Professor Misha Haden had been a bit surprised to be asked to help out, he didn't often, but he didn't mind it. Though of course he was feeling a little more tired than usual with the boys keeping him awake. It was nice though, they were adorable. He looked at the two students whose duel he was overseeing. "Let's keep this clean," he said, before inviting them to get started.

The duel begins now. You have 24 hours from this to post your first reply, or face disqualification. Once both duelists have posted, you will have 24 hours from your opponents post to reply, or be disqualified. Ensure that you use the spell list for guidance on age-appropriate spells, and read over the dueling rules and points system. Please also remember site rules apply, including power/god modding. You can find the site rules here. Duels will run until there is a winner or until 6 IRL days have passed, in which case the winner will be chosen by RNG. If you are knocked out or otherwise disarmed/incapacitated, or if you run out of points, you will lose and the duel will end. Have fun!

Spectators are allowed to post in this topic once per competitors post, but are forbidden from directly interfering with the duels. Duelers cannot cast spells at the spectators or face disqualification.

Cyrus was glad he had made it through the first round, though he had the feeling Ivy would be a more formidable opponent than Sofi had been. He bowed to her, then shot off a quick spell. "Stupefy."

Ivy was glad that she had made it through the first round of the duelling tournament. what kind of Cullen would she be if she hadn't? The second round, by definition, should be harder. But she was going to give it her best. if she won she would be so pleased and proud when she next wrote home.
She took her spot on the platform glad that this time they had professor haddon invidulating not professor styx. She bowed at the professor and then at her opponent before raising her wand. she had to admit Cyrus was quick getting his first spell in before she had even finished taking a breath. "protago" she said then waving her wand again cast "Petrificus Totalus"

Ivy was not suprised when Cyrus managed to block her spell. she raised her wand for the counter attack and was able to cast a protago in time to block it. she then tried a spell she had used in her last duel, which even though it had been blocked had been the spell that had managed to distract her opponent to give her an advantage "Accio wand" she said pointing her own wand at cyrus'

Cyrus put up another shield charm, frowning in surprise at Ivy's choice of spell. "Did you mean this? Expelliarmus!" He cast, wondering if she had forgotten the spell somehow, which seemed more effective than trying the summoning charm.

"Come on Cyrus, you're a Ravenclaw, don't let her win!" Elijah calls from the stands, supporting his friend as he watches the duel. As a first year he can't participate, but he's enjoying watching the matches in any case.​

Ivy was not suprised when Cyrus managed to block her spell. he was good. she would give him that but she was not going down without a fight. Especially not to a boy at that. She raised her wand and cast a protago just in time to block the spell. She needed to focus. a call from the audience got her attention. A cheer for Cyrus. Because obviously, unlike her, he had friends. If she wasn't determined before, she was determined now. She narrowed her eyes and looked at her opponent sizing him up when she thought of the right spell to cast. "Tarantallegra she said almost thoughtfully. she knew it was unlikely to be the kind of spell that would win her a duel. But she hoped if it hit it would give her a big advantage.
