Confined to Seperate Sides

Adalyn sighed at his question, what would she redo or change. "I would redo...our kiss. Use more emotion that's bottle inside of me. But that's a good enough answer for you is it? But no worries, you're not getting another from me. You afterall won't let me in so why should you even have the right to know me?" She asked her voice harsh. Adalyn was glad then that she couldn't see his face, it would probably have a nice red marking on it from her hand if he said anything she deamed worthy of a slap. She turned onto her side face away from him not wanting to even look at his shiney shoes. He didn't care, no one did, it was time for her to remove herself from him.

Alois was silenced once again with Adalyn's answer. Really, he didn't expect that it was that that she'll want to redo. He had thought that there would be other things that she would have wanted to change in her life. But actually, it was not that that had really silenced him, it was the fact that she had said that he didn't have the right to know her for he himself was not willing to let her in. "You're already a part of my life, aren't you.. and though I wouldn't like to admit it, you was able to understand me, more than I understand myself." He said, sitting upright now as he glanced down on Adalyn's figure. He didn't quite get the change in attitude, and honestly, he had rather like the one that she had shown him before, when it seemed to him that her barriers were down. "I want to let you in Adalyn, I would want to, honestly... so don't tell me that I can't intrude in your world as well, that you wouldn't give me the chance to know you."

Adalyn waited to hear what he had to say, her arm was out infront of her and she rest her head on it again closing her eyes. "You say someday, now you say you already have. Make up your mind. Get over that girl and move on open yourself to other people. And no I'm not apart of your life just because we have just met, it will be very easy to walk away right now and never think about you again and I don't need to be tempted to leave. I need to be tempted to stay," she said sitting up looking directly at him. Her eyes still held pain of being push away evenif he hadn't meant too, he did. She looked over him, he was part-veela, he had the glow it was something that was visible in her but just barely. There are been a veela in her family long ago now the blood was running thin, she didn't evne count as part-veela anymore. "What would you change?" She asked him wanting an answer.

Alois had always been told that he was really indecisive, and that he does have this tendency to contradict himself. Sighing, he had decided to answer her as truthfully as he could. "What I mean was that, someday, I'll be able to move on, it didn't have to be that day when I would actually let you in right? And though you were saying that I should move on from her, it's not really that easy Adalyn, especially if I do see her everyday. ." Alois said, pausing for breath as he tried to straighten his thoughts out, he had to explain everything fully. "We have just met, right, but even so, just you appearing here was enough for me to say that you're a part of my life now, whether you choose to stay or leave, it's actually your choice, but it wouldn't change the fact that you're already a character in my story, you have your own story too, and I guess that you wouldn't let me be a part of that. . " He then added, growing a little frustrated, not with Adalyn, but with himself. He wasn't usually like this after all, for usually, he was a very open person, he would accept any one.

He stopped to think for a bit when Adrie had asked what it was that he would want to change, honestly, there were a lot of it that he could say. "It was, I would probably want to be the first one to meet her, then probably things would have turned differently. . or. it would probably the way we met. . I have a lot of things that I would want to change.." He answered her, as honestly as he could. Really, these were the thoughts that had been running through his mind lately, too many what ifs, and if seemed now that Adalyn was being one of those what ifs already.

Adalyn rolled her eyes as he began to talk, he was making her more and more angry with each word he muttered. However being a girl who deals with anger everyday she could keep it inside and like it steam, as her outside remain calm. She didn't reply to him, Alois was too hung up on the girl there wasn't nothing she could do for him. She stood up when he said she was a character in his story, characters were for being controlled by the writer, it was something she opposed strongly, being controlled that is.

Looking down at him as he answered her question she shook her head suprised that he thought things would've turn out differently if he had met that girl before the other guy. Most likely it was mean to be for the guy and girl to date while they were both here, or sometime in the future. If he met her first she would've left him for the other guy most likely without hopes of her returning, but now he could still have hope and Adalyn hated that he did. She could never have hope for anything, nothing ever worked in her favour. Turning around she walked back towards the window which was a few feet away and hopped up and climbed back into the room.

Alois stood up as well as Adalyn started to move away from him, the hope that he had before of befriending her was slowly turning into dust, she was confining herself away again, and thoguh he wouldn't admit it, he had rather liked the Adalyn that had so freely criticized him and had so freely uttered her opinions about his life. Yet at the moment, everything seemed to be moving away from him again, just like what had almost happened with Adrie before, Adalyn, though he barely knew her, was starting to drift away from him again.

Watching her as she once again, climbed back to the confinements of the room, to the other side of the brick wall that was separating them, Alois knew instantly that she wouldn't really give him a chance to know her. "Are you closing your doors now?" He asked, unmoving as he crossed his arms in front of his chest, he wanted to know her answer, cause if she did want him to leave, then he better respect her choice, he cannot just push himself into her life anymore, if she didn't like it, he'll have no right to do so.

Adalyn turned to the window leaning out to take a hold of the handle looking at Alois. Her motions were paused as he questioned her. "They've always been closed," she told him swinging one side of the window shut before moving over to the other side to do the same with that side of the window. Looking out at him, she knew he was closed off as well. He wouldn't admit to her or even himself but he closed himself to others the day he met that girl. "I'm just closing the windows now," she said to him her head tilted. Then she pulled the window shutting it. Standing and looking out she could see Alois, but knew he would have to come closer to really see her, the difference of light messed with vision. Adalyn backed up from the window running into a desk still watching to see what he would do, would he be a runner or chaser.

Alois frowned when he heard the girl's answer, he's being really frustrated now actually, especially when she had moved and closed the windows of the said room, giving him no chance of ever seeing what she was doing in there, or of seeing if she was even still inside. "I'm not talking about literal meaning here.." He said, closing the gap between him and the brick wall separating the two of them. She had her chosen what she had wanted, she didn't want him in her life, and though he won't admit it, it was really painful to be rejected twice, though on the case of Adrie, she didn't rejected him the way that Adalyn do, Adalyn seemed to want him out of her life.

With a sigh, Alois slid down on the wall, sitting with his back leaning against it. He was alone now, and he got nothing to do. And when he's alone, things come to flash in his mind, making him think, and at this time, he would do anything not to think anymore. He's just...tired. "What's up with me?" He said more to himself, he's been doing that for quite some time now, talking to himself as if expecting his own conscience to answer him. "Everyone's running away, should I just stand around and watch, or should I run away with them as well..." He then added, his eyes now closed, though if they were open, he would probably be staring at the vast sky above him, too wide that he seemed to be engulfed by everything around, not really knowing what it was that he should do.

Adalyn watched as he moved against the brick wall and moved closer to the window to see what he was doing, she was suprised to hear him talk out loud to himself. "Neither am I," she whisphered back, though she was pretty sure he'd never hear her tiny whispher. Her father once said it was the whispher of a pixie and only they could respond.

Climbing back onto the window sill she looked down at him as he sat on the ground. He wouldn't think of looking up at her at least that is what she believed. Hearing the french words flow from his mouth she sat thinking on the words knowing them but taking time to decipher them, going back to Italian in her mind then French back to Italian before she understood what he was mumbling about. "Everything, of course." Opening the window she pushed it alittle ways open so she could lean out to look at him. It made a squeak and Adalyn was sure he would look at her from hearing it so she suddenly found herself talking. "Run with them, you shouldn't be left alone. It's never fun to be alone. In a world as big as this, it's easy to forget who you are and just be. But you need people there to pull you back, and remind you that you're you," she said looking away from him to the horizon. It took her a few seconds after her miny speech to look back down at him. Adalyn could only hope that he would just accept her, like she wanted him too and not go off and talk like he always seemed to do.

Alois was just too absorbed with his own thoughts, he was confused, everything had seemed to go down the drain, there's just things that he cannot really understand, and that frustrates him. He hated it, and now, he's being rather emotional, that's one more thing that he didn't like, he didn't want to be weak, that's not him at all. Usually, he's just confident, always smiling, yet lately, all he would do was frown, and honestly, he had hoped that it wouldn't be so, he would want to return to his normal self, that's all.

He was then surprised when he had heard a noise above him, really, he didn't expect that at all. Yet, he already knew who it was, Adalyn. He did no move to show that he had acknowledge her presence, he just listened, listened as she began to talk. If they were not in the situation where they were in, then probably, he would find what she was doing to be amusing, after all, it's not usual that he would hear him start the conversation with him. Yet, the truth in her words had stopped him from finding the situation funny, actually, what ever it was that she was saying was too serious, too serious that it was starting to suffocate him, he didn't like that feeling at all. "Is there someone like that for you? Cause I don't know if I had one like that now.." He said, his eyes fixed in front of him, he promised Adrie that he'll run with her, or if not, she'll wait for her return, but he himself didn't know whether someone would do that for him as well.

Adalyn looked down at Alois as he asked her yet another question. It seemed all questions and talk with him. She sighed glancing back out towards the horizon shaking her head. "No, I'm already so far gone, I'm untouchable. Though I have my brother, Maxxie, but he just makes clothes for me and ignores me the rest of the time. Eversince he went to London without me a few weeks ago," she said pulling her legs up to her chest knowing she didn't have a real friend in the world and it hurt. But she wasn't ready to let anyone in on how much it hurt her everyday to see people laughing and telling stories while the only story she had to tell was in her songs.

OOCOut of Character:
Ah such a lame post compared to your last one, sorry

Alois had had to look up just so he would be able to see Adalyn more clearly, he actually felt bad for her, but well, he knew that he shouldn't pity her at all, he knows what it feels like when someone pities you, and well, it's not really a nice feeling, and besides, he himself hated it when someone pities him. "No offense but, I think it was your own choice, why you had become untouchable like what you had said." He said truthfully, stating what it was that is in his mind, "It came from you you know, you had said that in this world a person needs someone to pull him back and remind him of who he is, you deserve one too.." he said, his voice soft, using her own words against her, hopefully though, she'll be able to understand what it was that he was trying to tell her.

OOCOut of Character:
No, it's fine.. :D no worries.. :r

Adalyn clenched her teeth at his statement. She did take offense to it but she didn't bother to show it. Her arms were wrapped around her long legs, the ones she used to consider gangly inside of the dresses her mother used to make her wear, now she was filled in, her outfits pulling in her long limbs and making her look normal even when she wore heels. "It wasn't my idea to have my friends move and go to another school," she said remembering Sarabelle and Anastasia and the memories the three made in their first three years of school here. With them gone she was left alone in the world of seventh and sixth years were she had to spend her in time, just to know people. "But I don't need anyone, not now. I've been alone like this, long enough to not need it anymore. My soul is removed from the world now I just have to wait till my day comes," she said before moving herself to lean against the brick and face inside the room where she was sitting on the ledge of a window.

Alois knew that he had struck a nerve when he heard Adalyn's reply to his statement. Sighing, he stood up, resting his hand on the window sill, facing the room where she was in. "Things just happen Adalyn, we just have to accept the flow of life.." He said casually, climbing inside the room as well, not really minding whether she would protest or not, but at the moment, all he wanted to do was get inside, he didn't want her to lock and close her windows on him again, no, that won't happen. "You said that it's not fun to be alone, yet, you would choose to be one?" He asked her, turning so he can properly look at her, he had this idea that he was starting to get really annoying, using what she had said earlier just so he'll justify his case, but even so, he wanted to reach out to her, but it seemed like she was pushing him away now.

Adalyn moved away staying on the sill but scotting over, as he climbed in through the window. As an old habit of hers her legs were moving back and forth as they hung underneath her. She didn't reply to his first statement, she knew she already had accepted things. And her life brought her to music and she decided to stay there. He asked her yet another question and she looked over at him. He was sitting only a few inches from her, to close for most people, yet they had already been closer then this. " I did try to open myself, yet you pushed me away. Now the chance is gone," she said harshly looking away from him not happy that he was accusing her of thigns he did himself.

"It's not just me Adalyn, there are a lot of people out there whom you can possibly rely on.." Alois said, shrugging. He knew that what she had said was indeed correct, cause even if he didn't really mean to, he had pushed her out of his life, and it was such a regret then, cause now, she wouldn't give him yet another chance. "And the thing is, won't you give me another chance then? People change, just like how feelings do. ." He added, this time, not looking straight at her but rather, his eyes were fixed in front of him, staring into nothingness as he waited for her response, surely, once again, it wouldn't be what it was that he had expected. Adalyn was just unpredictable, just like that...and she'll probably remain that way, even if her tried so much to decipher her and all, he doubts that he'll ever understand who she really is, but at least, he' ll give it a try once more, right?

Adalyn was tempted to roll her eyes at him. He didn't know anyone that she did. There was no one to turn too, her brother cared for her but not enough, he had enough to worry about. Her 'friends' wanted to get into her pants, or just play music with her they didn't care if she was hurting. She tried to let him in and he had pushed her out, now he wanted another chance, but she wasn't sure if he'd actually open up to her, or if she was supposed to be opening up to him and that was it. "And your feelings for me have changed in what twenty mintues?" She to him looking at him as he was looking across the room. Adalyn wondered why he couldn't look at her when he said such things, it was just like she was trapping him again and he had to close his eyes, his feelings hadn't changed. He didn't want to show her his emotions, there was trust issues already between them. Adalyn sat there waiting for him to do something, she was done responding to him with her brain and mouth. She was fed up with translating his big speeches in her brain now he needed to show her his feelings changed and he wasn't tempted to push her away. This time though she wasn't trapping him, all he needed to do was get up and leave, that would be his way of pushing her out again, the same with just sitting there waiting for her to respond to whatever he was going to say next, something she wasn't going to do.

Alois had had to look at Adalyn when he heard her utter those words, well, she did have a point there, it had only been a short span of time since they met, and actually, a lot of things had had happened as well, and those things were not specially good ones actually. "I'm not quite sure... but I want to give it a try.." He said, trying to look at her in the eyes now, the way that he did earlier. The thing is, they both doubt each other, doubting whether each one would accept one another. But even so, if he tried, maybe things between them would change, maybe they can try to at least learn how to trust each other. He'll try to take the chance then. "I won't push you away again, and actually, I'm hoping that you would do the same.." He added, being rather sincere and all. He'll try, try not to hurt her feelings, try not to look as if any second, he'll run away and leave her be. No, he had chosen not to run away from his problems, he'll have to face them, all with pride and so. And well,he wanted to give their friendship a chance, hopefully though, she'll give him a chance as well.

Adalyn glanced away form him when he looked at her and answered her. She didn't respond, still as a statue she looked at the door on the other side of the classroom. She wasn't going to answer him till he opened himself up, but without words. Through a touch of his hand on hers, a hug, a kiss, she needed something to show her that he was there. Right now she was the statue in the garden that never woke up till the right person came along with the magic key, that being the key of love and kindness. Adalyn moved only her head, looking back at him waiting, yet she hadn't told him she was waiting. It was up to him to figure her message out, whatever answer he came up was what would be written in stone for the rest of their relationship, be it another minute long or years long.

Seeing as Adalyn didn't respond to him at all, Alois knew instantly that he wasn't being effective at getting his point across, he knew that he was still not succeeding in trying to take off her mask and see through those numerous personae that she had happened to posses. Sighing to himself, he knew that his words would make no effect on her by then. But he refused to give up, she had told him that it wasn't fun to be alone, that he didn't deserve it, and he wanted to know why so. He wanted to try and trust her. And most of all, he wanted to believe in her. Climbing down from the window sill, he proceeded to walk in front of her, that way, she would be looking at him instead of the door that she seemed to be too fond of. "Stop acting like a statue Adalyn." He said as he tapped her nose with his index finger, something that he knew would provoke or possible be the cause of her being angry at him once again, but at least, he had caught her attention by then. If she won't listen to him, then he'll try the other way around.

Adalyn watched out of the corner of her eye as he moved from the window sill and she thought that was it. He was giving up pushing her out for all time, but he didn't. Instead he stood right in front of her and tapped her on the nose and told her not to be a statue. "I'm not a statue I'm a gargoyle," she said back to him completely aware he didn't have a clue what she said to him. It made her smile, but only just a bit, at the thought of having what she said a secret from him. Hopefully he would come through and show her that he really did want to be close to her, or he would leave. Either way she sat there blinking only a few times each minute, staring through him as if she was still looking at the door.

Alois had had to frown when he heard Adalyn speak, it was in a language that he cannot quite understand after all, really, now, he not only had to learn Chinese and Dutch, he had to learn whatever that language was as well. Nevertheless, that frown was replaced by a tiny smile when he noticed that Adalyn smiled for a little bit, just a little bit that someone might have dismissed it to be just some sort of a product of his own imagination, or that he was just having illusions, yet for Alois, it's more than that, it was something that gave him this hope that maybe, just maybe there's still a chance for him. But even so, her reaction, or more so, her lack of reaction after that had made him frown once more. It was pretty funny though, how his expressions would change by then, maybe what the others had said was right, he was probably too easy to read, after all, his facial expressions show what it was that he was thinking or feeling after all. "You will not talk to me, will you?" He asked her, though he knew for a fact that she won't give him an answer again. Heaving a deep sigh, he decided that the only way to make her talk was to actually surprise her, so without further ado, he pulled her down from the window sill and enclosed her in a hug, it was just a short one though for he feared that he might have offended her.

Adalyn noticed his smile and hers stopped on her face. She watched as his emotions were displayed across his face, he didn't have any clue what she was trying to tell him. He had to learn the lanuage of the body sitll it seemed. She lightly shook her head at his question, but just barely, the only way to know if her head moved at all was how her hair fell into her face. She let out a breath as he moved back to the window but brought back in another when he hugged her. Adalyn had to admit it was a nice hug, though short it was right, he figured out what she needed from him to show he was staying. She turned to him, her eyes on his. "Ciao," she said to him knowing most knew it as goodbye, but it also meant Hello in her language. Leaning forward she gave him a proper hug letting her arms stay loose enough so he could escape if he wanted too.

Alois let out a sigh of relief when Adalyn had just decided to finally look at him and talk. Really, it was such a relief to him that he cannot help but to smile once more, not that smile that he would usually show, but rather, his real grateful smile, the one that he would show only when he's grateful and thoroughly happy, it's been quite a while since he had smiled that way, and honestly,it feels..right. He titled his head sideways when Adalyn spoke yet in another language that he didn't understand, he was about to questioned her when he had suddenly felt her arms around him, she was hugging him again. And unlike last time, he didn't stiffened or pulled away, he just wanted to be friend her, to let her in in his life, and in return, he wanted to be a part of her life too, hopefully, this would be the start then. Realizing the position where they were in, Alois cannot help but to laugh, a heartfelt one at that, for finally, he was having this hope that somehow, he'll be able to understand her.

Adalyn smiled at his laughter, a few laughs came out from her but she was caught up in listening to his to bother laughing. She was suprised at how nice it sounded, she was used to the awkward laugh of her brother, and the loud prideful laughs of the older students. She only hoped Alois didn't turn out to be like either of the two. Pulling back she decided that the time for the hug had experied and she didn't need or particulary want phsyical touch anymore. Adalyn just wanted to be close, she wasn't like the runt of the litter who constantly needed to be touched, having been used to being at the bottom of the dog pile.
