Before the end of the lesson, Irene Finch hoped that all of the students would succeed in apparating to their target. She knew that wouldn't be the case, but the pressure was on for the students. This was the last practice after all. Several of the students had managed to apparate during the last lesson even with the splinching that had happened, but that didn't always translate to success at the exam.

Addressing the small group of sixth years, Irene walked as she spoke. "Today, we will resume practicing" she began, her icy blue eyes staring at each of the students in turn as she spoke. "I am hopeful that those of you who weren't able to apparate last time will do so today. The next time we meet will be your exam and you will only get one opportunity to succeed or fail. Your test will require you to be accurate when you apparate." She let that sink in before continuing on.

"Line up beside me please." It didn't take them long to queue up. "Alright...I'd like you all to attempt apparating from this end of the Great Hall to that end" she said, pointing towards the doors of the Great Hall. "The red X marks the spot" she added, knowing that they had probably noticed an X etched onto the floor with magic as they walked in. Glancing at all the students beside her, she hoped there would be no splinchings today, though she had asked for one of the school nurses to join them once again. "You can begin whenever you're ready" she said to the student who was first in line. "As soon as you feel comfortable, you may leave. But, please do remember that this is your final opportunity to practice before your exam." They were adults by wizarding standards or close enough anyway, so she wasn't going to force any of them to stay. It was in their best interests to take advantage of the time provided to them though.

Practice attempting to apparate one by one. Practice as many times as you'd like. Please warn me via PM if you plan on splinching.

Aonghas was keeping his head down as the semester kept rolling on, he wanted nothing more than to just relax with him being so close to the end but he really couldn’t lose sight just yet, he had to just focus on what he was doing, focus on the work he had and then before he knew it it would all be over. He just had to keep working, not lose focus and everything would be okay. It wasn’t too hard to do really, this was how he’d more or less always approached his schooling, but it was just a little different when he was just oh so close to being able to leave. He was working on the homework, having been up for a little while and he wasn’t really managing to focus on it. Homework felt quite deadend when he knew he’d not use it at all. But he finished it off and then placed it into his school bag. He gathered up the different things he would need, making sure that he had all the different things for the day. He got himself dressed and then when he was finally ready he headed out of the door.

Aonghas walked into the great hall with the rest of the year group and immediately spotted what they would be doing. He was reminded by the professor as she started speaking that this would indeed by the last occasion he had to get good at it before the exam. He was sure his dad and his family could get him endless tries, but he wanted to pass. He looked to the teacher as she explained what they were to do and the first student went. Aonghas was deeply hopeful that no one would end up splinching like last lesson. He watched as people went before him and then eventually it was his turn. He stepped forward and looked towards the X at the other end of the room. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, remembering the three D’s and then focusing. After what felt like impossibly long, Aonghas finally felt the tug and he left himself be pulled across the room and leaned in. With a crack he was across the hall and on the X. He felt rather pleased with himself, even though it had taken a while. The hufflepuff moved out the way and let someone else go, but he managed to practice a few more times before the lesson was brought to an end.

Apparition lessons were kind of fun and Emily has already thought about the possibilities of knowing the skill. It could give you so much freedom since you could also do it over longer distances. She had a little rivalry with Tyler that was still healthy and she loved how well these lessons were going. Last lesson some girl had decided to splinch herself which looked horribly. When Emily walked into the Great Hall she listened to the Ministry Instructor and then got in the line. When it was her turn she took a good look at the X that was placed in the room. She thought of the three D's and then it was time. The feeling of actually doing it was quiet weird. It felt like you were turned inside out and then put back together like an odd human puzzle. Emily grinned at Tyler and walked back so she could practice again. Then the lesson came to and end and she left the Great Hall.

Cyzarine was a little sad with how quickly this semester had gone, mostly because she knew after this she only had one year left and Cyzarine knew she would deeply miss hogwarts when she left, it had been so much fun for her, so good, so good to her. She knew not everyone could claim a good run at Hogwarts but she could and she was quite happy with that. She knew that she didn’t have a choice and wouldn’t stay she would graduate and leave school next year. For now though, she could just focus on this week, on this set of exams, on the fact she had time left at school. The teen was just finishing getting ready, she had put on her make up and then was beginning to head out of the dorm room and to her first class of the day.

Cyzarine walked into the great hall, practically bouncing on her feet. She was so keen to just try apprating again. She knew someone had been hurt the previous time but that did not dampen her excitement over it. The girl looked to the teacher and nodded along at the instructions. As she listened along to what they would be doing, Cyzarine quite happily moved closer to the top and beginning to the line, she really just wanted to try it again and have enough goes that come the exam she would feel so incredibly confident at it. Cyzarine watched the first few people go and then it was her turn. She stood where she was supposed to and then focused her mind. It took a moment to bring her excitement down. When she felt ready she visualised where she wanted to go and then focused on it. After a moment she felt the tug and let herself move into it, a large crack and she was at the other side. Cyzarine was rather pleased and pleased she was all in one piece. She joined the end of the queue and then waited until she could have another go, doing it as many times as the teach would allow her before she left the hall. She was feeling pretty confident about the upcoming exam.

Jasper was surprised by how quickly the school year was going. Slowly his time with Arinna seemed to be ticking away. He tried not to think too much about it, but his heart was certainly heavy as he stepped into class. He sighed, smiling softly at Arinna and the other Jasper, before turning his attention to the instructor. He took his place in line, watching the others before him go with varying success. He stepped up when it was his turn, shutting his eyes and leaning into it. With a crack Jasper found himself on the other end of the room. Apparating was almost effortless for him, though his aim needed work. He frowned a bit and went back to the line. By the time they were kicked out, he was sure his aim was greatly improved and he was very confident in his work.

Apparition was still exciting, but it had lost some of its appeal after Lily had splinched herself in front of everyone. Jasper wasn't likely to forget that, and felt a bit more nervous than he had the last two times when he headed to the great hall for the final apparition lesson. The teacher was as cheerful as always, and Jasper kept his mouth shut as he listened to her. It seemed like they were going to apparate one by one. Jasper lined up, looking over at the other side of the great hall to see the red X. They were to begin, and Jasper tried to remember what he had done last week. It had worked, but he couldn't exactly pinpoint how. When it was his turn, he tried to remember the three D's and focus on the similar feeling to last week. Finally, he managed to apparate and to his delight and surprise, he appeared right on the X. Jasper tried a few times, growing more confident with each successful attempt. Though he noticed that Lily wasn't here, which made him a bit sad. He guessed she had given up on it entirely. He couldn't blame her, but he still kind of wished she was here and trying it again. When the lesson was over, Jasper left the great hall.

Lars was lightly terrified of apparition now, after what had happened last time, he was wondering if it was really worth it. It seemed very convenient, especially when Fleur could literally pop over for a visit whenever she felt like it over break, but it was also dangerous. Lars saw to his dismay that Lily wasn't even here today, and he hoped she was doing okay. But the teacher wasted no time reassuring them or even talking about what had happened, she launched straight into the lesson. Lars lined up with everyone else, feeling nerves dancing around in his stomach. The red X was very far away, and Lars hadn't even managed to apparate into the hoop last week. When it was his turn, he tried his best but he didn't manage it. Frustrated, Lars tried again and again. After a few attempts, he finally managed to apparate, though it was nowhere near the target. Lars apparated to about halfway across the hall. It wasn't good enough, but he was still happy. He practiced longer, until he finally managed to reach the X a few times. When the lesson was over, he felt cautiously hopeful for the exam, even if it also still scared him.

Tyler was frustrated with how the duelling tournament had gone. He couldn't believe he had lost to Blake, of all people. It was humiliating, especially because Sydney had won for her year. It was a bad look for the president of the club to lose to some nobody, especially if that nobody was his former best friend. Tyler had decided to focus on his lessons for now and not linger on it, though it really did frustrate him.

The Slytherin headed to the Great Hall for the final apparition lesson, aware that this was his last chance to practice before the exam. Miss Finch told them they would only get one opportunity to succeed or fail on the exam, which made Tyler just a bit nervous. He then lined up with his classmates when she told them to, listening to the instructions. They had to apparate across the Gerat Hall to a spot with a red X. Tyler watched his classmates as they attempted it, some more successful than others. When it was his turn, he managed to apparate though he didn't end up exactly where he had hoped. He was close though, so he kept trying until he could reliably apparate to the red X. Emily had gotten it before him, but he had managed in the end. He smiled back at her, even if he was a bit frustrated that she had been faster. When the lesson was over, Tyler left the great hall, fairly sure he would do okay on the exam.

The second week of classes had thankfully gone quicker for Sophie than the first, but that didn't mean Sophie didn't wish she was back at home minding her own business. She didn't like how energetic everyone around her seemed. Classes were actually a good distraction at this point, and the Ravenclaw felt content as she packed everything she needed into her backpack and made her way to her classes.

Sophie entered the Great Hall with the rest of her year mates for her third lesson of Appatition. She didn't really care that much about it and just knew she had to comply so she could quickly meet the standards and get out. She listened as the Ministry lady spoke, telling everyone that they were to line up and practice apparating to the other end of the room in turns. Sophie stayed towards the back of the line, observing as the people in front of her went first. They all seemed to be doing well and Sophie just kept reminding herself of the Three D's as she etched closer to the front. When it was her turn she closed her eyes and attempted to focus to get herself to the other side. She stood there for at least a minute before anything happened, and she was shocked to find that when she opened her eyes after a few tries, she had done it. She quickly stepped away from where she had apparated and left.

Selene made her way to the great hall. She had dressed simply and her hair was tied at the nape of her neck in a loose braid. this was the last apparition class and she really hoped that she would be able to do it. it would make her life so much easier. She had practiced thinking with destination determination and deliberation over the week. often taking steps not that she was expecting anything to happen as operation was blocked on the school but one time she thought that there had been a feeling of something pushing against her but that had probably been her imagination.
she listened as ms Finch explained what was going to happen. and felt herself sink a little she hadn't managed to apperate yet now shewas meant to do it with everyone watching. she joined the line glad to be near the back end waited for her go hoping that some people would decide to leave before she had to go. but she didn't have much luck. It was her go with almost the full group behind her. She focused on the cross really focused and took a step. she wasn't suppose that nothing happened. she had thought that would be the case and that nagging worry was its own self fulfilling prophecy.
her second go was not much more successful than the first and her relief that the group was starting to shrink was not replaced by her concern that she hadn't managed it once. this time she would be ready. She really focussed on the gross imagined stepping and being there and let other thoughts drift out of her mind as shewaited. a technique professor Chamberlin had taught her before for seeing. she stepped. straight though nothing to the other end of the room. She hadn't quite made the cross but at least she had made it somewhere. she went to put her other foot down and wabbled violently. havbing to grab hold of a bench to steadt herself. she looked down at her foot and only then did the pain hit her. If she had been raised on muffle cartoons she may have described it as Wile E. Coyote running off a cliff and only falling once he looked down. her foot wasn't there. she wasn't going to scream. she didn't know if she had the energy to shoult she was suddenly feeling very faint. she let our a nice that sounded like a grimace in audio form. half-sitting mostly falling to the ground. she hoped that the nurse would be able to help her like they had helped Lillian last week.

Irene set off at a run, or as much of one as she could manage with her heels as she saw the girl wobble. She hoped the nurse was paying attention and would be just behind her. As she neared, she was happy that they'd allowed more space this time and the students were a ways away. It wasn't a pretty sight. "The nurse will be here to help, just..." she summoned a dinner napkin and held it for the girl to grab and press to her wound until the nurse made her way. "Press down as hard as you can bear" she added. As soon as a nurse arrived, Irene nodded towards the girl and then moved back to the group. "Continue...and remember the 3 Ds" she stated, hoping there'd be no more splinching today.

Since Lily’s splinching, Apparation had been that much more nerve-racking to think about. Elliot knew he couldn’t risk wasting any practice time, especially with the actual exam so close, but he still had to pick at his hands nervously as he joined his classmates in the hall to listen to Ms Finch. His only saving grace in all this was that the possibility of failing scared him more than the potential of splinching himself, or at least that was what Elliot kept telling himself as he lined up to begin practice.

Having the whole class watch while you tried to apparate wasn’t going to make things any easier, though Elliot did release an anxious breath when he was able to see some of his other classmates weren’t sweeping through practice on their first try. He’d been busy psyching himself up for his turn when Selene went next, and Elliot’s stomach twisted when she reappeared a second later, something clearly wrong. She was on the other side of the room, so Elliot couldn’t see well, turning his head when Ms Finch rushed over and he thought he saw blood. Stomach sour, Elliot tried to focus on his own practice as Selene was taken care of, trying to visualize the X in front of him and not Selene’s face. After a few minutes of nothing, Elliot shook his head mutely, excusing himself to the back of the line. He just needed a moment. The class continued, and Elliot thankfully had managed to catch his breath by the time his turn came around again. He still felt like he could feel everyone’s eyes on him, as if the class was just waiting for another huge mistake, but Elliot tried to tune out, focusing on the X in his mind and nothing else. He felt the tugging this time, relieved as he opened his eyes to find he’d managed to move. He wasn’t exactly on the X, but close enough to feel some progress. He lingered a little longer as the lesson went on, managing to land on target a handful of times before the lesson was ended.
