For those who are unfamiliar, each birthday, we started asking for your top moments. However, HNZ is getting old. Asking everyone to do their top 20 of one category seems a little daunting; so, we're asking for flexibility! If you want to do your top threads or top 20 characters - go right ahead! But if you need some ideas, here are some categories to consider when listing out your top 20s to make it more manageable:

[Freddie Lagowski]

My current top 10 favourite characters to read or write (in no particular order):

1. Freddie Lagowski - I've just had a lot of muse for him (and Susie)!! It's been a while since I was this inspired by a character, I really missed staying up til stupid o'clock writing because I have too much muse to sleep HAHA
2. Ares Zephyr - this ABSOLUTE LITTLE [redacted] HAHA. He makes me laugh so much. This had me giggling for a good hour. Not to mention Zephie's hybrid IC/OOC trolling, like having Ares laugh-react to Freddie's serious posts and sending me PMs with scary titles. Zephie I'm worried by how easily you can RP this awful child
3. Lilith Ilves - I really, really love Lilith, she's such a sweetheart, I know some of her upcoming plots and I'm super invested in her growth (and there's always just something special about someone's first ever student hehe)
4. Audrey Beauchamp - I adore all of Camilla's characters, but Audrey is just so much fun to read. I love her dialogue too, Camilla is the queen of writing dialogue!!
5. The Westwick Twins 2.0 - pls, Nessie makes me laugh in every single post, and Arachne is adorable, I love the dynamic you guys have going on for them!!!
6. Declan Burke - him constantly losing his pet spider is my favourite running joke right now and I hope it long continues
7. Monty Pendleton, and in particular right now his coming-out plot - I mean, he's on the asexual spectrum, but I've known for about 8 OOC years that there was more to it than that, and I'm so happy he's finally embracing and exploring it <3
8. Professor Edward Pirrip - he's just so loveable, I really enjoy reading him in his lessons, and I hope I can RP with him more hehe
9. Emmett Lancaster - for always making me laugh in wand threads his internal monologue when he's dealing with the kids is hilarious
10. Victoria De Lacey - she is SO well developed, I'm completely in awe of her biography, and she's a joy to read, I can't wait to see who she becomes as she grows!

OOOKKAAYYY I want to share my fav thingies as well (mind you i'm doing this as I go so not in any particular order!) MY APOLOCHEESE I WANTED TO EXPLAIN MOST OF THEM

1. The fact that this site has reignited my love for writing and creating characters (a bit too much even...... don't look at my subacc list....)
2. Lilith Ilves, Mania Athanasiou Only two chars of mine I want to bring up and I don't want them to take too much space from other things soooo SUE ME jk don't actually.) I love both of them but Lilith is very near and dear to my heart as my first child <3 I am very excited to see where the years take her and I love writing her. Mania on the other hand.... well I just like the chaos and absolute menace she can be with her overreacting etc. Excited to see more of her.
3. Peregrine Piper I will say at first I cried everytime I had to write the name bc my dyslexia was fighting me on it but I kinda really love her. She's so fun to read!
4. Cyndi Kingsley.
5. Mate, Date or Slate; It's my fav thing to do randomly slide Killians daughter in and mate or date someone who's currently in school and then get slated.... Anywho I love the game and it's very entertaining!
6. Anagrams; I have always loved puzzles of all kinds and like idk how but somehow I feel like my dyslexia helps me be rly good in anagrams bc the letters start moving anyways soo yeah but I love anagrams! (I am unbeatable on it on Imessage games)
7. STALKING!! Now ok before you go and report me to the authorities, I would like to specify I take great joy in looking through both active and inactive characters; Their threads, bios etc. I love getting a sense of the site's history and even the typists! I love it so if you ever catch me stalking um.... Look away?
8. Profile posts! I love posting random things on profiles at times and having sort of interactions thru them/short convos I can't be asked to fully roleplay!
9. Shouty! I love interacting with everyone OOC in there :') its a real highlight of my day at times!
10. The general community! Now it may come as a surprise but I actually generally struggle a lot with talking to people in fear they won't like me and even if I initially joined to get to write with Zephie mostly I have grown truly fond of the community as a whole and it was from the beginning a very welcoming one I felt like and every question I had was met with answers and clarity which has been nice!
11. History; soo the site is 20-years-old (only 3 years younger than me which is kinda freaky to me lmfao) so it is bound to have some history. I love seeing how there's people that have stuck with the site for YEARS and still keep coming back and that you guys still welcome new people too!
12. The Grey twins AND THE FACT THEY HAVE TWO DIFFERENT FC'S?!? Kiersten you blew my mind with that one!!!
13. Sorting! No need to explain...
14. Felix Layton-King I just really enjoy the characters Zephie makes and Fifi is one of my personal favs to read!
15. The two Lucy's of Ravenclaw! I just love that the team captains are both called Lucy hihi
16. Quidditch pain, I love clicking the button catch snitch and then get YoUr ATteMpT tO cAtCh tHE SnITcH FaIlEd.... ok ty I'll go cry about it, didn't even really want to catch it whatever.........
17. Archane Westwick ngl I have loved watching Daph's characters anyways but Archane is so cute I love her and hope to get to do more with her at some point!
18. Morrie Ayre as awful as she can be I love what Verity is doing with her its kind of funny to follow tbh! (not to mention I loved that one post where she was listing things off and went A) smth and it corrected to the emoji, I still giggle about it!)
19. Finley Mackintosh Baros and Calliope Cartwright IM PUTTING THEM SEPARATELY BC I'M RUNNING OUT OF SPACE FIGHT ME also bc I love the lil trio thing they and Nia had going on! But from the beginning I have loved Finfin's chaotic shenanigans and always late and his dog! Callie I have giggled at from the beginning bc I kept reading it as Calliope catright then Calliope cartright etc etc in the beginning...
20. My time is out but I really loved all of the rose giving posts but more particularly Nia's (yes i did just link them all! Ty nick for the idea on shouty )

as an overachiever and a lover of lists I am going to try to do some specific 20 lists, and to start I have two character based ones.

First is top 20 chars of my own I love to write, this isn't a top 20 of my favorite own characters, but ones I enjoy writing now and have/had muse for.

1. Vanity Mettlestone - I can't help it, I love this girl. She's so fun to write and so fun to make chaos with (shout out to the two separate thieving threads I have with her now)
2. Arachne Westwick - I am honestly flattered she's been on a few lists in this thread, she's so fun to write.
3. Cyrus Thorne - Thank you Kadi for giving me this kid, he's a lot of fun to write.
4. Hazel Ashworth - I love her but I do wish I had a chance to explore her more awful side more.
5. Logan Ashworth - I also love writing him, he sucks but it's so fun.
6. Mason Collins - One of the nextgen kids I'm most excited about, he's going to have so many issues thanks Tristan
7. Anisha Khatri - I miss her at Hogwarts, she was one of my favorites to write.
8. Matt Alcott-Ward - I'm so glad I've been able to have more headmaster plots with him.
9. Eric Holland - He's always been one of my very favorites, honestly.
10. Emery Mettlestone - Snarky quiet nerd, I also miss him at Hogwarts haha.
11. Louis Alcott - He's been fun to write in flying and in general, he sucks too. I think I enjoy characters who aren't great the best.
12. Tristan Collins - My OG 'guy that kind of sucks', I love his development but I also enjoy still making him have bad sides.
13. Tyler Lee - His recent plots have been a lot of fun honestly.
14. Amber Wilson - Always love my OG girl.
15. Gwen Goodwin - ANOTHER char I miss a lot, I should get some plots with her.
16. Diana Holland - Probably the funniest Holland to write.
17. Phoebe Holland - I'm so fond of this family
18. Rose Holland - So yes I am just listing them all
19. Alice Holland - It was fun to write Alice and Rose in the stands (however briefly)
20. Natalia Novak - I also miss her.

[Demetrius Wagner]

Okay I feel like mine is a bit biased based on the time I've been here and who I've roleplayed with. They're also in no particular order (I randomised it, in fact) because that would be very difficult for me. Mostly characters, with some other aspects mixed in.

1. Aine Thompson - She's a force of nature in of itself. Honestly, what I aspire to in terms of character development but also a delight to have roleplayed with with Demetrius.
2. Morrie and Vanity - As much as my Lucy doesn't like Vanity, these two together are an interesting pair. It's fun to read about them, especially the prank on June.
3. Teddy Pirrip - He's another force of nature. It's been a joy to watch him develop, and to interact with him with both Lucy and Aroha.
4. Spin the Bottle Y47 - This was my first spin the bottle event and it was drama and it was fun and it was Lucy Montague discovering her gender preference so it's important to me in that regard.
5. Lilith Ilves - What can I say that hasn't been said? She's a fun character to read. And I'm sure I'm speaking for all of us when I say Faye has been a delight to have on the site as well.
6. Professor Gabrielle Moncrieff - I love her. If I ever decided to be a teacher, I'd want to be her. She just has a way about her that makes history of magic a joy.
7. Aroha last year when she caught the snitch - Okay, self-indulgent, but that was my first time catching a snitch during a game and the excitement I felt was next level when I realised. Despite supporting Ravenclaw...
8. Marley Owens-Lee - Love her. Quite a few of Maria's characters have this beautiful sense of joy and Marley exemplifies this.
9. Amodeus Jones - Admittedly haven't roleplayed with Deus for a bit but he's so fun and this is also an excuse to mention how wonderful Jess was when I first joined and didn't really know what I was doing. Would love to do more with Lucy Montague again.
10. Victoria de Lacey - The psychological dimensions of this character are staggering. Another of what I'm terming a force of nature. Just brilliant development.
11. Enoch Goldewyn - I have a soft spot for him. There's a core to him that's almost impossible for other characters to get to but I want to. It's intriguing.
12. Marnie Frogg - Miss her. She was also a delight. The way she spoke was a great choice - the rambling on and on - it really cemented her character and having characters have particularly ways of speaking is always a challenge to me so I admire it.
13. Professor Kahurangi Josephs - Māori representation!! But also she's just awesome. Brings such a fun vibe too. I love her.
14. Professor Marigold Cooper - I feel like she's underrated probably because she's newish but she is such an interesting professor. I love the Aboriginal Australian representation and the inclusion of language (look, I'm a sucker for indigenous representation, it's my bias lol). Another instance of a character having a distinct way of speaking that's really cool and unique.
15. Ivy Cullen - Love seeing her develop! I have a soft spot for her in that I just want the best for her. She brings out a protective instinct for some reason.
16. Beatrice Grey - I sometimes feel bad because Kanako bullies her but I also love the pep club, I think it's such a fun idea. I feel like she's one to watch for coming years.
17. June Davenport - Who could forget? Another force of nature. I've watched her for what feels like a long time gradually get the power she wants. A fascinating thing to watch.
18. Susie Lagowski - This is a recent one. I'm doing a thread with her, Rosalind, and Cyrus at the moment and she just amuses me in the best way. Love her.
19. Cyrus Thorne - He makes a good straight man for Rosalind's antics but also I love watching him interact with all the girls.
20. Declan Burke - Look, the tarantula thing is just funny to me. I love spiders so I'm on board for it all the way.

3. Amodeus Jones - how he hasn't had a serious accident or gotten lost in some obscure part of the castle never to be seen again, I do not know, but I love this boy
4. Freddie Lagowski - this kid is great, I want many more RPs with him

7. Eurydice Nightray - Morrie has given Eurydice such ridiculously hard time but she looks to be healing which is nice

3. Account switch glitches (other peoples, I find it so annoying when it happens to me)
4. Getting an app approved
5. Going up by one notification while I'm online, then clicking through my characters to work out where the new notification came from
6. Botruckle chuckle (and the reactions but this is my favourite)
7. The dueling tournament
8. Reading and enjoying a RP that I have nothing to do with
9. All the feasts, events and open RPs
10. Starting to run out of ideas, this is just a filler
11. Shouty
12. The OOC area in general
13. Reading about my characters in another characters thoughts
14. Brotherhood vs Heta (my baby)
15. Sorting ceremony and all the new characters
16. Quidditch
