Sky took a deep breath. She had had the idea of the Conglomerated Arts showcase since Casper suggested taking over the club. A way to showcase the talents in the club. Similar to the gallery that had been done previously but through a different medium. That was the thing about the arts club. Arts were so widely encompassing that it was often hard to keep everyone happy. While most of the people fit into either those who drew, or painted or made somehtng that you could physically seen and showcase through a gallery or those who played music there were others who often got forgotten, whose whose art was food, those who acted or wrote prose. those who designed clothes or danced, the opportunities for art were endless. and she hoped that this would allow a few people shine who didn't often get the chance.
The clubrooms had been a hive of activity over the last few weeks. there were rehearsals, with people getting more and more frantic closer they came to today. However there was also those helping with constructing the fantastic stage and creating decorations for the hall which from where sky stood looked amazing. then over the last couple of days the club had started to smell delicious as Renata and Aaliyah had got to work.

And now everything was ready. it was nearly time sky stood at the edge of the stage just out of site she looked down and checked her watch. it was almost time. and the audience was filling up. she a couple more minutes and then stepped out onto the stage. "Good Evening everyone. Welcome to the Conglomerated arts club showcase. My Name is sky, the conducted of the arts club. Before we begin. i want to thank everyone who has out time in alredry to make the evening possible especially those who may go a little noticed. so please can i have a round of applause for our front of house and refreshments teams" she paused for a moment "Who is easy for the show to begin?" she asked pausing for a reaction. "our first act tonight is a young man who has the huge job of going first. please give a huge welcome to Enoch Goldewyn and his flute" she said before moving to the side of the stage where she could see what was going on and be ready to step back out when he hd finished.

Enoch had decided this would be the best way to show off his talent, to prove to his roommates that playing an instrument had value, that it was more impressive than perfect grades. he didn't love having to go first, and hadn't played to an audience in a while, but it was the number he drew. Enoch had been practicing, in every spare moment, he had been in the arts room practicing his piece over and over again. The slytherin hadn't been practicing in the dorm, since his roomates seemed to be too uncultured to appreciate music.

It was just time for his performance. He had his flute, it was tuned and ready. He could do this. Enoch had put on a nice suit, the same one he'd worn to the dances, knowing that it was important to look the part. He didn't have his music with him, knowing it by heart, but in front of the crowd, he immediately wished that he had. It was just a lot of people, and his semester had shown him to not be as good at things as he had once imagined he would be. His parents were unwilling to give him that helping hand that they had always done so in the past. But he couldn't fail in front of all these people.

Enoch raised the flute to his lips and tried to block it out and then began playing. He had opted for Gabriel Fauré – Pavane, because it sounded good and while a litle complex, wasn't actually that hard. He could reach all of the notes with ease. He played relatively well, he played like someone who had practiced a lot, who was playing straight from the music, there was no flair to his playing. Enoch made a couple of mistakes, but always recovered. He was young and thus, it felt clear he had far more that he needed to learn, but overall he didn't crash and burn. The piece was only two minutes but it felt like an hour. He stopped playing, gave a short quick bow and then left the stage.

Eugene had been glad to support Sky in the running of this event. It was pretty cool to see all of the talent of the other people. He had not signed up, purely not having the time to dedicate to it. But he was happy to watch it. The first act was impressive, the boy played well. He could hear the odd mistakes but it seemed like the boy wasn't letting that deter him much. Eugene then walked on to the stage. "Give it up for Enoch Goldewyn," he said to the crowd. "Next up we have our very our Sky Eriksen with her viola!" he said letting Sky take the stage.

Sky listened to the boy play his flute. He did well. Especially as he was first and first was a fairly scary spot to be. She hadn’t planned on going second, but a last-minute change had left her in that position she was quiet as she got her viola out of its case and attached her wand to the little holster she and her dad had fashioned on the bow. not the most aesthetic addition but it was he best way to do what she was attempting without having a whole special bow like her mum had.
She readied herself side of stage as the boy finished his peace and smiled at him it had been a good performance, and she wondered if maybe she should try and learn a wind instrument, though she was more of a string girl at heart. well done. You did great she whispered to Enoch as he left the stage and then Eugene was introducing her turn. She walked onto stage her viola and bow in one hand and a box of multi-coloured powder in the other, pouring it onto the floor as she crossed the stage before casting a charm on it and getting into position. She took a deep breath and started to play.
as the first few notes rang through the hall, the hover charm she had cast caused the powder to rise into the air creating a cloud or myasma. As she played, she manipulated the cloud to form patterns and textures in time with the music as well as bringing different colours to the front or sending them back mirroring how the music felt to her. You could say that the piece was an original composition, or maybe it was a medley of pieces she had learned over time both modern and classical with just enough of each to recognise what it was before changing to something else. Sky was sure she would never be able to play it the same again. but she had planned it this way for a reason the charm was taking enough energy to manipulate and get working that she didn't want to have to also focus on getting something perfect. She just wanted to play and doing so meant that she could without having to think of getting it perfect and she could just play whatever she felt would be next. after a few minutes she felt her charm weakening, not that she could complain it was the longest she had managed to keep it going for, which was quite a win in her books so with a couple of last bars, she managed to direct the powder back into the box before stopping and, with a flourish of her bow, giving the audience a bow. before picking up her box and moving off stage.

Eugene had long thought he'd stopped being impressed by the talent at the school, but the show that Sky put on was incredible, a mix of music and magic. He felt a little bad for the one to follow her, especially as it appeared to be a number of music acts. But he stepped out on to the stage, applauding for Sky. "Wow, did you see that, that was so cool!" he said. "That was Sky Eriksen," Eugene cleared his throat. "Next up we have Santiago Torres with his guitar and vocals," Eugene led the applause as he left the stage.

Santiago was wishing he had a time turner so he could go back and prevent himself from ever signing up for this stupid thing. He loved playing guitar and was getting better at singing. Or at least he thought he was. It wasn’t like he let anyone hear him, on purpose. He had hoped in the time between signing up and the actual show he might get more confident and want to show the whole school what he was capable of. But the confidence he hoped to find wasn’t showing up and he could hear his name being called by Sky. It was too late to turn back now and he gripped the neck of his guitar. He could hear the strings bend before throwing the strap over his shoulder and taking to the stage.

The lights were bright in his face and Santiago had to squint to even see where the stage ended. “Um, hi.” he mumbled. “I’m going to play Blackbird by The Beatles.So…yeah.” His face felt like it was on fire but he tried to focus on what was just in front of him. He wiped his sweat palms on his pants before clearing his throat. He tapped his foot a few times to get the rhythm down and took a deep breath before playing the first note. Santiago had practiced this song a million times and heard it a million more. It was one of his grandmother’s favorite songs and therefore one of his dad’s favorites too. He should be able to do this in his sleep and he’d never ask his roommates to confirm it but he had probably been mumbling it in his sleep for the past week.

When the lyrics started Santiago’s voice felt shaky. His nerves made themselves known despite his best efforts. He could feel sweat on his face and back and pretty much everywhere. He had only been to a few concerts with his dad and he always noticed how sweaty the musicians got no matter the temperature. He understood now. As the song went on he got a little more comfortable and leaned into the muscle memory he had worked so hard to build. But he leaned a little too hard and felt his fingers fumble but only for a moment and he recovered quickly. When it was all over he let the last note ring as he blinked in shock that it was all over and he survived. He spared only a moment for applause before ducking off the stage to calm down.

Sky didnt realise how much her performance had taken until she had packed away her instrument and stood for a few moments, and then it felt like she had run a marathon. Her knees like jelly she leaned against the wall breathing deeply as she listened to and watched Santiago playing an old muggle song that must have been nearly a century old. it was a timeless song, and it made her think of the kind of thing her dad listened to in his office when she used to go there after work. He seemed nervous at first, but she could see his confidence increase as he progressed. and she found herself humumbling along to it to herself
In no time at all, he was finished and heading off the side of the stage. She smiled at him and gave him a high five as they passed "Well done. Santiago, that was great" she said. Before she was back on the stage. "Give it up to Santiago Torres and his superb performance of Blackbird" she said smiling. She paused for a moment to let the audience give up a round of applause. "Next up we have something a little unusual for you. An act that has been described as a combination of Rhythmic Gymnastics and Singing. Let me welcome to the stage Veronique Chatelain" she announced before leaving and letting Veronique take her place. Looking forward to seeing what this act would entail. it was one of the more intriguing-sounding acts that had signed up

please feel free to laugh or make fun of her now or later (and to her face)

Veronique had been preparing hard for her showcase act. She wanted to do something different, and while she still wasn't sure what exactly her act was (her father considered it "unique" while her mother said it was "performance art"), she didn't really care. The Hufflepuff just wanted to get on stage and show off her own skills. She couldn't do silks or be born into running a circus like Elara, but she had spent a large amount of time with her cousin when they were younger, attending dance classes that she used to prepare for the silks routines, and learning about stage presence. Veronique felt fully confident that she could use that to her advantage. The nervewracking part was probably going to be the singing. She'd taken voice lessons, as well as piano when she was very young, but singing wasn't something that came naturally to her or that she really enjoyed. However, it seemed like a lot of music acts had signed up, and rather than just doing some kind of dance routine, she wanted to stand out among the pack. It also could help her get noticed by some of her crushes.

The Hufflepuff had made sure to choose the perfect costume, and even though it was a handme down from Elara, she thought it worked. She had pulled her hair into two buns and place pink and silver glitter throughout her hair to match the high neck leotard. She'd added a long, sheer tie skirt and made sure her ribbons matched. Sitting backstage, Veronique listed to the first few acts as she stretched, and she started to get really nervous. Maybe she'd underestimated how talented some of these people were. Trying to shake off her nerves, she took a deep breath as Sky said her name, and walked out on stage.

Veronique placed her props in the right spots on the stage and then went to her starting position, which was laying on the floor. She had been worried about starting off on the right note and not starting too high, but she'd practiced by hitting the key on the piano and repeatedly; she imagined that in her head and started singing. She had arranged an acapella solo version of "My Immortal" by a very old American rock band.* She'd only prepared about 90 seconds of the song, but as she hit the first few notes, she waved her ribbons, attached to a stick, quickly so that all the audience could see was pink waving through the air.

She pushed herself up and started to do a few turns, but as she did her third one, the ribbon she was holding fell to the ground apart from the stick, and Veronique's foot caught it, causing her to fall. She stopped singing for a moment before dramatically turning to the audience, continuing the song as she pushed herself up, awkwardly dancing over to grab one of the balls. She spun some more, throwing the ball in the air and then holding it in both hands and moving her arms around in circles with the music. She went to spin some more, throwing the ball and watched as it didn't go just up but rather out towards the audience away from her. Her eyes widened as she continued to sing, knowing the end of the song was coming soon and grabbed the ribbon that still remaining on the floor, unattached to the stick. She started waving it frantically as she sang the last line, attempting and failing at a leap as she landed on her ankle incorrectly, causing her to fall again. Veronique was able to at least throw the ribbon up at the end and put a smile on for the audiene, but the damage was done. The Hufflepuff was mortified. She gentley pushed herself off the floor and ran off stage into the wing.

*The author would like to note that while this song is already challenging to the seasoned performer, the original singer of this song was an extremely trained vocalist. A 15 year old girl who is not trained as a singer, let alone a rock singer, can in no way perform this song without at least straining, 3 voice cracks, an extreme nasal quality to the tone, and

Sky watched the performance her breath catching in her throat as she saw Veronique fall. and from then things seemed to go down hill from there she wasn't sure if she should step in. would adding backing music help would intervening some other way help? she wasn't sure what to do. a few moments later she didn't have to decide the younger hufflepuff came running off towards her. "Are you okay? you did well to keep going. that took real guts. I'll be back in just a second if you want anything. and if anyone dares say anything about what happened make sure you tell me, Eugene or a professor okay" she said. before stepping onto the stage. "Give it up for Veronique. That was such a technically complex routine I don't know where to even start with it" she said. She had done a little bit of dance when she had been younger but never acrobatics or gymnastics. And she could only imagine the coordination and skill needed to even attempt something like that. The fact that the younger student got on stage to try it earned her a ton of respect in her books. as well as a little bit of big sister protection from her.
"Now it is time to welcome our next act to the stage. Lucy Montigue with a violin solo" she said before once again leaving the stage curious as to what kind of piece Lucy would play. Would it be something classical or folky or maybe a violin rendition of a modern song or something totally different?

OOCOut of Character:
@Lucy Montague you have 24 hours to post

Lucy had been excited to sign up for the show. She played violin and she knew she played relatively well, having done so since she was very little. It was something about her she didn’t always tell people, a hobby of her own just for her. But she loved to perform. The bit before? Not so much. Lucy was all nerves before her turn. It wasn’t crippling, but she could hardly stand to wait to go out there. It was a mix between wanting to be in that moment – be the one performing – and wanting to get rid of the awful anxiety brewing in her stomach. She could hardly think, but she knew she’d be okay. Her violin was in tune, she’d practiced and practiced (hopefully not too annoying for her dormitory mates) and it was time.

In all honesty, she was used to performing more in student orchestras than on her own, but she was ready. She stepped out onto the stand wearing a cute light blue dress with puffy short sleeves, holding her bow and violin with her. She smiled at the crowd, and placed the violin on her shoulder, readying herself. It was quiet, and tense. Lucy could feel the uncertainty – the question in the audience’s mind – the doubt that she might have any talent. But Lucy wasn’t too intimidated by it. She raised her bow, placed it on the string and gave a quick upbow followed by a sharp downbow, starting her piece. It was a strong opening, and Lucy didn’t falter, her fingers playing along the neck with practiced ease, her bow similarly moving with the grace of a swan. She’d decided on Bach – an absolute classic – violin concerto in a minor, first movement. It was a tricky piece, but she’d spent almost a year perfecting it, getting the intonation and the bowing right. She played fluidly, musically, yet every now and then her bowing would falter just slightly. It slipped somewhat and she found herself stuck doing bowing the wrong way round. She had to correct herself – finding a small place to fix it so she wouldn’t get lost, or worse, ruin the sound she had in mind.

The piece went on for four minutes, though it felt much shorter than that to Lucy. Her time on the stage went like a breeze to her, and as she played the last note – a long, gentle note with delicate vibrato - she felt a strange sense of sadness that it was over – it was gone. She let the note hang in the air for a moment, then took away her violin from her shoulder and gave a bow as the applause began. She smiled – a job well done – and left the stage, leaving it for the next act.

Sky listened as the young girl took to the stage and smiled as she recognised the piece. it was certainly a classical piece. and a complex one for sure. She closed her eyes enjoying the piece her fingers twitching by her side as if pressing imaginary notes as the music danced around her. With her eyes shut, she could almost be at home hearing her mum play or one of her more advanced students. once the piece was finished it took her a second to return to the great hall "wow. that was amazing" she said to the girl as she passed her on the side of the stage.
"Give it up for Lucy Montague and her violin." she said. "What an incredible performance on a very technical piece" she said still slightly awed. "Can you believe we are halfway through the show already? For the next act, we are deviating away from music and onto our first, and only double act of the show. Please welcome Felix and Thistle Carnahan who have a muggle magic show for you" she said. once again moving off the stage to let the next act take their space.

@Felix Carnahan and @Thistle Carnahan you have 24 hours to post. your act. you may each post multiple times

Felix was nervous. He had done these magic tricks loads of times but never in front of people, or at least this many people. But he had wanted to show people what he could do after practicing for years so when he heard about the talent show he grabbed Thistle and signed up right away. They were scheduled in the middle of the show so it meant a lot of waiting around. He wanted to pay attention to everyone else but instead he had spent the entire show pacing around backstage. Finally they were up and he felt his mind go blank for a moment before he snapped back to himself and took to the stage with Thistle beside him. “Hello everyone! I hope you’ve enjoyed the show so far. I am Felix Carnahan and this is my sister Thistle, who will be my lovely assistant today.” he announced with a bit of a flourish. He had found a cape and a top hat stashed away in the lost and found which did a lot to make him look like a muggle magician. “I am about to perform some illusions for you or magic tricks.” he began and used air quotes as he said magic tricks. “I know it doesn't sound very impressive to many of you since we can all levitate objects in first year. But I will be doing all of this with no magic at all.” He let his words trail off and hoped it sounded impressive.

Thistle had helped him bring out his supplies which really just included a small table with a long red table cloth on top. First up was a small squishy ball he pulled out of his pocket and showed to the audience. “As you can see this is just an ordinary ball and while I’m pretty good at transfiguration I don’t need it to make it disappear.” he said and quickly moved to place it in his other hand. In reality he had the ball tucked inside his original hand but to everyone in the audience it looked like it disappeared. For dramatic effect he blew into his empty hand to show just how empty it was. “But who knows maybe that was a magic ball. You don’t know where it came from but this, this is just a plain old galleon.” Felix announced as he pulled out a coin from his pocket. “As you can see my sister has agreed to help me out today. And for that I think she deserves something. Come here and try and grab it.” he instructed with a grin.

Thistle had been excited for today ever since she saw the sign up sheets. She hadn’t ever been on a real stage before, and it would be exciting to show off to the whole school, even if it was only as Felix’s assistant. She would have liked to put on her own magic act but Felix had come up with the idea first fair and square, and he actually knew how to do tricks, which was probably a pretty important requirement. She got to help at least, and that was still pretty good as far as she was concerned. She grinned brightly as she followed her brother up onto the stage, waving to the crowd as he began the act.

Thistle had seen Felix doing some of his tricks before so she knew them fairly well, even if she wasn’t totally sure how he pulled some of them off. So the shocked faces she pulled when the ball vanished were entirely for the audience’s benefit, playing up her shock to hopefully prompt them along. It wasn’t like she had anything to do yet, anyway. Her time came quickly though, and she grinned and waved again when Felix addressed her, bouncing over to her brother’s side. As instructed she began to eagerly grab for the galleon, already knowing not to expect to feel it in her hand.

Felix grin widened as Thistle reached for the coin but with a practiced hand he let it fall back into his left palm while flicking the galleon he had in his right hand out for everyone to see. “Oh sorry.” he said exaggeratedly through his laughter. “Sometimes these things have a mind of their own.” He repeated the trick a few times, switching which hand had the coin as he held it out for his sister to take. Letting her get close but never grabbing the coin.

Even knowing the trick, Thistle couldn’t help being a little frustrated by her brother keeping things away from her - instincts long left over from growing up with two older brothers. She grabbed at the coin a few times, playing it up for the audience to hide her genuine frustration, before finally getting her hands on the galleon. “Aha!” She said triumphantly, holding it up for the audience to see.

Felix knew this trick always annoyed his sister but it was one of his more convincing ones and he hoped the flash of the coin could be seen from the audience. But before he could move on to the next trick Thistle managed to grab the galleon out of his hand and momentarily ruined the effect. “Thistle.” he hissed under his breath, quiet enough the audience couldn’t hear. He tried to hide his frustration and he took a deep breath. His irritation clung to him but he still had a show to finish and he shook out his cape before smiling again. “Well good job. You deserve it.” he said tightly and held out his hand for the coin she held as he subtly swapped out the coin in his other hand for a playing card. “But I’m going to need that back if you want to see the next trick.” he said in a tone and widened his eyes to show just how serious he was. Thankfully she played along and dropped the coin back into his hand. Felix held it up to the audience. “Now who wants to see…” he started and paused for dramatic effect as he got his hands into position. “A card trick!” he proclaimed and in a quick motion that looked like the coin disappeared, he pulled out the playing card.

“Now card tricks are pretty standard when it comes to muggle magic shows.” Felix began to explain as he moved to the small table that had been set up for him. He reached down into his pocket yet again and pulled out a full box of cards. Or that was how it looked. It was actually empty. “Does anyone want to see a card trick?” he asked the audience rhetorically and was pleased when some people made sounds of interest. “Well if you insist.” he shrugged and made a big show out of moving the box around and trying to open them. “Oh, well…they don’t seem to want to cooperate.” Felix said, laughing awkwardly as he kept trying to open the box. After a dramatic struggle he made a motion that looked like clapping his hands together and it looked like the box disappeared. “Well that’s awkward.” he said and scratched his head as he looked at Thistle. “You didn’t bring another deck of cards with you by chance?” he asked. “I keep making things disappear today. Maybe I could try and make someone disappear?” he asked and tapped his chin and looked around the stage before looking at his sister.

Thistle knew she had ruined the trick a little bit, but momentarily getting one over her brother felt good. She handed the coin back obediently when asked, and watched Felix setting up for the next trick. It was another one she had seen a hundred times and was perfectly familiar with, but she was thrown off a little bit when he struggled to open the box. A moment later a very genuine gasp escaped her when Felix made it disappear entirely. This hadn’t been the plan, and she couldn’t help being impressed, as used as she was to his tricks. The best bit, as Felix pointed out a moment later, was that this brought them to the finale - Thistle’s time to shine. She gave a mock gasp at the idea of being vanished, pretending to be scared of Felix.

“I would greatly appreciate it if my lovely assistant would make this sacrifice.” Felix said dramatically and even bowed as he held out his hand for Thistle to take. When she did, he gracefully directed her a few feet in front of the prop table on stage with them. He placed his hands on her shoulders and stared into her eyes. “Are you ready?” he asked seriously. Once he got the ok, he dramatically removed the red velvet sheet that had been acting as a tablecloth. “Now for my last trick I will make a whole person disappear!” Felix announced. “With no real magic at all!” he added, which did lessen the effect slightly. He held the sheet in front of Thistle and waved it so the fabric billowed in all directions. “I hope you’re all enjoying the show so far. I’m sure there are some great acts still coming up!” he bantered for a moment to give Thistle enough time to make the trick work. After a moment he took a step towards the back of the stage, one after another until he was placing the fabric back on the table and Thistle was gone. With a triumphant grin he turned back to the audience and waited for their applause. “Tada! She’s gone!” he shouted and knew the trick wasn’t totally convincing just yet. “Now let’s bring her back!”

Felix grabbed the fabric once more and removed it from the table, without looking he presented the empty table as if Thistle was supposed to be there. Alarmed, he looked around the stage and made a show of looking all around the table as if it was somehow keeping a secret. “Right, I think she might just be comfortable. Wherever she is.” he said. “Let’s try again.” Once again he put the fabric back on the table and removed it but still there was just a table. “Well this is embarrassing.” he said and scratched the back of his neck. “I think she needs a little encouragement.” With that he tried to get the audience to cheer and shout as much as he could before covering the table for a third time. Felix waved his arms until the entire great hall was as loud as he had ever heard it. He let them keep it up just long enough for Thistle to do what she needed to do. This time when he pulled away the fabric Thistle was there and popped up like she had never left.

Thistle had been looking forward to this trick since the moment Felix had asked her to do it, and it was hard to keep from grinning as she “reluctantly” agreed to help. She took her place carefully, making sure she was in the right spot. As soon as the fabric was hiding her from the audience’s view she ducked down, slipping through the trapdoor concealed in the stage into her little hiding place below. It was a bit of a squish but she managed to get in there, staying hidden as she listened to Felix continuing the trick from below, grinning broadly. She waited for the audience’s cheers before scrambling into place on the table, beaming and striking a pose as Felix revealed her triumphant return. “TA-DA!” She yelled brightly, arms flung high for dramatic effect.

Felix felt a wave of relief like nothing he had ever felt before as Thistle beamed at the audience. It had worked, everything had worked just like he hoped. His adrenaline was pumping and he was a little worried he would pass out the second he left the stage but for now he was riding high. He took his sister’s hand and they walked to the center of the stage to do a dramatic bow. Felix nearly lost his hat but he scrambled to catch it just in time before waving to the audience as he left the stage, grabbing his props as he went.

Sky watched the magic show from the wings. she was sure that she didn't have the best angle to view it from as she could mostly see felix's back and the side of the props. but the audience seemed to be having a good time judging from the cheers and woops. she saw thistle disappear and reapear again much to people's surprise. when the paid finally came towards her she put out a hand for a high five. "that was a good show. you will have to show me the one with the gallon some time, it sounded entertaiing" she said before she stepping out onto the stage. "Felix and thistle everyone. what a show. give it a few years and professors Odegard and Styx may be out of jobs" she said.
"our next act tonight is a musical number by the very talented Aaliyah Chun with a musical number" she said. beforeleaving the stage for aaliyah to take.

OOCOut of Character:
@Aaliyah Chun you have 24 hours to post.

Aaliyah was shaking the nerves out of her hands. This would be the first time she would be using one of her performance pieces in school. Yes, she sang during their sessions in CAC but she mostly stuck to playing the piano and the usual songs. She smoothed out her dress, one her mother sent out a few days prior to the show. Imagine her mother's surprise when the Gryffindor told her what the dress was for. She peeked from the side of the stage to see the hall packed and enjoying each performance. It seemed that Thistle and Felix were already about to wrap up their show and she would be up next. Not soon enough, Sky appeared on the stage again as she was host for the night. A few words and her name was called.

Aaliyah took a deep breath and walked to the center of the stage. Her mother sent the phonograph disc that contained the melody of her number. She had arranged for a phonograph and it would be played the moment she was ready. She glanced to the side and nodded, signaling she was ready. The first few notes came and she took one final breath before beginning to sing. She felt at home as she was singing, The words came naturally, her hands matching the gestures just like the way she practiced numerous times back at home. The nervousness was still there but listening to the familiar melody pushed it to the back of her mind. She was ready and this was her element somehow. She hit the notes right, glad to have finally decided to do this piece for the show. She was almost to the end of the piece and though it felt like five minutes, it was just really a short one. She was on the last line and she managed to tweak it to prolong it for another two seconds before letting the melody die down. She did it, her cheeks blushing and warm from all the excitement. She really sang in front of the many students and professors at school. She gave a small curtsy before slowly making her way to the side of the stage, smiling at Sky as she passed her by.

Sky watched Aaliyah walk out onto the stage looking like a princess. she got the backing track ready for her and set it playing. listening to the girl singing. she didnt recognise the piece. or understand what she was singing but she couldn't help but admire the control she had on her singing. that was something she had realised today. as musical as she was and she knew she both enjoyed playing and had some talent. but there were a lot more talented students in the school.
It wasnt long until Aaliyah's song ended. she watched the girl take a bow as she stoped the backing music "wow that must have taken a lot of practice" she said to the girl as she game off stage before she stepped on. "Wow. Wasn't Aaliyah incredible. can we get another round of applause for her" she said. once the audience was once again quiet she continued to talk, "and not only is she an incredible singer she is also one of the people who are behind the snacks at the food stand tonigh along side retata. I wold like to say a big thank you to you both." She said pausing for a second to let the audience clap and clapping herself. Also the evening wouldn't be the same without out front of house team who have been busy building and setting up the stage as well as decorating the hall. not an easy task with how little time there has been since dinner," she said. "thank you to
@Oswald Brambleheart, @Gemma Delaney, @Rion Pendleton, and @Silas Broomhead"
she said. she paused for a moment "Now let's get back on with the show. Our next act is another change of pace from the musical performers. instead we have a ballet act ready to perform for you. so without any further ado give it up for Lennox Addison." she said clapping before moving off stage to let the fourth year have the space.

Lennox barely was watching the other acts. She heard some music and some singing. Some applause here and there, but she was more focused on herself, which wasn't much different than any other day. The Slytherin girl had been practicing this performance since the start of the school year, although she had not really planned on performing it until the CCA announced their talent show. An amazing debut. She hoped she would be able to culture the people in the audience who had to sit through the useless acts before her.

After what felt like forever, and some thanking of other people that didn't matter to Lennox, it was her turn. She had found a way to have the piano music playing as she performed. Now she just had to shine. Lennox was dressed in a new outfit, all pink of course. Yet she had trained multiple times in the outfit, making sure it was 'broken in' enough to be comfortable. There was no room for mistakes.

She gracefully walked onto the stage, taking her spot in the center, facing away from the audience at first. She hoped that someone in the audience had been cultured enough to bring flowers to toss after. But first you need to do this Lennox thought getting focused. She began in first position as she nodded to start the music. The second she heard the first note, she was in her element.

Lennox began to perform the wonderful ballet that she had worked so hard on. Her legs gracefully hitting each position, each step. There was not as large jete in this dance, but the music called for a more graceful and slow movement. Lennox followed along with the music, not paying attention to anything about her but the movements of her body. She didn't even think about how dirty the ground would be as she finished on that very ground. She stood up as the music came to an end. Bowing a few times, her heart pounding.

She had missed performing so much, even if she doubted it was as appreciated as it should have been. As always, Lennox felt like she was perfection, as was everything else she did. This dance was no different, obviously. The Slytherin girl waited a few moments for her performance to sink in with the audience before leaving the stage, walking towards the side. She grabbed a nearby cup of water once she was out of sight and made sure to take tiny sips.

Sky took a seat at the piano at the back of the stage and got Lennox's sheet music up in front of her. piano was not her favourite instrument, but her mum had insisted it was a good foundation to any musician so she had learned. And she had been practising the piece a lot to make sure she got it right. She didnt watch the dancing much instead she focused on the music in front of her. however, what she did see was a graceful contemporary dance which she was fairly sure she even saw a forward roll at one point. When she reached the end of the music she slipped off the piano into the wings taking her music with her. as Lennox bowed and exited the stage. "Well done. was a beautiful dance" she whispered as they passed. she then made her way back to the middle "Lets have another round of applause for Lennox and that a beautiful and graceful performance" she said before and pausing clapping. "now we are nearing the end of the show. Please welcome the second last act of the night Van Voclain with song on the piano" she said moving to one side and waving her wand. The piano that she had just been using now rolling from the back of the stage to the prime position. Ready for Van's song.
sky left the stage.
