Amy was looking forward to another year of Quidditch, and while it was sad to see Elliot go, she was pleased that Connor had accepted the position as co-captain. As she got the pitch set up for try-outs, she kept an eye out for people who were coming down. Waiting for Connor to arrive before she started, she gathered everyone up before she began to speak."Hi everyone, welcome to the Hufflepuff Quidditch try-outs. I'm Amy Jewel, and I'm co-captaining this year with Connor Holland." She motioned to Connor."If you're here to try out, please step forward and say your name and the position you're trying out for. I'll get the returning players to get some practice in and help out if it's needed. Good luck everyone!" She turned to see if Connor wanted to add anything before blowing the whistle to start.

OOCOut of Character:

Returning players are guaranteed their spots as long as they post attendance before try-outs close. Returning alternates, please try out again.

First years, please PM me or Rowan (Connor Holland) before posting. First years will only be approved to try-out if there are not enough older students to join the team.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to me or Rowan. Good luck!

As hard as he had worked for this, part of Connor couldn't believe he was actually standing here. He had looked up to Elliot and Amy the entire time he had been on the Quidditch team, and now here he was, taking Elliot's vacated spot as Hufflepuff's new co-captain. He felt honoured and overwhelmed all at once, desperately hoping that he would be up to the challenge.

It felt strange standing next to Amy at the start of the tryouts, looking out on both returning and hopeful teammates. Part of Connor felt like he should still be standing with them, even as Amy was introducing him as her new co-captain. He grinned, giving the team a cheerful wave, and hoped they couldn't see how nervous he was. It was a relief that Amy was taking the reigns, giving him some time to get used to this feeling. "You've got this guys, just show us your best and have fun!" He added once Amy was done speaking, hoping he didn't sound too cheesy. As the players began to take to the sky he watched, keeping an eye on those trying out for the first time, trying to see who would be well suited to join the team.

Elizabella was a little bored and she walked here and why not try? If she don't try something new that her life will be boring. '' Hi, can i join?I don't have lot of expierence but i can try, right?'' She asked older boy.

@Connor Holland

Connor was a bit surprised when after Amy's speech one of the gathered group approached him, giving the girl an uncertain look. "Anyone can try out, if they like. Like Amy said, you need to tell us your name, and what position you're trying out for, and then show us your skills." He tried to be cheerful, but was a bit unsure at having to repeat the instructions.
@Elizabella Drake

She listened what he says and she started think what position she wanted be. "My name is Elizabella Drake and i'm second year from Hufflepuff house. I wanna try be Chaser". She smiled. Elizabella was so easy fly and she alredy fly others and fast. She needed some practice and show others, that she can do that.

Perhaps the idea was little more than a pipe dream following school holidays trapped in muggle suburbia, unable to practice, but Bobbi quite liked the idea of becoming Hufflepuffs new Seeker. She turned up thoroughly unprepared for tryouts, her new broom in hand that she had limited experience handling. "Bobbi Bacuzzi, trying out for Seeker!" She was nervous and not confident but nonetheless slid the broom between her legs and kicked off the ground.

It all happened so fast and she had not prepared herself for the sudden force of the new broom. Zero to what felt like a hundred miles an hour in seconds. Bobbi clung to her broom for dear life as it took off full speed ahead. "STOP BROOM! STOP!" She shrieked. And then the broom stopped. One hundred to zero in a second. The broom flipped forward, unseating Bobbi whose stubborn grip was the only thing that stopped her from plummeting to the ground below.

She hung from the broom, internally berating herself for trying out for the team in the first place and telling herself that she was totally useless, when a small golden object fluttered casually passed her ear. She gasped, "The Snitch!" What happened next was not Bobbi, something took over and all her anxieties disappeared in the moment. She managed pull herself up and clamber back onto the broomstick. She went in chase of the golden snitch, extending one arm as the other kept a grip on her broom. She was so close, inches away, then her fingers closed in and she brought her hand in close to her chest, careful not to drop the object locked inside. She'd done it and no one was more surprised than Bobbi! She returned to the ground to show off her catch. "One snitch. Hope you liked the stunt, er, totally intentional. I call it the Bacuzzi." She said proudly, riding high on adrenaline which was highly unusual for the usually moody Hufflepuff.

René tried not to fidget as he joined the team for try-outs again. He'd done this once before last year and it had been pretty nerve wracking, even despite him having asked Sully a million questions about what to do. But this year he'd be doing something completely different, trying for a completely different position, and René just hoped it wasn't a huge mistake. He'd talked to Tilly about it, but he still had his doubts. He may have not felt like the best chaser, but at least he had played the position and even scored in a game. Beater was a complete unknown, not to mention Connor was one of the captains now, and he'd know if René was messing up.

Taking a breath to psych himself up, René stepped forward as tryouts began, clearing his throat as he addressed the captains. "René Tofilau, I'm trying out for beater this year," he said, trying to focus on kicking off into the air and not on the captains' reactions. He took a few laps just making sure he had his balance, one hand now occupied by the beater's bat which still felt a little strange. He took a swing at a passing bludger, wincing as he missed and wobbled awkwardly on his broom. His next few attempts were much the same and René embarrassment was fading away to frustration as he shot after one of the bludgers. They weren't as scary when he had a bat in his hand. Finally, René landed a solid hit, feeling it reverberate all down his arm and watching with a mad grin as the bludger shot in a straight line across the pitch. He hadn't managed to hit anything with it, but he'd hit the bludger! Looping around the pitch, René landed a few more hits, still caught off guard by the bludgers' strength when they collided with his bat. His next hit, René nearly dropped off his broom when he turned to see the bludger collide with another beater. He had been trying to hit them, but it still caught him by surprise. Maybe he could get the hang of it after all. René only managed a scant few hits that actually went somewhere before tryouts ended and his arms and shoulders ached like nothing he'd felt chasing, but he hoped it was enough promise to land him another spot on the team.

While Lucas felt like he had been a part of the team, he knew he still had to try out for the seeker position. Elliot had left him big shoes to fill, and Lucas worried if he could do a good enough job. He felt a bit more confident with his boyfriend as co-captain, but also knew that it would be a mistake to think it would guarantee anything. Lucas waited his turn, then spoke. "I'm Lucas Fletcher, trying out for seeker." He said with a nervous smile. Then he took to the air. He flew around, looking for the snitch. He was delighted to spot it after a short while and he raced after it. He grabbed the snitch and held it up in the air before letting it go. Lucas was pleased he had managed a catch relatively quickly, and could only hope it would secure him a permanent spot on the team.

Blair was slightly getting used to flying on a broom and lately had been feeling pretty comfortable on it, so she decide to finally go back to what she has enjoyed a lot in the previous school. She wasn't sure she was going to make it but she knew that she could fail only if she tried. "Blair Silver, chaser," she was sure she sounded pretty confident, or at least she tried to. After that, she hit the air and followed co-captain's advice and just had fun, when else she could have so much fun with Quidditch? So she fastly winked at the closest person and grabbed the quaffle, ambitiously flying to the hoops. In the end, she proudly smiled when the training was over, of course, she had several goals, some missed ones that she didn't exactly worry about, but several that made it through and left her insanely proud about how good she was. Why would she need to pay attention to something she did badly if there was a bit more what she did way better?

Jordan felt less sure every year he was here. But he was determined to try anyway. He lined up on the pitch with the others, hoping his previous experience might get him on the team again. Though, as he saw how the others on the pitch were all trying for the chaser and seeker positions, he couldn't help but be nervous. "Jordan Harris. Jordie. I'm trying for chaser again this year," he announced, smiling at the others before taking off into the air. He hoped he had an edge, having played with the team before. His broom control and speeds were better than last year, and he made six out of the seven shots he threw. Though he had to worry Linden was going easy on them. He barely felt better as he hit the ground. Had he really done alright?

lin made his way to the quidditch pitch. he wasn't sure how he had been on the team for two years. but he was enjoying it. he smiled when he saw that Connor had taken over the role of co-captain. he listened as they were introduced to the tryouts. as he was already on the team he didn't need to try out. but the only reason he was on the team was that there were no other keepers. instead, he went over to @Lucas Fletcher, "G'luck mate." he said before mounting his broom and taking off. he knew that the seeker position was open after Elliot had left and Lucas was the previous alternative so his chances were good. but he still wanted him on the team.
he flew up and took to the goals watching as players tried out guarding the hoops but letting some of the balls go through as well. they needed chasers who could score and who had some confidence. he cheered for those trying out. when someone caught the snitch or made a particularly good hit or a good shot.
once the try outs were over he landed and high five those who had tied out offering people a well you or a "go you and when he saw jordie he ruffed his hair the same way willow would have done to him. "good work jordie, was that six goals I counted?" he congratulated @Jordan Harris. there wasn't a chaser spot open but he hoped he would keep playing. he would make a great chaser next year once may left. or maybe even this year if one of the current girls left the team, after all the keeper position hadn't been open when he had tried out but he had still got it.

Hunter made his way to the quidditch pitch to watch the new people trying out, now that Elliot was gone the seeker spot was open so he wonder who was gonna kill who to have that spot, probably Lucas would get it since he had been an alternate since Hunter remembered, he was honestly hoping he did. Hunter was happily surprised that Connor was now a captain too, he seemed nice even though they hadn't really talked much. Eventually the try outs started and Hunter bolted upwards in his broom in case anyone needed some help.

Tilly was not feeling as refreshed as she'd expected to after the break, but it didn't mean she wasn't going to give this season her all. She waved at Amy and Connor as she stepped onto the pitch with bat in hand. She mounted her broom, knocking a bludger towards @Rene Tofilau. He'd expressed interest in changing positions as an alternate, so he was her perfect first target. Tilly tried to be mindful of the other students trying out for the first time.

Attention Hufflepuffs!

Tryouts will be closing in roughly 24 hours, now's your last chance to try out for the team!

That's a wrap on tryouts, thank you to everyone who tried out! If you weren't chosen please consider trying out next year :)
