It's December 1st and our last BWU of the year. It's a packed one so let's jump right in!
End of Year updates
Slytherin took home the house cup, and the site is properly adorned to celebrate their victory! Congratulations to all of the Slytherins!
Beauxbatons took the final game of the quidditch season with a score of 180-30. If you didn't follow the game, you can catch up here. Congratulations Beauxbatons and congratulations to Hufflepuff on winning the HNZ quidditch cup.
Graduation is still open but will be closing very soon, and all graduates will move along to their new magical group. If you have any last minute posting to do in the grad area, now is the time.
Sorting!
Sorting is now open! Transfers too! So if you've been looking to have a new character or new plots, those are two great options. Transfer apps will close mid-week. Sorting will remain open until the later half of week one of lessons.
New first years, please do not forget to hit the link in your PM. It's how your character gets added to the gradebook and receives initial galleons. First years do not have to buy books but you must purchase a wand.
Second years and up, you do have to purchase books. You can find the books for classes by either going to the book shop and looking up your year or through the gradebook option 'show required supplies.'
While professors can add you to classes, the responsibility of purchasing does reside with you, the student RPer. You still have one week to shop, short RPs are encouraged!
Once the semester begins, third years and up must sign up for classes. Again, while professors can add you, we'd like student RPers to take on this task for yourself and only rely on professors for circumstances where you are unable to do so yourself.

The latest edition of the yearbook is now available! A big thank you to the yearbook team for all of the effort and dedication towards getting us an edition each year.

Over the next month, we encourage patience in awaiting replies from each other and staff. We also encourage for folks with positions that have additional responsibility- professors, shops, captains, club leaders, etc. - to be especially communicative around your time especially if you would typically have obligations that fall during this month. Don't forget that what you do does impact others so it's always helpful to communicate.

The app to join MESSI for the next IC year is open, but it will be closing mid-week. If you're interested in joining, you can learn more about the role here.

Last call! If you would like your HNZ anniversary added to the 2025 calendar, today is the deadline to PM me with your anniversary and # you'll be celebrating.
Brief app re-opening
Admin usually close apps around holiday time so that we csn be more present with our families and friends but with the timing of sorting, we will briefly re-open apps to accommodate for the grad/Sorting closing. Applications will re-open on December 9th and will close again December 18th. They will be closed until the new year after that. So, if you need to apply for a special event, position for your character, etc. do not delay once they open.
The calendar is already up for S1 of the new year and S2 will be up by the 9th.
