Daiki had felt real relief when he had been able to join Kairi at the hufflepuff table. Though he had known that any table would've been fine, and that after so long apart they would've managed to continue their friendship, it was nice to not had to worry too much and just have them be sharing a space. He glanced at some of the other students as food appear. "Hi, I'm Daiki," he introduced to someone he did not know.

Everyone seemed to be eating, minding their own business, good, that was how he liked it, and it certainly made his job a lot easier. Still, Vex kept to the rafters at the roof, setting up his little game, one of these days they would think to have someone up in the rafters to ward him off, but that day was thankfully not today, and the non being was going to take it as much in stride as he could. He floated invisibly from rafter to rafter setting up his buckets of slime, waiting for them to fill to the brim and then focusing on the next one, in a few minutes they would tip over and slime everyone currently sitting at any of the tables - including the staff!

Adorah sat at the table looking out over the newly sorted students and familiar faces after the Headmaster finished his introduction. They were eager and excited to see each other. Adorah felt less excited than them, but mostly because she was tired. She had been spending the last few days cleaning and redoing her office. As she sat beside Noel, she helped herself to some roasted vegetables and salad, taking her time to enjoy the free food that she'd been missing for the past year and tried to spot some of her favorite students in the crowd.

One might assume that after many years of attending sorting ceremonies, Gladys would have grown tired of them. But that person would be wrong. The sorting ceremony marked the start of a new school year, and after a long three-month break, a Great Hall brimming with students was a most welcome sight. After all, a school without any pupils could hardly be called a school.

Taking care not to accidentally brush against anyone (a difficult task during these feasts), Gladys floated next to the Ravenclaw table. She watched attentively as the Sorting Hat did its job, studying each newly pronounced Ravenclaw with a critical eye even as she clapped silently for them. There had been times when Gladys had questioned the Hat's decision making, but it was far too early to make any judgements. Once the sorting was over and the customary speeches were given, Gladys glided over to one of the first years and gave them a kind smile. "Welcome to Ravenclaw."

Tempest sulked into a seat as they were ushered into the hall, observing the Sorting Ceremony from afar. She didn't realize how lonely it would feel without her brother at school. Sure, next year, he wouldn't have been there anyway, but the Slytherin now felt more alone than she ever had. She saw June down the table, rolling her eyes as the light caught the girl's new prefect badge. She didn't want to be a prefect, but she also didn't want June to think that she was better than Tempest. As the new students were sorted, Tempest made note of any that might look promising but didn't really see much. After the Headmaster spoke, she grabbed some dessert and slowly ate as she looked around the hall, keeping to herself.
