Y36 Beauxbatons Quidditch Practice S1

They hadn't had a snitch catch yet, but it was still early in the practice and Orélie was pleased with how well the team seemed to be working together. She didn't want to get too ahead of herself yet, but she had a good feeling about this year. Smiling to herself, Orélie kept close to Nadine as she flew across the pitch.

Jacob still flew closely to the seeker he was protecting, not letting her out of his side. It seemed pretty safe and thus he just shadowed her keeping an eye out for bludgers.

As Nadine approached the hoops, Orélie repositioned, flying to where she had a good view of both of her teammates. "Heads up, Bibi," She called, hoping Nadine didn't mind. Bijoux seemed like she could use the morale boost of saving a goal right now.

Mualla continued to follow the other Seeker, wondering when a Jacob would give her something to do.

Jacob grinned and spotted a bludger he gave it a wack, but it went off. Too bad, he would have loved to give the other beater something to do.

Bijoux kept her position in front of the hoops, trying to stay focused on defending. It was a relief when she finally managed to block a shot, though she was a little embarrassed when Orélie cheered for her. Was it that obvious that she was down? She braced herself as Orélie approached again, trying not to let the warning put her off. This was embarrassing.

Nadine could tell something was up with Bijoux, but she tried to focus on the game for now. Unfortunately, Bijoux managed to block her shot. Nadine scowled, but then sighed. "Good save." She muttered before flying off.

Orélie gave Bijoux a bright smile as she blocked Nadine's goal. Nadine was a tough girl, she could handle a miss every now and then. Scooping up the quaffle, Orélie swooped back across the pitch to take a lap before lining up another shot.

There was another bludger smacked in her direction again and Sophia again dogged it flying sideways. The brunette recovered, giving her friend a playful glare. Sophia resumes the search for the snitch.

I am so sorry!!!!

Atala was so excited to be on the Quidditch team that immediately after tryouts the thirteen year old had written the longest letter of her life! All of one paragraph on her excitement. She wasn't a writer, okay? She flew around the pitch looking for the bludgers, she had to keep everyone on their toes! She could do that! She found a bludger and smacked it in the direction of one of the other players, but missed widely. "Oh! Sorry!" She was apologising for missing, but she didn't want to hit them either! "If I hit it at you, please don't get hurt!" She called to them, hoping they wouldn't run into one of her bludgers.

Sophia hears another crack of the bat, again she ducks and dodges from getting hit. "Okay, forgive me for everything I ever said during a game! It's crazy out here!" The sixth year cries out, though, she didn't mind the adrenaline rush. She kept up her search while keeping her guards up.

As prepared as she was, even Bijoux was surprised she managed to block Nadine's shock. Nadine was an unquestionable powerhouse, and she didn't think she had ever blocked one of her shots in practice before. Bijoux threw the ball back out and re-centered herself to block the hoops.

Mualla thoroughly enjoyed being back in the air again after a summer of not being allowed on a broomstick, and was glad to see that she hadn't forgotten how to play yet. Deciding that it was probably better to aim for someone else now instead, because she didn't want to injure Sophia, Mualla redirected her next bludger towards @Nadine De Rosier instead.

Checking the pitch, Orélie smiled as the beaters and seekers called back and forth, glad to hear the team chatting more during practice. As she approached the hoops, she faltered when she heard a bludger hit behind her, turning to see Nadine take a hit and wincing in sympathy. Turning to take her shot, Orélie had lost a lot of momentum and was unsurprised with Bijoux was able to easily block it.

Atala noticed another bludger near her and shot it towards one of the Captains @Orélie Manuel wincing as it his her. “Oh! Captain! I’m so sorry I didn’t mean to hit you!” she called waving at the older girl so she knew she didn’t mean it.

Orélie was busy keeping track of where the quaffle was going to be thrown in, so she didn't brace for the bludger hit at all. She let out a string of cursed, both in English and French as the bludger hit her, struggling to keep gripping her broom from the pain. "Okay, new plan. No more hitting your captains," She called, spending a moment to squeeze her eyes shut to will down the pain from after she had just started to recover from the first hit earlier. "Hitting bludgers is great, Atala, let's try aiming them next," She offered weakly to their new beater.

Atala nodded to Orelie and grinned lightly. she would work on her aim, she could absolutely do that. She looked for another bludger and found one hovering near her, she was glad it hadn’t decided to hit her head because she had not been expecting it to show up behind her. She aimed it at Sophia, but it went in the complete other direction. Yep, aiming was definitely something she would have to work on.

Mualla nodded at Orélie's words, thinking it was only fair to target someone else next. ''If we keep this up, we might not get beaten up next time we are playing against Hogwarts,'' she called out herself before guarding the alternate Seeker from another bludger. She had aimed it at Simone next but saw that it went off course and towards @Jacob Finley instead. ''Head's up!'' she called to the other Beater.

Jacob saw the bludger coming towards his face and he gave it a good wack. The wack was so on point that it shot straight back to @Mualla Avar. ''Back at ya!'' He yelled and hoped the other beater could get it easily.

Atala could see the back and forth between her teammates and grinned as she watched, thinking she could learn some tips from Mualla. she knew that Jacob was new on the team like she was but she didn’t know if he’d played at his old school. she was content to watch them for now and see what she could learn.

Mualla grinned when Jacob send the bludger right back to her and braced herself, giving it a good whack with her bat to send it back to him again. Instead, it went off course towards the younger Beater. ''Alright, you hit it next!'' she shouted after it, hoping Atala would not get hit with it herself.

@Atala Lesley

Still recovering from the hit, Orélie watched in vague amusement as their beater team seemed to shift to playing tennis with a bludger now. At least they were practicing on their aim and Orélie had to agree with Mualla. If they kept this up then Ilvermorny and the other schools didn't stand a chance this year.

Atala was excited when the older beaters let her in on the action a bit, but as she saw the bludger coming towards her, and she had every intention of hitting it right back, her eyes widened in shock as she miscalculated the distance (she never had been good at math) and the bludger ended up catching her right in the left shoulder. “Nooooooo!” she cried, suddenly aware of why Orelie had been adamant she worked on her aim. This hurt more than that time she fell off Greg and landed head first on the steps.

Tearing her eyes away from the beaters after a grimace of sympathy for Atala, Orélie scooped up the quaffle, keeping her eyes open for a chance to pass to Simone or Nadine.

Nadine yelled out in pain when she was hit by a bludger, and winced as Orélie was hit as well. She was used to it by now, but it still hurt. She enjoyed seeing the beaters hit a few bludgers back and forth, at least. Then she flew close to Orélie to see if she could help her out.
