Y37 Ilvermorny Quidditch Practice S2

Feeling like he was getting back into the literal swing of things, AJ took another swing at the bludger he'd hit towards Eli as it swerved back his way, knocking it aside uselessly but still feeling good.

Lucas smiled softly as Hyun made a goal, wincing when the boy was hit. He grabbed the quaffle as it was thrown back into play, starting to loop the court himself.

It was a little sad to think AJ would only get one more year of school and being on the team before he was done with school, though he supposed maybe that would be a relief. He had no idea if he wanted to keep playing after school was over or not, especially not wit the way things tended go on their team. Zoning out, AJ flinched back to reality when a bludger shot past him, flailing for his bat to go after it.

Hope flew away as they started reaching the sky. And started her search. Hopefully she could do something today.

Eli aimed his next bludger at AJ in retaliation, but it went off course and hit Lucas instead. He hoped the kid wouldn't cry, but didn't stick around to find out.

@Lucas Ames

Lucas had just come around and had raised his arm to throw the quaffle, when a bludger slammed into his side with a crack. He cried out, spinning a bit and accidentally dropping the quaffle. He doubled over, clutching his sides and trying to catch his breath.

Zeke kept flying around, watching the others. He flew up next to Zeke, smiling and looking to see a bludger. Eli and An were doing pretty well.

AJ flinched again, bracing himself when Eli sent a bludger his way. He winced in sympathy when it slammed into Lucas instead. Poor kid didn't seem to take hits too well and AJ felt extra bad when he dropped the quaffle.

Adam x1
AJ x1
Eli x1
Hyun x1
Lucas x1

Spotting Hope, AJ moved to follow her, deciding to try to keep some bludgers away from their seeker for a bit.

Hope moved on trying to look out for bludgers. And noticing AJ close.

Lucas was gasping for breath, but he was stubborn. He shot after the quaffle, catching it again and restarting his loop so he could catch his breath before throwing again.

Eli wanted to try hitting Hope now that AJ was protecting her, but the first bludger he hit shot past her instead.

Dominic shouted a congratulations as Hyun made a goal and what felt like a moment later, winced as a bludger hit Lucas. "Good catch!" he called out to the younger boy when he seemed to recover enough to dive for the quaffle and catch it. He was glad the beaters were doing well even if he felt bad every time someone got hit.

AJ saw Eli hit a bludger there way, relieved that it went off course when he was a little slow getting around Hope to try and block it. He really had to be faster if he wanted to play decent defense.

Lucas tried. He did. He made it back around and threw the ball as hard as he could. His shoulders dropped when Adam caught it. This just wasn't his day, was it? He sighed, moving away to let someone else have a shot at it.

It was hard to stick close to Hope without crowding her, but AJ supposed now was the best time to practice. Eyes on a bludger, AJ had to apologize when he nearly cut Hope off in an attempt to knock the bludger away, especially since he didn't think it was even going to hit her.

It was hard to focus with Hope in his peripheral vision the whole time, but AJ still wanted to stick to trying to protect her. He was certain with a little practice he could figure out a rhythm, but for now he mostly just tried to keep up with her and out of her way.

Dominic grabbed the quaffle as it was tossed back into play but quickly started looking for which of the chasers he could pass it to. He was going to be sad to leave them but he was thankful that Hyun joined this year and hoped they'd make a good trio once he was gone.

((Don't hesitate to steal!))

Hanging back, AJ paused for a moment, trying to get a read on where the bludgers were on the pitch before resuming tailing after Hope.

Adam was irked that Hyun had managed to get a lucky shot in, but his smirk returned when Lucas flailed about the pitch and failed his shot. He tossed the quaffle back into play, and kept his eyes on Dominic as he sped away.

Einar was flying mostly beside Lucas, there to give him a hand if he needed it. He gave him a sympathetic expression as the bludger hit him and then again when he failed to score, but Einar just followed in behind Dominic who had the ball.

After the last game Hope had been down more than ever. She wasn't really happy with herself and had less energy than before. But she flew along, trying to find that snitch. But even if she catched it this practice it had no use, they had lost again because of her.

Adam hovered between the hoops, attempting to guess which one the chasers might favour.

Hyun was feeling a little better now he had managed to score, even if his shoulder was feeling sore from the last bludger hit. But he stuck close to the other chasers, staying open for a pass i case one came his way.

Staying alert, AJ wondered if he was imagining that Hope seemed kind of down today. Maybe she was just sad about how their season had ended, he wouldn't blame her. Distracted again, AJ nearly missed the nearby bludger as it shot past, knocking it with the end of his bat and watching it wobble away.
