Beauxbatons Quidditch Practice

Jamie got close enough to the goal and threw the ball, surprised when it was successful and he had actually managed to score. The teen smiled to himself, he would need to keep working to be better at it, but that was a good show.

Fletcher watched as Maia hit a bludger, and hit it herself a few moments later, sending it straight up into the sky. She wasn't aiming at one at all, but it was nice to know she was getting better at making contact.

Celine was now beginning to have a very bad, bad practice. The Quaffle flew just past her fingertips once again, and she couldn't help the feeling of uselessness that washed over her. Using the time in which she had her back turned from the rest of the team to retrieve the Quaffle, Celine composed herself and made sure to fix a grim smile onto her face. When she was once again facing down the pitch, she tossed the Quaffle back into the middle of where the Chasers were waiting to take possession.

Maia continued to search for bludgers again, keeping an eye out for bludgers being aimed at the players closest to her.

Fletcher moved through the sky, a bludger passing straight in front of her face. She jumped on her broom, before regaining her composure and heading after it.

Elvira hadn't been paying close attention to the game, but she saw the look on Celine's face and knew it probably wasn't going well for her. Abandoning her search for the snitch for a moment, she flew closer to her friend, giving her a quick clap on the shoulder. "Our chasers are just awesome, you'll do better against the bad ones at Hogwarts, okay?" She said, flying a circle around her.

Jessica cheered briefly when she saw Jamie score another goal because she was happy the Chasers were doing really well even those she had been worried about, but she also knew Celine must not be feeling too happy right now. The beater gave her an encouraging smile, knowing what the girl was capable of, and then continued to fly off in search of a bludger she could track down but they all seemed to be too fast for her, which was only frustrating her more.

Theodore flew close to the stands, and for a moment, imagined what it would be like to actually have it full of people. He could only wonder how much more pressure there would be to do with, with hundreds of people spectating. He guessed he'd find out eventually, he just hoped he was ready by then.

Brendan took a deep breath as Jamie managed to score. It was good, and bad, and the older chaser thought maybe he should say something to Celine, but Elvira beat him to it. Hopefully some friendly reassurance would make her feel better, and subsequently play better. Everyone had their off days. Taking possession of the quaffle yet again, Brendan flew it back over to the newbies hoops, and tossed it through one of the hoops as he entered the scoring zone. It sailed through, giving them another scoring point, and he flew back to see who would take it next.

Brendan sailed another goal past her. Though frustrated, Cassi had to give credit to her captain's skill. With this in a real game, they would definitely win against Hogwarts. She caught the quaffle and threw it back to the middle waiting for the chasers to bring it back to Celine. She felt bad for the girl and she pumped her fist to Celine with an encouraging smile.

If anyone was having a bad day in practice, it was Jess. She was proud of her team for how much they'd accomplished during today's session but she couldn't seem to make her hits find their targets. Frustrated, Jess swung her bat at a bludger but only sent it rocketing away towards no one, at the very least.

Once again, Theodore caught sight of the elusive snitch across the pitch, if only barely. He veered his broom around and headed toward it, hoping he could get close enough before it flitted away again.

With the Chasers coming back towards her, Celine tried to empty her mind of all their previous attempts and just focused on watching who had the Quaffle and where they were currently positioned on the field as they sped towards her.

Fletcher watched as the players were seemingly becoming more and more frustrated, and she could understand why. It was tiring work to stay concentrated for so long, and she was going to enjoy winding down after the practise, let alone a real game.

Maia had been following a bludgers around the pitch, hoping she could catch up to it Soon, when it suddenly turned around and was headed straight for her. She stretch her beaters arm once the iron ball was close enough and hit it hard with her bat. She had aimed for Cheryl but saw that it went towards Fletcher instead.

While Jess was looking around to see if everyone was okay she heard a bludger hurtling towards her from behind. As she turned around she didn't have time to swing and merely dodged it instead to avoid being hit, clinging on to her broom so she wouldn't slip off. After it continued on its path, Jessica adjusted herself and huffed, brushing strands of bright red hair out of her face.

Brendan watched with a slightly bemused smile as Jessica dodged a bludger, and he flew over toward her. "It's an interesting new tactic you're trying this game - avoiding all the bludgers. Are you planning on hitting any before the practice ends?" He teased with a grin, though it was shocking how much better the new beaters had been doing in comparison. He chalked it up to Sica being too busy trying to keep an eye on everyone else.

Theodore tailed the snitch for what felt like ever, getting closer and closer, only for it to dart away at the last second until finally, he was close enough to reach out and swipe at it. He did so, his fingertips brushing the golden ball, and he curled it back into his palm, feeling its fluttering wings briefly struggle against his skin. He stopped dead in the air, taking a moment to catch his breath and to look at the snitch in his hand in semi-disbelief. Had he really caught it again? Something had to be up. Maybe someone had jinxed it to be easier after all. Or maybe he was just not actually too bad at this seeker position. "Hey, Elvira! Everyone!" The boy called out, holding the snitch up into the air for everyone to see once again. He was catching up, if a little slowly, but it was still a hundred times better than he'd expected to do on his first practice.

Elvira was busy looking around for the snitch, when she heard Theodore call her name. She looked up to see him with the snitch again, and laughed in delight. Five snitch catches in one practice. They had to be the best team of seekers ever. She flew over to him. "That's awesome! Hogwarts doesn't stand a chance!"

Celine briefly broke concentration as the younger seeker called out to show everyone that he had caught the snitch again. He looked pretty excited, and she smiled briefly before turning her attention back to the chasers. She could hear Elvira yelling words of encouragement to the kid too, and that also made her smile - her friends words earlier had definitely helped cheer her up.

Fletcher heard the now familiar celebration of a seeker catching the snitch, but as she turned to Theo she saw something much more alarming. A bludger was heading I'm her direction and despite having a few seconds to be able to react, the third year froze, feeling the full impact of the ball on her dominant shoulder. She did her best not to cry out as she was hit for the first time, suddenly feeling more guilty about hitting Maia previously. She blinked back tears, hoping she would be able to ignore the pain and continue defending others against a brutal attack of their own.

Jess laughed at Brendan's comment, hanging her head in shame even though she knew he was just kidding. "Ha, shut up or I'll target you next time," she joked. It was more frustrating than concerning to her that she seemed to be missing all her shots, but she chalked it up to putting too much pressure on herself expecting everything to go right. Well she couldn't have it all. She didn't know if she preferred doing well herself or her team doing well.

Just as she flew off to try and find something to hit, she heard the young Seeker shout out as he caught the snitch for the second time that practice, and the fifth overall for the entire team. "Awesome!" she exclaimed happily, answering her own internal struggle, happy for her team overall. "Let's get to 1000 points?" she challenged them with a small smirk. Seeing how well this practice was going she felt nothing was impossible anymore.

With that in mind, Sica flew off in search of a bludger, determined to hit one this practice, at the very least, and then caught up with one. As she swung her bat, she felt it collide with the hard ball and tried to send it flying towards the nearest player, but the angle of her hit caused it to veer off course and it hit Brendan instead. Sica felt bad for threatening to hit him earlier, as that hadn't been her actual intention but saw that it happened anyway and she laughed as she mouthed out a 'Sorry' to him, relieved at having hit something regardless.

Brendan celebrated with the others once the new seeker caught the snitch again, ecstatic to see both of them doing so well. He was feeling great about this practice, but that high was short-lived as Jessica sent a bludger his way, and he didn't have time to avoid it. He grit his teeth as it painfully slammed into him, hissing cursing under his breath, but he couldn't help but feel like it was his own fault. Perhaps teasing Jessica had been all the encouragement she needed. He rubbed his arm and looked up at the beater, hearing her laughing at him, he couldn't help but laugh a bit too. He had it coming. "You weren't kidding! " He called out to her. Maybe he should tease her performances more, though he wasn't so sure he could take another bludger.

Theodore let the snitch go, feeling crazy excited about the practice. He already couldn't wait for them to go overseas and play against the New Zealand team. Surely their seekers weren't as good as Beauxbatons. They were doing amazingly, and Jessica's goal of a thousand points was one he really wanted to reach before the practice ended. Veering off, he sought out the snitch once again, hoping to even the score against Elvira.

Cassi chuckled as Theo caught the snitch again. Hearing Jessica raises the point target, she nodded and readied herself. She saw a bludger hit Brendan by Jessica, although, she was shocked to see the captains laugh it off.
