Angel stretched as he stepped up to the duelling platform, motioning to the two students to join him at opposite ends before surveying the crowd. Content everyone looked ready, he addressed the gathered students. "Welcome to your first round of duelling, let's have a nice clean duel today. The victor will be able to continue on to the rest of the tournament, and the loser will sadly be eliminated. When you're ready, please bow to your opponent and begin!" He said with a flourish, letting the students get started.

The duel begins now. You have 24 hours from this to post your first reply, or face disqualification. Once both duelists have posted, you will have 24 hours from your opponents post to reply, or be disqualified. Ensure that you use the spell list for guidance on age-appropriate spells, and read over the dueling rules and points system. Please also remember site rules apply, including power/god modding. You can find the site rules here. Duels will run until there is a winner or until 6 IRL days have passed, in which case the winner will be chosen by RNG. If you are knocked out or otherwise disarmed/incapacitated, or if you run out of points, you will lose and the duel will end. Have fun!

As an added note: Spectators are allowed to post in this topic once per competitors post, but are forbidden from directly interfering with the duels.

Branson smiled fondly at his friend as he bowed. They were in their seventh year, far beyond cast stupefy as the only spell they could do. He raised his wand and cast with confidence, the tongue tying curse.

Indi hadn't had a chance to process that this was the last tournament she would compete until she took her position on the platform. Organizing the thing had kept her more than busy but it was here and she was trying not to be sentimental about it. She grinned when she saw Branson and bowed. He had been quicker on the draw but she wouldn't be done away with so easily. She quickly cast a shield charm and cast her first spell. "Obscuro!"

Branson blocked her spell with an ease of someone who'd done a number of these. He didn't take long to pick his spell to throw back, and was quickly sending, "Incarcerous"

Indi smirked as Branson sent ropes flying her way. "Diffindo!" she cast and watched as the ropes were cut into useless pieces before they could touch her. A moment later she was firing off her next spell."Incendio!"

Indi made an annoyed sound and took a step back as Branson's spell filled the platform with water. But the distraction was short lived and she was able to cast a shield charm just in time and casting another. "Langlock!"

Anisha wasn't loudly cheering for Indi, she knew it would distract her and likely embarrass her too. But she was watching the duel intently, amazed by how much more dynamic the seventh year duel was compared to the second years. She couldn't wait to learn some of these spells. Quietly, Anisha crossed her fingers, hoping Indi would win.

Indi was starting to loosen up and find her rhythm but out of the corner of her eye she spotted her sister and for a moment her timing was off and she had to sidestep Branson's spell. She grit her teeth and poured her irritation into her next spell. "Confringo!"
