Professor Misha Haden had been a bit surprised to be asked to help out, he didn't often, but he didn't mind it. Though of course he was feeling a little more tired than usual with the boys keeping him awake. It was nice though, they were adorable. He looked at the two students whose duel he was overseeing. "Let's keep this clean," he said, before inviting them to get started.

OOCOut of Character:
The duel begins now. You have 24 hours from this to post your first reply, or face disqualification. Once both duelists have posted, you will have 24 hours from your opponents post to reply, or be disqualified. Ensure that you use the spell list for guidance on age-appropriate spells, and read over the dueling rules and points system. Please also remember site rules apply, including power/god modding. You can find the site rules here. Duels will run until there is a winner or until 6 IRL days have passed, in which case the winner will be chosen by RNG. If you are knocked out or otherwise disarmed/incapacitated, or if you run out of points, you will lose and the duel will end. Have fun!

Spectators are allowed to post in this topic once per competitors post, but are forbidden from directly interfering with the duels. Duelers cannot cast spells at the spectators or face disqualification.

Teddy was up against Audrey for his first duel and if it was going to be anything like last time, this was going to be worth watching. He nudged Audrey playfully on their way up and quietly said, "Come back for more ey?" He took his position, listened to the professor, bowed and then cast the jelly fingers curse to begin.

Honestly, this was so rude of Savannah. To put her up against Teddy in round one? She thought the older girl was cool, considering they played Quidditch together. Sure, Audrey had hit her with bludgers in practice, but that was part of the game. It's not like she wasn't not going to hit the seeker with bludgers. Loathe as Audrey was to admit it, Teddy had the upper hand on her in duels. She was smarter than him, of course, but he was faster. She bowed back, ignoring his jibe and quickly blocked the first spell. See, he was faster. "Has anyone ever told you you talk too much? Quietus!"

Teddy blocked the Quietus spell, his eyes lighting up with the thrill of the banter that came with it. "Nope, never. You must be mixing me up with someone else, or you soon will. Confundo!" He sent the Confundus Charm Audrey's way next.

Audrey's lips quirked into a smile, but she wasn't exactly wanting to get too distracted. She blocked the spell, absolutely refusing to let herself be confused and unable to do her spells properly. "Think nooooot," she shot back, bouncing up and down a little. "But I know how you cooooould make me laugh, Densaugeo!"

Teddy chucked at her comment that came with the spell that he only just managed to block in time. "Oh yeah? How’s that then?" He was grinning until he looked at Audrey, his features then distorting to that of mild disgust. "Oh, er, Audrey, has anyone told you that you’ve got a little something right there—" He pointed at his own nostril, eyes wide as if something disgusting was hanging from her face. With his other hand, he fired off a Bat Bogey Hex at her. "No need to thank me!" he laughed.

Audrey, in theory, knew better than to be so gullible. However, in practice, things were different. "What?" she questioned, bringing her right hand to her face...and then stumbled backwards, throwing that hand behind her so fast it slapped the ground with a loud painful sound. Audrey winced, but she was still on her feet - sort of - and holding her wand in hand. She looked like she might start breakdancing at any second, honestly. "Idiot!" she groaned, partially at Teddy but mostly at herself. "Ooh, you make my blood boil sometimes. Furnunculus!" Now she was just being petty.

Teddy snorted, barely holding back his laughter as Audrey slapped the ground, giving off olympic standard breakdancing vibes in the process. He was a little disappointed that she had managed to dodge, but it had been a good dodge. "Got moves, I’ll give you that!” he teased, blocking her spell just in time because she was mad enough that it probably would’ve been double the amount of boils as expected. “I think I might be putting you off. Better sort it so you can't hear me anymore, Muffliato He sent next.

Audrey groaned as she tried to get back up on her feet properly, which she probably should have done before angrily firing a spell at Teddy. He hit her back, and she was in the middle of trying to move so not only could she not block the spell, the change in her hearing leaving an irritating buzzing sound meant she was completely thrown off balance, wobbling and landing right on her tailbone. Pain shot through her body and she dropped her wand in shock. Audrey bit her lip, scrunching up her face to stop herself yelling out, and then just kind of lay on the ground in disappointment, thankful that at least with the annoying buzzing she couldn't hear if anyone was laughing at her. This was so unfair. Why couldn't they have another competition to show off skills? She was so much better than this. Between this and Quidditch she just knew her parents were going to be fuming with her for being a failure.

Misha watched the duel for any foul play but it was over pretty quickly it seemed. "Teddy Pirrip wins," he said before quickly removing the spell from the girl and going to make sure she was okay.
