Adorah had never been one for dueling. She still struggled to process how she had let herself be recruited to help proctor, but here she was, trying out new things since Noel was gone for the year. The professor stood near the platform as she looked at the two young duelers and gave them a soft smile. "One of you go to that side and the other over here. You'll bow and then start. The person who wins will advance to the next round. Begin!" she said, making sure she was out of the direct line of spells - hopefully.

The duel begins now. You have 24 hours from this to post your first reply, or face disqualification. Once both duelists have posted, you will have 24 hours from your opponent's post to reply, or be disqualified. Ensure that you use the spell list for guidance on age-appropriate spells, and read over the dueling rules and points system. Please also remember site rules apply, including power/god modding. You can find the site rules here. Duels will run until there is a winner or until 6 IRL days have passed, in which case the winner will be chosen by RNG. If you are knocked out or otherwise disarmed/incapacitated, or if you run out of points, you will lose and the duel will end. Have fun!

Spectators are allowed to post in this topic once per competitor's post, but are forbidden from directly interfering with the duels. Duelers cannot cast spells at the spectators or face disqualification.

Ivy was looking forward to the duelling tourniment. she had won each of her duels last year and had really enjoyed it. She figured fourth year a was a good year. they had a bit of variation of spells but nothing truly deadly like she had seen in some of the matches with older students last year.
when it was her turn to duel she hopped onto the stage and listened as professorZumwalt introduced them before she bowed at both the pofessor and Sofi before raising herwand. Petrificus Totalus" she started. it was an old spell. but a good one to start with.

Sofi arrived on the platform and bowed to Ivy. "Hi" she said quietly. They had dueled before and Sofi knew this would be tough. She just managed to block then sent the Bat-bogey hex.

Ivy smiled at sopi. They had duelled last year, and it had been a fun duel. As Sofi greeted her, she smiled back. "Hello and good luck" she said.
She wasn't that surprised that the Hufflepuff managed to block her spell. and she was intregued at the spell that had come her way. she had always been curious of what that particular spell feltl ike as it sounded so rediculous. and if it ould be worse if you say had a cold. but today was not the day to find out. She raised her wand and deflected it. before another wave and a Rictusempra was on its way back to her.

Sofi had improved quite a bit in one year, she was better at shielding at least. After she blocked, she decided to get a thought off her mind. "Did you see that no one else in our year signed up for the tournament? That makes this the final!" She said, turning red with embarrassment because she might be talking too much. "Stupefy!"
