Closed A Night For Four

Eoghan debated whether it was selfish of him not offer to babysit the twins, to give Lilith a chance to spend some alone time with their mother, but then he realised that they were twelve years old, not three, and suddenly he didn't feel as bad. Merlin when they were twelve they were headed out to Helsinki for the day. "Of course I will," Eoghan took a sip of his drink, unsure whether or not it was meant to be carbonated or whether he was imagining it. The Ravenclaw always felt welcomed at the Ilves household, but he didn't want to get in their way, either. "Are you sure she won't mind?" The twins had been at Hogwarts long enough now that they should have been used to having Eoghan around their sister, but their mum was different, and her situation was different. Then again, perhaps she would enjoy having the house filled with students again.

Felix blinked for a moment, trying to work out what Nia meant. Hadn't Gaia told her how they'd met? "No, not.. exactly," the smirk reappeared on his face. "She just caught me at a bad time. Didn't mean she bloody helped me though, just made the most of my compromised state," he could look back at that meeting and laugh about it now, but at the time he'd thought he hadn't made the best impression on the Slytherin. At least she'd gone on to show him her dragon.

Lilith felt all worry wash away at the confirmation and she felt like her shoulders fully relaxed again. It was just knowing he'd be there with her that made all the difference for her. Bringing their joined hands up she pressed a kiss to the back of his palm as she smiled at Eoghan. "Thank you," Lilith felt like he'd know she was thankful whether she spoke it out loud or not but she'd always wanted to make a point of voicing her gratitude. "Honestly? I think mum quite likes you, considers you part of the family already so she'd be more than happy to have you." The prefect reassured Eoghan and took a sip of her drink that was kind of like a can of soda that'd been left open for the night. Perhaps it was meant to be carbonated but something had gone wrong.

As Fifi smirked Nia's smile fell off her face somewhere around her feet as she felt mortification overtake her. "Oh no... I'm sorry she should have helped you out or something. She can be awfully rude especially to people when it comes to me." Merlin she'd have to have a word or two with the Slytherin about helping people out if they were hanging from trees. "You didn't get hurt because of her unhelpfulness, did you?" Her hazel eyes did an involuntary trip over the prefect, as if she'd be able to spot if anything had happened. "When was this anyways? Merlin I hope she didn't tell you anything stupid or ask you anything stupid."

Eoghan had had his suspicions, but hearing that Lilith also thought that her mum considered Eoghan as part of the family made the boy flush. He was barely part of his own family, why should he be allowed to frequent anyone elses? He took another sip of his drink despite the texture and looked away as Lilith kissed the back of his hand. "You don't have to thank me Lils," Eoghan replied honestly, lowering his glass. He didn't feel as though he deserved it, he wasn't the one going through anything. Eoghan peered across the room, noting that Felix and Mania were now for the most part huddled in the crowd of students, barely giving each other room to breath. "Do you think he's changed?" He asked the prefect. Eoghan hadn't really engaged with Felix much beyond the occasional nod in the right direction during their classes, but he knew Lilith had been trying to bridge their previous gap.

"Eh, she probably didn't want to go on easy on me. Besides, gave me a chance to prove myself," Felix was capable of getting himself out of a sticky situation. He chuckled to himself again. "Nothing bad about having someone around looking out for you," Felix tucked some of Nia's stray hair out of her face before lifting her chin slightly so he could kiss her again, longer this time as though he was making the most of the opportunity. Eventually Felix paused for air. "I don't know, but you're doing it again," he smiled, pulling her body closer with one arm.

Even though Eoghan was looking away from her Lilith shook her head in protest at him telling her she didn't need to thank him. "Yes I do and I want to even if I didn't have to. You have been there for me this past year or so and I want to thank you." She said taking a step closer to him and then leaning to his side as she followed where he was looking at. A small smile spread over the Ravenclaw's lips as she looked at one of her best friends with the girl he'd been definitely hanging out with more and more as days went by. Considering Eoghan's question Lilith tilted her head ever so slightly. "I think he's found someone who matches his energy and is figuring it out step by step with him without stressing too much over it." She was incredibly happy seeing Felix thrive this past semester and continuing to mend their friendship. "I think he is trying and I am proud of him." As Lili spoke she was unfortunate enough to witness her friend shamelessly snog away and had to look somewhere else for her own good. "How are you feeling about everything lately?" She asked Eoghan and looked to him instead.

Mania was going to kick Gaia on the shins. Okay maybe not, she wouldn't resort to violence, but she'd definitely have a few selected words with the girl about this situation they'd had. "Yeah but she doesn't have to endanger you while looking out for me..." Nia frowned, surely her sister could have helped him out. Something about Felix so gently tucking stray hairs away and then lifting her chin up had a swarm of butterflies take flight in the fourth years stomach. Stupid butterflies were a constant resident whenever the prefect was around. She didn't mind that the kiss seemed to go on a little longer than the previous ones, in fact she was a little disappointed they needed to catch a breath. "Doing what?" Mania asked, her brain short circuiting and suddenly blanking as she looked at his mouth.

Felix couldn't say he particularly wanted to be talking about Gaia anymore, not when this night was their night. He mumbled something under his breath instead, moving his feet to the music and more or less carrying Nia with him as he went. "You, are well known Chatty Bee, for not knowing when enough questions are enough," He rested a finger against her lips, a cheeky grin always across his face, "No more questions, not tonight." He moved both hands to her waist, twirling them around between the other students, careful not to let her bump into anyone as he did.

Mania moved her eyes to look into Felix's blue ones and was about to defend herself but then there was something against her lips shushing her. Biting back a smile the fourth year resisted the urge to do something annoying like bite the prefects finger. Luckily Fifi removed his finger before she could do any such thing. "Fine. You are relieved of my questions for tonight, Princess." She caved and just went with the fifth year as he lead them through some sort of dance. Honestly she was mainly giggling the whole time because there was a lot of twirling but they weren't really crashing into anyone and she almost wanted to throw her head back and just spin around like that, but not in a room full of people. She'd get her head knocked off. Mania felt free knowing she wasn't going home for Christmas but instead was staying at her real home and that Felix would be around too.

"That may be the case, but I wasn't going to just leave you to it," Eoghan still gave his girlfriend a smile of appreciation however. As the prefect watched the Gryffindors, Eoghan had to admit that there was something between them that seemed to, at least on the surface, be on the same page. Eoghan wasn't sure whether or not Felix was still lost within himself, and hadn't really been paying enough attention to him to know whether or not it was a new record of retained affection. "I think he's trying in class, too," annoyingly, Eoghan had found that Felix was taken even more classes than he was, although he'd had to drop his own egotistical views that he was in competition with him. Eoghan turned his face fully toward Lilith as she asked him how he was doing, unsure of how much to tell her. He could keep things simple, but he knew that's not what she truly meant. "I don't know," he didn't really know how to explain it, "I'm probably just spending too much time reading in bad light, it's giving me headaches." It wasn't exactly something he admitted out loud however, even when he was finding it hard to concentrate due to them. It was that or he needed a new prescription.

Lilith smiled back and gave a nod. "I know." They'd promised to be there for each other through their years at school and Lilith intended it to last way beyond Hogwarts and she didn't expect Eoghan to go back on the promise either. Not while at school and the future didn't matter but Lili knew she'd make it work one way or another even if it meant taking on the animosity her boyfriend's twin sister had given her way every time they interacted recently, which wasn't much at that either. "He is," The Ravenclaw confirmed adding in a nod too for emphasis. She'd offered to help Felix out and share her notes from previous years too and intended to keep that offer up come revision time again. It was nice seeing him seemingly thriving recently. Lilith's full focus was on Eoghan as he mentioned his headaches, a small frown on her face she examined the boys face. "Hmm, maybe you need to start making use of you wand and Lumos," Though she wasn't sure if that was going to be enough or if that even was the cause. "If they get worse you might need to see a nurse, I could try to give you a head massage though I don't know honestly if that will even help..." She wanted to help him and was worried he was having headaches.

Eoghan almost immediately regretting telling Lilith he got headaches these days, as she went into a concerned mode. "I don't need the nurse," he told her firmly. He was training to be a healer, he was sure he could figure it out on his own if he really needed to. It was a headache, not brain surgery. He also didn't particularly want to use Lumos when it came to reading, holding his wand in one hand while he had an open book in front of him wasn't exactly comfortable for hours on end. "I'm sure it's fine," he wasn't, but he didn't want the prefect to be worried about him. More than the headaches, he just wondered what was causing it, or whether it was just something he was imagining. Wouldn't be the first time.

As the crowds of students were all in same way moving around together on the dance floor, it wasn't too hard to make sure none of them collided provided Felix's attention wasn't totally taken by the fourth year. It was fun to let his hair down and spend some time with her properly, usually at these events they'd also be dressed up in a dumb and amusing costume, but tonight it felt like they could just shine as themselves. After a while of dancing, Felix leaned back into Nia's ear, "I'm really hot," he called, trying to speak over the volume of the music again.

Lilith frowned a little sad that Eoghan seemed to instantly shut down at the idea of her being worried about him and offering help but she reeled in any bit of that and just glanced at him. She didn't want to ruin the night by being concerned but his wellbeing was important to her and if he had headaches that wasn't exactly him being well. "Promise me if they get worse you'll tell me and take care of yourself. I'll stop pestering only on that condition." She offered up her pinky finger with a small smile. "Do you want to dance?" Lili suddenly realized they'd just been stood at the sides.

Mania was definitely having the time of her life, there were no worries or cares on her mind currently and as Felix spoke down to her ear she almost choked on air. He could have presented it better, said he was warm. Though she wasn't denying what he said. "Yeah it is getting quite warm out here..." She replied, glancing to where the Ravenclaws were stood. "Want to go grab drinks?" She asked, those would cool them down surely.

Eoghan didn't reply to Lilith, only gave her a lingering look that said Do I really have to? as he finished off his drink, setting the glass back down on the table beside them. He raised his own pinky finger though, squeezing hers in silent promise. They both knew that those weren't breakable, although Eoghan wasn't sure on what basis he would consider his headaches to be getting worse. Eoghan absolutely did not want to dance thank you very much, although he still remained silent, not wanting to disappoint the Ravenclaw further. The idea of being surrounded by those sweaty bodies in the student swamp bog was not his idea of a good night. Before the prefect had a chance to come up with a good excuse, he spotted the Gryffindors on their way back over to them, "I think you jinxed it," he nodded his head in their direction, hoping they'd be able to convince Lilith to stay put.

Felix didn't wait to be told twice. He took Nia's hand and lead them back out of the dance floor, but immediately fell into step behind her once they were in the clear, wrapping both arms around her now and walking as though she was his puppet. It was as though no matter how close they were, they weren't quite close enough. Eoghan and Lilith were watching them, staring at them even, and Felix had that stupid smile on his face as he peered back up to them both. "Did you guys drink it all?" he asked, voice louder than he intended it to be. He hunted around for some glasses that hadn't already been devoured, trying to ignore the glean of sweat that was currently spread across his forehead.

Lilith was taking the silence to her question as a no, which was okay. She hadn't expected to dance, bu it was worth the shot. She glanced towards the Gryffindor's again as the blonde beside her said she'd jinxed it, only to see them walking Lilith and Eoghan's way. Giving a small laugh she shook her head. "Seems so," She joked, placing her glass down. Felix was wearing this sh*t eating grin as he held Mania and it made Lilith smile. "Think there might still be some left for you," she said tilting her head. "You had enough of dancing?" The prefect asked curiously.

Mania was glad to go for drinks and even more so when Fifi wrapped his arms around her. A wide grin spread over her face as they walked and was still there once they reached Felix's friends. Nia scanned the table for any glasses that were still up for grabs. Grabbing one for herself she grinned at Lilith. "We'll see, just needed to get a little drink to cool down, how about you any dancing on your schedule for tonight?" She spoke before taking another glass and handing it to Felix.

Taking one of the glasses, Felix managed to down the entire thing in one, not realising just how thirsty he'd become in the course of the evening. By the time he set the glass down and wiped some of the juice off his chin, he was practically out of breath. "Nah, just needed to break for a sec," he said, agreeing with Nia. He doubted Eoghan or Lilith would would find themselves on the dance floor, but that only meant there would be more space for the two of them instead.

Eoghan was trying not to breath in too deeply as Felix approached looking as though he was something someone had removed from an old drain. It was an effort just to keep his face straight. He wanted to reply to Nia's question outright, to tell them of course they weren't dancing, but he didn't want to see the look on Lilith's face if he protested it. He glanced between Lilith and the boy she seemed not to detest, "I'm not dancing, but you're more than welcome to," he told them both, honestly not wanting to stand in the way of Lilith having a fun evening with her friends. Just because he was her boyfriend, didn't mean he was going to demand she only spend time with him.

Lilith played with the wolf ring on her finger she'd gotten from Eoghan recently and shook her head as Mania asked about dancing. She gave the two of them a small smile. "Don' think we'll be dancing tonight," the Ravenclaw said at the same time as her boyfriend said he wasn't dancing but that she was more than free to.

Nia glanced between the Ravenclaw couple as they spoke out at the same time. Eoghan didn't wan to dance but said they were more than free to while Lilith said no dancing for them tonight? "I mean if you want to you two can dance?" She offered, gesturing to Felix.

The Ravenclaws didn't seem sure about what they wanted, but it was Lilith's hesistation that had Felix springing into action. "We'll be back soon, moro mou," he planted a kiss on Nia's cheek, before grabbing Lilith's hand before anyone in the group could protest.
