Slytherin Quidditch Team Practice Y40 S1

Ivelisse kept looking.

Celia's decision to wait a bit before striking the bludger paid off. The iron ball soared straight into @Seamus Reid, and she smirked with satisfaction.

Avery x1
Ivelisse x1
Liusaidh x1
Lucie x1
Seamus x1

Liusaidh would've liked for Indira to fail when she went to score, but also had to be pleased that she did. Liusaidh wanted the quaffle but then Natalia grabbed it and Liusaidh just followed after her.

Seamus had been aiming for a bludger when he got hit hard with a bludger. He groaned at the pain but continued to fly.

Ivelisse continued her search when a glimpse of gold caught her eye. Determined not to let it get away this time she shot after it, hoping the other seeker hadn’t seen it too. She reached out her arm as she inched closer to the golden ball before finally wrapping her fingers around it. Once she had it in her hand she held it up with a grin, making sure the captains noticed.

Celia was glad that Ivelisse hadn't completely lost all her skills over the break. Though she would always be concerned with her own individual performance first and foremost, Celia still did want to win the Quidditch Cup. And as much as she hated to admit it, that wouldn't happen unless Ivelisse found some success on the pitch.

In the meantime, however, Celia wasn't going to let her roommate steal the spotlight. She took off in search of another bludger.

Avie came to a halt when he noticed the other seeker had caught the snitch. He hovered on the spot, racing off when it was released again.

Natalia flew up to the hoops and attempted to score, unfortunately her shot was blocked. It stung extra hard after Indi just scored before her.

Avie thought he saw a flicker of something moving quickly in his peripherals, and turned around to chase after it.

Ivelisse waited for a few seconds after letting go of the snitch, watching the other kid when he seemed to have noticed something.

Avie flew off after what he was sure was the snitch, having to weave around the players in his way.

Liusaidh noticed Ivelisse had caught the snitch, "Aye congrats! let's keep going!" she yelled, but made sure that she gave the girl an encouraging smile - or as much as she could. Liusaidh caught the ball as it was thrown out after Natalia's miss.

Seamus had spotted another bludger and gladly when he went to it to hit, he was able to hit the other beater, perhaps a little pay back.
@Celia Vuong
Avery x1
Ivelisse x1
Liusaidh x1
Lucie x1
Seamus x1
Celia x1

Avie was distracted by Seamus striking a bludger toward the beater who had hit him before, and lost sight of the snitch. He gave his dormmate a somewhat encouraging look, before flying off to resume his search.

Celia had been so intent on hitting Ares that she hadn't paid much attention to the alternate. She spotted the bludger at the last second and instinctively lifted her bat, but the ball had come in from her non-dominant side, rendering the move useless. It slammed into her side, causing her to cry out. She glared at Seamus and decided to bump him up a few spots on her hit list.

Ivelisse kept looking.

Avery spared a glance at the other seeker to try gauge if she'd noticed the snitch. It didn't seem as if she were racing anywhere in particular, and he resumed his own search.

As Celia chased after a bludger, she tried to ignore the pain in her side. The hit was bound to leave a bruise, and she couldn't help but wonder why Hogwarts insisted on forcing its students to learn to brew useless potions like the Swelling Solution when medicinal potions would be so much more useful.

For a second Ivelisse thought she spotted the snitch but it disappeared as quickly as that.

Avie felt the pressure to continue to perform well, and redoubled his efforts.

Ivelisse decided to fly a bit higher to get a better view of the pitch.

Celia tried to tell herself that it made sense that she was having so much difficulty hitting Ares. Beaters, after all, had bats to defend themselves, and they usually spent more time working with bludgers (and avoiding them) than anyone else. But deep down, she knew this was just an excuse. If she wanted to knock out Connor or any of the other seventh year beaters in a game, she needed to get better — quickly.

Ivelisse was starting to get irritated again when she couldn't spot the snitch. At least if she saw it she could chase after it. Now it felt like she was just staring into the emtpy sky.
