Beauxbatons Quidditch Practice

Even though she should be looking for the snitch, Elvira's gaze flitted to Jessica occasionally. She noticed the girl was rubbing at her shoulder and seemed to have trouble swinging her bat, which caused her to fly over. "Are you okay?" She asked, a small frown on her face.

Fletcher spotted that Maia was following one of the bludgers, and moving round the pitch she managed to come at it from another angle. With her bat raised she waited for it to continue its path in front of her, and at the perfect time she successfully swept it into a new direction, pleased with herself for hitting another shot. Keeping with her theory that other beaters would have a better defence, she has hit it towards Jessica again, not aware that she was being spoken to by their seeker until it was too late. She was definitely going to need to apologise to her captain at the end of the game.

Jessica was trying to shake off her frustration and anxiety over being hit, since worrying about it was messing with her head and affecting her performance. She smiled and nodded weakly when Elvira asked if she was okay and said, "Yeah I'll be fine," she said with a small shrug. Every quidditch player knew the risk of being hit with a bludger, Jess just wasn't used to it because usually she was the one doing the hitting. While being distracted by Elvira, Jess heard the familiar hurdling sound of a bludger approaching and turned around to try and dodge it, but it was too late as it hit her hard on the thigh. Sica swore out loud in Korean and gritted her teeth to keep from saying anything more, knowing the hit was going to leave a nasty bruise. She looked over to where Fletcher was and gave a half-hearted smile to the younger girl. She was glad the girl was so talented, but it was hard to be proud of her when Sica kept getting the brunt of the hits.

Maia groaned frustratedly when Fletcher flew around to pitch to have a go at the bludger she had been following for the past two minutes or so. ''What the hell, dude?! That was my bludger!'' she shouted to the other beater before continuing her hunt once more.

Cassi smiled at everyone who cheered at her accomplishment. Watching the scenes unfold in front of her,she looked concerned to Jessica before her attention was caught by Maya shouting at Fletcher.

Theodore slowed down his broom down, distracted by even more of a commotion than before. He watched the other players from his safe distance, wondering what was going on, and only hearing unintelligible shouting. Deciding he was probably better off missing out on it all, he resumed his search.

Not sensing a strong threat from the chasers yet, Celine took her eye off them to take in the flurry of activity occurring among the rest of the players on the team. She grimaced as Jessica was once again hit with a bludger, particularly so because it looked like Elvira had been distracting her. Celine couldn't tell if she was supposed to be celebrating the fact that her friend had managed to make their captain's attention wander or not, and so biting back a grin she turned back to watch for the chasers.

Still in a lot of pain, Jess decided to fly higher up away from the game to oversee everything and possibly to stay out of the line of fire. She heard Maia yelling at Fletcher but didn't care to intervene since they could probably resolve it on their own. In the mean time, Jess flew around above the rest of the team hoping for the dull ache to go away soon.

Elvira was glad to hear Jessica would bee fine, but then before she could say anything, the girl was hit again by another bludger. Elvira felt her anger rise. Of all people to hit, Fletcher found it necessary to hit their captain only minutes after another bludger? She understood they had to practice, but that seemed excessive to her. She shot a glare at the redheaded girl, glad Maia also seemed unhappy with her. She glanced at Jessica again, hoping the girl was okay. Then tried to focus on finding the snitch.

It was as though Fletcher was intentionally hurting people. She would much rather have been defending them from attacks but the whole point of practise was to get better at her aim. She glared a little as Maia began to shout at her, angry that she'd stolen her bludger. "It's called teamwork," she mumbled back, not sure whether she actually wanted her to hear or not. One of the seekers seemed angry too but it wasn't as though she'd been a target of her attack. Trying to ignore the blush to her cheeks, and not wanting to create an argument, Fletcher quickly flew off from the area, trying to find the second ball although considering it may be an idea to miss it on purpose if the players were going to get mad when she hit it.

Theodore zipped around the pitch, pursuing the snitch from a distance and constantly losing sight of it in the open sky. It was getting frustrating, but he couldn't complain. He hadn't been hit by a bludger yet, unlike apparently a quarter of the team, and he was doing his absolute best to try and keep it that way.

Fletcher kept am eye out for the bludgers as she tried not to make eye contact with those she upset. She wondered whether they caught any snitches yet and whether they'd actually be able to beat Hogwarts. If they could that was certainly going to be a game to remember.

Emma watched as Brendan missed and the quaffle was thrown back into play. She scooped it up and began to make her way to the hoops on the other side of the field.

Annoyed at what had happened, Maia followed a bludger she'd spotted right after she continued the hunt once again. She wasn't sure if she would hit it properly as it was going a lot faster than she was, but a poop not taken is a shot missed. When she got close enough to the iron ball, Maia stretched our her right arm again, leaning on the broom with her left for as long her injury allowed her to, and swung her bat at it. She only managed to scratch the ball, however, and saw that it want off course towards Elvira. ''Elvira, heads up!'' she shouted so the Seeker would know what would be coming her way.

Glad to see the quaffle taken by another chaser, Brendan trailed behind as it was flown to the opposite side of the pitch, sparing a glance to the other players now that he wasn't so focused on making a shot. The beaters were on fire, as usual, though he'd have been happier to see them trying to balance their play out more on the defense than a constant offense.

Did we actually release the snitch tho.

Theodore kept searching, just as he and Elvira had done all practice. That's all he did now. Looked around at this empty a** sky for a ball that had probably flown halfway across Europe by now.

Apparently so

Elvira tried to focus on her own task, not the drama between the two beaters. But then she heard Maia's warning. As she turned her head to look at what her friend had warned her about, she saw it. The snitch! And so close! Forgetting all about the warning, she grabbed it by instinct. But before she could even shout to the others about her catch, she was hit in the side by a bludger. She yelped in pain and spun away, clinging to her broom and to the snitch. "I got it! Ow that HURTS!" She shouted, holding up the snitch for everyone to see before releasing it again. Her hand went to her side, that would definitely bruise. But at least she had proven the snitch was really here, and she had perhaps made things even between her and Theodore.

Sica watched the game unfold below her and saw a bludger head towards their Seeker. As much as it sucked for them to hit their own teammates, it was part of the nature of the game, and the Seekers knew they were the most targeted players in the sky. But she was pleasantly surprised to see that despite the hit, Elvira caught the snitch. Sica clapped and cheered for the younger girl, grinning at her briefly, before telling the team to resume the practice. With renewed vigor, Jess flew in search of a bludger and once she caught up with one ahead of her, she swung her bat and hit the ball right on, sending it flying towards the curly haired Beater. Perhaps Jess felt the other players had been targeted enough for this practice so she wanted to give them a bit of a break, or maybe she was still feeling the dull throb of the hits she'd taken from the younger girl earlier.

After catching the snitch, Elvira noticed that Jessica smiled at her. Emboldened, she headed in the direction of the red-haired girl with a grin. Though she paused when she noticed her hit a bludger at Fletcher. The beaters seemed really active today. "Hey, did you see that?" She asked with a big grin. "I got it, even though I got hit." That wasn't entirely true, as she had been hit by the bludger after she had already caught the snitch, but it sounded more impressive that way.

Jessica slowed down when Elvira approached her and chuckled when the girl seemingly came to get Jess's approval. "Hell yeah I saw that, that was awesome," Sica told the Seeker, genuinely impressed with how she managed to get the Snitch despite being hit. Feeling pretty satisfied with the team's performance today, and noticing how long they'd been in the air, Jess blew a whistle to signal the end of practice. "Alright guys, that's it for today! You all did very good!" she said truthfully. She was proud of everyone's performance across the board. "Keep it up and New Zealand doesn't stand a chance against us!" she added with a smirk. She gathered up the game balls and looked to Brendan with a smile, ready to have their usual post-practice discussions for the upcoming game now that it was closer than ever.
