Ravenclaw Quidditch Practice Y44 S1

Audrey found a bludger to hit, but it went way off target.

Hamish continued his search.

Hamish continued his search.

Xiuying followed the young chaser

After a quick loop, Rion sped up to the lowest hoop and threw the quaffle. There was nothing in her way, and yet still she missed by miles. She was hopeless. An embarrassment to the team. And now, on top of the throbbing in her side, all the flying around in circles was making her feel sick. Hovering in the air, she closed her eyes and tried to steady her breathing. She was an easy target for the bludgers, but she was shaking too much to move.

Hamish continued to look for the snitch, though he noticed one of the younger kids slow down. He flew over, leaning his head down to try and catch her eye. "Hey, are you okay?" He asked, giving her a gentle smile. @Rion Pendleton

Monday swatted a bludger away from players for once.

As Crystal hold of some attempts she did felt for the younger girl who didn't seemd to be happy. Crystal knew she wasn't the most confident person herself. Although she wanted people to think she was, so pretended as good as she could.

Hamish let his eyes sweep the pitch, but he stayed near the younger player.

Rion opened her eyes. Her façade of strength - the one she had been desperately crafting since the first day of term - was no match for the flurry of emotions that paralysed her on her broom. "Can I stop?" she asked. Her voice was tremulous and thick with tears. "It hurts and I feel like I'm going to be sick."

Monday shifted his eyes over to the chaser that he had hit twice, and decided to fly over to her and Hamish. He glanced toward the captain and wondered if the new chaser needed to be escorted to the hospital wing. "Do you need to be escorted to the Hospital Wing?" asked the prefect as he waved for the captain to come over to see what the next task was. He'd be willing to take her since the seekers needed more practice than beaters did.

@Rion Pendleton @Xiuying Huang

Hamish had just looked to Monday as he approached, when a glint of gold caught his attention. He shot past him, before returning after a moment with the snitch in his hand. He showed the captain before he let it go again. "What's your name?" He asked the girl, not remembering. "I could probably take her?" He offered, looking to Monday.

Rion missed again and Amauri flew to catch the Quaffle. She could see out the corner of her eyes that Rion had stopped and a few others had to, and she began to slow down, unaware if practise was over or not. She knew how she felt, she’d been hit twice now too but by the looks of things Rion was struggle to handle it.

Savannah did not catch the snitch.

Crystal tried to focus but saw some people flying over to Rion as well so wondered what was to be said.

Amauri hoped Crystal would be distracted enough that she could actually score a goal.

Savannah did not catch the snitch.

Amauri flew back up to the hoops, hoping that she could at least make one goal this practice. Her aim was still off however and the ball went flying in a different direction entirely.

For a second, Rion thought Hamish was leaving her with the boy who had hit her with two bludgers. By the time he came back, she was beyond caring who took her. All the attention was humiliating. "Rion," she said, wiping her face. "I think I'm OK. I want to stay. Sorry." She hadn't meant to hold the practice session up. Besides, if she quit now, she'd only sit in the hospital wing feeling angry with herself. If she flew a bit more slowly, she could probably hold it together until she landed.

@Hamish Reid @Monday Weeks

Michael hit a bludger trying to have it go away from the commotion, but it hit @Rory Styx by mistake. "Sorry, man," he yelled, flying back over to the others. "Hey, Hamish, you keep doing the seeker thing. I can go on defense for the chasers for a bit." Despite the fact that he'd just hit one.

@Hamish Reid

Audrey ignored the others and chased after a bludger.

It seemed as though the practice was continuing, and Amauri waited to see which Chaser would grab the quaffle next.

Hamish nodded, giving Rion a smile. "Alright, sure thing. No worries, first practice is always tough," He told her, and smiled as Michael showed up. He nodded. "Sounds like a plan, good luck," He offered to his friend before taking off, resuming his search more seriously.

@Rion Pendleton @Michael Watson

Michael nodded, figuring he should just focus on defense for now and decided to hang around the chasers. Monday and the new kid could focus on offense if they wanted, or defending the seekers, either or. Seeker would be priority in a real game, but it would be easier for the chasers to practice if they were in less danger of being hit. He hovered near the second year, scanning the skies. "It's really hard to get used to, I started out as chaser and I sucked at it," he offered, awkwardly hoping that might help. He wasn't sure if it would. "But keep at it, you'll get better in no time. I bet even Xiuying struggled when she first started," he added, hoping the captain didn't overhear.
