Risk Taking

"Alright, let's not panic," Andi failed to hide the panic in her own voice, "let's just get as far away from this thing as we can, without disturbing it."

They all backed up very slowly; it was doglike, and carried a row of extremely sharp and jagged teeth. "Oh man oh man oh man," Estrella whispered, now frightened; she agreed with Rose, that the animal was worse even than the vampire they had come across.

"Wait, if we move too quickly we might spook it." Alex facused as hard as he could on the Homorphus Charm. Then, he was willing to try it, after all, it worked in the towers. Then, he raised his wand and a blue light shown.

"uh, Alex," Estrella muttered fearfully, her face a pasty white, "I think all you're doing is waking it up." Although it still appeared to be sleeping, the creature emitted a low growl.

"Sorry, it is a little complicated to perform nonverbal spells. Thats the best thing for werewolves, it's supposed to change back into its human form. Here, let me try one more time, if it doesn't work, we run." Alex raised his wand again and focused. The blue light showed, but nothing happened to the beast. "Damn, it worked in the tower." Alex froze. The beast was starting to turn. "RUN!"

Andi grabbed someone by the sleeve, she wasn't even sure who it was, and ran with all her might. Somone close beside, she presumed it to be Alex, was firing some sort of spells to clear the path ahead of them. She didn't dare to look behind her, but kept checking to see that the three people beside her, stayed there!

Estrella screamed, "Lumos," and her wand ignited even more brightly, and grabbed Rose's hand, hoping that Andi and Alex were close by. She could hear barking behind her, and she kicked up the pace, breathing heavily as they raced for the forest edge.

Professor King ran into the forest after hearing shouts of students he then saw the werewolf chasing after a small group of explorers, he didnt even waste his time scolding them, "Homorphus!" He shouuted. Instantaniously the werewolf was no more, but instead a youung man stood in his place. "This'll teach you why forbidden forests are forbidden, I hope" he stated as he turned to leave the forest.

"Man, I thought for sure that we were going to get yelled at," Estrella sighed in relief when the new Professor was out of earshot. "You think we should go now?"

Noticing the students weren't following him out of the forest he turned around and shouted back at them, "I am now strongly recommending you leave the forest for awhile, at least until you have a clue what your doing around magical creatures ;)" he then muttered under his breath, " And don't think for a second I wasn't tempted to deduct house points, but ravenclaw has none and i can't only take from Gryffindor..."

"Okay guys, we better leave," Estrella sighed. She began to follow the Professor, whom she didn't recognize, walking with the others out of the forest sadly.

"I will be your DADA professor by the way!" exclaimed Professor King, "So I suppose it falls upon my shoulders to ensure that the next time you're this careless you know how to defend yourselfs....

"Professor, DOn't blame them. Ok, long story short, I dragged them all down here, because if you haddn't heard I was attacked by a werewolf in the North Towers. I came down here searching for it because I had to be sure. They all came down to stop me. If your going to give anyone detention, it is all me." Alex stood trying to seem more "noble" with his chest puffed out and his head down. He casually elbowed Andi and gave her a quick smile and whispered, "play along." He was pretty sure the professor didn't hear the last comment.

The Professor chuckled then stated, "I'm Well aware of you're little werewolf incident, which is why I was wondering why someone with such a close call at becoming one himself, would come into the forbidden forest where there could be more then just one... but thats beside the point, I am not planning on giving anyone a detention!" He then remembered they had left the young man who was just in his werewolf form on the forest floor, he then asked the students to come back with him to see if they recognized him as a student...

"Oh, do you want us to go with you? Yeah, thats no problem with me. Are you all ok with that?"

Estrella was dumbstruck. She had thought, for sure, that they would all get detentions and lose all of their house points to boot. Instead, the teacher was taking them back into the face of danger. "Sweet," she muttered to her friends, "He has got to be the coolest teacher ever."

As they began walking towards the young mans body sprawled out on the forests floor Professor King noticed many of the students looked very surprised that he was taking them back towards the werewolf. "Oh, he's perfectly harmless now, he won't be a werewolf again until the next full moon, and as for the other creatures that are out here, they are nothing to fear I will be able to protect all of you." he finished very pridefully. He continued, "However do any of you recognize this young man, perhaps he's a student (in which case the headmistress should know the werewolf is a student), or maybe he's from hogsmeade... We need to figure this out..."

Unfortunately, Estrella did not recognize the pale, sick man curled up on the forest floor. "I don't know who he is, sorry," she muttered, and she looked around. "Any of you guys have a clue?"

As the general consensus seemed to be that noone had seen the sickly wizard before Professor King escorted the students back onto school gounds whilst thinking about whether or not the head mistress should be told about the werewolf in the forest, or if he should bring the werewolf back to the hospital wing... he wasn't sure of anything.... All he knew for sure was the werewold wasn't going to be dangerous until the next full moon, and the wizard withen, needed some help....

"You think we should help him?" Estrella asked the Professor with wide eyes. She looked back; she regretted leaving the sick man, defenseless on the forest floor...

When he heard the young girl say this Professor King seemed to snap out of his world of thought and replied, "I was Just wondering that myself estrella..." he was still doubtful much could be done for the wizard, He decided to ask the group of students with him at the time what they wanted to do in the situaation, as it was they who had started the whole problem... "What do you all think we should do?" he inquired...

"I think we should take him up to the hospital wing," Estrella muttered. "It would be worse if he was left at the mercy of the rest of the forest." She turned to her friends. "What do you guys think?"

Without waiting for the others to answer, Prof. King ran back towards the wizard, threw him over his shoulders then jogged back towards the group, his wand up the whole time for seemingly no reason. When the group cleared the forbdden forest he intended to make his way towards the hospital wing.... how he was going to explain the adventure, he didnt know, but one thing was for sure, these students would have to help...

"Do you need us to do anything?" Estrella offered. She felt useless just tagging along with her friends.

"I would request you run ahead and inform the hospital wing of the wizards upcoming arrival." Professor king replied to the girl,

"Explaining how you found he might help as well ;) " he continued the mans weight now taking a toll on his speed "Levicorpus!" he shouted, wand pointed at the body on his shoulder, the man's body was now levitating in front of him as h walked, 'much better' he thought, releived
