Aurora was very excited for the yuleball, and had been for a couple of weeks now, it just seemed impossible that the time was finally upon her. That she was finally at the great hall for the event. In the end, though she could spot lots of girls in very fancy ball gowns, she was dressed in a more summery number. She knew it suited her, knew that it was pretty and felt pretty in it. She'd done her hair up a little and was wearing, just the lightest amount of make up. She glanced to Rosie as they arrived in the hall, squeezing her sister's hand lightly before smiling at her. "Let's get some drinks first," Aurora suggested before moving along to the drinks table, she was taking in the room, but was mostly focused one getting them both something to drink.

Rosie was very excited for the dance, not likely for the same reasons as she know Aurora was, but Rosie just couldn't wait. Immediately upon entering the room everything was taking her attention, from the decorations, to the food and drink, to the way people were dressed. Everyone looked so pretty! She smiled and Aurora and let her pull her towards the drinks table. "Can we dance afterwards?" she asked as she took a drink. "I really want to dance," she said and she was sure the answer would be yes but Rosie was still going to make it known so it was definitely on the agenda for what they'd do next.

Soren had already known really that he would find the twins again for the dance. Tossing on his suit and spending much too long styling his hair, he sauntered down to the ball. He spotted Aurora and Rosie easily enough. He spotted Rosie's friend straggling a bit away, looking nervous, and he made a point of snagging Xinyi and pulling the other boy with him over to the girls. "Awww, Rosie, you weren't gunna dance without us, were you?" He teased, dropping Xinyi by her and moving to Aurora's side, laying his arm over her shoulders and picking up a drink. "You ladies look lovely this evening," He complimented them, sipping his juice.

Xinyi was undeniably nervous. He didn't want to be here. But he wanted to see Rosie. Eventually he managed to make it to the dance, feeling out of place in his too large shirt. Everyone else looked nice. He spotted Aurora and Rosie fairly quickly, but he hesitated, too shy to approach. She wouldn't even want to see him, why should he disturb them? He had just decided to leave when suddenly he was being pulled along by one of his roommates. "S-s-soren," Xinyi tried to protest. He didn't have any time to even attempt to get away before he was next to Rosie.

Blushing, he cleared his throat, fiddling with his sleeves. "Er- I, um, he's right, you- you look beautiful," He managed shyly. He was a little jealous of Soren, able to just throw his arm around Aurora. And he was a little jealous of her too, so easily able to hold Rosie's hand. He looked away, fidgeting nervously.

Aurora looked towards the people dancing and then back at Rosie before grinning widely. "Definitely!" she agreed, just as both Soren and Xinyi joined them. She smiled at them both, though admittedly she didn't know Xinyi well in comparison to Soren. She shook her head in response. "We can all dance together!" she agreed, "Thanks Soren, Xinyi, you both look great too," Aurora replied. She was sure if she should call them lovely as soren had or handsome, but both Aurora felt would've been odd coming from her mouth.

Rosie was watching as other kids dance, she really wanted to just start dancing, it would be so fun to be in amongst it and not just stood on the sidelines. She looked back when they were joined by Soren and Xinyi, she got the impression they'd always see each other at these celebrations while she and Aurora insisted on actually going together. She blushed lightly at Soren's compliment and then Xinyi's too. There was a little beat of silence and Rosie decided enough, "Let's go dance," she let go of her sister's hand and went to take Xinyi's hand so she could drag him out to the dancefloor and so they could get to dancing.

Isadora had never dressed up by herself, really. Sometimes her nanny or mother did her hair for a party or event, and she usually had to wear a stiff and itchy dress, but this was the first time Isadora had picked her own clothes and hair for a fancy event. To her delight, the Yule Ball wasn't that fancy. Everyone was in dresses or dress robes, but the music wasn't boring and most people seemed to be having fun. She looked around eagerly for someone familiar, wondering if Cameron and Margo were hanging around somewhere. Instead, she spotted a few of her roommates with a few other kids. She decided to head over, at least for a little bit. They were heading to the dance floor, which was fun. "Hey Rosie, Aurora, Soren." She said, waving at them. She hadn't really talked to Soren much, but they were classmates so she knew his name. "Hi other boy." She added, waving at the older boy. "This is pretty cool, right?"

Soren smiled brightly, looking between the twins. Dancing it was then. Before they got far, Isadora showed up. He flashed her a smile. "Hey, Isa!" He greeted, turning a bit to face her and offering out her other hand. "You look great," He complimented her, looking to the others. "We're building a good group here," He smiled.

Xinyi blushed as Aurora complimented him, giving her a shy smile. He was going to agree with Rosie that they should dance, but his heart felt like it stopped when she took his hand. He gingerly wrapped his fingers around hers, afraid she would pull away at any moment. Why did such a simple thing feel so monumental to him? Before anything else could happen, another girl approached. He turned to look at her, smiling shyly, but his heart dropped into his toes at her greeting. He felt oddly out of place now. Without meaning to, he took a small step behind Rosie, looking to the newcomer with a shy expression, rubbing the back of his neck.

Aurora was excited to get dancing and knew that Rosie was a second away from breaking off on her own to go dancing. She smiled at Isadora and waved excitedly at her, "That's Xinyi! He's in the year above us but the same house," she introduced himself quickly. "We're going to dance, so let's go!" she moved toward the dance floor, moving out from Soren's arm, and as soon as she was close enough to the dance floor Aurora began dancing. She wasn't going to dance fancy but she had a group of friends, and had to imagine that they'd end up doing what everyone seemed to do in muggle dances, of form an odd circle and dance together, but she didn't care, just getting to dancing. She hadn't said anything, but she agreed with Soren's statement, this was a good group, a good amount of people to hang out with and dance with.

Rosie stopped moving towards the dance floor as Isadora joined them, 'You look pretty Isadora!" she complimented and kept her grip on Xinyi's hand as Aurora introduced him to Isadora. She felt him moving in a little behind her, and could figure this was both probably a lot and a little difficult since they all knew each other and his point of connection was her, though she liked to think that Aurora and Xinyi were friends too. She smiled at her sister, relieved that she continued to go dance. She motioned for Soren and Isadora to join them, but went to join her sister pulling Xinyi with her as she did so. She kept a light grip on his hand but joined her sister in dancing, a wide smile on her lips. She knew she'd always love these dances because dancing with friends was always going to be so much fun.

god mod approved.

Isadora blinked when Soren called her by a nickname, but she decided after a moment that she liked it. She grinned, glad to be part of a group. She felt a bt bad when the other boy seemed nervous about what she had said, so when Aurora introduced him, she turned to him. "Nice to meet you Xinyi!" She said, before following the group to the dance floor. She beamed at Rosie and twirled in her dress. "Thanks!" She said brightly. She found out twirling was pretty fun, so she did it a few more times. Until she was a little dizzy. She stumbled a few steps, laughing.

Soren noticed the way that Xinyi ducked behind Rosie, and it reminded him oddly of Slate. He made a note to himself to check up on his brother later. And his sister. Though she was easier to find than he was. He followed the others out to the dance floor, laughing and dancing. He looked like a goof, but he didn't mind. He was having fun.

Xinyi felt like his heart was just going to explode. He kept his hold on Rosie's hand, swaying in place more than he was actually dancing. He didn't say much, almost starting to wonder if he shouldn't have come. He felt out of place, but Rosie's hand in his was also keeping him in place, grounding him a bit.

Aurora just continued dancing with her friends. She knew that others would probably want to dance with partner, or be on a date, but she was having so much fun with her sister and friends. They were a good group in her mind, just a good bunch of friends. She giggled lightly watching Isadora spin around, and then did a little of the same, spinning on the spot, though not as much as Isadora had. Just doing it enough to get a little dizzy but not so much to stumble. This was so much fun.

Rosie was enjoying dancing with her friends, she was keeping a little eye contact with Xinyi, since she could tell he was perhaps a little more nervous about it than she was. She was enjoying the simple dancing with her friends. She was jumping up and down a lot, quite pleased to not at all be following the rhythm of everything. It was just so much fun. She knew that she'd be exhausted on the train back home, but it would be so worth it.

Once Isadora stopped feeling dizzy, she spun again, pulling Soren along iwth her for a bit. She had never really talked to him before, but he seemed like a nice guy. She jumped up and down after twirling, waving her arms around. This had very little to do with the dancing she had been taught since she was young, but it was so much more fun. Isadora knew Natalia would be horrified if she saw her, which only made her want to keep dancing.

Slate arrived at the great hall hesitantly. He wondered if he could avoid attending the event like the last time and just hid in the library but his mother sent him a suit to wear. He was pretty sure she asked Aunt Mallory to sneak a photo. He looked around to see whether Sadie or Soren was already there. He was about to head over to the snack table for some drinks when he saw a small group by the dance floor, quickly spotting Soren among them. The Ravenclaw smiled as he looked at them having fun. The twins were also there along with one other Gryffindor and Isadora.

Chaos. Utter chaos. Soren loved it. He found himself being pulled by Isa, and made a point of hopping around with her for a bit. It wasn't long, though, before he spotted a familiar face nearby. With a brotherly shout, he bolted from the group, snatched his brothers arm, and dragged him back to the others, pushing Slate into the mix and laughing loudly as he danced, loving that he could shake his hips and no one would care.

Xinyi was slowly starting to relax, almost smiling as Soren dashed off to pull another boy back. He kept close to Rosie, copying her motion and spinning a bit himself. It was a bad idea, as he stumbled, but one of the others was quick to help him catch his balance. He laughed, his confidence boosted by the fact that no one made fun of him, and started to actually dance along with the others.

Aurora was very lost in her dancing, she was a little confused when she spotted Soren leaving but the confusion was quickly gone as it appeared he was grabbing one of his siblings to join them. She wasn't sure if she should try and say anything, it didn't seem like any of them were interested in talking, they were just interested in dancing and Aurora was quite happy to just keep doing that until one of the stopped. Dancing was easy, it was fun and provided there were no slow songs they'd be fine. But even at that, a slow song wouldn't be the worst thing.

Rosie liked dancing with her friends and with Xinyi. She spotted that he stumbled a little, but seemed to recover quickly and Rosie was glad, she knew that Xinyi being older probably would end up feeling a little like an outsider, but she enjoyed watching his dance with them, let loose and just have fun. They were having fun, giggling and laughing louder than most would and just really really letting themselves be free. That was what Rosie wanted to do, dancing in her mind was not about being graceful, it was about just letting the body move and be free.
