With this being his last year in the school, Orwell had been wondering what to do with the first event, usually the serious exams and classes he had sometimes stopped him from being able to do anything in this first semester but he was rather happy that he'd picked something simple as the second to last event that Orwell would ever run as king of the flowers before he passed on the all important crown to someone else. It was a simple event really, he had spent times toying with ideas of grandeur, with ideas about fancy protests, about the environment, or about food wastage, but when he got down to think about it, there was only one thing he could really see himself doing and given that it was exactly the right time it was just perfect to do it now. Wild Patch at it's roots was about planting, it was about gardening, and Orwell had decided that he'd return to that exact root in this event. Since it was the time to plant things, the boy had organised a little extra plot of land to be put aside for them, and had gotten new types of seeds that folk could plant with, he'd requested that for the event folk not bring wands, since all planting he felt should be done by hand.

Orwell was all ready, with instructions on how to plant things, he was dressed in casual clothes, short sleeves and rolled up jeans, dirt in his hands, on his bare feet, in his nails. He wore a fond expression as he glanced over the garden, on where soon flowers, vegetables and herb would be soon be growing, where the wild life had a place to feast. The boy stood with Archie in the Wild Patch hut, getting the last of the seeds out, Orwell had spare undisclosed seeds in his hand, with a little bird eating out of it, if no one arrived to this event Orwell knew that between him and Archie they'd get the work done. After all there was nothing more that Orwell loved more than Archie and his gardens. But, he was sure that a few members of the wild patch would be sure to attend. This was the first event to be purely plants, flowers, it held no political meaning, he just wanted to be sure that when he left the school there would be people who'd continue to care about the gardens.

Ainsley had been looking forward to the first event ever since she had discovered Hogwarts had a gardening club. Herbology class was fine, but she missed having her own garden, and just planting things for the fun of it, like she and mum had back home. She had come outside early out of excitement to look around the gardens for inspiration, and by the time she made her way over to the meeting her hair was a mess, tangled full of leaves, twigs and flowers, just the way Ainsley liked it.

Ainsley skipped happily to where she had been told the meeting would be held, slowing to a stop as she realised the only person there so far was the leader of the group. "Oh..." Ainsley said a little nervously, looking around. "Am I early?"

Archie always loved planning and attending wild patch events, and this day of planting was no exception. Though it differed from the regular events and had none of the usual political undertones, it focused on the root of the club which was gardening and Archie was both excited and interested to see where this would go. Gardening was something that required endless amounts of patience and care that the Gryffindor never believed he possessed, but he was willing to try for the sake of the wild patch as a club and for the sake of the plants. He was in the midst of setting up the event with Orwell, sorting out the seeds in the small hut located in the middle of the wild patch when one of the first attendees arrived. Her hair was a mess of twigs and leaves which caused Archie to smile as he walked out of the hut, stepping to stand next to Orwell and draping one of his arms around his best friends shoulders before answering the girl's question for him. "No, you're not early! We're just organizing seeds and stuff." Archie squeezed Orwell with his arm, waiting for him to answer in more detail or even offer the girl some of the seeds so she could begin to plant them in the soil.

She wondered what the event was about, normally there was a political meaning behind it but as they'd been requested not to bring their wands she was having doubts that it had anything to do with politics. The Ravenclaw arrived to the gardens where they were to meet and for the first time was one of the first people there. She smiled at the two leaders and a girl in her year whom she recognized but had never spoken to. "
Hello," she greeted them all. She waited, unsure of what to do, for instructions or an explanation as to what today was all about. She did notice seeds and didn't miss the older boy speaking to the second year. Kaia was curious. "Are we planting or something?" She couldn't hide the excitement in her voice as she made the connection, guessing. She loved gardens, plants, flowers, anything that had to do with nature.

Orwell's gaze sat fondly on Archie when the boy greeted the girl who had just arrived, thinking it was a little too early to have arrived, but he just shook his head, someone had to be first, there was no way to avoid being early that was for sure, and this event it didn't matter when people arrived, "We're just planting seeds today, something really simple, to make sure that the next lot of wild patchers will know how to continue the garden," he told both young girls as they arrived, "Do either of you know how to plant things? If so, just grab some seeds and get to planting, there are a few indications about which seeds should go where, and instructions on how to plant the seeds," The king of the flowers said, "I'm also very happy to give demonstrations on how to plant seeds, I'm not the king of the flowers for nothing," He joked, leaning slightly into Archie as he spoke, seeking the comfort of the boy as he spoke, it was just becoming real that eventually he'd need to leave the gardens.

Clara had heard there was an event on. Something to do with plants. She quite liked gardening and she didn't mind helping out. She just didn't like people too much and hoped it would not take too much time away from her studying. Clara didn't go outside much, she preferred to be indoors, but that didn't mean that she wouldn't find her way outside anyway. Clara didn't mind talking to people, she just often felt that her English still wasn't too good, despite learning it from the age of four. She didn't have an Italian accent, she never had, but still she feared that someone would not be able to understand her. It was a silly little fear to have, but she always found herself better able to express herself in Italian, rather than in English. She didn't just go around asking if people spoke Italian though because she had a feeling that the majority would answer no. She wanted to fit in at the school, not stand out for any particular reason or another.

Arriving in time to hear one of the older boys speak to a younger student, Clara listened in to the conversation slightly. Were they just going to be planting seeds? Well, Clara could do that. She always helped her dad plant things in the garden. She'd also had several herbology lessons now and knew how all of the tools worked as well. At the mention of where the seeds were, Clara moved off on her own to collect some before returning to a corner of the garden bed and getting to work. She flicked a couple of leaves out of the way in order to clear some debris, but she was pleasantly surprised to see the garden in such good condition. Clearly it was well taken care of.

Felix wasn't sure why he persisted with Wild patch as he only joined in the first place to spend time with Lydia. Now that was in the past and yet he continued to attend events. Yeah they were fin, and Orwell's energy was infectious but his continued membership of the club was still a mystery to the sixth year. Felix made his way over to the wild patch where Orwell had organised a plant plotting event, which made a change from him protesting something. Felix listened to Orwell explain what they would be doing and when he was finished he grabbed some seeds and got to work planting them. He wondered if Lydia was there yet, but he wasn't going to strain his neck looking.

Ainsley listened to the older boys as other people began to arrived, relieved that she hadn't been too early, or wound up in the wrong place. A nice planting day seemed pleasant and she smiled and nodded in agreement when the boy asked if she knew how to plant things. "Mum and I always garden together at home." She said cheerfully once he was finished giving instructions, as she crossed happily to select a few seeds. She chose some nice-looking ones carefully and selected her own little patch to plant them in, humming softly as she began carefully working the soil, long hair forming a tangled curtain around her face.
