Liusaidh knew there was a lot riding on this, they'd won two years in a row and this would be her final season. She loved quidditch, loved winning. She thought they'd be in a good position, since they were a solid team, who worked well enough together but who hadn't had too much change over the last couple of years. This meant they could have steady consistent plays. Liusaidh wasn't sure why Eleanor was still sticking around but she couldn't exactly stop it but Liusaidh ignored her as she greeted the slytherins looking to join the team. "Right, new people and alternates, give me your name and position, regulars get in the air. We've another cup to win," She didn't want the regulars slacking off just because their positions were certain.

OOCOut of Character:
Welcome to tryouts! For those unfamiliar with how this works, please begin by having your character state their name and the position they're trying out for, followed by RPing them trying out in that position.

Returning team members listed above must post attendance at tryouts to retain their positions, returning alternates must try out again.

First years may not try out without first PMing me for permission, no first years will be allowed to try out unless there are not enough older students to fill the team.

Seamus had been on the team as an alternate for a couple of years now. But he knew until some of the older players graduated there was no way he was getting on to the team. He'd dedicate dhimself to being a beater, was good at it, but it was not a position that he had much luck cracking on to the team with. But it didn't matter, eventually he'd get on the team and he could continue to improve his skills. It was exactly his thought as he arrived on the pitch for try-outs. He rolled his eyes at the captain but the first moment he could stepped forward, "Seamus Reid, Beater," this girl knew who he was, it would be wild if she didn't.

Seamus got on his brand new broom and shot up into the air. He had his beater bat in hand, but flying was no struggle for him. Between the broom and the few years of practice, Seamus flew with no issues. He was quick and fast. moving with the ease of a player who knew what he was doing. Of course he hadn't really yet played a proper game, at least not for long, but his practicing and his skills were good for tryouts. He focused on what he'd learnt about being a beater and sped off to do it. He hit a good number of bludgers within the first section of the try-out, it was still a bit fifty fifty as to if they were on target with him missing more than getting, though the margin was thinner. The second half of the try-out he did a little better. He managed to almost fall off the broom when taking a particularly wide swing which wasn't helped by the fact he missed the bludger he'd been going for. He really hoped the captains hadn't seen that. It would be embarrasing. But Seamus continued to fly around, hitting bludgers and eventually the try-out was wrapped up and Seamus flew to the ground, hopeful that he would keep his alternate position.

Enzo hadn't been allowed to play group sports much growing up, but after spending the last year rather by his lonesome, he figured giving the sport a shot wasn't a bad idea. He'd been to all the games and even read a book to help understand the positions better. While he thought all the positions could work, chaser seemed like his best bet. Making his way on the field, he waited until the older boy went and then looked at the captain. "Enzo Vero, trying out for Chaser," he said, before kicking off. The broom took a moment to steady under his weight before he hovered, waiting to get into the thick of it with some chasers. He caught a pass and flew towards the goal, quickly dropping it as a bludger hit his shoulder. Those things hurt a lot more than he had expected, but he shook it off and went back towards the other chasers, catching another pass and being much more aware of the bludgers this time. While he didn't score, he was doing relatively well in the catching and passing department. At the end of tryouts, he felt okay about it, knowing that his parents wouldn't be too pleased with his effort and the fact he thought sports was a suitable option.

Atlas had failed to make the team the previous year when she had tried out for the first time but she was determined that it would not be the end of her Quidditch journey. She knew making the team would be difficult when one of the positions she played was taken up by one of the co-captains but she wouldn't give up even if she tried out every year with no success, she was perfectly comfortable with failing as long as she never gave up.

Finally, it was her turn so she stepped forward. "Atlas James-Cade, trying out for chaser," She climbed onto her rackety school broom and climbed up into the air with a quaffle in hand. She took turns attempting to shoot goals at the keeper. She missed her first attempt which put her in a foul mood but she knew she had to quickly turn things around if she wanted a chance to make the team. She was successful with the remainder of her shots which made Atlas feel a lot better about her chances of making the team. She returned to the ground and once the tryouts were complete she left the pitch with the rest of the trialists.

Mish was feeling quite confident about Quidditch, all things considered. He'd been practicing all of last year and during the holidays as well and now he was pretty sure that he would be a good addition to the Slytherin team. All he needed to do was try out and hope that the captains saw that he would be good as well. And he didn't see why they wouldn't, he was a great Quidditch player and wanted to be one of the best the school had ever seen. And the only way to prove he was great was to make the team, then he could show everyone during the matches.

Wandering onto the Quidditch pitch there was a grin on his face, broom in one hand and bat slung lazily over his shoulder in the other. His eyes only briefly glanced over the other prospects before it was his turn, standing up a little straighter. "My name is Mischa Falter-Butera and I am trying out for beater." Slinging a leg over his broom, the eager second year kicked off into the air, taking a couple of laps of the pitch to steady himself before bolting right after the first bludger he happened to come across.

The first hit didn't come off quite right, but he didn't let it bother him, feeling a little smugger when he managed to wallop the second bludger much harder. He spent the rest of the practice flying around getting in some good hits and he knew he had done a good job when his arm was starting to ache by the end of it. Now all he had to do was wait and see what happened.

Indi was glad to have quidditch back in her life. At this point she was eager for anything that kept her busy and away from her family. She did also love playing but that felt like an added bonus at this point. She got to the pitch a bit early to warm up before any prospective teammates showed up. As try-outs began she kicked into the air and caught one of the quaffles pretty early on. She kept it tightly under her arm, not wanting any of the newbies to have an easy time if they decided to get bold and steal it from her. But she made it to the hoops easily and it soared past Lucie. She kept up like that for the rest of try-outs and even passed it a couple times to the new kids. None of them were likely going to make the team this year but it was nice for them to get some practice in she guessed.

Ivelisse wasn't too interested in try-outs, although she did wonder if there would be any students wanting to try out as seeker. She knew she wasn't going anywhere but she was curious to see if Avery would return. It didn't really matter much if she could just keep herself from getting knocked out of the games and win them the cup like she had done last year. Ive half-heartedly listened to Liusaidh's speech and got into the air when she was done, flying around and making sure to dodge other players and bludgers as she casually looked for the snitch. It wasn't like there was much pressure during try outs anyways. In the end, she had caught it thrice before try outs were over and she touched back down onto the ground again.

''Dalia Drake, trying out as chaser''. She told her with soft and a little afraid voice. Dalia was not so sure what she was doing here but she was trying find for herself.

Avery had not had as many opportunities to play the previous year, as he had before, but he'd come back again regardless. While he wasn't the most socially engaged with the rest of the team, he did enjoy being there, be it practice or sitting on the sidelines with Seamus during a real match. He had his doubts about securing a permanent position while Ivelisse was around, and it didn't seem like she was going anywhere, but the team needed a backup, and he liked to believe he was good at it.

"Avery Lancaster, Seeker." Avery said as he took his own turn to step up to Liusaidh. He mounted his broom and took to the sky, beginning his search for the fluttering snitch, though it seemed he wasn't the only one in search of it. He had to compete with Ivelisse, and recently, he'd been struggling to keep up with her during practices. Still, he tried, scouring the skies for the familiar glint of gold, regularly pursuing it whenever he could make it out. It was as elusive as ever, though with a lot more on the line, he had to try harder, and landed with a tidy couple of catches before the end of the session. He still hadn't been able to keep pace with Ivelisse, but he felt accomplished in what he'd managed to do.

Ares was keen for Quidditch this year, especially since it will be his last. He thought about it as a career, but knew it would be hard and wasn't sure if it was even really what he wanted to be doing, despite loving the sport almost as much as his boyfriend. He really wanted to do well this year however, and so made his way to the tryouts with a clear head, ready to practice as hard as he could before the first game. It would also give him some idea of the new recruits that could be joining. He gathered around as the captain spoke then was quick to set off to the skies with his beater bat in hand, hitting some bludgers around as some good obstacles for the newbies. Once the session was over he headed back up to the castle for a well deserved warm shower.

Out of everything at Hogwarts, Lucie did look most forward to quidditch. She was quick to head to the tryouts, gathering around with the team and some potential new recruits. She hoped they would be good enough to help them win the cup, as they were definitely due for it. The teen headed into the skies once Liusaidh made the call, making her way in front of the goals and blocking all of the newbie's shots. They weren't all the best, but Lucie supposed they would get better over time. She missed a couple, which was good for them, and hopefully those would be the ones Liusaidh would consider. Soon enough, the tryouts were over and Lucie headed back to the castle.

Natalia knew by now she would likely be an alternate until next year, frustrating as it was. She was a bit tired of trying out for her spot over and over, but she knew she had to do her best. She could still easily be replaced b someone new. Natalia waited for her turn, then spoke. "I'm Natalia Novak, and I'm trying out for chaser." She said, looking at Liusaidh. With that, the girl took to the air. She quickly managed to get her hands on the quaffle, and she flew over to the hoops. Her first attempt to score was blocked, but she managed to grab the quaffle again soon after and scored that time. Natalia scored four more times, and then landed back on the ground. She quietly thanked the captain and then moved to the side to watch the rest of the tryouts.

Celia wasn't sure why Liusaidh was even bothering to hold tryouts. The captain had made it clear last year that everyone on the team would get to keep their spots regardless of skill level, and she would almost certainly take the same approach with the alternates. These "tryouts" were just for show. Celia kind of wished Liusaidh had just held a normal practice instead. She didn't really want to spend the next hour dodging second years who barely knew how to fly, though she supposed it would be good practice for a future match against Ravenclaw.

As Liusaidh spoke, Celia surveyed the new faces, wondering if they were aware of how hopeless their chances were. Clearly not if they'd decided to show up. At Liusaidh's signal, Celia took off and headed for a bludger. She figured she might as well treat this as a normal practice, and she spent the rest of tryouts trying to knock out Ivelisse and Ares. The break had left Celia a little rusty, so whenever she needed a confidence boost, she aimed for one of the newbies, smiling perhaps a little too brightly whenever she hit one.
