Jasper was giddy with excitement as he made his way along the corridor with Blake by his side. Tyler was somewhere behind them, and Jasper didn't really know why he came along. This plan was his and Blake's, and it was going to be exciting. Tyler seemed like the type of person who hated excitement. With the dung bomb safely in its package in his bag, Jasper exchanged a grin with Blake as they headed over to where the stairs to the entrance hall ended on the first floor. "Their faces are going to be hilarious. I wish I had a camera." He said, laughing at the mental image. He glanced around the corridor, which was thankfully mostly empty. Then he peered down to what he could see of the entrance hall. "We should wait until people leave the great hall after lunch, that'll only be a few minutes and then its going to be super busy and we get as many people as possible." Jasper said with a grin, though the temptation to simply chuck the thing down right now was almost too big to resist. Why did Blake only have to have one? He glanced at him. "Next Brightstone weekend you should stock up on prank supplies, we could go together!" He said, grinning. He had forgotten about Tyler completely.

We asked a professor to intervene already

Today was what Blake had really been waiting for at Hogwarts. Quidditch wasn't as exciting as he had hoped it would be, lessons were an outright drag, but finally, it felt like he was doing something really worth his time. It hadn't taken him long to find his squad, a group of guys he could trust to have his back through thick and thin, and the three of them were finally getting up to some real business. He loved pulling a good prank, and hadn't had a real opportunity to get wild since arriving at this boring school. It was finally time for some proper fun though, and Blake couldn't wait to see the looks on people's faces as they finally injected some excitement into their dull lives, even if it wasn't in the way most of those people would really want. He laughed and nodded in response to Jasper's suggestion, walking close to the other boy so they could speak in hushed tones. "Totally." He agreed, picturing it. "Gotta get maximum impact." The thought of a trip to get more supplies with his bros sounded like an awesome one, and Blake nodded eagerly. "Definitely! We can probably make even better plans when we're in the store looking at the stuff they have there."

Tyler walked a few steps behind Jasper and Blake. He had tried to talk them out of this idea, but only a little. He didn't want them to say he was a buzzkill or a loser or anything, but he knew this was a bad idea. There was no way they wouldn't get caught. But any attempt at making the plan a little better or more streamlined had been dismissed by the two louder boys. So here he was. If he didn't want to befriend Blake so badly, he would have been out of here already. As of now, he simply kept his distance so he would perhaps escape being blamed for this. He crossed his arms as he watched the two of them, unable to hide his scowl. Despite his subtle attempts to push Blake and Jasper apart, the two were becoming fast friends. Tyler was jealous, he couldn't deny it. Jasper was a dumb and loud idiot, and somehow Blake didn't see it. He rolled his eyes, then kept an eye on the rest of the people in the corridor in case anyone was running off to go blab to a professor about the things the boys were talking about very loudly.

Jasper was glad Blake agreed with his plan, and he grinned as he also said that going to get more prank supplies sounded like a good idea. Maybe they would leave Tyler at Hogwarts that time, as Jasper was quite bored of the way he rolled his eyes at everything he said. The doors to the great hall opened, and students started trickling out. Jasper grinned. "Almost." He said, his hand disappearing into his bag to take the dung bomb out. It was so cool of Blake to let him throw it, even though it was really Blake's. "I'll go when you say now." He said, deciding to share this moment with Blake in letting him decide the timing.

Blake didn't think he had felt this excited since arriving at Hogwarts. He was more than ready to shake things up, and peering down the stairs at the students below them, the thought of how many people they were gonna be able to get with this prank only added to his glee. Watching the people pass below, Blake tried to time it for when there were the maximum number of people below them, so they'd get a good number of targets. "Wait... wait..." He murmured, studying the crowd. It kept thinning out just when Blake thought it was time, and he didn't want to miss the perfect moment.

Tyler was watching the two other boys, feeling both jealous and anxious. He was sure this wasn't going to go right, but what could he do? He wanted to be friends with Blake, but wished Jasper wasn't around. He glanced up and down the corridor, then his heart froze as he saw a professor at the other end of the corridor, heading in their direction. He knew he needed to get out of here, now. But there was still a chance to save things with Blake, if he acted fast. Tyler surged forward and grabbed his arm, pulling him away from Jasper. "Trust me." He hissed, dragging him a safe distance away. He could have simply run away and let the two of them take the blame, but if this went well, it would mean the end of Jasper and Blake's friendship. Blake didn't seem to get what he was doing, so Tyler elbowed him and nodded pointedly in the direction of the professor. His heart was hammering in his chest, but he knew he had to act now to make it believable. "Jasper, come on, don't!" He called out, hoping he was loud enough for the professor to hear. "You shouldn't do that!" He nudged Blake again, subtly, urging him to say something as well.

Jasper's heart was pounding in excitement as he waited for Blake to give him the go ahead. He knew the other boy wanted to cause as much mischief as he did, so trusted him to pick a right time to throw the dungbomb. But just when he figured it was a good time, and he was about to ask Blake if he agreed, the other boy was pulled away from Jasper's side by Tyler. Jasper was confused. "What?" He asked, startled. He noticed Tyler drag Blake back, not getting why. Then he suddenly started yelling at Jasper not do the prank. Jasper frowned, they had thought of it all together. Why was he suddenly acting so weird? "What are you-" but then, the dungbomb he had been holding exploded. He had forgotten all about it. Jasper yelled, both in surprise and disgust as he was covered in the disgusting smell. The force of it caused him to fall on his behind, and he sat there, dazed. "Ew! Why did you distract me!" He yelled, trying to wave away the stinking fumes. "Ew ew ew ew! Guys help!" But Tyler and Blake were standing at a distance, and Tyler was looking at him with concern and pity. Then Tyler looked at something else, and Jasper finally followed his gaze and noticed the professor. His heart sank. "Oh."

Misha was wondering down the hallway, minding his own business as he headed from the staff common room back to his classroom. It was a good year, he had gotten to be relatively close to his daughter, there were still years to make up for, but he was at hogwarts with her, so they had plenty of time. He just unfortunately had the misfortune of walking down a hallway that day where the kids were misbehaving. A dungbomb went off in the hallway as he approached three kids. He frowned deeply, sighing and rolling his eyes, kids. The man waved his wand and it quickly all went away and he just looked at the three students he knew from his classes because Misha taught everyone and tried to figure out what had gone on. He was assuming from the set up that the boy standing a little on his own was the person who’d dropped the bomb and perhaps the other two were just students who’d had the misfortune, much like him of just being in the wrong place at the wrong time, ”Okay, so can someone explain to me what just happened?” Misha put on his best authoritative, teacher voice.

Tyler's heart was beating quickly in his chest, but you wouldn't be able to tell if you looked at him. He schooled his expression to concern and a bit of fear, as if he was intimidated by the professor who had approached. He looked at the professor as Jasper flailed around, even though it was very hard not to laugh at how idiotic he looked. "Jasper wanted to throw a dung bomb down there." Tyler said quickly, before Jasper could say anything. He pointed down the stairs to the entrance hall. "He was saying how funny it would be, but we tried to stop him." He gestured to himself and Blake. "He didn't listen, but I think something went wrong and it went off in his hand." Tyler glanced at Jasper. "Are you alright?" He asked him hesitantly. He knew that it would be more believable if he didn't seem to dislike Jasper. He then glanced back at the professor. "I think it was just a joke, but... it seemed a bit too far to us. Right Blake?"

Blake was still watching for the ideal moment when he felt Tyler's hand on his arm, pulling him away from Jasper. What was going on?! He opened his mouth to protest, but something about the way Tyler asked Blake to trust him made him pause. And as he did pause, Blake's eyes fell on the approaching professor. It was too late for Jasper now, but Blake realised that Tyler had hopefully saved him. The moments of distraction went on a bit too long, and coughing from the smell, Blake couldn't hold back a laugh as the dungbomb went off in Jasper's hand. It would have been better if it had hit more people, for sure, but there was a special kind of delight in watching Jasper suffer. Blake had to suppress the giggles quickly though, as Professor Haden approached them. His mind was racing for an excuse, when Tyler took the lead on their excuse. Blake glanced at Jasper for a moment - he knew it was wrong to leave Jasper to take the fall for a prank that had been his doing, but Blake was pretty happy to save his own neck in this situation. "Yeah." He said quickly, agreeing with Tyler's sentiment. "I was telling him to stop, but he wouldn't listen."

Jasper felt like he was shrinking at the professor looked at him with a frown. The man had always been pretty nice in lessons, but Jasper could tell they were in trouble now. He was silent for a moment after the man's question, trying his best to think of some good excuse for all this. When none came, he was almost relieved when Tyler started to speak. That relief only lasted a moment. Jasper froze in horror as he processed what the other Slytherin was saying. He was lying, and it was impossible to see on his face. Jasper wasn't too surprised Tyler would betray him, and to be fair, Tyler hadn't actually done much. But then Blake started to speak, and Jasper was sure the boy would explain it had been his dung bomb and partly his idea. Jasper's mouth dropped open when the boy instead went along with Tyler, and he immediately felt fury overtake him. "LIAR!" He yelled, the word bursting from him at once. He was so angry, he didn't think about anything much. He wanted to curse Blake, but couldn't remember any spells. Instead, he kicked off his shoe and threw it at the boy in anger, the only projectile he could think of. He was furious and betrayed. He had thought these boys were his friends.

Misha listened as the various students gave him an account of what happened. He listened to the first student and the second, both of them assuring Misha that they were not that involved in what had happened, that they had tried to stop it. He suspected maybe something was wrong but, when the third boy, only shouted a word and threw his shoe he was less inclined to believe the other two. He whipped out his wand and stopped the shoe in it’s trajectory, ”Mr. Night if you could possibly put your shoe back on,” Misha asked him as he brought the shoe back over. He looked between them, ”You two, scram,” he said to the two boys who’d attempted to stop the action from happening and then looked towards the remaining kid, ”Right, Mr Night, I’m going to take some points off you and you’ll have detention with next week. I’ll tell Professor Styx about this, but it will be your only punishment,” The man hated that, he didn’t like having to hand out punishments, he avoided it, much like avoided these situations entirely. But here he was, unfortunately the only responsible adult around. ”I’ll let Professor Styx decide what your detention will be. Okay?"

Tyler was tense and nervous as he waited for Blake to respond too. He had taken a gamble, and if Blake was more loyal to Jasper than he had anticipated, this would look worst for him. But then Blake went along with him, and Tyler was triumphant. He had to resist the urge to smile at Jasper, who definitely wasn't making things better for himself by throwing his shoe at Blake. Tyler nodded as the professor told them to scram, not needing to be told twice. He did shoot Jasper one last glance, then grabbed Blake's arm and headed away from the professor and their roommate.

Jasper was boiling with anger, and that feeling only intensified as his shoe was stopped by the professor's magic. It was so unfair! Jasper glared at him, and then let out a incredulous sound as the Professor told Tyler and Blake to leave. "You're just going to believe them?!" He asked, angry and upset as both boys left*. But why did he even question that? Of course he was. Jasper frowned and crossed his arms, looking at the floor. He was refusing to put his shoe back on, and refusing to say anything to the professor. He shrugged when he said he would take points, then shrugged again when he said he would get detention. "Whatever." He muttered eventually. Then shrugged again at his last question. Why was the professor acting like Jasper's word actually mattered in this? After a moment, he reluctantly put his shoe on, still not looking at the professor at all.
