Vladimir Zhefarovich was definitely not suprised when he received Quidditch Captain. He deserved it over everyone else here, and he truly felt that way. Vladimir walked down the pitch with his head held high and his black eyes looking around with intensity. Today was the day that the Slytherins would try out, and see if they can get something done. Last year, they held the Quidditch Cup. He was determined to keep that title. Vladimir arrived at the Pitch, and he looked around. No one was here. Good. He let out a sigh and got his clipboard out, making notes of who was gone and who was still around. He gave Pandora the regular Chaser spot because she played in the last game, with him. So, he could trust her on the team, but that was about it. He looked head to see some new potential players and some old. Once he figured that everyone was here, he announced in a cold voice, "Greetings, Isabella Pisces made me Captain of you lot and a beater, if you make the team. Old team, thanks for coming I guess. Now, chasers, practice trying to score. Keepers will have to guard. Beaters, protect our team from the bludgers that are around, and there are more than two. And seekers, practice catching the snitch. Just walk up, tell me your name and what you are trying out for. That's it. Now get to it." He sat back and watched from afar, hoping that the team was not a complete failure.

All right, short and sweet. One post is needed. Old players, just post your arrival, and you are safe on the team, unless you did not participate in the last two games, then you need to try out. We have plenty of positions available, so everyone needs to try out. The more creative, the better!

First years need approval before posting here. Below is the current team and what's available!

As the quidditch tryouts came around Casey had been thinking hard on what position he wanted to tryout for. He knew that there were two open positions at chaser so that did seem like the obvious choice. When he had practiced over the holidays he had mostly practiced his keeping skills. Casey had considered trying out for keeper despite the presence of a regular keeper, who happened to be his age and by the time he had made his way down to the Quidditch pitch, with his new broom in hand, he had not convinced himself to consider another position. He entered the Quidditch pitch and found that he was one of the first people to arrive. This got him considering a manor of possibilities, maybe the other keeper wouldn't turn up.

When the time came Casey gathered with the other hopeful keepers and they each took it in turn to try to save shots. Casey mounted his broom and went up when he was called, he fly and hovered just in front of the center hoop. He had to control his breathing as his heart was beating out of his chest as the chaser turned up to take their shots. The first shot wasn't the best he had seen, it flung towards the hoop on his lower left side. He dropped his broom and dived to catch the Quaffle firmly in his hands. He took his time returning the Quaffle to take his time to relax and to take in that he had made his first save on the Hogwarts quidditch pitch. The second shot was more difficult, it was more drilled but it went towards the same hoop, Casey pulled up his broom once more and dived back to the hoop, this time just punching the Quaffle to the ground and letting the chasers deal with it. The next three shots seemed to come at him in a blur, the third shot went through the center hoop after Casey came out to meet it and it flew past his shoulder. Shot four was thrown towards the hoop to his right, he dived in front of the hoop and managed to get a fingertip to it, knocking it onto the rim of the hoop and bounce back towards the ground. The final shot seemed to be thrown straight up at his face. Without thinking, Casey help up his hands as if to protect his face and caught the Quaffle, he almost laughed in relief as he floated back to the ground with Quaffle in hand.

Avie Mitchell was standing nervously at the side of the pitch, he had arrived well before most of the others. Not that, that would actually help him in what he needed to do for this. Avie hadn't ever thought he was built for quidditch, he was a fairly thin and not very built person. He ran around a lot, and did a lot of exercise but, that was different from flying and from quidditch. His running around made him fast, but it didn't mean he was well balanced or good at catching any ball. He was always fumbling and he really wasn't particularly good at it. But, despite these issues, the boy decided that he wanted to at least give the try-outs, well, a try. Avie was sure that he wouldn't be the worst, and he sure that because he was so terrible at most other school related things, that this would be the one thing that he was actually good at. He of course hadn't really ever played seriously. He was nervous to say the least. It was really the first time in a long while that Avie just wanted something for himself. He just wanted it for him. He didn't try in school, mostly because he didn't think he had the slightest chance. Here, he was actually trying and he thought he had a slight chance. He was just hoping that didn't fall off the broom and plummet to his death. That wouldn't be fun, and also annoying, because Avie had a lot planned for this year, he didn't want to deal with such a thing. He had a rock collection to rebuild and a Styx to make ungrumpy. He knew that it wouldn't be that much fun, and Avie was all about fun. He knew that quidditch would be a good way to have fun, while also being fun. The only question left really, was which position he would actually be trying out for. Avie realised this was probably a decision better left for before he'd gotten to the pitch, but the boy had no idea what he'd be good at. Admittedly when he'd played quidditch it had been just with his cousins, and they didn't have enough people to play 7 against 7, it was just like with the ice hockey, 2 against 1. Avie therefore was hoping that he would be able to make a decision soon. Avie realised that the captain of their team was speaking. Avie walked closer and listened to what he had to say, realising that it was probably pretty important. He got a chance to glance at the different balls that were part of this quidditch thing. A bludger, he didn't like the look of that, nor the quaffle, Avie did however like the shiny gold thing.

Avie realised that he wouldn't mind a game where he had to catch a shiny gold fluttering ball. He liked the look of it, and with his contacts in he was perfectly able to see it. He decided in that moment that he would be trying for seeker. He knew he was maybe not the perfect person for such a role, but he was generally distracted by shiny objects so, this was just another shiny object that he was chasing, for the purposes of the game. So, when it finally came time for the try-outs to begin. Avie stepped forward nervously, a school broom held tightly in his hand, he smiled at the captain, who was really not that much older than him. "Avie Mitchell, for seeker" he said with as convincing a tone as he could, before shooting up into the air. He took a few moments to get comfortable on the broom. He flew around a few times, really getting himself adjusted, getting himself ready to actually do the task, but as the try-outs continued, he realised that it was up to him to fly around trying to find the shiny objects. He flew around for a good few minutes, before in the corner of his eye he actually noticed the little object. He shot off in search for it. Urging the broom on, though when he did finally get close he put out his hand, and just as he was reaching, he slipped slightly, and the snitch flew off in the other direction. Avie swore pretty loudly, before he came to a brief stop and began flying again, searching. It wasn't too long after that he noticed the twinkling in the distance, and Avie shot off in that direction. Flying quickly, arm outstretched long before he had to be. He raced to it, and then was finally able to grasp the little ball. Avie smiled happily, clutching it tightly in his hand. He then realised that the try-outs were over. While Avie's flying wasn't the best, he was rough on his turning, and he had problems slowly down, he was fast, and he was the right person to get distracted from what was going on around him to get the shiny object. Avie flew back to the ground, and waited with everyone else to hear if he might've made the team.

Iason was glad to be back at school. Being off for holidays was great and all but there was nothing like being back at school. This year was going to be exciting for Iason, it was his third year at school and now he was going to be able to do his elective classes. He was excited to try new classes and they were going to be challenging and interesting for him and he couldn't wait to try them out. Before classes started though Iason had a few things to take care off in terms of his club memberships and one of them was Quidditch. He never figured he would like playing Quidditch all that much but he was really enjoying playing and he was looking forward to starting up again.

The morning off the Quidditch try out Iason put on some comfy clothes, grabbed his broom and made his way down to the pitch. He knew he didn't have to try out but he would be more than happy to help out as keeper for people trying out as chaser or whatever. Arriving on the pitch he made himself known to Vladimir and sat down on the side with the rest of the old team, watching the new people try out.

Zechariah couldn't really care less about being back at school, being at home wasn't much better so he figured school was the better of two evils. The only thing that kept him entertained at school was Quidditch. He wasn't one for socialising or being a team player but Quidditch was actually quite fun and playing as a beater was even better because he could literally hurt people and not get in trouble for it - plus it was a great stress relief for him. On the day of the Quidditch try outs he made his way down to the pitch, he didn't know why he had to show up if his position on the team was safe regardless. Anyway, he showed up and hoped that he could at least beat a few bludgers around.

Paige had only played one game in the last season and she been sick the other two. Her luck turned for the worse, not that she minded that much since last year was pretty horrible for her. She was going to pick everything up from where she had left things off and Paige with her broom was now walking towards the pitch. Her hair was now loosely tied up in a brown band and her robes were flowing with the wind. Paige was a fairly good chaser and she would love to be a chaser once more. The pitch was not far away from the main castle and Paige arrived soon after with everyone else that wanted to come into the Slytherin team.

Paige knew Vladimir from their previous matches and she easily walked up to him. ''Paige Rivers for chaser.'' Paige said pretty loud and clear. Paige mounted her broom and flew upwards, trying to score was not that hard. Paige took hold of a Quaffle and decided to do some evasive manoeuvres to flee from 'invisible' opponents. When Paige was close to a hoop she threw it directly at the left hoop and with a thump the thing fell into the sand below. Paige pointed her broom downwards to the ground again and found another Quaffle to play with, when she found another person that wanted to become a chaser she passed the quaffle, assisting the person now and trying to catch the Quaffle if needed. When the other chaser made a score, Paige flew back to the ground to grab the quaffle once more. Flying had always been easy for Paige and she was dedicated and competitive. She had a desire to win, the Quaffle was tucked between her arms and with the quaffle there she started to fly over the pitch. Avoiding other people that were also in for a position. When she attempted a shot, she shot it right at the middle hoop, but it knocked against the hard iron around the hoop. ''Too bad.'' Paige muttered and she started to fly back to the pitch, since some time had already past and Try-outs were over. ''Vladimir, congratulations on captain.'' Paige smiled to him, with that she left the pitch with all the other Slytherins.

Lucien Snow thought that this year would be the year that he tries out for the Slytherin Quidditch team. Originally, he was going to try out for seeker, but he changed his mind when he heard that his brother, Jean, was trying out for Chaser on the Gryffindor team. Naturally, wanting everything to be a competition, Lucien decided that he would make a better chaser. He dressed up in his new Slytherin Quidditch robes, hoping that they would bring him some luck. He brought his shining new broom his mother graced him with when he asked for it, and walked down toward the pitch. There could be some favoritism there since his cousin was the Quidditch Captain. As he approached Vladimir, Lucien held his head up high as he said in a very calm, but cocky voice, "Lucien Snow, trying out for chaser." Lucien gave a curt nod to Vladimir, and thought over his position, and he knew that he needed something that had a lot of action, and a lot of things to do. Plus, he needed to be better than Jean! So it was being a chaser. He knew how to handle one, and he was pretty skillful at making the goals. He walked over to the pile of quaffles, and he took one. Holding it under his arm, he mounted his broom and he took to the skies.

The second year looked around to see who else was trying out for the chaser position. Hopefully no one that he had a major competition with. He narrowed his eyes at the keeper, and he sped forward, his icy silver eyes looking for a way to score. Lucien continued to fly forward, and he tossed the quaffle toward the hoop, but it was blocked successfully. He simply nodded, since the keeper was pretty good. He caught the quaffle and he circled around to try once more. Lucien continued to try to score, and he did not get blocked that often, but he made a few good shots as well. He thought that with this, he would be getting on the team one way or another. His skills were good enough anyway. Lucien thought that he could have impressed the captain some more, so he continued to flew about, trying some tricks, while failing at some of them. He attempted some more goals, and he made them in a little less than half the time. Well, what could he expect, he was a second year. Lucien landed on the ground with ease. He smirked to the captain, something that would not happen much. He left the pitch to go do something, but he didn't know what to do. Lucien shrugged his shoulders and he left lawns to go inside of the castle.

Pandora walked onto the pitch, with her broomstick in hand and took a stand next to Vladimir. It felt weird seeing him as captain, only mostly because it was weird having anyone Pandora was close to having a form of power. Actually lately Pandora had envisioned herself possibly even being with Vladimir. Her father would appreciate him, and they were both pure bloods. Why not? Pandora kept her thoughts to herself and crossed her arms over her chest as she waited for the tryouts to begin. Her interest in Vladimir could surely wait until after the tryouts were over.

Quidditch was Malachi’s passion, he lived for the sport and so he was hardly nervous about the try-out. His father and even his mother had drilled words of encouragement and how he must always strive to do his best and Kai was determined not to let up and to prove that he was just as good as everyone else older than him. Sure he was only a first year, but he had enough practice to make sure he was on the top of his game and now all he needed to do was to impress the captain to try and secure a position on the team. It would be tough, it was always going to be tough but the young boy was determined that he was going to play to the best of his ability and he was going to prove that first years were just as good as everyone else. Sure he was still young and had plenty of time to grow as a player yet Malachi had wanted nothing more than playing Quidditch for the rest of his life and he was quite happy to train all his life if he had to. Maybe he didn't look suited to play sport, he was fairly thin, didn't look that intimidating and he was tall which wasn't always the best thing for when you were trying out as a seeker, but Kai was also light which was always a bonus and he had been flying since he was old enough to crawl. And so as he stood beside the rest of the Slytherin students coming to try out his murky green eyes flickered over them all one by one to try and assess how much of a threat they were going to be to him. Hopefully they would all turn out to be painfully useless meaning he would be the obvious choice, but maybe he was just getting a little too far ahead of himself for that. He would try and try he would to make sure he got on the team just like he had always wanted.

Gripping his broom tightly in one hand he straightened up a little with determination set on his face as he looked at the Slytherin team captain. It was a surprise to him that he didn't seem that much older than him, but he must be a good player to get the captain position and so Malachi was eager to impress him. “Malachi Sadowsky trying for seeker.” His voice was calm, making sure he didn't show any nerves on his young face as he mounted his broom and kicked off into the clear sky to begin the try-out. The young boy sat back on the wood under him for a moment as he ruffled a hand through the messy bit of his hair, a quick way to try and calm him down to make sure he didn't look so nervous. That would only be a bad impression and was something he could do without. Instead he gripped the handle of his broom confidently again and set off in search of the little golden ball. For the while he was up in the sky he mostly forgot about the other people trying out, focusing his young mind on the game and the task at hand. He could worry about everyone else after he had caught the snitch.

It was not long until he caught the golden flash somewhere under him and quick as a flash Malachi had dropped into a dive after it. The snitch was descending rather fats and the first year raced after it pretty determined not to let up and let it get away from him. Focusing his eyes on the golden ball he stuck his left arm out as far as it would go completely ignoring the ground racing in towards him. “C'mon…little further.” His words were a mumble, willing his broom on faster before he was in range, lunging forward just as he smacked into the ground in a crumpled heap. Groaning he untangled himself from his broom, head swimming a little as he sat up with his left fist clenched tightly around the golden snitch. Not the cleanest catch, but at least he had caught the damn thing and hadn't given up even when he risked breaking his nose on the ground. Now all he had to do was to wait and see if he was good enough to make the team.

Last call for try outs.
Open for first years now! I'll be closing this tomorrow or Wednesday!

Raymond Mandy ran onto the Quidditch Pitch. He was was late, really late. There were already people up in the air. He hurried over to the Captain with his broom in hand. "Raymond Mandy, trying out for Keeper." he said quickly before he hopped on his broom and flew into the sky. He really regretted not tieing his hair up! It flew everywhere, but it was good that he had great eyesight. He flew to a goal that was not being manned. The Chasers were making far too many goals.

Raymond grabbed the quaffle just before it went through the hoop. He threw it back into the game. Before he could even rest, another quaffle was thrown at a lower hoop. He flew down and caught the quaffle, throwing it back. He had to make up for being late. The Captain did not look like a nice one. Ray Ray did not mind. He was a Slytherin. He had huge shoes to fill. Raymond continued to block the goals the chasers attempted to make. He missed a few, but he was close enough to awesome. His light weight allowed him to move quickly, and he had never felt so energized since, well, ever.
