Victoire always made a special effort for halloween, it was just her enjoying the sights and sounds of the Halloween festivities, she had never enjoyed it at home, it hadn't been done too much when she was back in Belgium but now here in New Zealand, she enjoyed it. It was just much better, she enjoyed spending time with other people in various strange costumes. This halloween had been tricky one, the girl had spent hours in front of her wardrobe trying to figure out what she could wear, but eventually she had settled on an easy costume, something manageable and doable for what she had. It was slightly put together, but considering it was also October she had dressed as a wiener girl, something she liked. It was a short red skirt which helped bring the outfit better. It was a traditional skirt she'd gotten from the flemish area of Belgium some years before. The skirt her father would say was a little small for her now, but Victoire believed it to be fine.

Once ready, with her blonde hair in little pig tails, she then made her way down to the great hall. She was hoping that she would see Jean at the feast, as much as she enjoyed the company of herself she was really hoping to run into her friend. Victoire straightened out her skirt as she wandered into the hall. Her bright eyes glancing around at the different costumes she could see. They all looked pretty good. She couldn't wait to get to dancing and enjoy herself at the feast. She couldn't spot her friends but then again, people were in costumes and she wasn't exactly good at telling people apart in this light, it was a little funny seeing all the students and professors wearing different costumes some with a little magical enhancement. She smiled happily getting herself a drink and sipping it lightly, trying to find any of the people that she knew within the costumed crowd.

Snaking out a Gryffindor robe and tie, Lucien Snow could not believe that he was actually doing this. Never in his life, did he come to one of these events. Instead, he sat in his dorm, munching away on some dried fruit. Now, Avie was at the feast, and Lucien was convinced by Jean to finally come by. However, Lucien didn't have an idea for a costume, so he just borrowed his brother's clothing, and was going as Jean Snow. He was in costume, so no one would actually believe that he would be his own twin. Although, when he wasn't wearing his robes last time, he was mistaken for Jean once before. So, who knew. As he entered, he noticed a motley crew of different people, and he groaned. Oh why did he have to suffer through this?! Lucien wore a scowl on his face as he walked by everyone he could, before arriving at the table of sweets. There had to be something here that wouldn't rot his teeth. He couldn't find anything, so he went to the drinks and sipped on some of the pumpkin juice. How fitting for Halloween. He didn't even notice that he was standing near his brother's friend. Lucien was just minding his own business. After all, he just wanted to deal with this alone, or until his twin arrived. He looked down at the liquid before sipping once more. Why did Jean love these things? He could not figure it out for the life of him.

Inspiration had struck Jean days before the Halloween Feast as he had been busy contemplating what to wear. It had been much too late to ask his mother to send a costume, and he definitely couldn't wear one of his old ones again. Even if they did fit, which he knew they wouldn't, he'd worn them already. Jean had even tried asking Lucien for help, though he ought to have known better. Lucien hated those kind of things. That's when inspiration had struck him though, and Jean had prattled on so much about the idea that he'd finally obtained a begrudged agreement from his brother to join in. Jean had done all of the work, meeting his brother in the antiquated lavatory to get into their costumes. Jean knew he would have gotten hell for wearing his costume in Gryffindor tower. With one last shout to his brother to not scowl too much, Jean had turned his attention back to the one cracked mirror in the room to practice his brother's scowl. Finally sure that he had it down, Jean began slowly making his way down to the Great Hall.

The boy managed to not run into any Slytherins during his walk down. It made sense since the Slytherins would be coming from the dungeons. The blonde boy stopped in the doorway, glancing around at everything. It looked spooky, and a smile threatened Jean's face. He stopped himself though and it looked more like a smirk, which would have been more Lucien anyway. Looking around, the boy spotted his twin, standing right beside Victoire. She was dressed in a costume that made Jean's eyes widen ever so slightly as he took it all in. He wasn't exactly sure what she was supposed to be, but he liked it. A lot. The Gryffindor quickly averted his gaze moving to the opposite end of the food table from where they were standing. Grabbing a big pumpkin shaped cookie, Jean bit into it as he contemplated going up to his brother. He decided to wait a bit to see if they could truly pull off the switch. Taking another bite, Jean smiled. He didn't often eat sugary items, but he always made an exception during Halloween. In no time, he'd be as hyper as Avie. Looking around for the guy, Jean wondered if he would recognize him for the Gryffindor he was.

Victoire spent a good few minutes just glancing around the hall until her eyes settled on whom she believed was Jean, the boy had not dressed up for Halloween, he was just wearing his usual gryffindor robes. The teen was pretty confused by this, having always believed that the wizards and witches of the world would be the ones to celebrate this holiday. Some muggles from those english speaking countries, but instead of just standing around trying to figure it out, the teen just walked over to him, and after a small greeting of, "Jean," she without further warning wrapped her arms around him in a hug. Smiling brightly as she pulled away from him. Victoire had no idea that this was not whom she thought it was, it looked exactly like who she wanted it to look like, so she had no idea this was someone else, and when she pulled away she smiled brightly at him, "Where is your costume Jean?" she spoke in rapid french, with a bright smile. She motioned at his clothes smiling slightly, she wasn't sure why he hadn't dressed up, she gave a small smile as she tried to figure out what the boy was being if he was in fact being anything, "Can you tell what am I?" Victoire's costume was perhaps a little more obscure than most, and she did imagine no one would actually get it. Jean was the only person she spoke french to, so, that was why she continued to speak to him in french, having no idea that this wasn't the guy she knew as Jean.

It's pretty awful.

Lucien heard the name of his brother, and he smirked coldly, before he tensed up as the girl embraced him in a hug. What sort of girl was this? She was close enough to hug his brother, so, well, he needed to play this up right. Wait, he shouldn't just yet. He needed to figure out who the hell she was. He turned to look at her directly, before he brought his cup to his lips. He was asked where is his costume, before he fell into silence. He did not have an answer right now. And she asked him if she could tell what she was. He looked her over, before he raised an eyebrow and replied in French, "A hooker?" Lucien looked around for Slytherin robes, and when he caught them, he knew that he was looking at his brother. However, maybe he could really play on Jean a little bit. He could not wear his expressions though. It was something he could not master. Lucien took another sip of his drink and he asked, his voice somewhat rude, "Are you into muggles or something like that? I figured you would have abandoned such disgrace to the magical world by now." By now, she might realize that this was Lucien and not Jean, but who knew. He didn't know the relationship between this girl and his brother, but he might as well get to the bottom of it. After all, look at the way she dressed. Very demeaning.

When Victoire pulled away from the boy and then when he spoke, she froze on the spot. She looked at him with a strange expression, why would he say something like that. Victoire just shook her head at him, why would he say something like that, this was halloween that was a time to be a little more open and free, she was being just that. The gryffindor teen felt strange she looked the boy up and down as he then kept speaking, this wasn't anything like the discussion that she'd last had with Jean on the seventh floor. Victoire shook her head at him, she just couldn't believe that he would say that, and so she couldn't believe that. Victoire then remembered that Jean had a twin, she was just, she glanced around the hall trying to spot if she could see Jean, "You're not Jean are you?" the girl switched to pretty broken English it ran a lot smoother than it once had when she had been when she had first arrived in the school. Victoire smiled politely at this other boy, "Are you Jean's brother?" the girl said with a little bit of an accusing tone, though she was still being as polite as it she thought it would be. As polite as she thought she had to be towards him. She had always seen them in class but she'd never thought they would do this, she felt a little annoyed that they would do this, but also thought it was a little bit funny for them, while it wasn't overly funny for her, "You're rude," she mumbled to herself in Flemish knowing that both Jean and Lucien didn't speak that language.

Jean didn't see the Slytherin boy anywhere, though there was a Spiderman shooting around the room at break-neck speed. The Gryffindor was willing to bet that was him. Not wanting to risk getting shot with whatever it was that the guy was shooting at random people, Jean kept eating his cookie as he glanced in the direction of Victoire and his brother once more. Jean started walking over as soon as he did. The body language of the two made it pretty apparent that his brother had done something to bother Victoire. Moving people to the side with barely an excuse (it really wasn't so bad being Lucien sometimes), Jean began to make his way closer. They were still too far for Jean to catch what either of them were saying, but neither one of them looked thrilled. The Gryffindor was hoping that maybe Victoire was upset about something else. Surely, Lucien wouldn't have done anything stupid. Jean had told him that Victoire was one his friends just as he had mentioned Avie.

The Gryffindor boy pulled his Slytherin robe from where it had gotten caught on someone else's costume and continued forward. He was almost there and then he was. An opening right in front of the pair allowed him to come in right in front of the two of them. "Jean. You and your little friend having fun?" he asked, playing into the role and hoping that he had been mistaken. There was no sense in messing up his plans if nothing had transpired. Lifting his hand up, Jean realized that somewhere in his rush he had dropped his cookie. He dropped his hand back down, shooting a questioning look at his brother before smiling at Victoire. From this close, her costume was even more amazing. Jean had known that she had grown a bit over the summer but now it was a bit more obvious. Jean hadn't overheard the conversation so he didn't realize exactly how rude his brother had just been to Victoire about her costume. Otherwise, he would have ended the ruse right away. Instead, he moved it along, standing as his brother would as he waited for Lucien's reply.

Avie was happily enjoying himself in the great hall, the smile on his face evidence of that fact. He was wearing his all time favourite costume, Spiderman, mask and all, just running around the hall with his friend, Emily, shooting the fake webs at people. It was just a lot of fun, far more fun that the last halloween had been, the one he had not attended due to a lack of costume, that year like this one he'd written a letter to his mother asking for help in the form of a costume, but last time unlike this time he had gotten his wish, his aunt had sent him this costume. The teen was enjoying himself, and he was dragging Emily along behind him as he rushed through the crowd. She had stopped him, briefly, to be able to blow glitter in his face and then run in the other direction. Avie laughed before chasing after her, following at a slight distance because Avie was a pretty fast kid but he was keeping his pace slower so that she would be able to keep ahead, he was following behind her, that was until he noticed Lucien standing next to a guy who looked like his exact double. Avie didn't pay much attention in classes, he paid even less attention to the people, the momentary distraction, cause Avie to stumble and crash to the floor in front of this small crowd of people.

The teen was momentarily dazed before he got to his feet and then took off his mask so that Lucien would be able to see who it was. He looked at the girl who was standing with them and then to the boy who looked exactly like Lucien in the Gryffindor uniform. Instead of holding back, his hyperactive and sugar filled mind just caused him to give whom he thought was Lucien a hug, before pulling away, "Lucien! Your costume is sooo boring," he told him with a small huff, this friend of his was supposed to have dressed up, he then looked at the other one, whom he did not know and frowned at him also, before glancing lastly at the girl, "See she's got the right idea. It's Halloween!" Avie looked around and tried to see if he could flag down Emily, "EMILY!" he exclaimed before turning back to the two Luciens and the blond girl, "Why aren't you guys dancing, or having fun? It Halloween," Avie told them again, hoping that instead of standing around like they were they could go have fun, he hoped that Emily would also spot them and also go have fun with them.

Running around the Great Hall was not exactly what Emily had in mind for tonight, not that she really had anything in mind, but running certainly wasn't it. She wasn't a runner, she was a cooker, she liked cooking and some dancing, maybe a bit of reading, running wasn't really something that she did terribly often. Still, she didn't mind it so much as long as she was having fun, which she was, so that was a good thing. Playing games with Avie was also fun. She'd never really been much of a game person, she'd always been more into her home economics, as her mother called it, but this was fun, as long as no one got hurt. Every now and then she had to stop running and duck away to fix her hair or her ears because all the movement had dislodged them. If she had known a spell to keep them put, she would have used it, but unfortunately her mother had not really taught her those kids of spells, given her career choice. Emily didn't blame her mother, she quite liked muggles and she enjoyed the act of physically cooking, but magic sure made the whole process a whole lot easier.

It wasn't until a little while later that she noticed Avie was no longer with her. He'd been keeping behind her at a slight distance, though she knew he could have easily over run her, being quite a bit fitter then she was. He was, after all, the Slytherin Seeker. "Avie! I can hear you! Where are you?!" She turned full circle on the spot, but she couldn't see him, there were too many people. Frowning she looked around to see if she could find something to stand on. She grinned when she found a table, and making sure there was no professors around, she climbed up onto it and searched the room for her friend. She smiled even wider, were that possible, when she saw that he was talking to a group of people. She assumed that they were probably his friends, though she didn't know any of them, they were probably older. She waved to him before jumping down, dropping some of her glitter along the way and rushing over. "Avie! I found you!" She looked at the others, a pair of twins and a girl. "Oh! You're a wiener girl, right?" Her mother had taken her to a couple of baseball games a couple of years ago. Emily had found them quite boring, but had gone none-the-less. "I like it!" She wondered why the twins had not dressed up, but supposed that they may not have liked this holiday. "I'm Emily! It's nice to meet you!"

It seemed as though this girl, Victoire, was on to his little game. Lucien kept his deadpan expression, because he wanted to smirk and throw away his game. He couldn't do this. This was too good. He looked toward her as she asked the question again. Well, he might as well tell her. Lucien opened his mouth to speak before he saw his brother, Jean, answer the question for him. Jean called him Jean, so Lucien didn't really have to answer the question completely. He looked toward Victoire, and this time, he definitely gave it his all. He actually smiled like Jean and said, "Of course. I actually managed to drag Lucien along with me today. Surprising, isn't it? I think my big brother is influencing me though, for my earlier behavior." However, his silver eyes looked over his brother, and if anyone could tell them apart, it was the eye color. He had liquid silver while his brother carried Alphonse's blue. Apparently, Jean didn't let his friend in the little scheme, which only meant that they were not as close as he imagined.

Lucien would have rather that they be left alone. However, as fate had it, his eyes widened slightly as his brother was hugged by Avie. For once, it wasn't him that had to deal with someone who was hyperactive. He breathed a sigh of relief. Then Avie called over someone else, which made Lucien groaned under his breath. Seriously, this was why he never came to these things. Too many people that got on his nerves. The girl named Emily introduced herself to them, them as in he and his brother. Lucien simply looked her over before shaking his head. "Pleasure, I'm sure." Lucien reached behind him for another cup, while throwing the empty one to the floor with no regard. "Sorry, Avie, but I don't dance. Not sure why I came out here, but I guess I figured out why." He gestured toward Victoire, or rather, her outfit.

Victoire glanced at the boy, the boy in front of her, almost looked exactly like Jean, and so she was very sure that this boy was her friend, but he wasn't likely that person, Victoire sighed slightly, and then even more so when he continued speaking. She didn't like this, she glanced around glad when the other brother came into view, so now she stood in front of the Snow twins. Now with the two of them in front of her she really wasn't sure who was who they look the same. She looked at the other boy, the one in the slytherin uniform, this was the one that she didn't know. Jean was the twin, the gryffindor that she knew, Victoire was smiling as politely as she could trying to stay positive in this situation. She didn't know what else to do, she glanced at the slytherin boy and then smiled politely at him, "We were," Victoire smiled happily at him, and then at Jean, or whom she believed was Jean. She was therefore pretty pleased, when their little moment of peace was interrupted when the hyperactive boy from their year essentially snowballed into their little bit of peace.

Victoire was glad that at the very least some of the tension had been taken up with this boy, and his slight craziness. Although when he hugged the boy in the green uniform, who was apparently Lucien, she frowned a little more, really hoping that they were just messing with people. She didn't think she could figure this out, twins were just so frustrating. She watched in surprise when another girl appeared in front of her, she was dressed as a nymph. She was glad for this, at the mention of her costume, Victoire just smiled happily at the girl, nodding at correctness of her statement about, "I am indeed," the gryffindor said in a heavily accented english, looking between her, Emily and then the boy, "I'm Victoire," she replied, before glancing at 'Jean', he didn't know why he'd come out here, and then motioned to her outfit, she felt her cheeks flushing a deep red. She didn't know what else to say about it. Instead she just glanced between the two twins, and wondered why neither of them had dressed up really. But, she felt embarrassed, and unsure about what intention Jean had, and also unsure of what possibly to say.

Jean paused, his blue eyes narrowing slightly at Lucien’s words. It seemed that there was some sort of hidden meaning there, one he should have gotten. But, he was enveloped in a hug before he could decipher it. Jean remained stiff, glad that the boy had no attention span and quickly let him go. He gave the Slytherin boy a little half shrug. “I’m only here because Jean dragged me here” he replied, looking at his older brother. Avie was difficult to keep up with. Before he’d even finished his reply, the Slytherin boy was calling someone else over and then jumping back to talking to them. He couldn’t believe that Lucien actually dealt with this kid. He found Jean annoying, but Jean knew that he was nothing to how annoying Avie could be. Jean had never spoken to Avie before tonight, but he’d seen him in classes and around the school.

As another person in their year showed up, at least Jean assumed that she was since the rest of them were, Jean gave her the sort of look that Lucien would give someone he’d rather not have met. “Lucien” he replied in a droll tone, catching the end of what his brother had said to Avie’s question. Jean looked at him sharply, horrified at what his brother seemed to be insinuating. He looked over to Victoire to see that she too seemed to understand the insinuation. “Jean. Can I speak to you…over here?” he asked, gesturing behind him where they could take a step or two away from the small group that they had found themselves in the midst of. “Now” he added in a tone sure to carry over the music, knowing that his brother would try to ignore him. He didn’t even bother to answer Avie’s question, though, like his brother, he didn’t dance either.

Avie smiled happily at the group that he was surrounded by. He was still looking over all of them trying to find Emily, whom had disappeared into the crowd when he had fallen over. He was very pleased when she seemed to spot them and headed over. Avie waved happily at her, he looked back and soon Emily was upon them, "Where'd you go?" he asked her when she arrived. He was glad that she had managed to catch back up to him, or essentially just re-find him. Happily he looked back at the crowd he was with, finally realising what the blonde girl's was dressed as. It was something when he thought about it he actually remembered, he was happily remembering all the time his mother had taken him to various hockey games and how great it had been. Avie smiled as Emily introduced herself to the group of people, "I'm Avie!" Avie gave a warm smile to the people within the circle, he was happy with it all. He didn't notice the strange feeling among the group, he was just pleased and in the midst of a very serious sugar high, so it wasn't like he would actually notice anything.

When the boy in the Gryffindor uniform spoke and said his name, he listened carefully but didn't really understand what had be said, "Why?" he asked the Gryffindor boy. The boy was confused but he didn't really care about it, instead he glanced at the girl as she said what her name was, Victoire. He was happily just dancing on the spot, easily ignoring what was happening or why the two twins were saying nothing. Instead he just watched as Lucien asked to speak with the Gryffindor boy. Instead he just grabbed both Victoire's and Emily's respective hand, with his own before then dragging them both away from where they'd been stood, away from Lucien and his brother, "Let's dance! Come on, just leave them," he pulled them slightly, and then let go rushing to the dance floor, motioning for them to follow him. He was just smiling happily, "Come on,"

This is pretty bad, apologies.

Emily looked at the group of four. She definitely did not know the others. They were definitely not classmates. At least Avie seemed to know the Slytherin. She wasn't surprised that he and his twin were in separate houses. She and Nathanial had also suffered such a fate. Though they didn't get along at all, so it was really not all that surprising. She hoped that the same was not so for this pair. It truly was heartbreaking for her that her brother hated her. She loved her brother and she wanted him to love her too. She looked at Avie smiled. "I didn't go anywhere. I was fixing my hair and then poof, you were gone!" She didn't quite know what had happened, but, she wasn't worried, she'd found him now, so everything was okay again. She frowned slightly though when the Gryffindor boy said that he was hear to see the girl's outfit. Emily looked at the outfit and then grinned. They must have been dating! She looked at the confused Avue and giggled, whispering in his ear. "He means she's pretty." At least, that's what she thought he meant. It was so nice that they could hang out together!

It wasn't long though until she was being dragged away from the group again, along with Victoire. She waved at the boys as they left and quickly turned back to Avie. "Woah, geez, slow down!" He let go then and continued running to the dance floor. Emily shook her wrist to wake it up again. She looked at Victoire and grinned. "You'll have to excuse him. He gets a little hyper. He's had far too much sugar today I think." She then left Victoire and followed after Avie, finding him on the dance floor. "Are we dancing? I like dancing."

oh wow, I'm sorry.

Jean was surprised when Avie seemed to take the hint better than even his brother did. As Avie pulled the two girls onto the dance floor, Jean couldn't even meet Victoire's eyes. He waited until the group had moved safely away before turning on his brother, his blue eyes narrowing as he glared at his brother. Jean had been angry with his brother before, numerous times, but he couldn't remember being this angry. And he was fairly certain that he should be angrier than that. If Lucien had said those things with everyone around, who knew what he had said to her before Jean showed up. "Why did you say that to Victoire?" the boy stated in rapid fire French to his older brother. As he glared at his brother waiting for an answer, he took in the teen's stupid Gryffindor robes wondering why he had bothered to convince his brother to come to this party. It was then that he made the realization that caused his stomach to drop to his knees. Those were his stupid Gryffindor robes. "Oh no" he muttered to himself, glancing over to where the trio danced. " Lucien. You have to tell her it wasn't me who said those things. Tell her I was just kidding when I called you Jean..." he ended in a pleading tone.
