The little poltergeist had been dropping hints all month. It wasn't that Ava had forgotten it had been a year since he showed up, but to be honest, Ava hadn't planned on throwing Vex a party. Her life had been pretty busy, but she figured that everyone in the school could do with a little fun. Though Vex had talked a lot about having a party, Ava didn't let him know that she was planning one. Instead, she sent him on a super secret mission to look out for potential troublemakers up in the Astronomy Tower, and he was only allowed to be back at a certain time. She had plenty of time to set up, the door had slime over it so whoever entered through the front door would be slimed - luckily there was a back door so if people were clever enough they'd enter through that one. There was food of course, and a big basket of eggs for Vex to throw at his pleasure. There was a tank of color changing fish, balloons that spontaneously exploded, sometimes filled with glitter, sometimes with more slime and goo. All the kind of chaos a poltergeist would like. It was an open invitation, anyone could attend the party, but hopefully some unsuspecting students would stumble across the mayhem as well.

A single year was nothing compared to the millennia Anmoch Marcach had lived, or, more accurately, existed, but the warrior could respect that it was a milestone none the less. The first of many, for the poltergeist toddler. The Ghost of Slytherin House did not appreciate the being's chaotic antics and disruptions, but for one day, he'd put up with it. It wasn't particularly deserving of a celebration, but the Headmistress appeared to have a soft spot for the demon, and seemed to be enthused about the idea of throwing it it's own party. Why she allowed it to roam free and wreak havoc as she did was beyond the gaelic ghost, but he could not question her authority. Poltergeists were difficult to remove, but the woman was not as strict as Anmoch would have been in life.

The Dark Rider, seated atop his spectral horse, phased through the wall of the abandoned classroom the party was set the take place in. His incorporeal form was not enough to set off any of the traps laid down, but the water of the fish tank rippled as his steed rode through it, startling the color changing fish inside and dropping the liquids temperature to a single degree for the few moments he passed. Surprisingly, the room was almost empty save for Ava. Anmoch did not expect to be among the first to arrive. Him being present in itself, would have been unexpected, if not for the fact he had been deceased for thousands of years. Every day was the same, and these minor deviations, while he did not always enjoy them, was a much needed change.

Timothy hated ghosts. There were a lot of things that the Hufflepuff did not like, but there was only one thing that he absolutely hated. Ghosts were the most vile creatures, and they should have been okay with dying. If it was your time to go, why wouldn't you? It baffled Timmy. He stood at the entrance of the Abandoned Classroom for several minutes. He just knew that he would not be able to enter without being pranked. Timmy was not known for being courageous, as that was the job of those who were in Gryffindor. He took a step into the classroom and was instantly covered with gooey, disgusting slime. His intuition had been right, but he knew how to clean up such a mess. He pulled out his wand, which he despised because of its ridiculous length and used scourgify. He looked up from his now clean clothes and saw the Dark Rider. Timothy ran over to Professor King and stood behind her. It was impossible to hide because of his height, but King would protect him from the ghosts. He did not think to speak to the woman because his eyes were on the Dark Rider. Slytherin surely had chosen a great ghost to represent them.

The Slytherin girl had many things on her mind as she walked around the corridors of Hogwarts. She was still on her search for the hidden room that Avie had told her about and could not stop thinking about it ever since he mentioned it. Hogwarts was such a magical place and so she had no doubt in her mind about a hidden room being locked away somewhere for no one to find. She was on the second floor today still on her search. She had of course already looked on the second floor before but double checking to see if she had missed anything was definitely worth it. Maybe the hidden room was enchanted to change locations every day and maybe that was why it was so hard to find?

Charlotte stopped abruptly in her search when she saw an older boy standing awkwardly in front of the door to what she knew to be the abandoned classroom. She watched as he stepped inside and walked over to the door too, wondering why he took so long to decide whether or not he wanted to go in. Curiously, Charlotte stepped straight into the room and was engulfed in a large amount of slime. Before she was even able to find out why, she began laughing loudly, probably grabbing the attention of all of the people that were already in the room. Holding her stomach, she leant against the wall, trying to calm herself down. It was definitely the best way that she had entered the room in a long time and made a mental note to tell Maddie all about it when she saw her next.

Once Charlotte was calmed down, she began to take in her surroundings. It seemed like she had just walked in on someone's birthday party. Food was on tables and balloons seemed to be everywhere. The only person in the room that she really knew was the professor, so she walked over to her with a smile on her face, not really caring about the slime all over her. "Hello professor! If you don't mind me asking, what's the occasion?" she asked as she continued to survey the room to find someone else that she knew. No one was around and she began to wonder if she was even allowed in the room at all.

Amy wanted - no needed - to do something fun. Third year classes were getting a lot more work piled up for her and she was just managing to finish them all. Not only that, but her brother was also trying to do anything but study and Amy was having trouble convincing him of the trouble he'd be in for not completing these assignments. Failing the year, for one. Although she had strictly decided Dan should seriously get to completing those assignments, she wanted him with her today. Besides, all that homework was bound to make both Rosemary twins insane at some point.

That was why they found themselves exploring the castle once more, just like they used to on any normal, relaxing day and Amy had caught something in the corner of her eye so she nudged her brother excitedly and dragged him to an abandoned classroom, a little suspicious of what could be going on in there, and they found out it was where a party seemed to be going on. There weren't many people there yet when they arrived but at least they weren't the first ones there. Just as she stepped into the party room she felt something drop on her head and closed her mouth in order to prevent herself from eating the slime that was currently sliding on her face. Amy laughed; it was probably all Vex's doing which she was not at all surprised about. She scooped up some slime and spread it over Dan's head, annoying him even further. He was not happy about the little joke. That made it even funnier for the hufflepuff. She heard a rather loud laugh and her face split into a grin, she saw a familiar girl laughing at the harmless prank. Deciding it was an opportunity to make friends, she skipped over to her and smiled at her.
"Hey! I remember you, you take some of my classes," she beamed at the other girl. Amy never missed a chance to make new friends. The more the merrier. "Hi professor," she smiled at the headmistress upon noticing the girl she walked up to hadn't been alone.

The last place James expected to find himself was at a birthday party for a poltergeist but that was were he was heading as he made his way to the abandoned classroom on the second floor. He wasn't a big fan of the ghost but he had become such a part of the school community over the last year that he almost felt obligated to attend the party. James entered the room and looked around at who was there, a few students, the Slytherin house ghost. Even now the ghost gave him the creeps just as he had when he was a student at the school. James walked over to the headmistress as she was the only person there he was either familiar with, or didn't creep him out. "Hello Ava," he greeted the woman warmly.

'Vex' and 'party' were not two words anybody sensible would place in the same sentence - which was probably why Ava had. The Potions Professor chuckled to himself as he read the invite. Nothing good could possibly have come from his attendance, but he was strangely compelled up to the second floor corridor anyway. As a last minute precaution, he summoned himself an umbrella before stepping through the door.

Splat. Monty's umbrella shuddered under the weight of the slime. Well, he hadn't anticipated on such an early attack - Vex wasn't even there yet! Monty shook off his umbrella and left it propped up by the door, suddenly wishing he hadn't shown at all. Ava was probably going to talk to him, and what would he say? He'd been growing increasingly uncomfortable in her presence of late, and it had nothing to do with dislike. He blushed, keeping along the wall and hoping nobody would approach him. Especially not Ava.

Keeping his gaze firmly on the ground as he traveled, it was a wonder that Evan was attending this event in the first place. It was even more a wonder that the school's headmistress was hosting such an event. She had never done so for any of the other ghosts, all of whom had been there longer than she had. Not that he was going to complain or anything. Evan knew that the woman had bigger things on her plate than celebrating their deathdays. It wouldn't be helpful to complain.

Entering the room, the ghost glanced up just long enough to see the room's decorations. Very Vex, for sure. He made his way to a corner, standing near one of the professors, one of the quieter ones and hoped to not be in the way. If he could, he'd pass around a tray or two, but as he could not, this was the best place for him.

The approaching ghost was more than a welcomed sight. Monty smiled, his hands held nervously in front of him. "Hello, Evan," he said; he'd taken particular care to familiarise himself with the names (or titles) of the Hogwarts ghosts. Nodding towards the busier section of the room, he added, "I had no idea Vex was so popular." Indeed, the poltergeist was generally more of a nuisance than anything else. But Monty had enjoyed watching Professor Tuuri receive a cake to the face, even if he'd simultaneously fallen victim to the same joke.

It was Daisy's favorite poltergeist's first birthday. Vex wasn't shy in letting her know (or probably anyone else that listened), so it wasn't a surprise that there was a party being thrown for him. She could imagine the carnage Vex would cause if nothing was done - he'd definitely find a way to celebrate himself, and Daisy could assume that would mean a purple colored castle, slippery floors and gum in lock holes. The young Gryffindor was excited for what the party would entail, and wasn't disappointed as slime dropped on her head when she entered the room. Daisy let out a laugh, her eyes glancing around the room to see if there was anyone she knew yet, but not even Vex was there. The Second Year recognized a couple of students, and she knew the Professors, even the ghosts, but Daisy went to the food table anyway, grabbing a handful of crisps and popping it in her mouth, waiting for the guest of honor.

The party was filling up fast enough, but before Ava was able to even greet the Slytherin Ghost, a boy Ava knew as Timothy hid behind her with his wand drawn. Ava turned and tried looking the boy in his eyes, talking gently. "It's okay Timothy. You're alright." A voice next to her drew her attention, and she grinned at the girl covered in slime. "It's our resident Poltergeist's first birthday." She answered, "I'm glad to see you dressed appropriately." Ava laughed, motioning towards the goo. Ava then also greeted the new arrival, another young Hufflepuff, and in turn, James, who she was pleased to see had turned up. A couple more arrivals, and Ava looked over, and smiled at Monty, giving him a small wave before turning back to James. "Our guest of honor should be arriving shortly. He thinks he's on a super top secret mission currently." Ava giggled.

Leo had noticed the commotion and wondered what was going on. He was currently on the second floor corridor, hiding from his twin siblings and hoped he would be able to play a prank on them both sooner or later. It was fun and he got a bright idea. If only he could find his Gryffindor housemate... He decided finding out what on earth was happening in the room near him, where there seemed to be more voices every few minutes, he tiptoed to the room seeing it was an abandoned classroom. Leonardo peeked in the room, spotting his friend immediately and grinning mischievously. He wanted to get help, so he walked in the room and - splat - he was covered in slime. Oh well. He shrugged, laughing and continued with his mission. He went behind Daisy and covered her eyes with his hands. "Guess who?" He whispered rather loudly. Now that he noticed what was happening he raised his eyebrows, removing his hands from her face. "What, throwing a party for Vex the Great?" He grinned, grabbing some food for himself and stuffing it in his mouth.

Felix had heard that Vex was having a first birthday party and so he felt obligated to attend. Vex was certainly good for a laugh and so he was definitely prepared to attend a birthday party for him, despite not really understanding why. It was a ghost after all. He sometimes got so confused by wizarding things. As he approached the abandoned classroom he was on the look out for anything that might be pranks and laughed at what he saw inside the classroom. "Charlotte, hey!" he called as he spotted his girlfriends friend.

Vex has been on the super top secret mission of guarding the Astronomy Tower from pesky troublemakers trying to put gum on the telescopes before he could! The audacity of these little critters was beyond the non-being, who had total dibs rights over all the items within the school - especially ones that looked very important, and most certainly did not want gum on them. The poltergeist wandered down the stairs of the tower, a job well down, and buzzed around the school for a bit until it was time to meet up with Kingy once more. He could feel the atmosphere change as he approached the Abandoned classroom - he was always happier here because of the additional chaos created from students trying to be sneaky and not get caught.

Upon entering the room, the poltergeist's eyes widened exceptionally, and he floated around to look at all the things. Exploding balloons, slime everywhere, eggs - the only thing not welcome was Professor Monty Pendleton, but today, Vex would make an exception. He spun around the hostess of the party (for who else would do this?), and gave her a huge grin. "I knew you would get the hints!" Vex cheered, the bucket of slime he had stolen being throw up in the air with his arms causing the mess to go everywhere. Even some of his bestest friends, the House Ghosts were here! They were his favourites to play with - when he could find them. They never seemed to be around when he wanted to play. He knew it was already going to be a great day.
