With Alana having left school, it left Charlotte alone to captain the Slytherin Quidditch Team and the sixth year couldn't be more excited. She had enjoyed being the co-captain last year, was able to get a good idea on what being a captain was all about, and was more than ready to take this on her own. The prefect put her hair up out of her face in a high pony and stood on the pitch with her broom held in her hand, the quidditch equipment out in front of her. As everyone started to arrive, including some new faces, Charlotte smiled brightly at them all. She wanted the team to do well this year and so finding new players was going to be tricky, but she knew she would find the perfect people to join and was not worried about that at all.

Once the large group of people were finally there, Charlotte beamed. "Hello!" she exclaimed loudly, getting the attention of everyone. When she was sure things were settled, she continued. "I'm Charlotte, the Slytherin team captain, and I'm looking forward to inviting some new members to the team!" The girl was clearly excited. "If you're looking to be one of the new members, simply give me your name and the position you wish to try out for. If you want to try out for more than one, don't be afraid to do that. Current members will be able to help you or get some practice in themselves." Charlotte smiled around at them all. "So, let's begin!" With that, Charlotte watched as everyone began to line up to put their name down, more than ready to get this underway.

OOCOut of Character:
Players from the previous year are guaranteed their spot without needing to try out again - as long as attendance is posted before try-outs are over. Alternates, however, will need to try out again.

First years are required to PM me for approval before attempting to try out.

Odette knew she was still technically an alternate on the team, but because she had played two games last year (one as chaser and one in her preferred position as beater), she really hoped she had proven herself enough to get a spot. Now that Ezra had transferred, there was a free spot as a beater and she really wanted it.

So she was early, it was a shame that Alana had graduated as Odette had started to look up to the older girl, especially since she had done a private practice with Odette to prepare her for her first game as beater. Charlotte was a good player too, however, and Odette respected her. She waited until the captain addressed them, listening to her speech before stepping forward. "Odette Harper, trying out for Beater." She said clearly. She got onto her broom, her beater's bat clutched in her fist as she took to the air. She scanned the skies for some bludgers and spotted one from the corner of her eye. She made a turn and went after it, flying a little lower so she could see it clearly and hit it from below. The bat made impact and she grinned, though she hadn't managed to hit it as far away as she wanted, her muscles not yet as strong as she wanted them to be. But she sped after the next bludger, determined to show the captain what she was made of. She managed her second hit soon after, hitting the bludger away from a chaser and in a completely different direction. She managed to hit a bludger twice more, once nearly hitting another player. She turned to one nearby for a final swing, but in her enthusiasm missed it when she swung her bat at it. She grimaced, hoping that last failure wouldn't bench her for another year. She landed and nodded to Charlotte in thanks, before settling down to watch the others try out.

Asaiah smiled when he saw his name on the team sheet and nodded thankfully at Charlotte for not having him try out for his position again. Because he wasn't allowed to go outside last semester, and therefore hadn't been able to practice much, the Slytherin Beater decided that instead of watching the new players try out, he would practice his aiming. So, mounted his Sienna Storm and pushed himself off the ground into the air.

After practicing with the Ravenclaw girl Hayden's mind was made up on what position he would try out for, it was now time for the moment of truth. Hayden had seen Odette at breakfast but said goodbye to her as he wanted to be alone so he could mentally prepare for his tryout. Once he was ready, Hayden grabbed his broom and made his way down to the Quidditch pitch. He smiled at Odette, who would also be trying out again as she had been an alternate the previous season, but with a spot for her position open Hayden was confident she would get it, and he was fairly confident he would get the position he wanted too.

"Hayden Lavish, trying out for keeper," He said before climbing onto his broom and taking off to position himself in front of the hoops. One by one hopeful chasers stepped up to take their shots at him, none of them had ever made an impression on him so he had no idea who any of them were. Hayden easily saved the first shot, the poor kid didn't even appear to try and make him move as he sent a shot straight down the middle. The second was a little more challenging at least and required him to move, but not much as he easily collecting the quaffle that had been heading toward the left hoop though Hayden doubted it would have made it as there was no power behind the throw. Three and four required an actual dive, and with a lesser keeper may have actually have gone in. The final shot was embarrassing for Hayden, the chaser successfully fooled him into diving to the left while sending the quaffle to the right hoop. Whoever that kid was, they were gonna make the team for sure.

Once he was done Hayden made his way to the ground, nodded at the captain and winked at Odette who was preparing to go up for her tryout. Hayden felt good.

Rory arrived at the quidditch pitch, standing proudly. This would be another year on the team and he had full confidence in himself to do well on the team. He knew this time around he could do better, he would be better. The teen looked towards the captain and shot a rare smile at the girl. he knew this girl like most others probably didn't understand him but he didn't care quidditch was quidditch. The slytherin looked up at the sky as the girl spoke, but he just jumped on his broom and headed up into the sky. This would be a good day.

Stella had heard a lot about Quidditch from her brother and honestly thought the entire thing sounded so cool. As a first year she had been too young to try out for the team which was fine by her because she was still getting acquainted with the novelty of magic and the school. But now that she'd had flying lessons and a year at Hogwarts under her belt, she felt ready to tryout for her house's team. She had begged Wyatt to teach her the ropes of the game and each position so she could figure out which she liked best. She felt a little biased because her big brother played it, but she liked the Beater position best which is what she'd be trying out for today. She listened to the captain speak and nodded her head in understanding, standing up when it was her turn. "Stella Finch trying out for Beater," she said with a bright smile. She knew that her brother's best friend played one of the beaters on the team and the other girl that had just tried out had been an alternate on the team before, which gave her an advantage. But Stella would be even happy to be given the alternate position because they sometimes got to play as well. Maybe her brother and his idiot friends would get in trouble again and be benched for the season again and she'd get her chance to play - not that she'd ever say that out loud.

With her brother's borrowed bat in hand, Stella mounted the broom (also Wyatt's, but he wouldn't need it during her house's tryouts) and kicked off into the air, adjusting her balance as she leveled out the broom to the height she wanted to hover at. Stella did a lap around the pitch at first as she waited for the bludgers to be released. Once she caught sight of one, she flew after it at full speed and swung so she could hit it away. She felt the bat connect and smiled when it was ricocheted away across the pitch. The second bludger wasted no time in trying to go after her, so Stella ducked and dipped her broom lower to avoid it on instinct. Belatedly she realized she should've tried to swing at it instead of ducking, but the bludger had flown off for her to do anything to it. She circled the pitch once more to change her position, not wanting to stay in one place for too long to make her an easy target. She chased after one of the black balls and used her bat to backhand it away, feeling that rush of satisfaction when she heard the loud crack of the bat against the ball. When she saw another one flying ahead of her, she rushed forward to catch up to it, but halfway through it noticed her following it, so it changed directions and suddenly targeted her instead. The change of pace was too quick for Stella and when she tried to bat it away, she missed and felt it ungraciously graze over her shoulder. The pain was dull and not too bad so she gritted her teeth and kept her eyes out for the other bludger, not wanting to be surprised with another hit. She had only been flying a little while longer when she saw one of the balls incoming fast from the corner of her eye. This time she would not duck and instead Stella tried to swat it away with the bat. The tip of it just managed to collide with the ball; it wasn't much force to send it sailing across the sky but it had been enough to stop her from getting hit and letting her get away. When she was done, she flew back down to the ground with a small heave. It hadn't gone as well as she hoped it would, but she was still rather proud of her minimal success and hoped the captain could see her full potential with more training.

As soon as Antonio was sorted into Slytherin, his attention quickly turned to getting himself on the Quidditch team. Sadly he would have to rely on using a school broom, which were famously bad. Hopefully if he got himself on the team he could look into getting a new broom. After getting the captains blessing to attend the tryouts, Antonio made his way to the pitch the morning of. It seemed he was one of the last to arrive as some of the older players had got their early and eager hopefuls were already in the air. "Antonio Rey-Marinez, trying out for beater,"

Once it was his turn, Antonio rose into the air on the battered school broom and begun to fly around, with a borrowed club in his hand he began to search for bludgers. Antonio briefly watched chasers take shots at the keeper, wondering if that was the position he should have gone for before he caught sight of a bludger hurtling its way to a kid trying out for seeker. Antonio leaned forward and swung his club to smash the bludger away from the seeker. As soon as he felt his club collide with the bludger, and the adrenaline coursing through his veins, he knew he had made the right choice. Antonio continued to fly around the pitch, smashing bludgers, mostly stopping them from hitting the younger chasers, desperate to fill the open spot on the team. One of the chasers in particular caught his eye, she was a cute tiny little thing, a first year no doubt. Antonio ended up batting away two bludgers from her, it was as if she was attracting them.

Soon, the tryout came to an end, and Antonio's arm was quite sore which he took as a sign he had worked hard so didn't think too much of it. He nodded at the captain as he walked past her and made his way off the pitch.

One reason that Sara practiced more than ever during the holidays was so that she could prove that she could be on the Quidditch team, like her brother Leo used to be - even though he used to be an alternate. Both Sara and her brother were passionate about the sport, so although Sara had a feeling she might be the youngest member to try out, she hoped she would play well today. She arrived to the pitch, with her new broom in her right hand and smiled, trying to hide the nervousness she was feeling.

When it was her turn, she went to the older girl and introduced herself. "Sara Benivieni, trying out for keeper." Without much hesitation the brunette swung her leg over the broom and kicked off the ground, immediately taking position behind the hoop. She missed the first three shots, but blocked the next four. Sara grinned, it was good to be back and to feel the adrenaline that coursed through her body every time she flew. The second year threw the quaffle back to one of the chasers and when it was thrown back in the hoop, almost unexpectedly, Sara made a dive to the left to block it - and she did, just barely.

The whistle was blown, signaling the end of the tryouts. Sara kept a small smile on her face, hoping she did well. She flew back down to the ground and thanked the captain before making her way back to the castle, her brother in mind, she wanted to tell him how it went because she knew Leo always wanted to know how everything went for her. But she didn't mind. Her practice last year during flying lessons and with her brother at home these holidays, not to mention during weekends of her first year have to have paid off.

Lestat made his way through the lawns, to find himself at the Quidditch pitch once more. He was the seeker, and he was sure that no one would try out for his spot. This was his spot after all. He won for the team several times, but they lost the cup to a few points. This time, he was hoping that would not happen. But under Charlotte Owens, he wasn't sure. Lestat walked up to the captain, giving her a slight wave before standing with the others, yawning and looking tired with his hair messed up.

As a first year you had to ask permission to try out and Liam wanted it. He knew that if he was succesfull in the Quidditch team of slytherin that he would get a lot of attention from girls. He loved the fame and hoped that it would come true today. He always loved watching quidditch together with Sofia and Gabriel when they were smaller, but since his aunt died while playing a quidditch game, Sofia stopped going to games. Ofcourse it was a tragedy but he and Gabriel just loved quidditch and Liam was just proud that his aunt ever played in a professional team in Sweden. Liam had found his way to the Quidditch Pitch, after walking along with a student. It was still hard to find your way around here, since he just arrived at Hogwarts. As she joined the group he listened to a girl that introduced herself as Charlotte Owens and their captain. Liam started to smile she was pretty and he always loved talking and looking at girls. He just couldn't help it, it didn't matter if they were older or younger he just got charmed by them. The position as beater was open and he thought it was just his position so he wanted to try out for that. When it was his turn he put on his bright charming smile. '' Hello everyone, I'm Liam Waldgrave and I'm trying out for Beater.'' he said confident. Some peoples seemed very nervous but he wasn't that much, he believed in himself he only had to show it.

When it was his turn he took the old broom from the school into his hands and went sitting on it. He shot into the air and hold his broom tight. As a beater you needed a bat and so he had it inside of his right hand. He was ready to smash the bludger. He didn't saw one yet, but it didn't took long or he heard a sound coming at him and he was just right in time with bend before it would hit him. Liam quickly flew further and looked around him. He needed to protect the seeker so he flyed closely to it and saw a bludger coming at them. He was ready to swing and he smashed it away from both of them. Liam smiled at the seeker and got adreline and wanted more. Not only the seeker but also the chaser were into the games. The blonde flew around and hit a few bludgers away before they would hit someone. He was doing a good job and only got hit one time in his arm with the bludger, but he went sitting on his broom. The most important thing was that he protected the other players and there were some cute girls that he protected so perhaps they were thankfully to him. As the tryout came to an end and Liam felt the grass under his feet again he smiled at Charlotte. '' Thank you for this chance.'' He said friendly and left the pitch together with some other students.

Jasmine knew that the next step after getting sorted was to try out for the house Quidditch team and she jumped at the chance when the read the announcement for the Slytherin Quidditch Tryouts was posted. She knew that practising at home for all those years with Grayson was going to pay off sometime and she hoped that this would be the year. She knew that it was very rare, if at all, that a first year would ever make the house team but she was going to give it her best effort.

She made her way down to the Quidditch Pitch in time for the try outs and noticed that she wasn't the only first year there. She recognised a couple of boys from sorting but she couldn't remember their names but they seemed nice enough. Jasmine smiled at the girl who introduced herself as captain before she picked up a broom and waited for her turn to demonstrate her skill. "Jasmine Wolfe, trying out for chaser" she announced as she mounted her broom and kicked off into the air.

She did a couple of laps around the pitch before she settled into her position. Jasmine knew that being small and quick she had a distinct advantage as a chaser and she felt confident in her abilities. She caught the Quaffle from one of her fellow players and flew as fast as her broom would allow her to the hoops. Unfortunately, she came at the wrong angle due to her trying to avoid a bludger that was batted away from her at the last second by one of the other first years who was trying out, whom she felt incredibly grateful to, however, the Quaffle unfortunately missed it's target. She sighed and flew back to her starting point and followed her other chasers around the pitch passing the Quaffle when she needed to. As she got closer to the hoops again she caught the Quaffle and threw it straight through the middle hoop, she grinned and felt a little bit more confident which helped her performance. Before the end of her tryout she managed to score a couple more goals which she was extremely pleased with. She touched back down to the floor and thanked Charlotte for letting her tryout and decided to watch who was left try their hand at Quidditch.
