Y28 Club Fair

Kauri beamed, scribbling down his name on the sheet the older boy presented. "Sweet as." He grinned, pleased to have found a place to make friends so quickly. A group to just hang out and do awesome stuff seemed perfect. "When's the first meeting at?" He asked as he struggled a little with the quill and ink, trying hard not to smear it all over the paper.

As Geo wandered with facination into the Great Hall, she was curious to know what kind of clubs were available for students. "Hey Vil" She said as she spotted the girl out the corner of her eye. The pair really hadn't talked much since Geo's embarrassing misconception in the dormatory, but she was hopeful that one day they'd be friends.

Walking across the hall further to the other stalls, she peered between two that caught her attention. Heta Omega, apparently marketed towards the girls in the school, and the Brotherhood for the rest. As far as she was aware, each group had their own set genders, and she smiled between Maddie and James who headed each table. She loved spending time with Leila's sister over the holidays, but she wanted to learn more about James, especially after hearing he was on the Quidditch Team. Maybe he could help her out afterall. She took a few steps towards the brotherhood table, eyeing up the leaflets and students that were signing up there. "Can I sign up?" She asked, aware of the obvious controversial issue but doing her best to test her new friend on it.

Maddie would have jumped up and down with excitement if she didn't think that it would scare the young Hufflepuff girl in front of her. She settled with a huge grin and nodded at the girl's question "Yep! You're in! Easy as that. Just write your name here and your house and we'll be in touch shortly for the first meeting of the year!" she explained to the girl in front of her.

The fair was starting to get a little busier now and more and more people were milling around the stall and Maddie smiled at each in turn. Soon another girl approached the stall and Maddie grinned at her and nodded along with what her co president was saying. Soon another girl approached "Of course, all years are allowed to join, just jot your name and house down here and we'll been in touch soon" she said, smiling.

Maddie's heart skipped a beat when she saw Olivia walk up to their stall and she felt herself blushing furiously. The two hadn't exactly ended on bad terms but it had been a little awkward between the girls. Maddie still really liked her but could never bring herself to commit fully so she could completely understand why Olivia grew frustrated with her and, in the end, Maddie didn't blame Olivia for breaking up with her. She smiled at the Ravenclaw girl and murmured a little "thanks" and allowed Izzy to lead the conversation with her.

She occasionally glanced over at the brotherhood table and smiled at the amount of people that wanted to join it, James looked really happy and it was nice to see. It wasn't long before Matthew turned up to join the brotherhood and she gave him a wave and a huge smile as he walked past. A younger girl approached the Heta table and Maddie nodded at her and her co president "yeah, no problem! Just write your name and house down here and we'll be in touch with you soon!" she grinned at the girl.

A familiar flash of pink hair entered the room and Maddie squealed in excitement. She left the stall and ran up to the younger girl and scooped her up into a hug "hey Geo! You here to join us in Heta?" she asked beaming. Unfortunately, Geo addressed James and the brotherhood and asked to join them instead. She returned to the Heta stall and watched James as she waited for him to answer Geo's request.

Minerva Khulik had grown up on a farm, a kiwi fruit farm and a wine orchard or vineyard to be more precise. She loved every minute of it and thoroughly enjoyed helping her mother out as well in her business of Yarn making, she never sheared the sheep but did help to dye the lots and hang them for drying. Since the age of five her mother had encouraged her to have her own herb garden and had done like wise with her sister and brothers. She had said it was necessary for when she would begin potion making, knowing herbs and how to grow them, plant them, take care of them was more important that just reading about it from books. She missed that, she knew her mother had promised to keep an eye on the small garden for her but it would have been nice to have a garden like that here at the school. So it was with great delight that Minerva had read about the schools different clubs and the club fair being held in the Great Hall.

She had no intention of joining any other club other than the Wild Patch one, with a name like that they had to have a lot to do with herbs, plants and all sorts of vegetation. She walked through the throng of students to the stall, the walk had taken her what felt like forever as she seriously hated large groups. When she got to the table, two girls similar in appearance seem to be having serious words with a boy. Minerva picked up the quill about to sign but wanted to ask them what sort of things they'd be doing in the club when one of the girls listed them out rather brusquely to the boy.

None of those things sounded appealing to Minerva at all, indeed none of them sounded in any way like what she had thought the club to be about. She looked at the sign up sheet and frowned slightly, laying the quill back down again and hoping she hadn't been seen by anyone at the table, turned and walked away. She could always just ask the herbology professor if she could have use of one of the greenhouses and a patch of fertile ground or a large pot to grow stuff in. That would work surely? With that she made her way back through the crowd again trying not to bump against anyone.

James was glad to see that the boy in front of him was so eager for things to get started, though he couldn't give him any specifics about meetings as of yet. "I will have to get back to you on that, as soon as possible though," He grinned. James beamed as he saw his sisters friend Geo make her way over to the stalls. Maddie seemed happy to see her and seemed eager to get her involved with Heta, but the Hufflepuff instead made her way to James's stand. James was a little taken back when Geo asked if she could sign up. He wasn't sure if he could actually turn her away or not, that would be discrimination, but boys joined the brotherhood, girls joined Heta, that was just how it was. "Errm. you don't think you'd be better off joining Heta Omega with Maddie?" He asked. James had it good authority Jess was planning to swing by and sign up for the sorority, and where there was Jess there would be Leila too. The three would be together in Heta, surely that was the better outcome for the girls.
