With all the bludgers and goals and snitch catching, Aramis was really starting to get tired, glad he had some time to catch his breath before the chasers came back his way.
Gemma was ready to take the rest of practice play it safe and watch out for the seekers but when she spotted another bludger coming right at her she swung and aimed for Hugo. Part of her hoped she missed and she was almost pleased when it went off course and hit Elise instead. @Élise Moreau
Hugo was starting to hope the practice would be over soon so he could be miserable elsewhere when he spotted a glint of gold. He gasped and rushed forward, reaching over to grab it before having a moment to think about it. He grinned as he realized he'd actually gotten the snitch, and he held it up in triumph before letting it go. It would have been a lot better if Amelie wasn't like five catches ahead of him, though.
Amelie glanced over when she saw Hugo rushing for something, smiling brightly when he caught the snitch. She grinned, giving him a thumbs up and straightening her hair. She gave the snitch a moment to fly off before resuming her search.
Aramis gave a cheer when he realized Hugo had managed to catch the snitch again. "I hope you two can do it this easily during our games," he said wanly.
Amelie caught sight of the snitch, chasing after it. She came up on it quickly, wrapping her fingers around the little ball. Giggling, she held it up for @Édelie de la Mora before releasing it. "You know we will," she called to Aramis, winking playfully before taking off again.
Amelie waited several moments, watching the chasers before turning her eyes back up to the sky. Her eyes widened as she spotted the snitch again, chasing after it. It took several moments, several twists and turns, before she came up again, holding the snitch up in her hand. "Does that count, Captain?" she asked with a soft giggle, letting the snitch go again.
Hugo couldn't believe his eyes. Amelie caught the snitch twice in a row, a if she was showing off right after he'd managed his second time. He gestured indignantly and tried to catch his captain's eye. "She's cheating somehow, she has to be!" He said loudly.
Amelie paused, her heart dropping as Hugo yelled. "What? I- no," she managed softly. She wasn't.... She wasn't cheating. She just... She just wanted to play. Her shoulders slumped.
Hugo knew deep down Amelie wasn't cheating, mostly because he didn't know how she possibly could. But it still felt incredibly unfair. "Whatever." He muttered, flying away angrily.
Aramis was shocked to see Amelie catch the snitch twice in a row again. It was amazing, but he frowned when it seemed to be bothering Hugo more than impressing him. This was probably something for the captain to resolve, and at least Hugo seemed to have dropped it for now so Aramis drifted quietly as the seekers flew off.
Amelie s heart sunk as Hugo flew off, and she could feel tears welling up in her eyes. She hadn't... Meant to upset him, she just... She had just wanted to play Quidditch, make friends. She flew away, all her spirit gone.
Édelie felt like she had missed what was happening and figured the bickering between the two seekers was not good for team morale. "We should all speak kindly to each other," she called towards one of the seekers. "Alright team, I think we've made good progress today. Let's end for now. Make sure you're well rested for the upcoming game!"
