[Monty Pendleton]

Monty gestured for the next two contestants to mount the stage, taking a moment to refresh them of the rules before allowing them to begin. He wasn't prepared to stand for any naughtiness today, and surely hoped he would not have to intervene the duel. With any luck, it would be a clean, fair fight.

All right, make sure that you use the spell list for guidance. No board rule breaking is acceptable. Have fun! I have a copy of the code that you should use with every post. Remember, when you are knocked out, unable to shoot anymore spells, you lost. And if you run out of points, you lose.


The duel begins now. If someone doesn't post after 24 hours, they are disqualified.

Rory had done pretty well in the year before and he wanted to do well again this year, if only for his pride. He looked towards who he was fighting, a boy in his house. He didn't know him well, they'd never been friends. The boy held the wand tightly in his hand as they bowed and got ready, and he cast the first spell, casting a non-verbal diffindo spell at him.

It would be embarrassing if Hayden didn't get through the first round of his own clubs tournament, hopefully he'd have enough in him to get passed his fellow first year. After getting the formalities out of the way Hayden raised his wand to start the duel but was caught off guard when he heard a rip in his robes, Hayden groaned and threw his main robe onto the floor and raised his wand again casting a non verbal disarming charm.

Rory was very pleased that his first spell hit. If this was the leader of the club that didn't give him much hope for it. he cast a quick protego around him and then, quickly followed it with "Levicorpus," back at him.

Hayden couldn't believe he had been hit by the first spell shot at him. He needed to do better, he couldn't be knocked out in the first round. Hayden cast a protego to block his opponents next spell and cast a stunning spell at him.

Rory watched the boy cast his protego charm and fire back a simple stunning spell. This would soon get boring. He blocked it and didn't waste time in firing back with "Duro," it wasn't a nice spell so hopefully the other boy would have the good sense to not get hit with this one.
