Nicolas King entered the Great Hall in Hogwarts dress robes as an employee of the school once more, despite having left the school over a year prior. Cecily Rambolt had request he return to the school for a two-fold reason, so he'd agreed, with some degree of inner reluctance, and here he was - sorting students once more. He looked about the hall and saw that the House Elves had, once again, taken care of all sorting preparations. On the raised platform with the podium and the staff table was now also the three-legged stool with the sorting hat atop it. Nicolas smiled and walked hastily to the front of the hall, approaching the podium and setting his parchment down on it. One roll of parchment had his address to the school while the other had his list of student names for sorting. He read over his speech once before he took a seat at the middle of the staff table and waited patiently for everybody else to appear.

First school staff appeared in the hall, occupying the head table with him and making polite conversation amongst themselves. Most were surprised to see he'd returned, but some had known beforehand and simply welcomed him back. Nicolas made a point to get to know the names of staff that had been hired in his absence. Then, current students assembled into the hall by house, quickly filling each house table. It was sad to see some familiar faces had disappeared from the crowd, but Nicolas knew that in a matter of moments many new faces would be appearing. Soon footsteps could be heard exiting the antechamber opposite the Great Hall and moments later the doors of the Great Hall creaked open. A swarm of new first years entered the hall, cautiously wandered down the middle row and toward the front of the hall. Nicolas smiled warmly toward them, only being able to imagine the kind of emotions they were feeling right now, before he stood up from his chair anad approached the podium.

"Welcome back!" Nicolas began, a warm smile on his face as he looked out to all the house tables, "And welcome for the first time" Nicolas continued, his gaze moving to the sea of unsorted students before him. "As most of you should know - I am Professor Nicolas King and I am your Headmaster. Sitting directly behind me, " Nicolas motioned toward the staff table, "Is your Headmistress - Professor Cecily Rambolt." Figuring that was sufficient for now Nicolas unrolled the second piece of parchment and looked once more at the unsorted students, "I know you're all very anxious so I will get this over with quickly. I will call your name, then you will come forward and sit on the stool. I will place the Sorting Hat on your head, then he will sort you into the house you most belong in. Once you're sorted, your house table will cheer for you and you'll join them at the table. It's that simple. Now, let's begin." Nicolas began to read through the list of names, each student coming forth at the proper time, having the hat placed on their head, and being sorted into their house.

Once every student was sorted Nicolas returned to behind the podium and looked to his first piece of parchment. "Before we begin, it is a tradition of Hogwarts to sing our School Song, inherited from our parent academy in Scotland - so if you'll all join in that would be most appreciated." Immediately the Great Hall was filled with hundreds of voices all singing the same song but to whatever tune they pleased. Nicolas himself chose to sing to the tune of a classic muggle song he'd learned about rather recently.
Hogwarts, Hogwarts, Hoggy Warty Hogwarts,
Teach us something, please,
Whether we be old and bald
Or young with scabby knees,
Our heads could do with filling
With some interesting stuff,
For now they're bare and full of air,
Dead flies and bits of fluff,
So teach us things worth knowing,
Bring back what we've forgot,
Just do your best, we'll do the rest,
And learn until our brains all rot.
When the song concluded Nicolas motioned for everybody to settle back down and he cleared his throat to address the assembled body. "Thank you. Now, there are a few orders of business before we feast. First is that we are very pleased to be welcoming several new professors to our staff, so if you see them about the school be sure to welcome them. Next, is that the Ministry of Magic has removed Scott Pollard from his position at Hogwarts because of my return - you may all thank me later." Nicolas joked light heartedly, hearing the laughter echo about the hall he smiled before continuing, "On a more serious note - it has come to our attention that some mischief is already occurring on the grounds. I will remind you all but once that first years are not Quaffles and are not to be used as such." A few giggles were heard from some brutish looking Slytherins, Nicolas glared at them coldly before he spoke once again, "Finally - the Forbidden Forest is Forbidden for a reason and you would all do well to stay far from it. With that all out of the way, welcome once more to a wonderful year at Hogwarts, and Let the Feast Begin!" Nicolas clapped his hands together and trays of food appeared on every table, ready to be devoured by the hungry masses around them.

Out of Character:
As stated in the Information about Sorting thread, you must fill out the sorting form entirely properly and fill in an RP as exemplified in the post. If your RP does not leave room for the sorting hat to sort you: you will not be sorted. If the sorting hat does not receive your sorting form: you will not be sorted.
Follow instructions and: you will be sorted.

You can edit your post once you are sorted, but be sure that you only reply to this topic once and it is through the sorting form provided. Thank you.

It comes but once, but once each year,
When, I, the sorting hat appear.
I appear to sort the latest batch,
To look within and find a match.
To seek the person who does reside,
Beneath the skin, deep down inside.

Rest assured, I do take care,
To avoid mistakes and always be fair,
Because I know my duty is very great,
The decisions I make affecting fate.
So do not approach with a sense of fear,
Embarrassed when seated upon your rear.
And when I’m placed upon your head,
Your thoughts should not be full of dread.
Approach with confidence, pure and true,
Give me the chance to honour you.

Those who step forth brave with pride,
Likely in Gryffindor they will reside.
Fire and Lion, scarlet and gold,
A house of friends, strong and bold.

Hard working kids who value fair play,
May find that Hufflepuff is where they stay.
The Earth and Badger, yellow and black.
Loyalty and tolerance, keep them on track.

Creativity and intelligence will help some soar,
Above the rest to Ravenclaw’s door.
Air and Eagle, bronze and blue.
The wisdom to make dreams come true.

And finally those, resourceful and cunning,
Ambitious and powerful are in the running.
They’ll join the house of silver and green,
Where water and serpents stage the scene.

Now, one last thing, please take heed,
Here is some advice that you may need.
This school has grown in a short time,
So have mistakes and heinous crime.
A challenge to all present, to look within,
No matter the house I've placed you in.
To do your best and persevere,
To use your strengths and face your fear.

The time has come, no more delay,
I call you forth, come on, let’s play.

Emmett walked excitedly into the great hall, bouncing almost. He watched in awe as a hat sang a song! That was amazing! Emmett had been smiling all day he was so happy to be here. Watching as the students got sorted one by one Emmett finally heard "McCarty, Emmett". Speed walking up to the stool he sat down and put that hat on his head, I can't believe this! A talking mind reading hat! This is soooo awesome!" he thought his grin getting bigger by the second.

"You could do well in nearly any house - but your tendency to look out for yourself puts you in SLYTHERIN!"

There Luke sat. He was beyond nervous for he was finally in Hogwarts getting ready for being sorted. There was a ton load of other students but for now all he cared about was him. As the headmaster introduced himself, Luke took heed of his words about the forbidden forest. After the talk, the sorting began. Other names were called and then finally. Luke Howard James Todd III!"

Luke almost froze. Without thinking he quickly got up and made his way to the hat. There Luke sat on the stool. He was beyond scared. Quickly he thought, "Anything but Slytherin. I'd rather be placed in a house were I shall exceed and be around those who are willing to help out anyone no matter what the cost. I shall do the same for them." Luke was doing his best to not break out in a sweat. All he needed was the booming words of the Sorting Hat to make him feel better.

"You're a noble one, and nobility does well in GRYFFINDOR!"

Damian entered the Great Hall, his multicolored hair tickling his shoulders. His teal colored eyes glanced around the school. Everything looked so foreign to the German lad. New school. New people. New country. Damian was not nervous about the sorting. He barely knew anything about Hogwarts. What color attracted his eyes the most was blue and red. Damian hoped to get into one of them. Upon hearing his name, Damian made his way to the front and felt the hat upon his head. The German punk gazed over the crowd without a thought in mind.

"Blue and red, you like? Well you'd do well in both Ravenclaw and Gryffindor. Alright, well it's got to be one of the two.... GRYFFINDOR!"

Charlene gulped down the blob that was forming in her throat as she shuffled her feet, waiting to be sorted. She and the other first years were standing in line. Names were being called out from a roster and they would come to Charlene soon...She glanced around her at the Great Hall. Her mother would always tell her about it, but she never imagined it to be this grand.

"Jung, Charlene!"

Charlene turned swiftly toward the front of the hall, almost falling over in the process. She heard a few snickers among the older students and a blush rose over her fair cheeks. She walked quickly toward the stool set in the front of the hall, and despite her nervousness, she couldn't keep the rising grin off her face. Charlene put her hand to her mouth in an effort to cover it. Why did things like this have to happen to her in the worst situations.

Finally, she reached the stool and sat down. The Sorting Hat was pulled over her head and she held her breath, waiting for its answer...

"Your passion, bravery, and love of a good challenge places you in GRYFFINDOR!"

As I sit there waiting to be sort...

"Your intelligence places you in none other than RAVENCLAW!"

Nick was happy to be in school. He was around a lot of different kids. He remembered a few of them along the way to the school. He said hi and talked about how excited he was. Of course, Nick was nervous about all this but then again, who wasn't?
As he sat, he listened to the Head Master give his speech. "Hm...Forbidden forest...wonder why its so bad. Maybe I'll go there for myself one day."

Without realizing it, the sorting hat had called his name..three times at that matter. As he walked up to the stool, Nick kept a straight face and was confident. He thought quickly, "Sorry about not coming up the first time. I was just thinking about something and was too deep in thought." He knew the hat would understand. After his apology, Nick sat waiting for the Sorting Hat to give its answer.

"I can see you wish to be in Ravenclaw - but I know your truth path runs through GRYFFINDOR!"

Mackenna Rose Matthews walked into the Great Hall with the rest of the anxious first years. She looked around, trying to take in all the sights at once, but of course that was impossible. Her eyes scanned the room full of mostly friendly, but some not so friendly, faces. She noticed the far table, the Slytherins, and shivered. The negative, evil vibe she got from some of those students made her skin crawl.

As Mackenna waited in line she was both excited and nervous. This was such a new experience for her, and she hoped beyond anything that she could prove herself to be a caring, kind, brave and loyal witch. She knew that Hogwarts was the place for her, and now it was time to find out which "family" she would belong to in this, the magical, world.

"Mackenna Matthews!" She shook just a bit as she walked up, sat on the stool and placed the old, worn hat on her head. She smiled as bravery kicked in, her fears being calmed. Now all that was left was to enjoy the ride!

"Mackenna... Hmmm... You're quite caring and loyal - Helga would like you a lot. That's it. HUFFLEPUFF!"

Klaus walked into the great hall with the rest of the students. He looked around at all the people in the hall. It didn't make him nervous to go up in front of them, it would be like when he played a concert. Watching silently Klaus walked up when he heard his name called. Once he walked up he sat on the stool and the old hat was placed over his gold hair, Please Mr. Hat, put me in a house that would make my dad proud... Klaus thought worriedly.

"Though I don't know what your father would want - your sense of duty tells me you'll fit in well in HUFFLEPUFF!"

"Martinez, Anita!" Anita heard the headmaster call. She stood amongst the crowd, she was excited for the sorting of course but still dreadfully nervous. She took a few slow steps towards the stool and looked amongst her, a few familiar faces spotted through the fog of people but most were brand new, older, and intimidating as she sat down on the wodden stool and felt the old ragged hat being slipped on over her head. She closed her eyes as the brim of the hat flopped over her face blocking her vision once she opened her eyes again. It was then that she began her pleading with the hat, trying her best to keep it in English. Please put me in Gryffindor or Ravenclaw... Gryffindor sounds like an amazing house.... But I already have friends in Ravenclaw. Oh who am I kidding you're going to put me where I belong no matter what. But if you decide it's close. I'd love Gryffindor most kind sorting hat. she thought as she awaited the wise hats decision.

"You're a tough one. Three houses would fit you well, but I'm going to go with my stuffing on this one and say RAVENCLAW!"

Kamaria (also known as Kara) Clarie Zhefarovich stood in the Great Hall beside her twin brother, Levi. Her delicate hands held a fantasy book that caught her wildest imagination. Her light stormy eyes scanned over the words, and wondered how amazing it would be to be able to perform such tasks like riding a dragon. Oh how lovely that would be! The pure-blood smiled softly, her pink lips in contrast with her pale skin. Her blonde hair was wavy and barely touched her shoulders. She was unaware of the fact that she had family here, but her twin was all she really cared about. Kara glanced up and wandered when it would be her own turn to get sorted. She read some information over Hogwarts and she found Ravenclaw most attractive.

Kara sincerely wished that she would be in Ravenclaw. Slytherin was too bland for her, and she did not want to follow the Grimrar traditions. She wanted to be different. Upon hearing her name called out, she closed the book and marked the page. She approached the designated area and sat down, folding her hands over her book as the hat was placed upon her head. Kara whispered in her mind, I do not wish to be in Slytherin, but will you place me in a more suitable house? Though even she knew that the hat knew more than it appeared. Kara had faith that wherever it placed her, she would do the best in.

"You want Ravenclaw? Ravenclaw it is. That's right - RAVENCLAW!"

Levi stood next to his twin sister, with a lazy expression upon his features. His stormy eyes were dark as he stared ahead. He did not like the fact that he was going to school with people who weren't very 'pure'. His mother drilled the ways of purity into his head and he acted no different. With his arms across his chest, he stared ahead as the students got sorted. He bent his arm around and scratched the blonde head of his. He looked like his sister, but he had a meaner expression over his face. Yawning, he watched his sister get sorted and he shrugged it off. What was on Levi's mind was simple. Get sorted and go relax. Relaxing cures the soul.

Levi's piercing gaze landed on the front when he heard his name. Trying to have some interest in this event, he approached the front and felt the hat upon his head. Levi glared over the crowd, and wondered which ones would be his future classmates. Yawning once more, he also wondered how long seven years would be before he was out on his own. Levi still had no clue on what he wanted to be. Maybe a Potions Master or something. But it had to be someone good in order to spark the pure-blood's interest. Levi blinked several times, and waited patiently to be sorted.

"SLYTHERIN!"

James stepped in the magnificent great hall, the long tables filled with students chatting away, he was nervous but still confident at the same time. His blonde hair was in a mess as he had no chance to fix it up, like he wanted to anyway. He smiled looking around at the tables, noticing one color, the color of his hair, Gold. He wanted Hufflepuff but he just wanted to be in a house where he could be himself, not like at his old school. He walked in between the tables with the other first years when he sees the sorting hat. He begins to contemplate what he wants to do here, which house he wants to be in and what teachers would he have.

After Professor King had spoken, James waited, despite being very impatient he managed to wait. He smiled when his name was called.

GARDNER, JAMES

This is where he really got nervous, he pushed through a few other first years and then lifted up the hat and sat down, he put the hat on his head and mulled the sorting over, Hufflepuff please, I love Gold. He smiles as he rolls his eyes up, confident as the sorting hat continues thinking...

"Hufflepuff? But Gryffindor suits you so well. Fine. You want Hufflepuff, you've got it - but you could have been a lion. HUFFLEPUFF!"

Jake walked into the hall and took a seat next to Angela and Valiant, whom he had met around the area. They began talking when suddenly a booming voice called out,"Good evening, future students. Thank you for coming tonight for sorting." Jake listened as he, whom he assumed was the headmaster, called out names. Finally he called "Saylye, Jake". Jake walked up and grimaced. He pulled the hat over his head before anyone could see him blush. He hoped it would be over quickly.

"Slytherin or Ravenclaw? You've got no drive to study at all, boy! You're not a Ravenclaw! SLYTHERIN!"

Caitlyn walked with the rest of the first year students to the front of the Great Hall. The Hall was beyong anything she'd ever imagined in her wildest dreams. The ceiling reflected the clear night sky perfetly, and smiled slightly when she saw a shooting star trail across it. Reaching their destiation, she looked around at all the older students staring at them, and bowed her head, letting her hair fall in front of her face. She listened to A-R get sorted, and the first few 'S's be sorted.
"Scott, Caitlyn" A voice said, making her look up at the raised step where the stool and hat stood.

Making her way through the remaining first years, she walked up the steps and sat down on the stool. Caitlyn didn't know what to feel. Should she be dreading this decision, or be excited about it? It could change her life's course after all. She sat and awaited the hat's decision, trying not to look at all the faces staring at her.

"Just be sure to study and you'll be a perfect fit for RAVENCLAW!"

Smoothing her dark brown curls - her mother had insisted on doing her hair the day she had to go to Hogwarts - Charlotte followed the rest of her classmates in to the Great Hall of Hogwarts New Zealand. Impressed, Charlotte looked around the room, in awe. She had to stop herself from whistling, or gaping. Wow, this is nothing like my old school! she thought. Not even like high school! She had expected something along the lines of what her high school - an upper-class Sydney girl's school - was like. But she was wrong. Hogwarts was a grand old castle, a beautiful one at that, with four long tables filled with students, a table for staff members, and the ceiling! It looked just like the night sky! It took a lot of self-control for Charlotte not to stand and stare up at the night sky on the ceiling.

As the students were called, Charlotte sighed as she realised they were going in alphabetical order. By last name. W was quite close to the end. The group thinned and thinned, until she was one of the few people left. Which was when the nerves hit. What's the hat going to say about me? she wondered. Truthfully, she didn't care that everyone was watching her, or what house she was put in. It was what the hat would say about her that worried her the most.

"Wilson, Charlotte!"

Taking a deep breath, Charlotte, with her shoulders back and her head held high, walked forward to the stool with the sorting hat placed on it. Smiling at the professor, she looked bravely out at the assembled students, until the brim of the hat fell across her eyes and she could no longer see.

"You, my dear, are without a doubt a GRYFFINDOR!"

Sam leaned slightly to the left in order to see the sorting hat. He was met with another student's head who was doing just the same. With a sigh of exasperation, he stuffed his hands into his pockets and shuffled his feet about awkwardly.
Little tremors ran through his hands as he thought of the hat. Trying to be as rational as he possibly could about the entire situation, Sam closed his eyes and tried to pick a favourite house. He'd heard that sometimes the hat would take your personal preference into account. Not that it mattered. He was an absolutely shocking liar. Despite any wish that he would be in Gryffindor, it was never going to happen. Sam could only pretend to be brave. Thinking himself a useless lump in general, he sighed to himself, shuffling forward as the line moved up.
'Although...' he thought to himself. 'I am rather good at potions, I must say. Perhaps that is a Slytherin trait.'
He was not entirely convinced of this. Certainly not always, but in general, Slytherin's were pure blood's. If you didn't even know your own blood status, how could you make any decision based on it? Shaking his head to himself and stepping up again, he jumped as his name was called.
"Sykes, Sam!"
'Bugger!' he commented to himself.
Tall for his age, he walked with an awkward sort of lope, his shoulders hunched slightly under the eyes of his future peers. Scratching his nose, he looked down at the hat.
'Bugger.' he said again to himself.
With gentle hands, he lifted the hat, turned around to sit on the stool, and placed it on his head. Not a thought ran through his mind. Not a plea, nor an exclamation. Just calm tranquility as he waited for the 'verdict'.

"You're a HUFFLEPUFF!"

Smiling and nodding to himself, he waved at the table of his new house and took a seat.

Lily followed at the back of the line as the students walked into the Great Hall. It's not that Great Lily thought to herself. She was still pretty angry that she was here, if she had stayed at the dance school, Lily would've been able to practice a dance or learn a new one. Lily would've rather been in double maths than at Hogwarts. She looked around herself. So many witches and Wizards. No one would believe that there were this many witches and wizards in New Zealand. It seemed like the entire young community of a medium sized city was here. Lily looked at the long line of her fellow students. She was going to be stuck with these people for the next 7 years. If I last that long Lily thought to herself. Lily wondered which house was which. Since she had no previous experience in the magical world, to her they were just colours. She thought that the house Gryffindor, was the ones in red. Maybe the hufflepuff house was the yellow. Blue for Ravenclaw. Which left Green for Slytherin. Lily if she had to pick house based on colour, it would be a competition between the Green Slytherin or Blue Ravenclaw. She thought she looked equally good in both. The line stopped at the front of the hall. Lily pushed her way towards the front and saw that there was a stool with a hat.

Lily looked away from the hat, as the head master began speaking. She wasn't really listening, her hazel eyes were too busy flicking between the hat and the head master. A hat was going to sort her. Lily was beginning to get worried. A hat. This was ridiculous. She could've collapsed in shock as the hat began to sing. This was all wrong. Hats weren't meant to sing. They weren't meant to say anything. They were meant to look good on people's heads. This was stupid. Lily couldn't believe it. She was tempted to pinch herself. This was some stupid nightmare. In the normal, non magical world everything was so much simpler. Lily got the feeling of just running. Just not bothering with it. Put Lily wanted to stick with it. She brushed down her black skirt. This was just like another show. A long show, she had to smile and pretend that every step was actually a dance step. Lily then began to worry about something else. Her name. Would Livia Delaney be said or Lily Fossil. Would the school be aware of the fact that Lily went by another name. Lily hadn't planned to introduce herself to any of these people as Lily. Well, she'd know soon enough, D was before F and it was high up in the order. A, came and went. B, C. D. Lily was now very nervous. She just wanted it to be over with.

"Delaney, Livia." The Head Master said.

Lily let out a sigh of relief. She straighten the black hair band in her hair, before stepping forward. She sat down on the small stool, and looked to her fellow classmates. She recognised a few. More than a few Lily didn't like one bit. She was surprised at how many people she'd meet were witches and wizards. How many she didn't really like. Lily had made a couple of enemies. Still she smiled confidently and looked confident. She looked to the table, the four long tables. She looked over to Slytherin. The ones in Green, maybe she did belong with them. They all seemed like a good bunch. Lily could see herself with them. But Maybe Ravenclaw. They were the smart ones if she remember. Lily thought of herself as pretty smart. Would she be better there. The hat was placed on her head. She kept looking forward. Looking confident. She was pretty sure this hat could hear her thoughts, so maybe a few instructions of where she should be wouldn't hurt. Dear Mr Hat, Place me anywhere. But green and blue suit me best. But in the end it's all your choice Lily thought to the hat. Now all she had to do was wait.

"Yes - there's little doubt about you. SLYTHERIN!"

Robyn opened her make-up bag and applied some last-minute mascara. She had to look good for her big thing. Everyone was going to love her, she thought, no matter what house she was put in.
Another name, another minute passed.
Finally, her name was called.
"Robyn Sky Mikal!". She winced. She hated her surname. Walking up to the seat, she turned her head and looked at everybody. Wow, she thought. I am the odd one out here. She flicked her hair and sat on the stool. She hated the idea of a dusty hat ruining her hair, but she didn't argue.
Robyn crossed her fingers behind her back, shut her eyes, and mouthed 'Please not gryffindor, Please'

Then, the sorting hat spoke.
"No, not Gryffindor. How about RAVENCLAW!?"

It was the time, Mikkel is going to be sorted today, she was kinda nervous about it. She isn't comfortable with all the looks the older students where giving her, while walking up in the front; a tall and handsome man spoke with the year starting. While the man was talking, she took a glimpse at the other students, others were smiling half are smirking and the other half where just looking at the man. When Mikkel didn't realized that the man stopped talking, he was now calling names and the others that called are sitting at the a stool and an old hat was placed at the top of their heads.

"Von Gaunt, Mikkel." Called the man in the hall.

It was her time to sit at that stool and be sorted, Mikkel walked up the three steps and sat at the tall stool, lucky she is tall. She first looked at the man and gulped really loud that the man can hear, Mikkel looked at the many faces and then took a deep breath. She closed her eyes and the hat was slowly placed to her head, please, Mr. Handsome Hat. Put me to the right direction of my life. You held our future house. as she thought this, the hat was moving.....

"Mr. Handsome Hat? That's new. Well, just by your kindness I have to put you in HUFFLEPUFF!"

Lav crossed her arms and sighed. Boring, she thought. She flicked somebody with an elastic band and laughed. Flicking her long black hair behind her, she heard her name get called out.

"Lavender Oakley!".
Lavender. Lavender Lavender. Such a rubbish name, she thought. Made her look*** like a piece of junk. She got up and sauntered over to the place where she would be sorted. Who cares where I go? She thought, Raising her left eyebrow and smirking at the silent crowd watching her.

"You're a SLYTHERIN!"

Alexis curiously wandered in through the huge double doors leading into the great hall with her fellow students. Any moment they would be sorted, sorted into a house which would become part of their lives. Lexi smiled at the girl who walked beside her. Lexi had no desier to be in a particular house, because both her parents had been in opposites. She knew whichever it was, she would make it a happy atmosphere and her family would be proud. Alexis long blonde hair was falling around her shoulders, and her hazel eyes searched the great hall, working out which table belonged to which house.

Lexi's name was called, it had happened so quickly. Now the nerves were setting in as the students all around her were giving all their attention. Lexi made her way through the crowd of first year and up to the stool. As she turned she saw the great hall was bigger than she'd first expected, and wasn't used to this many people all at one time. Sitting on the stool, she felt the hat on her head, this was it.

"Only two choices for you. Gryffindor or Hufflepuff. You seem to want Hufflepuff more - so that's what I'll give you. HUFFLEPUFF!"

Fairy had just gotten of the train, and she was with the rest of the group that were going to be sorted this year, it was a daunting prospect she was finally getting the opportunity that was the same of her sister's, who was also muggle-born. She kept her bag close at hand, which contained all the things she was going to need today, mainly the book and some muggle sweets she had bought with her for the train journey. She sat down on the chairs where everyone else was and stared up at the person was calling the names, as they were going down the alphabet, it eventually came to her. Her heat was beating like a drum, she stood up trembling with fear and put on the hat. She could feel it delving into her mind, her life flashed before her eyes, she could only manage to think 'please, please, please', and there she waited, her eyes firmly shut, waiting for a reaction from the hat.

"Your level of intelligence sets you in RAVENCLAW!"

Phoebe hadn't spoken to anyone that day, and had been using her eyes to work out what was going on. The great hall was even bigger than she had imagined when she and her fellow students approached it. She smiled back and a girl walking beside her grinned. Personally Phoebe didn't mind wat house she was in but thought prehaps Ravenclaw was better suited, besides the only two people she knew belonged there. She thought about whether Josh still remembered her. He was the only person she knew who had come here also in hope of Ravenclaw. Although he would be a year above her now, she hadn't been able to get sorted last year.

As her name was called she made her way up to the stool. It was slightly nerve-racking and she wanted to get it over and done with. She waited for the hat to reveal it's choice.

"Ravenclaw is not where you belong. No, your future lies in HUFFLEPUFF!"
