Core: Just like the animal from which it comes, hippogriff feathers being used as a wand core produce wands that are stable and versatile; however, they must be respected by the wand caster or risk having this wand turn against them.

Style : Dorian's style leans more formal and often literally buttoned up though if he's certain he'll be left alone he favours comfortable and soft hoodies and leisure wear
Distinguishing Features : Dorian doesn't emote often and usually appears very serious or even grumpy

Quiet and reserved, Dorian's stoic attitude more often than not comes across aloof or impassive when in reality he is incredibly shy, doubly so around strangers. He puts a lot of stock in appearing competent and doesn’t like to let on just how uneasy social situations make him, nor does he like being put into situations that make him feel less than.
Dorian is very clever and takes himself very seriously, spending most of his time caught up in more intellectual pursuits over other other activities like quidditch, and more often than not can be seen with his nose in a book (also an excellent excuse not to talk to people). He also has a love for music and art though has found himself tragically untalented in those areas. Despite his intelligence, he’s never been particularly good at expressing himself, for all the books he reads, he much prefers an emphasis for actions over words, hoping he can convey what he means by his behavior since he doesn’t trust his tongue to work so well. To that end he also holds others to a high standard and is quick to dismiss those who don’t meet his own standards or act in ways he finds distasteful, reflecting the strong moral core he holds both himself and those around him to.

The Fitzwilliam family is a relatively new branch of the pureblood Cantore family tree, having split off when Muggleborn Owen Fitzwilliam met Angeline Cantore in 1920’s New York after both families had immigrated there. After several generations living in the US, Dorian’s parents moved to New Zealand to try and stake their claim in the more newly established magical community of New Zealand and Dorian is the first of their family to grow up in New Zealand and attend Hogwarts here, a responsibility he takes seriously. He is fiercely loyal to his family and those he considered close friends and once his admiration is gained he will not waver in his support of them.
