Taylor Blare was in her last year of Hogwarts. Her NEWTS year and even though she was now supposed to be facing her most difficult year, she had been entrusted to Co-Captain the Quidditch team with none other then Tybalt Archer. Taylor liked Tybalt, he was sweet and he was dedicated, exactly what she liked to see from members of the team. However, as she was older they had agreed she would take the lead here. Taylor was quite happy with that. Being Captain was a dream of hers and she was delighted to share it with Tybalt. As Captain, Taylor's job was to supervise and strategise for the team, a job she would share with Tybalt as two minds were better then one in every instance. As far as this year was going, Taylor was pretty happy. She was back with Conan, which had been a very interesting process and she was making progress with Ai to the point where they were able to have a civilised conversation. Who would have thought that after six years of hatred, the two of them would be able to progress to the point where they didn't try to claw each others eyes out and now they were both Captains, that was going to be an interesting showdown, to be sure. For now though, Taylor had something more important to focus on, tryouts. A new year brought new blood and Taylor was interested in seeing who would be back and who would join. She had enjoyed watching the tryouts when she was simply a player, but now that she actually had to make a decision on who she wanted on the team, all things were even more important. She was going to have to watch every player and make sure they were up to the challenge. After all, Taylor had her sights on winning the Cup this year.

Taylor grabbed her Firebolt and headed down to the pitch to wait for the potential players. It never mattered what was happening in Taylor's life, Quidditch was the one constant she had and she knew that would never change. When she Graduated she was going to try and join an international team, because Quidditch was her life and she couldn't see herself doing anything else. When Taylor saw the students starting to make their way down to her, Taylor smiled and waved them over. "Hey guys! Welcome to try-outs! In case you don't already know, i'm Taylor, one of your Captains, so I just have a couple of things to say before we get started." Taylor winked at the students and gestured around her. "You can use this entire Pitch to try-out and you can try out for any position you want. So, let's get you all on the same page. Tybalt and myself are going to be in the air for most of this allotted time, so if you have any questions, come and find us. We are happy to answer any questions." She told them, nodding at her previous team to acknowledge them. "For those of you trying out, listen up. Seekers, I want you to search for the Snitch's around the pitch. Try to get as many as you can. Chasers, grab a Quaffle, partner up if you like and learn to use it. Beaters," Taylor held special love for these try-outs, "grab yourself a bat and start attacking those bludgers, keep them away from the players." She nodded at the Beaters and then smiled at the last group, "Keepers, I'm sure you know what's up, don't let the team score anything. The more you save, the better it is for you."

Taylor looked to Tybalt to see if he had anything to add. She then turned back to the rookies. "All right then, everyone in the air and get started." Taylor turned to the members of last years team. "You guys can either relax, though I wouldn't suggest it, or you can help out the newbies, choice is yours." Taylor smiled at the team and mounted her broom, taking off into the air, ready to help out anyone or answer questions. Taylor was going to take the most out of this year if it killed her.
OOCOut of Character:
Post your arrival and trying-out all in one. Last year's team members have to post their arrival to be guaranteed a spot in the team while the alternates still have to try-out if they want to be a regular member. (Courtesy of Kaitlyn and thanks to the Quidditch system.)
The more creative your post will be the better and have fun! :D Lastly, firsties, PM me or Tybalt Archer first if you want to try out. Don't worry you'll get your chance. :D We don't bite. :p

It had been the most surprising news to the teen that he had been made co-captain of the quidditch team. He was unsure about how to even been a captain of anything. Sure he was the leader of the Club Academia, but that wasn't that tricky, a lot more rode upon being quidditch captain. He was therefore glad that he was sharing the role with Taylor Blare. He knew her relatively well, he had met her a couple of times, outside of quidditch. But it was quidditch that he really knew her from. She was nice. He knew that this was her last year, and she would be slightly busier than him when it came to the NEWTs, but he was sure that with the two of them, they would be more than capable of bringing this Gryffindor team to victory. They were strong, sure the last semester's quidditch hadn't been great, but he was looking forward to leading this team to a hopeful victory. He knew that this was the day with the try-outs and he had to make his way to the field. He awoke that morning just full of nerves. Nerves about quidditch that he honestly hadn't felt in a good many years. He just was so nervous about it. It was just the same as always really. He was just not having to do as much to be sure he kept his spot on the team. His sights were set on making this a great team and hopefully leading them to a great victory over all the other teams. Tybalt was also hoping that this year he would be able to help his house win the house cup. He was really hoping that this would be the year for it. After spending a few moments getting ready, Ty gathered his quidditch gear and headed out to the pitch.

Tybalt ended up arriving a little after Taylor but nicely before most of the people who were there to try out. He gave a warm smile to the people as they arrived on the pitch. Smiling at the returning team members. Ty was actually really looking forward to seeing Caroline, he'd really enjoy their time playing together, both when it was actual matches, and that time they'd practiced together on the pitch during the exam season of last semester. He glanced at Taylor as she introduced her to the gathered crowd. He let her go through the usual spiel about what they needed for this try-out to run smoothly. He was really happy to let her take the lead with this. He was really happy that it did not have to be him just yet. He was happy to use this year to be sure he knew how to run things. Tybalt shot a smile at Taylor and nodded along with her, this would be fun. She then left an opportunity for Ty to speak, "Hey folks!" He smiled at them, "I'm Tybalt, or Ty, I'm the other captain. Remember to fun" He said to them, and then let Taylor took over from him, finishing what needed to be said, and then this try-out was of course underway. He got on his broom, at the same time as Taylor and shot up into the air, hovering in it as he waited for these tryouts to get underway and to see which team members would be returning for another year of quidditch.

Belladonna was pumped about Quidditch this year. Hell she was pumped about Quidditch just about every year. With each passing year she became more and more skilled, and it was a lot of fun watching herself improve. Belladonna would like to be a professional Quidditch player one day, but only if she felt that she had skilled enough to be so. Checking the time really quickly, Belladonna grinned and grabbed her broomstick from underneath her bed. After tying her hair back into a braid, Belladonna headed down to the pitch. Upon arrival she noticed the two new captains. Oh that's right, Sergios wasn't here anymore. "Hello!" The young Gryffindor was going to miss Sergios, but she had a lot of other things to focus on so she pushed any thoughts of him away. Tybalt was really cool, Belladonna somewhat admired him but she had always been too intimidated to talk to him. The other girl, Taylor, Belladonna only knew from Quidditch. Since they had both been on the team every year that she had tried out, she figured they would already know where she wanted to go. Standing off to the side, Belladonna waited to see if some newbies would try out so she could cheer them on.

Skye had been an alternative for the Gryffindor quidditch team for two years. She had been fortunate that she had been able to play in her first year. She felt that having been a part of the team set up for as long as she had meant she had a decent chance of breaking into the first team and wrestling one of the main chaser spots. Over the holidays Skye had spent most of her time honing her skills and maintaining her broom to make sure that she was at peak performance when the tryouts came around. As she was an alternate Skye would have to try out with the rest of the hopefuls, her place wasn't guaranteed but she liked to thing she had a slight advantage on the hopefuls that would show up.

As students began to leave the Great hall after breakfast, Skye was already on her way down to the Quidditch pitch dressed in her practice robes and her freshly polished broomstick in hand. When she made it to the pitch she recognised some of the faces from the previous years team and a few new hopefuls warming up. She smiled at the hopefuls that had looked in her direction as she walked in. Soon it was time for the tryouts to begin and Skye took her place with the other hopeful chasers. Skye picked up one of the quaffles and mounted her broom.

Once in the air she flew in formation with some of the others towards the hoops and preceded to take it in turns to take some shots. Skye's first attempt clipped the edges of one of the hoops and plummeted to the ground. Skye angrily smacked the end of her broom as she dived to the ground to collect the Quaffle from the ground. Her next attempts at the hoop went better, the next three shots all went in and her final managed to find its way in after the keeper spilled it. Skye let out a huge sigh of relief as her final shot went in through the hoop and she made her way back to the ground for the verdict.

Caroline walked down to the pitch on the day of tryouts to see what fresh blood they might have on the team. As a member of the previous year's team, her spot was secure. The Gryffindor girl saw several people gathered around, both familiar and not familiar. "Hey guys!" she greeted cheerfully. Caroline congratulated both Tybalt and Taylor before going to stand near her fellow chaser, Belladonna.

I am now opening this up to first years. Should you want to try out, please pm me before hand. Any old members wanting to return, please do so soon.

Arianna was quick to get dressed and prepare herself for Quidditch try-outs. She didn't exactly have to try-out to be on the team again but she did have to be there to watch the others. It wasn't such a hard task and even if it was Ria would attend really, though she was sure that her cousin was not too all happy about it. She had managed to hide her Quidditch activities from him since no one knew her enough to know her relationship with Liam and because he didn't watch the games. Well, aside from the game against Slytherin. She had gotten a pretty good scolding from him really but she was still determined to play Quidditch iin her last year. And so, she had gotten to the Quidditch Pitch and greeted Taylor with a smile. Everybody except the first years knew that she was a Nightray now, there was no point in hiding it. When the try-outs started, Ria made sure to watch closely and cheer for them as well.

<COLOR color="#000">Since sorting all Archie could think about was Quidditch try outs. For a long time he heard about Quidditch, and had tried his hand at flying a broom in the past and hitherto today he loved everything. So by the time the day for try outs finally arrived at his feet the eleven year old was entirely restless, eager to try out for Gryffindor and if he was lucky, establish a place on the team. He was apprehensive trying out in his first year, however, he assumed flying around with his sister would be training enough. By no means was he an expert flyer, but he knew enough to remain stable on a broom and in the air. This was enough, was it not?

He arrived to the pitch with his broom in tow, nervously tugging the hair on the back of his head as he stood among the crowd. After both captains said their part, Archie approached the captain and stated his name and desired position. "Archie Renner, I'm going for keeper!" The first year exclaimed, ginning enthusiastically in an attempt to hide his simmering nerves. He quickly mounted his broom and followed everybody into the air. So far so good. Speeding towards the hoops, he slowed to a stop in front of them and turned to face the other students, hovering in wait as the quaffle made it's way over to him.

He easily sped towards the first shot, hiffing it away from the center hoop with his forearm. Surprised at the easy save, Archie immediately felt more confident in his abilities, never mind his amateur experience so far. The second shot hurled to him, however, was far from easy. The first year fixed his vision on the chaser flying his way, failing to notice their intent to shoot towards the taller hoop until very late. He sped in the quaffle's direction and barely scraped the surface with his fingertips, slowing it enough to realize it was out of reach before he scrambled around his broom to use his head in place of his hands. More stable than the tips of his fingers, his forehead successfully hit the quaffle in the opposite direction. "Hell yeah!" He shouted, throwing his fist in the air to celebrate his success.

Not knowing how long try outs would last, Archie spent as long as he could in the air before returning to stable ground. In his mind his try out went well, spite his almost failure to block one of the shots. That would be okay, surely, hopefully. He sat on the ground in wait for the captain's decision. That was how this all worked, right?

Matt Greene walked onto the Quidditch field. He approached the captains and gave them a nod. It would be a good year, he felt anyway. Everything would be just fine. Right now, he was fighting the feelings that he had for Belladonna. She was beautiful, and he liked her. Really liked her. But for now, he needed to focus on Quidditch. He made sure that he was apart of the team, but he did not want to try out for seeker or keeper. He would rather stick as an alternate, and be needed if he really was needed. He doubted it though. He watched as the others tried out.

Now, it was his time to shine. Vulcan Zhefarovich borrowed his brother’s broom. It seemed weird that he was carrying an Emerald streak while he was a Gryffindor, but no matter. A color was a color. That was it. His silver eyes danced in the light as he walked outside. He had a lot of things to think about, and right now, he wanted glory. And he wanted to play Quidditch. Naturally, he was going to try out for the seeker position as he heard through the grapevine that the position was open. He needed something like this to happen. He simply did. Vulcan approached the Quidditch pitch, and immediately, his eyes landed on some of the older students. He narrowed his eyes slightly at the others that were trying out. He approached the captains and he announced in a rather proud voice, "Vulcan Zhefarovich, trying out for seeker! I hope I amaze you with my young, first year skills." He knew how to fly. He did have his brother as a Captain for Slytherin, and winning the game for Gryffindor against Slytherin would just rub Vladimir the wrong way. That would make Vulcan the one that would be the most pleased out of any Gryffindor in the school.

His confidence right now was through the clouds. Vulcan knew just what he would need to do. Mounting the broom, and he took off through the skies, dodging around others in Quidditch robes. Vulcan continued to fly around, where he wondered where those blasted snitches were, because he could not see a single one of them! Vulcan swerved around as a bludger dared to come near him however he managed to dodge it without getting hit. Letting out a single sigh, he moved forward toward the north hoops before he managed to see a glimmer of gold in the skies, closer to the hoops. He soared forward to go toward the snitch as it hovered, and he continued to chase around it, his hand outstretched toward the golden ball that would in turn change the entire outlook of a game. In his mind, he could hear people chanting for Gryffindor, for him to catch the snitch, his brother to hiss and shout at him to distract him. Everything in his mind was non-existent, but it was still helping out the young lion as he soared forward, and he swerved just as the golden snitch started to go back up toward the south end.

Oh he was not going to let that little bugger get away. He forced the broom to go even faster, and he felt that he was nothing but a streak up that pitch. Dodging another bludger, he managed to swerve again, and he reached out, and caught the little ball, his fingers gripping the gold as tight as he could. Holding the snitch up, he beamed, and slowed to a stop. "Yeah! Look at that!" He released it and went to find another one as the snitch took off. After some time of flying around, Vulcan had managed to catch the snitch again, which was a relief. He loved the fact that he was getting to be better at seeking. Vulcan was hoping that no one else was trying out for seeker because he really wanted the position. He wanted to have the glory to himself, call him selfish, but he kind of was to an extent. He always got rather competitive when it came down to sports. He continued to fly around, and try out as much as he could before the captains would call them down. Once he landed, he cast a smile to the older girls, and left the pitch.

Gajeel had been excited about trying-out for Quidditch ever since he found out that he would be entering Hogwarts New Zealand. Frankly, he didn't care what house he was put in as long as he would get to play Quidditch properly. Well, he did know how to play and he used to play back home, but it was never much competition considering that Levy and Princess much more preferred to stay in the ground and do their own stuff so they weren't much up for playing with him on brooms. It was certainly disappointing. So, when he found out that there would be try-outs for Gryffindor, Gajeel instantly prepared himself for it and though he found out that their team already had loads of chasers, he still wanted to try out for the position. And being an alternate was fine for him too, at least he was part of the team and had a chance of playing. Thoughts like these were circling his head as he headed down to the Quidditch Pitch with his own Nimbus 2000 in tow. He knew it was an old model compared to others but he was determined and besides, he could get a better broom soon.

As soon as he got there, it wasn't long before the try-outs commenced. He grinned in excitement, "Gajeel Cheney, trying out for alternate chaser," the boy said and though he knew that there were a lot of chasers, he couldn't care less. He was going to be part of the team and that was what mattered, it meant that he still had the chance to play after all. When the signal for them to get in the air was given, he was just too excited as he got himself a quaffle, mounted his broom and kicked off the ground. As he circled the Pitch with the rest of the chasers trying-out, he passed the quaffles to the other whenever they were open. Quidditch was about teamwork after all and he knew he wouldn't be able to make the goal alone. And so as soon as it was passed to him, he took the shot and thankfully, it went through. And he pumped his fist in the air. As the try-outs went on, quaffles were shot, goals were scored and shots were blocked. But nevertheless, he enjoyed his time all too much as it was the first time he had played with a lot of people involved, and so when he got back to the ground, he was grinning like mad at the fun he had.

James had had a disastrous second year. He had been placed as an alternate chaser during his first year at Hogwarts, but due to family problems, he had not tried out during the second year so as to have more time with his family. He knew that they needed him, and as such, Quidditch would have been too much for his heart, knowing he should be helping out in any way he could, not relaxing with his mates. Although relaxing was hardly the correct term, as all he remember of his first year was sitting on the edge of his seat, biting his nails as he anxiously waited for Gryffindor to score again.

James had had a lot of experience on a broom before arriving at Hogwarts, and his skills had been honed by the flying lessons that he took, and by his cousin, a retired seeker for a famous team. His cousin had shown James how his talents had been wasted: his eyesight was incredible, and James knew he could find the snitch easily.

James therefore arrived at the Quidditch pitch, slightly early, because he had not slept in deliberately. However, he only saw one other person trying out for seeker, and he was not disheartened to find out that it was a first year. James called out a cheery greeting to Taylor Blare, congratulating her on her promotion to captain. He gave his details: "James Adams, trying out for seeker. Alternate chaser in first year, but reconsidered my abilities after my cousin's prompting."

Soon James was in the air, having mounted his Scarlet Streak smoothly, and pulling into the air without a jolt. He knew the best tactic for himself was to climb high, and look for the snitch below him, trusting his sturdy broom to get to it before any other seeker. As James hovered, looking down at the flashes of scarlet that denoted the other players, he noticed the first year, Vulcan James remembered, catch the snitch.

After that jolt, James scanned the pitch for a single glimpse of gold from the elusive snitch. Suddenly, a flash of gold whizzed past the tower at the end of the oval pitch. James dived, leaning down into his broom, urging it to fly faster than before, hoping to impress the captain and show her his determination to win the position. James threw himself around the tower, catching the snitch in his glare as he muttered "I have you now, little snitch..." under his breath. He drew nearer, and reached out his hand; James felt the cold metal of the snitch in his fingertips as the tiny wings grazed his knuckles. He closed his grasp, and suddenly the wings contracted. James sat up straight and punched the air, letting out a whoop of laughter. He unclasped his fingers and the tiny ball took off once again to lose itself.

James began to climb again, back to his original position. This time, it took a lot longer to find the snitch, but he soon did, and James felt a frisson of excitement as he saw the snitch hovering close to the ground. He leant forwards, and shot off down to the gold ball, using gravity to aid him in his speed. He could feel the wind rushing through his hair, and laughed aloud at the experience. Suddenly the snitch was off, and James straightened out of the dive to give chase. He glanced to his right and saw a bludger streak out at him seemingly from nowhere. Cursing his late glimpse of peril, James yanked up on the broom, blessing its quick reactions as he frog leaped over the ball.

The snitch was only a little way off, and James saw it duck down into the trench. Without a thought for his safety, James gave chase, his periphery vision telling him that the walls of the trench were very close indeed as the dark wood streaked past him. He dodged and weaves over the girders and pillars supporting the stadium, but soon he drew closer to the snitch, and felt the glorious relief as anxiousness was abolished - he had caught the snitch yet again.

James flew up out of the trench and over to Taylor, showing her the snitch. "How was that Ty? I hope I did enough for a spot on the team!"

Jean had barely slept the night before. The excitement of finally being able to try out for the Quidditch team had kept his thoughts racing, going over different moves for most of the night. Although he'd been extremely sleepy when he had first woken up, his energy had swelled after breakfast, adrenaline kicking in. A crash was sure to follow after the tryouts. Stepping onto the pitch, gear on and broom in hand, Jean greeted the captains politely before standing with the others to hear the instructions. When it was time, Jean stepped forward. "I'm Jean Snow, trying out for Chaser" he stated happily.

Mounting his broom, Jean kicked off smoothly. You can do this, he encouraged himself as he leveled off and began to zoom towards the players with the quaffle. Quidditch was a shared interest between Jean and many of his siblings. It was one of the few times that he didn't feel inferior or weird, and one of the rare occasions when he was included by his siblings and not because their mother forced them to include him. So, the Gryffindor was confident in his abilities. Swooping in, Jean stole the quaffle from a female house mate and he soared towards the hoops, a grin on his face. Leaning forward, he gained speed, dodging a student who tried to steal the quaffle from him. The wind blew through his blonde hair and whistled in his ears as he headed for the left hoop. Quickly enough, he had transferred the quaffle from his armpit to his hand and he reared back quickly, sending the ball towards the left hoop. With bated breath, Jean watched...as the keeper caught the quaffle. Disappointment filled the young boy and he banged his fist against his broom handle as the quaffle was handed off to another. Not wanting to give in to defeat, Jean continued to fly with the other Chasers, showing his passing skills and his flying abilities.

By the time he'd landed, Jean had not had the opportunity to try for another goal but he hoped his other skills would help secure him a spot on the team. He wanted it so bad that he could taste it. Jean knew that his brother was trying out for Slytherin, and if he made it and Jean didn't, he knew he'd never hear the end of it.

Last call for Gryffindors!
The try-outs will be closed by the end of the week!

Lowan Ran out of the castle wand in his hand. he had somehow got the time wrong in his head and was now (after an off chance look at the notice where he had seen the time) he had ran to get his broom and bat and thus and then sprinted out of the castle glad that the break at home he had played a lot of AFL and had thus got used to sprinting. as soon as he was out the door still running he mounted his broom. and flew towards the quidditch pitch. He had enjoyed being on the team for the last two years. he did like being on a team even if it was just for training and not matches. it gave a sort of feeling of mateship that Lowan liked and as there was no AFL in the school quidditch was good. he landed just as the others were taking to the air. "Hello Taylor and Tybalt" he said. "Lowan Kickett trying out for Beater, Or if you need Keeper" he said knowing that both of the captains were beaters so although that was his favourite roll he would be unlikely have a match in the near future unless one of the captains had to sit out due to illness or injury, which given the roll may be possible. he took to the sky adjusting his grip on the bat. His eye out for bludgers he saw one and flew towards it a solid whack on the bat and it went flying fast in the opposite direction. glad with his shot he looked for a few more and hit them all hard. after a few minutes he went back to the floor and put his bat gown before taking residence at one of the goals. keeping an eye on the chasers and quaffle. It wasn't long before he was facing one of them. It was a good shot on goal but he managed to catch it before it went through. he threw it back to one of the other girls whilst he waited for another attempt. as there wee a couple of balls in circulation it wasnt long. the next one he also managed to catch but he then missed the one after that. "Good goin' mate" he said to the chaser as he flew after the ball. this kept going until the end of the practice when he landed and waited to see the outcome.

Try-outs are now closed! Here is the line up! If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to PM me, or Taylor Blare! And don't forget to post pictures in the yearbook.
