TEAM RED - 0 POINTS
(Beater)

Wendall thought the best line of defense was to make sure he kept the bludger as far away from any of his team as possible. This however, would mean he had to go near it himself. As Monty blew the whistle, the former Hufflepuff went in search of the bludger, because at least if he had a better idea of where it was, the less likely he was it to be hit by it.

Ned and Ten didn't need words to communicate; they had a language of their own, mostly consisting of nods and eyebrow wiggles. She darted after the redhead and flew alongside her, ready to accept a pass if needed.

Ten watched as Ned lined up perfectly with her on the other side of the enemy chasers. In one quick motion, the Gryffindor threw the quaffle over the girl's heads, hoping to land gracefully in the arms of her best friend.

Rion couldn't believe she'd missed the quaffle. She'd dove right at it, and still Ten had beaten her by miles. She was going to have to play a bit more aggressively. Was she even capable of that? The Gryffindors had brought a bit of a competitive spirit out of her, it seemed, as she sped up and tried to yank the quaffle out of Ten's hands. But the quaffle was... gone? Ugh. She was too slow, again.

Wendall didn't have to wait long until he found the bludger, and sped across to it while it was in sight. Usually he knew he would have needed to aim for Leda, but as he saw Rion try to tackle Ten, the quaffle flying over to the second chaser, there was another goal in sight. Taking aim, Wendall swung the bat and aimed for @Eluned Strangewayes , hoping to at least stop her from receiving the quaffle.

Ned caught the quaffle and, leaning forward on her broom, zipped up to the hoops. A bludger whooshed by overhead, but she didn't even have to duck to avoid it. She tossed the quaffle and - scored! This was going to be so easy.

By the sounds of it, a goal had already been goaled. Felix got to work hunting for the snitch, hoping perhaps naively that he'd find it before the former Slytherin Captain.

Rudolf was trying to look everywhere at once. Illuminating the balls had been a great idea, but they were so pretty as they flew about that he forgot to even try to block Eluned's goal. Oops. He grabbed the quaffle and launched it back towards the red chasers.

While everyone was busy worrying about the quaffle, Leda knew the best thing to do was go after the snitch. Felix meanwhile had headed in completely the wrong direction, and Leda focused her eyes on teh tiny glowing golden ball in the distance, that reminded her of a firefly. She ignored everything else, blocking it out and flying as fast as she could across the pitch. She skidded at the last moment, grabbing the snitch by coming up behind it and grinning at her nephew.

Raylee grabbed the quaffle as her brother tossed it back into play. It was time to see if she was still a good aim. Turning sharply, she flew toward Mary Lou's hoops. Where was Rion, anyway?

Well, Leda certainly hadn't let herself get rusty. Monty blew the whistle sharply (it really was a good whistle). Touching his wand to his throat for amplification, he shouted, "That's forty points to Team Blue, I repeat, forty points to Team Blue. Nothing for Red. Starting positions, please!"

There was no way they weren't winning this. Between Ned scoring the first goal and Leda catching the snitch, they were already well underway. Raylee was quick to grab the quaffle, but with a glance in Susie's direction, Ten hoped she wouldn't have it for long. Getting back into her starting position, she waited to restart.

Yes! Freddie grinned, clapping, as Leda caught the snitch. The team could probably neither see nor hear him, in the dark, so far away, but he couldn't quite bring himself to whistle or whoop. It might come out all squeaky or half-hearted and Monty would think he was shy. Maybe he'd give it a go if they won.

Felix cursed loud enough that he probably would have received a stern glare if he'd been looking at anyone else. Perhaps he should have let someone else play seeker against Leda, although he was still adamant to prove himself. Felix got back into position, ready to catch it first this time.

Monty suddenly realised he had a shadow, and smiled. Freddie liked to play it cool, he'd noticed, but when Luke and Susie weren't with him, he was almost shy. The players were back in position; without further ado, Monty blew the whistle and restarted play.

Ray didn't hesitate this time. As soon as the whistle blew, she accelerated at full speed toward the quaffle. It was hers.

It was time for them to get some points back. Wendall prepared himself and immediately went back after a bludger, although in his speed he almost dropped the bat. Thankfully despite it slipping from his grip he continued on, raising it over his shoulder as he got closer.

Susie had been struggling to get close enough to a budger to take a swing, but now, as the match re-started, she made a bee-line for the closest blue orb and sent it flying toward Raylee.

Ten couldn't believe Raylee had just jumped in there and snatched the quaffle. The sixth year flew alongside side, hoping to tackle the woman and score more points for the blue team, when she was hit in the side by a bludger. She groaned, even though it didn't hurt as much as a regular one would. Unsure whether that had come from Wendall or Susie, Ten broke away from Raylee in the hopes of not being a second target.

Raylee knew what it felt like to get hit by a real bludger. She rolled her eyes as the foam ball bounced off her side. One strike. No problem. Spotting Rion nearby, she attempted a pass.

Felix was quick to go off once again in search of the snitch. He thought he saw a flicker of gold, so turned to head that way before Leda could spot it too.

Rion barely caught the quaffle as Raylee launched it at her. It was OK. It was fine. It was just for fun. No pressure. She took a deep breath and threw. The quaffle sailed awkwardly over the top of the hoops. Great.

Ten laughed when Rion's attempt to score went wide, but the Gryffindor was ready to catch the quaffle and immediately head in the other direction. Red team may have just given up now to be fair.

Susie fell back a little, scanning the dark. There was Felix, over there - and no bludgers nearby, but that wasn't to say one wouldn't come to her. She sped up and got on his tail. "Ooh, duck!!" she yelled, just for fun.

Felix didn't feel like getting hit by the bludger, but hearing Susie's voice behind him made Felix suspicious. He ducked, falling a little in the air although he peered over his shoulder. Why would Susie be trying to help him?
