Y39 Dueling Match #28

@Ivy Ashworth vs. @Flynn North

Lena knew that most of the duels were finished and was rather enjoying the outcome of new and old victors coming together to celebrate. However, the fourth years still had a few more rounds, and Professor Williams gladly took to the stage to proctor. "Dearies, you so close! Remember to follow the rules, make it a clean duel, and I wish you the best," she said, before taking a step off to watch the Gryffindors duel.

The duel begins now. You have 24 hours from this to post your first reply, or face disqualification. Once both duelists have posted, you will have 24 hours from your opponents post to reply, or be disqualified. Ensure that you use the spell list for guidance on age-appropriate spells, and read over the dueling rules and points system. Duels will run until there is a winner or until 6 IRL days have passed, in which case the winner will be chosen by RNG. If you are knocked out or otherwise disarmed/incapacitated, or if you run out of points, you will lose and the duel will end. Have fun!

As an added note: Spectators are allowed to post in this topic once per competitors post, but are forbidden from directly interfering with the duels.

Flynn had been rather lucky to get a free pass into this round and he certainly wasn't going to be complaining about it. He was just that bit closer now to retain his title of champion and Ivy was the one standing in his way. He certainly wasn't going to go easy on her. "Prepared to be beaten?" He grinned across the platform at the girl before leaning forward into a small bow. But he quickly straightened up once the duel started whipping his wand towards the other Gryffindor, "Confundo!"

Ivy had never gone against Flynn in a duel before, but she knew he had won for their year. Still, she wasn't going to go down easily. "In your dreams." She said with a grin, before casting a shield charm that blocked his spell. She then cast a spell of her own. Shooting a jelly-finger jinx his way.

He was ready for the counter-attack from Ivy, throwing up a shield to protect himself from her first jinx. Having jelly for fingers would be no good if he couldn't even hold his wand to duel. But with that in mind, he quickly dropped his shield before firing back with a solid Expelliarmus.

Ivy tried to put all her focus on the duel, she couldn't afford to get distracted now. She blocked Flynn's disarming charm and countered with a new spell. "Impedimentia!"

Ivy put up a shield charm to block Flynn's next spell. She grinned at him, it looked a bit like he was getting frustrated. Ivy cast a Leek jinx back at him.

[Tilly Drage]

Tilly could have walked away from the Duelling Tournament a sore loser, but a duel was a duel. You won some, and then you lost some. Flynn seemed to be winning more than others given he was defending last year’s title all the way to the end. Tilly wanted to see the outcome of this last match for their year. She wasn’t sure if she wanted to cheer for Ivy or Flynn. Instead, she just sat back and watched them throw spells back and forth. So far, neither of them had landed a hit.

He thought he would try and dodge the next spell sent his way to save on stamina, but he stumbled as he did so and failed to get out of the way in time. Next thing he knew there were leeks growing out of his ears. And he was not impressed at all, scowling darkly across the platform at Ivy. "Oh, so that's how you want to play it, huh? Okay then." He said (though for all he knew he could be shouting) before raising his wand and sending back his favourite Slug Vomited hex.

Ivy couldn't help laughing at the leeks that came out of Flynn's ears. It looked pretty silly, and also made her feel like she was getting the upper hand in the duel. She blocked Flynn's next spell and tried a jelly fingers curse.

He scowled when his next spell was blocked. No doubt he looked like an idiot right then with leeks sticking out of his ears. It was also making hearing quite hard, but that was something he could live with, watching for when Ivy next raised her wand so he was ready, blocking her next spell and firing back with a Jelly Legs Jinx.
