Hufflepuff,Practice

Ever since tryouts, Tilly was both thrilled and nervous about leading her first practice as co-captain. That said, she was looking forward to seeing what their new team could do. She and Lucas had offered spots to promising alternates as well as strong returning players. Tilly arrived early and hauled out the box of Quidditch balls. As always, it vibrated with the restrained bludgers, ready to wallop their first Hufflepuff of the season.

Nodding at Lucas when he arrived, Tilly waited for the rest of the team to show up. When they all had arrived, she glanced at Lucas for encouragement. She'd never given any sort of speech before. Short and sweet was going to be more her style.

"Good morning, everyone. I know this is going to be a great year and if we work hard, we have a good chance of taking back the Quidditch Cup. We're going to get started with practice right away." Tilly took a breath. "Returning players, you know what you're doing. No holding back, we need to be at our best if we're going to beat Ravenclaw. Zagreus and Renata, welcome to the team. If anyone needs a break, take one. We'll call an official break later on to give everyone a breather. All right- let's go!"

With that, Tilly tossed the Quaffle to one of the chasers and released the bludgers and snitched. She kicked off from the ground, circling the pitch and making sure everyone was getting into position before she started cracking bludgers.

OOCOut of Character:
No arrivals today. Let's get started! Feel free to reach out to Daphne or myself if you have any questions.

Lucas was glad Tilly was the one who started the practice. He gave her an encouraging smile as she started to speak. The team was looking good, they had more alternates than they'd had last time, and Lucas was feeling cautiously optimistic. Once the practice started, Lucas shot into the air to look around for the snitch.

Tilly whacked a bludger away from the chasers.

Leonardo flew into the air, and grabbed the quaffle as it was thrown out. He pressed towards the hoops, determined to do better than last year, and thankful for Jordie was helping brush up his skills.

Zagreus was beyond nervous about the fact he had made the team, even if it was as an alternate. Nervously wrapping his hands around the school broom he was borrowing, he smiled briefly as he was welcomed to the team. But he didn't say anything, quietly hopping on his broom and settling himself in front of the hoops with a loud breath. He could do this. He could.

Jordie was eager to get back into the school year. He had a lot going on, but he was determined to do his best. He jumped into the air with the others, following after Leo. He was happy when Leo caught the quaffle. "Come on, Leo! You can do it!" He called out in encouragement.

Leonardo got close to the hoops and threw the ball, he even tried to feign going the other way as Jordie had shown him, but he missed. With it banging off the end of the hoops with a loud noise, like a ring to his failure. He tried to not be too disappointed in it.

He prepared himself as the chaser drew closer with the quaffle, but the boy missed. This was probably a good thing because Zag was pretty sure he would have missed the save. Grabbing the quaffle he tossed it back out again.

Jordie caught the ball as it was thrown back in. "Solid try, kid! Don't give up!" He encouraged Leo with a smile and started around again.

Leonardo heard Jordie's encouragement and nodded, following behind him as he now had the quaffle.

Tilly hit nothing.

René was so excited he nearly missed half of Tilly's speech before practice, which was impressive considering she kept it pretty short. After three years as an alternate he was finally officially on the team. Now he just needed to prove it'd been the right choice. Shooting into the air, René readied his bat, watching Tilly for a while as he warmed up and hoping it wasn't too obvious he was copying her for the time being.

Felix was excited to be back on the pitch and was ready to start practice. He listened to Tilly as she addressed the team and let out a cheer for the new members of the team. He took to the air easily once practice really began and started looking for the snitch.

The quaffle was picked up by one of the older chasers and Zagreus readied himself just in case the boy tried to score on him.

Cutting his eyes away from Tilly, René squared up on a bludger, grinning as he saw an easy shot, directing the bludger straight into @Felix Carnahan

x1 Felix

Lucas flew around, trying to keep an eye on the team as he looked for the snitch.

Leonardo continued to fly behind Jordie as they headed to the hoops.

Renata was thrilled to make the team - even if she was an alternate, the fact that she'd made the team at all was still pretty exciting in her first year at Hogwarts. She bounced on the balls of her feet while the co-captain went over the basics, gave an encouraging fist-pump to Zagreus as the other new alternate, and quickly mounted up and took to the skies with the rest of the team, looking to hit a bludger.

The first one she got near she swung and completely missed, however, realizing she needed to calm down and focus.

Tilly gave Rene a thumbs up for his bludger hit. She checked on Felix, making sure he was ok.

René couldn't help but sit up proudly on his broom when Tilly gave him a thumbs up, giving his bat a little flip in celebration before moving on to try and catch up to another bludger.

Felix shot Rene a pleading look after taking a bludger to the shoulder. At least they would be on the same side during a game. But he kept up his search with no luck yet.

Renata wasn't having much luck at hitting bludgers at all, swinging and missing each time.

Linden entered the quidditch team training. it was fair to say he was a little nervous. after the drama that had left him walking off the team last year and the fact that he and Lucas were... he wasn't sure. but defiantly not what they had been. on what may well be a positive he wasn't the only keeper on the team any more. one of the new students had taken an alternate roll. at least that meant that if things didn't work out Rene wouldn't have to switch positions again
he flew up to the free he watched as the training began. the two chasers heading down towards zager-something, then new keeper. he felt like a proud big brother of Jordie as he gave directions to Leo. and felt proud of Leo for trying new things. that was, after all what training was for. he didn't should out as he didn't want to distract them and Jordie had tings covered. he just readied himself for when they headed his way.

René was a little wary of Linden as he flew past him, tailing after a bludger. He'd made things on the team so awkward last year before bailing on them entirely and leaving René to pick up the slack. It was hard to fully trust he was back on the team for real this time and René couldn't help but stare at him dubiously as he passed.

This was getting ridiculous. Renata hit the bludger...with her arm. Gritting her teeth, she took a deep breath and tried to renew her focus.
