Okay so i was wondering how you guys came up with your characters names :p
Here's mine..

Liberty Barnett = Libby was the cute little sister in a series of books i was reading at the time, and Barnett was the surname of someone on the radio that was used to listen to 24/7 :p

Lykke Wu = Lykke is from the artist Lykke Li, who sang one of the songs in Twilight :p

Aaliyah Kaziien = Aaliyah - Google :p Kaziien - Random letters :p

and finally

Robert Kain = Robert reminds me of this blonde boy i read somewhere when i was little. Kain - I wanted (and still do) him to be a werewolf.
 
Georgiana Night = Georgiana, character of Jane Austen's. Night, cause it sounded cool. Indian Name, found a site to translate the words, Small Dove.

Kayden Night - Kayden, googled. Night ^

Alexa Venturino = Alexa, random normal name, Venturino, a friend's last name and just very cool.
Dyfan Venturino = Googled strange baby names, which came to a conclusion at Dyfan.

Sandokan Bruke= needed a name of a priate like person, and googled that and found Sandokan was the priate in a book made back in the early 1800s. Bruke, cause that's what i was told to use, as I was making him to a plot Andrew Brukes life story lol.

Gwenneth-Adrie Linde = I love the name Gwenneth, it's nice and old fashion, Adrie just because I felt her name should be long lol. Linde, just googled last names for dutch/german heritage.

Adalyn Jez - completely googled hers
Maximilian Jez= i know a guy named Maximilian and it's a cool name lol

Jordan Trace Vanderhol= Jordan Trace, googled, Vanderhol, cause he's adopted into the Vanderhol family :)
 

Elijah Tine - I created him on a whim, and had to come up with a name quickly. Elijah, was because I had been reading some article with the name Elijah, and I liked it, so I picked it. Tine, actually means fire in Irish Gaelic. So, going from Fuego, I thought it was a nice sneaky way to have that sort of connection between the two.

Charlotte Edwina Williams - I'd been watching an australian programme, where three girls were the daughters of a rich english guy and they all had really polite ways of speaking, and Charlotte is a pretty name, also victorian, as is Edwina, and Williams seemed most logical.

Malachy Scythe - I watched Cherrybomb with Rupert Grint, and loved it, and I liked the name Malachy, and the second name means sword, it's a type of sword, and I thought that suited it.

Stefan Archer - Stefan isn't actually from the Vampire Diaries. But, it's the German version of Stephen. Stephen being a very popular name in Scotland, and I looked up the different spellings of the name, because I was curious and Stefan really stuck with it. When I was first planning out Stefan, his name wasn't going to be Stefan, but either Winter (cold, distant, quiet, which would describe him well) or Christian, but I liked Stefan Best, and then Archer, came the beer, Archers. I always try to go for normal-ish names, and I liked Archers, but, I wrote it down several times, with out the s at the end, and Archer stuck.
 
Hamza Khalid - My own name. xD

Xavier Littlefield - Xavier was an old friend of mine's name, and Littlefield is a town's name that's about 15 minutes drive from my city. xD

Selwin Snape - Searched up Selwin, and Snape randomly came to my mind. :p

Jacob Romance - Jacob was my classmate's name, and I was watching a commercial which talked about 'Romance' or something, and I just used it. xD



 
Estrella- This was a Spanish name that I really liked, but didn't take when we chose names in Spanish class. I chose Carmen instead.

Drage- This means dragon in Norwegian. It seemed like it would be a good last name for my character.
 
The Surname Snow: There was actually a girl from France with the last name Snow that I went to High School with. I really liked the last name so that's where I got it from, oddly enough it goes well with a lot of names too.

Alyssa: I have a cousin named Alyssa, thought the name was pretty and decided to use it.
Theodore: I remembered seeing his name in a book we were reading. I can't remember the name of the book but I do remember that I reaaally liked the name Theodore.
Ariah: It was originally Aria, and I found it on Google. But I eventually decided I hated the name and I switched it by adding an 'H' onto it. The last name Rowan was thought up by me because we have this Rowan tree in our back yard.
Aphrodite: I wanted this charrie to be a hopeless romantic so I looked up names having to with romance. Aphrodite ended up being on the list.
Nicolette: A girl I went to school with had this name. But it was spelled Nicollette. I took out the other 'L' because I thought it looked st00pid.
Etoile: Got this name from, Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure. Which is a game I used to plaaay all the time when I was younger.
Effie: Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. ♥
Danielle: I have always loved the name Danielle, tis so pretty. Any name that ends in Elle pretty much really catches my interest.
Samantha Daisy: A girl I went to school with had this name. Didn't like her, but I love her name.
Desdemona: Gooogle.
Kasura: Kind of made this up myself.


These were all the interesting names I came up with. The rest were either google or ideas given to me by someone else. xD
 
Jennifer Wilkonson - I actually just liked the name Jennifer and I misspelled the surname. It was supposed to be Wilkinson when I originally registered but forgot to ask to get it changed so it stuck.
Bronte Rockwell - Literary name, FTW! I was re-reading one of the Bronte sister's books when I made her and Rockwell was a character that one of my RPG buddies had on another site and I liked it.
Karah Green - John/Hank Green and I have a friend named Kara but I liked it better with the 'h' at the end.
Tamas Mauven - I was searching on babynames and thought it looked pretty cool. Mauven was Rosaline's maiden name.
Rosaline Mauven (Jenane) - Rosaline is also a literary name... Romeo and Juliet to be precise. Mauven just sounded cool and Jenane was random, tbh.
Kalani Alexandra - I just thought the name was pretty and Alexandra is the name Britt came up with.
Megara Bennett - I was watching Hercules and Bennett is a literary name (Elizabeth Bennet from P&P) with an extra 't' so she couldn't be related to Fletcher Bennet.
Azolla Loncar - Azolla Carolina is actually the name of a plant so I thought it'd be sweet to use that as her first/middle names. Loncar was just something I came up with randomly.
Valkyrie Zimmerman - I've always liked the name and Zimmerman is one of my friend's last names.
Delilah Richarde - Hey There, Delilah was playing when I made her and Richarde was Joceline/Alexis' last name.
Joceline Richarde - I've just always loved the name Joceline and Richard was my friends last name except for a 's' being switched with an 'e'.
Alexis Richarde - My name because I'm lame and see above for surname.
Nina Patrokov - I adored the name Nina, still do. And Patrokov was a random choice.
Aiden Lorka - Random for first name and Lorka was supposed to be similar to Lurken so I could remember it. I just changed it a bit.
Abigail Lurken - I've always adored the name Abbey and for her it made total sense considering she was an orphan for most of her life. Lurken was not chosen by me.

That's all I can think of right now.
 
Le Fey, I hav just finished reading a book called I am morgan le fey, as i made my first account, and i loved the main character and wanted elvera to be a little like that
Elvera, elvera, i was looking dor a nam to use as a character in en english thing at school and i spent ages searching and came up with alvera meaning warrior of the elves(or something like that) and under related name was elvera which i preferred.

Briar Rowan, Briar is a wild, spiky plant. and i wanted her to be wild and a little devil may care, Rowan, or witch wood, is a tree of protection against evil (witches) a good name for a group of centaurs to call a child who may or may not be magic. it may also mean read, as briar has red hair

Tara Sitara, tara, is a hindu goddess and as i wanted tara to be indian i wanted an indian name that wasn't too unusual, tara may also mean star. Sitara, sanskrit for star. (i only realised that they both meant pretty much the same thing afterwards, but i like how the names are similar
 
Cyndi Weasley- I actually started this account with my full name (first and last) and then Alicia pmed me asking me if I really wanted to use my full name. I decided not to and had Cyndi's last name changed to Weasley because I :wub: the Weasley family.

Irene Finch- I chose Finch as the last name because one of my favorite books is To Kill A Mockingbird and that is the last name of the main characters in the book. Irene was chosen simply because I thought it fit. I was going to have her name changed to Irina which probably would be more in line with her history, but I never got around to it :shy:

Ioan- I needed a name that started with an "I" and found this name on a baby naming site. I thought the definition of the name was pretty fitting considering what I wanted his character to be like.

Sebastian Rossi- Sebastian is one of my favorite names ever. If I ever have a son, that is so going to be his name ^_^ Rossi was chosen pretty arbitrarily. I might have seen a commercial on tv advertising a fashion designer whose last name was Rossi. I honestly don't remember.

Andrew Belo- I had a really good friend whose name was Andrew. I knew that I wanted him to be Brazilian, so I looked up Portuguese last names and loved Belo, which means 'handsome' in Portuguese.

Jeremy Thorne- I'm also a big fan of the name Jeremy. All of the Jeremys I have ever known have been really nice guys, so when I was coming up with Jeremy, it was a name I kept coming back to. I finally decided to use it. I think Thorne came from a book or an article I was reading at the time that I was thinking up the character. It flowed, so I used it.
 

Maddiie-This was how my sister use to spell it so I went with Maddiie instead of Madeline :p

Link-This was actually my ex-friend account so he doesn't count really, but he got the name from the game Zelda and than I suggested Black , than we had to switch to Woods (it's Black again cause of Raziel) :)


Makayalah and Madlyn- I had a friend who's name is Madlyn, so I went with that too :p and Makaylah will be my future daughter's name if I have one :wub:


Margera and Makwa-Margera I really got that from Bam Margera I know xD (pricless) but that's how I got DeNiro for Maya and West for Jaden (actors surnames) but Makwa I google for N.A last names and got that. I ♥ the names I've had so far :)

Brian Getathorn XIX: Is a name I came up with via a nickname my brother and I used when we were little and playing video games Brigeta (letters used from my first, middle and last name) plus my age at the time when I joined 19. since that wasn't allowed I used my first name and then added 'Thorn' to then end of the last four letters...

Luxen Silverback: I knew I wanted that sounded like a bad person and I had heard the name Luxen from somewhere and I liked it, as for Silverback I decided cause I thought it all sounded right, I knew I had wanted Silver to be in the last name...

Tin: I wanted a name that was simple and a little cute because I figured it would match the House Elf and I think it's matched his personality pretty well...

Morganna Le'Creigh: A name I chose based off Morgan Le'Fey but also because it was being used as a character in a book and I liked it.

Erica Matthews: Well I chose Erica Durance (P:cool:'s first name and then I put Matthews cause I liked it lol

Ravyn Daniels: I always liked the name Ravyn and I gave her a simple last name to go with it....

Chloe Mack: Her last name comes from the PB Allison Mack, one of my favorite actresses and the character she plays is Chloe off of Smallville I figured the two names went well together.

Cynthia Vandervoort: Vandervoort is the PB's last name and I wanted a first name that would instantly make her sound like a Biotch! I think it's worked...

Kuang-> Well the Chinese for "king" is Wang and the Korean is "Kwang" and Sally Kuang is half Chinese and half Korean... So... :r

Chihiro Aiko: Chihiro is frm the film "spirited away" and Aiko is my friend's name.

Maybelle& Annabelle: I love the name "Belle" and also the Disney Character xD

The rest r either, sounds nice or from Goooogleee ♥
 
::Willow Autumn Willow is one of my favorite names. Autumn...I like Autumn. The fact that they're both related to each other is purely coincidental.

::Aiofe Chan I love love love the name Aiofe, it means beautiful and it's pretty unique. And Chan? ...Well...I'm a fan of Jackie Chan movies. - A+ for Originality.​

Abathyn Dalmoir: purely made up by me. My first four characters were all a-words, and for the middle two I just put sounds together.
Aroha Jennings: I wanted something that showed NZ- even though she ended up being Irish. Aroha is Maori for love, and I'm like, roughly a third (or less) Maori.
Olive Mayfield: Olivia -> Olive. She's based on me, with my personality. Go figure. Mayfield.. I'd been reading a book that was set in May, and there are fields outside my house so it was one of the things I immediately thought of when looking out for ideas.
Riley Lillis: Riley is actually Olive's older sister. I chose Riley as a name.. because a website suggested it would suit me and I decided I liked it. And Lillis.. idk actually.
Tess Lillis: I'd been talking to someone called Tessa, and shortened that makes Tess.
Jucinda Tennison: Jucinda.. I just came up with. Tennison, because I was at school at the time and my school's on Tennyson St.
Christopher Wright: I like the name Christopher. I suggested it to my Aunty to name my new cousin. Also, it can be shortened to Chris- which just seems to go well with Willow :r I can't remember why I chose Wright, honestly.
 
Dannii Merrythought: I actually didn't come up with this name at all because I made her for someone else at first.

Brodie Fudge: Brodie was the middle name of his original PB, and Fudge is my last name.

Arisa Havishmen: Arisa was the name of a girl in a manga I was reading at the time, and Havishmen is how I used to read the name Havisham for some reason.

Julian Hain: I just really like the name Julian and I saw Hain on a list of last names.

Peyton Wilson: I'm pretty sure I found Peyton on a baby name website, and Wilson was on a list of last names.

I know I'm so creative with names right? :p
 
Kate Moon: Kate because I like the name.Surname I didn't really have a choice Maia (Sara Moon) picked the surname first and since i was the twin sister kinda had to go withe same name

Ryan Moon: The exact same reasons! :)
 
Sara Moon: Sara, because I reall y like the name and Moon because, well I know this is kind of stupid, but when I first read the board rules I thought you had to have the surname of someone from the book, so I went to book one and looked at the names in Harry's sorting list and Moon was one of them.....

Aisling Finnigan: I chose Aisling because it's a nice, Irish name and it means dreamer (hence the saying in the siggie) It was only later that I realised that was Sara's middle name, also I had to use Finnigan, because she's Caysi's sister.

Jake Storm: I love the name Jake, and I wanted him to be kind of "Johnny Storm" from fantastic fouri-ish with a kind of flirty theme, thus Storm.

Maia Purdue: It's my own name, so i thought I should use it.
 
Madeline Dela Merced Madeline is from the cartoon character while Dela Merced is from a Mexican soap opera

Kyleigh Rodriguez Kyleigh is from babynames.com while Rodriguez is from my friends middle name/family name
 
Well Eden started as Eden Luna. That came from this guy I was dating last name was Luna and I thought maybe one day him and I would marry and it did not happen. Koshiba came from Ana and the Koshiba family.

Lilith is the name I want to name my daughter when I have her.

Daisie A'Dare Came from a show called dead like me. I really liked the name but it was spelled the normal way and Daisie is not normal and so that had to be changed a lot.
 
Katalina Emmalyn Vanderhol--Well I don't know if anyone has ever seen 'Will & Grace' but the character on there, Karen, used to use a false name when she was out in public, Anastasia Beaverhausen. Well my mom and I got to talking one night and she asked what name I would use if I were to do something like that and I just blurted out "Katalina Vanderhol!" So after I started on the site and had to change my name from my original user name (the uber fail iwannaweasleytwin xD) I just kinda went with that because I liked it. I got Emmalyn from a character on the show 'Army Wives' but I just changed the spelling a bit.

Serena Blair Vanderhol--My sister actually created this character and when she did she had originally used Blake Lively as her PB and was like obsessed with 'Gossip Girl' so she used the names from two of the characters on the show for the first and middle name.

Marleigh Hayes--I had watched the movie 'Marley and Me' and liked the name, but didn't like the way it was spelled so I just changed it xD I think I just Googled last names and thought Hayes went well with that one.

Tanner Sullivan--For Tanner I just Google searched baby names and his last name I did on a sort of dare and it's an inside joke that only Jessye, Pat, and Kaitlyn would understand xD

Lola Mason--Another one of my sisters abandoned characters :tut: She liked the name Lola so she just went with that and she wanted her to be related to Kat so we used Cystine's maiden name.

Hannah Lindstrom--I picked her up from Deb so I'm not really sure how her name came about xD

Kynleigh Davis--A girl I went to high school with has a little girl named Kynleigh and I loved the name and Davis was just a name I picked off the top of my head.

Natalina Vanderbal--LOOOOONG story xD Inside joke between myself and Amanda!

Sawyer Franklin--Sawyer is the last name of one of the characters on 'One Tree Hill' and Franklin is just a random name I Googled.

Dominik Marinescu--I think I had looked up Romanian first and last names and came up with the two of those.

Peyton Brooke Davidson--Peyton and Brooke are names of my two fave characters from 'One Tree Hill' (PSawyer and BDavis :wub: ) and Davidson is the last name of one of the girls I work with.

I have more characters, but these are the ones that I use the most and I'm too tired to remember why I picked their names xD
 
Michael glass- i got michael glass from i book i was reading at the time. i decided to use it as i thought it was a awesome name as he was a ghost in the book.

Stefan glass- i used the name stefan as i was addicted to the vampire diares at the time so he was named after stefan salvatore. i gave him glass surname as he was adopted by micheal.
 
Woah, I got Artemis from one thing, and Jackson from another. ;)

Artemis: Artemis is my real name you know. I swear! To be honest, I didn't know what to put when I first signed up here in HNZ. So, I just decided to put my name instead. I was thinking if I should put Arty [nickname] instead of Artemis. But then, it doesn't really sound good, doesn't it? So, that's where Artemis came from.

Jackson: Do you know the guy from Percy Jackson? I was obsessed with him before. Yeah, he's Logan Lerman, to be sure. So, I got Jackson from the movie "Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief". I love that movie. Up to now!

You know what, you could say that my name come Greek Mythology because Artemis is the Goddess of the Hunt, and the Percy Jackson series are all about Greek Mythology! And, my favorite Goddess is Artemis herself. She's really cool. I also like Athena though. :cool:
 
RANDY SCOTT BOURNE: easy, Randy = Randy Orton and Bourne as in either Evan Bourne or Possum Bourne (NZ rally driver). And his middle name is my brother's first name.

and JAZZELLA AERITH KENNADY: Jazzella actually came from one of my pet cows, Aerith came from Final Fantasy VII and Kennady I just liked the sound of
