Slytherin Quidditch Practice Y36/S1

Derek pushed to fly along side one of the chasers who had the ball when the bludger hit him hard. He hated that Sapphire was so good at her position, pleased that most of the time she was aiming for the other team.

Daintree found his frustration matched the low level of pain, but he happened across one of the bludgers and perhaps in a mean way, and unnecessarily vengeful manner he hit it hard and much to his delight it went straight for Sapphire and met it's target.
@Sapphire Michaels

Sapphire was watching the chasers, not paying enough attention, and was startled when she felt the bludger slam into her ribs. She cussed, gripping her side. She looked to Daintree. "Great shot! Keep it up!" She called, deciding to sit back a little and let him work. She would need him to back her up on the field and she didn't want to take out anyone during practice. She watched the others, wanting to see who stood where. Mordred had already blocked Luna once, but it had been a solid shot nonetheless.

Paige focused only on the Quaffle, not wanting to let it out of her sight. She was determined to save it now that she was here waiting.

2a.

As Jasper was taking his sweet time taking it a shot it allowed Luna to sneak up behind him and steal the Quaffle she continued the journey he had been making toward the hoops.

Jasper was nearing the hoops when Luna suddenly wrestled the quaffle away from him. "Hey!" He yelled, bumping into her and grabbing for it back. He managed to grab it and then flew up to the hoops quickly so he could attempt to score. But unfortunately, his shot failed. Angry, he flew off.

After what Paige thought could only be chance, she had managed to catch the Quaffle the Chaser threw at the hoops, she threw it back into play again.

Luna grumbled when Jasper took the quaffle from her but smirked when he missed too. When Paige threw the quaffle back into play Luna was quick to grab and began making her way to the other hoops.

Maddox had been waiting for an opening to grab the Quaffle from the Chasers, although they seemed to been doing a good job stealing it from one another. The keeper threw the ball out too and one of the older students managed to get it. Knowing that he was going to come up against older students in a real game, he knew he would have to do more if he wanted to beat them, so began to fly in front of Luna, blocking her from going too fast in the direction of the other hoops.

Luna continued to get close to the hoops and when she was close enough she threw the quaffle and cheered when it went through.

Maddox was scowling as his attempts to block Luna's goal were unsuccessful. While it was a good goal for her, he had to appreciate that she was on his team. Had it been the enemy though he had failed to intercept. As the ball was thrown out once more, the second year flew forward to grab it ahead of the older students.

Maddox wasted no time in flying to the other side of the pitch, and as though proving a point that second years were just as capable at scoring a goal at the older students, he threw it straight into the hoop and watched as it sailed cleanly in. He tried to hide his smile as he flew away, hoping the Captains just saw that.

Sapphire watched the others, smiling as Maddox scored. She swung at a bludger but missed.

Maddox realised he was the only Chaser near the goal. How had he got so far ahead of the other chasers? He lent forward on his broom and caught the Quaffle again.

Some what distracted by the bludger hit, Derek missed a hell of a lot, two of the chasers managed to score, and the youngest of them, seemed to have the quaffle again, ready to take another shot.

Daintree was pleased with his shot, but knew that perhaps he needed to be a little calmer about it. It was clear that Sapphire was being nice about it and there was no reason for him to be frustrated where much like him, she'd just been doing what she needed to. daintree let that go and just began looking for another bludger to hit.

Sapphire flew around the pitch, keeping her eye on the others. Maddox was showing promise, Paige was doing well, Daintree had a good arm. She was liking their new recruits, she was sure if they could just... follow Blake, somehow, the team would continue to be the best in the school. She just needed to train Daintree and Paige to take her place.

Jasper scowled as Luna scored, and then the new alternate scored too.He flew over to him when he got his hands on the quaffle again, hoping he would pass to him.

Daintree would continue to search for the bludgers to hit them towards players, but he wasn't having much luck since he'd hit one towards Sapphire.

Derek continued after the chaser with the ball, looking to help them or take it.

Maddox had already begun to prove himself and felt no desire to fail a second shot, passing the Quaffle to @Jasper Night as he was closest, and probably needed the practise.

Jasper was pleasantly surprised when the young chaser passed to him. He gave him a grin, then flew forward to the hoops. Hoping to catch the keeper by surprise, Jasper threw the quaffle as fast as he could. But his shot was blocked, and he sighed deeply.

Despite passing to Jasper he still didn’t manage to score. Maddox wasn’t too far away, and grabbed the Quaffle once more as it was thrown out.

Maddox flew around the hoops a few times, trying to get a lead on the Keeper when he suddenly threw it over his shoulder. Part of him thought it wouldn’t go through, but sure enough it sailed straight in. How was he already better than the other chasers on his team???

As the rest of the team practiced Blake did his best to tune them out entirely, focusing on his search for the snitch. The more times he could catch it, the better.
