Bi-Weekly Update

It's time for another bi-weekly update, and the site has been quite busy this past fortnight so settle in and have a read!

Heading into week 4...already!
Wow. With the first three weeks done, we just want to encourage professors to keep up with grading and to ensure they have a make-up lesson area posted. Students, keep earning those house points!

Halloween Feast
It's not all school work and grades. The Halloween Feast opened on Friday, and there's another opportunity for roleplays and house points through the costume contest.

Brightstone Weekend: Now Open
The Brightstone weekend was opened over the weekend. Third years and above can also access Makutu Mall and shop there.

Club events
As the club fair begins to slow down, be on the look out for the various clubs to post events. The WPC already has their first event up and the HM is already working on their first issue (HM staff: go check out the area!). And don't forget about the unofficial clubs that have popped up this year!

The Quidditch season is underway!
The Y49 quidditch season began last week with a game between Slytherin and Hufflepuff with Slytherin taking the first win of the season. Take a look at the game here and follow the OOC conversations here.

All of the quidditch guests have now been given access to the stands; we're eager to see how the addition of these spectators goes!

Also as I'm sure you've all noticed, we weren't able to implement the changes we mentioned regarding snitch points that we said we would for this IC year but they are still pending and should hopefully be in place for the next season. Some changes need to be made on the back end of the quidditch system to accommodate gameplay changes.

The birthday celebrations continue!
HNZ's 20th birthday celebrations are in full swing with two games still set to begin. We hope you're enjoying yourselves through all of the festivities and a big thank you for joining us and taking part in all of it. :D

So far: Bomb Storm has ended with Faye being declared the winner  and Werewolf has ended with the Ministry Officials taking an early win over the Scitorari. :drat: :p Good work team Ministry!

A few other things have or are about to move into the voting stages: Decorate the Birthday Cake & the Emoticon Story Competition so go vote!!

Special abilities: Pay it forward
With an influx of applications to obtain special abilities, we just wanted to ask that those of you who have already gone through the process of obtaining a special ability, as your capacity allows, be willing to help others to complete the requisite training roleplays towards obtaining abilities for their characters.

We also want to encourage for individuals who are willing to help to pay attention to their own capacity to help and not take on more than 2-3 mentees at a time. Our hope is that in spreading the wealth related to this that folks won't feel overwhelmed or overburdened.

We have so many plot highlights this BWU!
  • The Lost Spiderweb Chronicles - Another thread of a irresponsible pet owner not keeping an eye on their pet tarantula and a very displeased (and panicked) Ravenclaw
  • I Sit Alone Behind Walls of Regret - It's the first night at Hogwarts for the new Hufflepuff firsties, and the girls comfort their newfound friend over a house sorting mishap
  • SURPRISE SHAWTY! - During the vacation between the school years Mania got fed up with her parents and decided to show up at the Baros' apartment unannounced declaring herself now their new roommate. :r What can I say she's chaos wrapped up in a 4ft something girl. Also read: Well this is it, my family
  • Wherever I Go, I'll Take It With - Juniper has a habit of carrying a jar of sand with her and an older boy (Logan) notices it and decides to comment on it which makes Juniper who is already feeling out of sorts in her new life very anxious. :r
  • Batman Activities - Lilith and Susie are having a little heart to heart catch up so to say, very cute bonding discussion.
  • The Brew Crew - A new unofficial club has surfaced and there may or may not be a lil drama in the recruitment process :r Very interesting and useful club too not saying you should check it out but I am definitely saying you should!!

  • Costume contest winners 👻
  • more quidditch 🧹
  • More birthday fun :frantics:

Whew, that was a lot. Hope you had as much fun reading as I had writing this up! Have a lovely fortnight!
