Beauxbatons Quidditch Practice

Cheryl was ready when the game started but saw how Brendan catched it easily. She sighted for a moment but didn't let it got to her that easily. She flew along with Brendan to see if he needed help on his way to the hoops. The blonde looked around her to see if any bludgers seem to be coming in her way. Cheryl saw Brendan trying to score but he failed. She knew this was a team sport, but this was a chance of showing herself pretty good. If she would score for the team it would look good. Cheryl would do her very best. It was sad that Brendan didn't score but it was also nice that Celine did a good job with being a keeper of the hoops. Cheryl was ready to get the quaffle and try at the other hoops. She catched the quaffle when the keeper tossed it back in the game an quickly moved back to the other side of the pitch. She wanted to score badly.

Cassi watched as Brendan flew toward Celine's posts. Watching the Keeper paid attention to their captain. Soon enough,Brendan threw the quaffle. Celine managed to save it. Cassi punched her fist in the air in a cheer.

Elvira always found it difficult not to focus on the rest of the game going on around her too. She was easily distracted, which wasn't the best trait in a seeker. Though she could also focus very well when she had to. Right now she watched Cheryl grab the quaffle and head in the direction of Cassi's hoops. She wondered how her friend would do in saving it.

Theodore's attention was drawn from his snitch hunting by one of the beaters coming up behind him. It was a little unnerving, considering how difficult it was to tell if they were going to hit a bludger his way, or if they were going to defend him from an incoming one. He could only hope it was the latter, and gave her a friendly thumbs up, before turning back to the task at hand.

Once the quaffle was thrown back into play, Brendan tracked its progress, following Cheryl after the girl managed to take possession of it. He followed closely behind her, in case she needed to make a pass, though he wanted her to have a shot at scoring herself.

She smiled when he gave her a thumbs up and then continued to look around her to see where the other Beaters were flying at the moment.

Jess watched the game progress for a while, happy to see Cheryl take possession of the ball, because she wasn't originally a Chaser but they'd seen potential in her so the red-haired girl hoped the girl was more comfortable and confident in her position now. But she didn't watch for long as she saw a bludger up ahead, so she flew forward to smack it away, but her aim was off so the bludger hardly steered off its original course and Jess exhaled deeply.

Celine had been happy to have saved the goal, and she nodded slightly in response to Brendan's compliment. She found that practicing with the chasers was always slightly awkward, just because they couldn't both have a personal win at the same time. But Brendan knew he was good, and Celine spent more time tracking his attempts than almost any other Keeper - Cassi excluded of course. She trained her eyes on the other girl at the far end now, curious to see how Cheryl would do against her.

Elvira glanced at each of the beaters, feeling cautious. Just like in matches, seekers were often the targets in practices. But so far she was pretty safe. That meant she had to keep looking around for the snitch.

Theodore glanced toward some of the other players on the fields, watching their movements back and forth across the pitch. The other roles seemed a little more complicated, especially when compared to the seekers, whos only job was to catch one ball, but as simple as the task sounded, it definitely felt like the hardest. Being a chaser may have been more complicated, but there was never not pressure to find the snitch, no reprieve like the other chasers may have had when they passed the quaffle to a teammate, and no longer had all that responsibility. As it was, he loved his position, and wouldn't have traded it for the world. Turning his eyes back to the skies, he continued his search.

Elvira flew underneath Theodore, giving him a thumbs up before focusing on her surroundings again. She liked the kid well enough, but if he caught the snitch before she did again she knew she would resent it. So hopefully he wouldn't. Though, Elvira wasn't one to keep grudges for very long anyway. It did comfort her to know there was a good alternate in case she got injured or ill.

Cheryl noticed she flew pretty quickly to the other side of the pitch. With the quaffle under her arm she came closer to the hoops. The blonde focused and saw Brendan flying along with her. The blonde saw a chance and decided to throw the quaffle. Cheryl saw how she managed to score and threw her hands into the air. She did it! The blonde was really glad and looked around her to see the others reactions. This was a good atart she figured.

Cassi saw Cheryl flying toward her. She was prepared and focused on the girl when she was startled by another figure flying beside Cheryl. She lost focus and the next thing she knew was Cheryl made a goal successfully. Frustrated at herself, she silently cursed but managed to smile at the chaser. "Nice.",she cheered for the girl. After all,in a real game that would be their points.

Flying alongside the younger chaser, Brendan kept an eye on her and the quaffle, pulling back only once she'd entered the scoring zone. He applauded as she managed to make the goal, before taking possession of the quaffle as it was thrown back into play and heading toward the opposing hoops.

Seeing Elvira down below, Theodore grinned at her and returned her thumbs up. The snitch had been eluding them both it seemed, but they still had plenty of time to find and catch at - perhaps even more than once, if they were lucky again. Theo was slightly worried his luck would eventually run out, and that perhaps it as only a matter of time before he wasn't doing as well as he had been. Hopefully that day wasn't today, if ever.

Fletcher thought the game was moving much faster that day, but maybe it was just because the rain wasn't clouding their vision, and the team had a better idea of what was going on. Spotting a bludger, she flew up in position with her bat raised, fully intending to send it towards their male captain. Catching the iron ball at a strange angle however, she watched in horror as it veered off course, smacking straight into the brunette seeker instead. This was not good.

Celine watched the action down the other end of the pitch with interest, and felt both pleased and sympathetic towards Cheryl and Cassi's respective outcomes. She saw that Brendan had taken the Quaffle as it came back into play and readied herself for the next attack on her hoops. However her concentration was slightly broken when out of the corner of her eye she saw Elvira get hit by a bludger. It had happened so fast she couldn't tell how well her friend was faring yet, but she hoped it hadn't been too damaging.

With the quaffle tucked under his arm, Brendan sped toward Celine, determined to make his goal this time. The bludger heading towards their seeker was a brief distraction, but he didn't allow himself to track the iron ball's progress through the sky, focusing his attention on the hoops and trusting Jessica to keep an eye on the events happening around him.

Keeping track of the other balls in play was far easier than keeping track fo the snitch. Theodore did his best to watch out for both the golden orb and the bludgers in play, wanting to avoid the latter at all costs, and noticed one of the two iron balls headed his way. Or, more accurately, toward the other seeker nearby. "Elvira, look out!" He called out to her, perhaps too late, though with the other beater tailing him, maybe she'd get lucky

With Brendan still speeding towards her end of the pitch, Celine didn't have time to keep an eye on Elvira. She knew he would be vastly more determined to score this time around.

Maia noticed the bludger coming for the other Seeker out of the corner of her eyes and braced herself for what was to happen next. There was no way she would be able to take a swing at it with her bat and successfully defend the brunette because all that would cost too much time and she didn't have much of that right now. Instead she sped up and put herself in front of Elvira and the iron ball, her left shoulder taking the blow.

Elvira didn't notice the bludger heading her way until she heard Theodore's shout. Alarmed, she whirled around in mid air, cringing as she noticed it was heading directly at her. But before it could impact her, Maia flew in front of her and took the hit. Elvira could hardly believe it. "Holy crap!" She said, her eyes wide. "Geez Maia, are you okay?" It had definitely been a heroic save, and Elvira was grateful to the younger girl. "I'll buy you like, ten chocolate frogs for that."

Theodore winced at Maia took the brunt of the bludger for Elvira, feeling glad he wasn't in her position. He hovered on the spot to see if she was okay, but the other seeker seemed to have it covered, so the youth zipped off to continue his search for the snitch. MAybe he'd have a better chance at getting it while Elvira was distracted.

Despite the commotion of one of the girls taking a bludger hit, Brendan kept his focus on Celine, who seemed just as focused on him. He approved, they couldn't all stop in a real match because one player had been on the receiving end of a bludger. Entering the scoring zone, the redhead feinted to the left, making to throw the quaffle into the hoop, before switching over to the far right at the last moment. The ball sailed through, and he exhaled a relieved breath. He hadn't gotten too sloppy since he became the co-captain. Recently it had felt like he was spending more time ensuring the others were doing well than he was making sure his capability kept up to scratch. Pumping his fist in the air in silent celebration, Fulke exited the scoring zone and finally spared a glance over at Maia and Elvira. They seemed fine, as fine as a person could be after being struck, and he turned his attention back to the hoops, waiting for the quaffle to come back into play.

Fletcher watched as one of the other beaters caught the impact of the bludger, saving the seeker from getting struck. She wished she could play more defensively than this, but not having too many in her own direction she had to make do with just practicing how to hit them. So she did it again. Swinging her bat she managed to smack the iron ball perfectly in the center this time, and while the third year hated seeing her own teammates getting hit, she once again had to make the split decision as to who to hit. Perhaps Jessica would be able to defend it, and as the red hair directed the ball towards her through the air, she called out so that she could prepare. "Jessica, get ready." Maybe she would be alright.
