Training up the Cubs

Aiden nodded and mounted his broom and flew over to the North hoops quickly and looked down at the others waiting to see what the other first years had in store for him.
 
"Beaters, come to me" Mike shouted, incase some hadnt heard him talk to Kiera and Hilary. He turned to the beater(s). "Listen up please, if you don't know me, Im Mike, 2nd Year Gryffindor,Keeper for the team", Mike waited for any of them to introduce themselves, and then started to explain what they're going to do. " Right I want you to grab a bat, and then grab a few tennis balls, and try and hit them towards the chasers, whilst they try and dodge them. What makes a good beater, is an accurate aim and a certain amount of power. First of all, I want you to grab a bat, and a couple of tennis balls, and then try and aim for the South Side hoops , and try and get them in" When you have finished that, then come back to me.
 
Steph walked over to Keira, 'Hey im Steph.' She said, holding out her hand.
 
((Just go over to her, and introduce yourself, Im sure she'll post soon ^_^ ))
 
((Okay, cool. I was just saying, because she's on. Or at least, I think she is.))

Shrugging, and making a decision, Laura grabbed her broom, and walked over to Hilary.

"I'm Laura," she said, "Laura O'Connor."

She was slightly in awe of her. How cool was being trained by a champion?!
 
Annamarie followed Aiden and Steph over to Keira, who would helping to train her for chaser. She waited as Aiden introduced himself and she explained to him what to do. After Steph introduced herself, Annamarie smiled and walked up to Keira. "Hi Keira! I believe we met a the party you threw a the beginning of school!" she said happily.
 
Kiera took Steph's hand and shook it. "Its nice to meet you Steph." Kiera said with a friendly smile. Then she turned to Annamarie. "Hey there! Yes I remember you! Who are we still waiting on or is this it?" she asked.

Hilary nodded when Mike asked her for her help and then turned and grabbed a few practice golf balls out of the shed and a snitch. "Hey Laura" she said when the girl introduced herself, "My name is Hilary Grace, Fourth Year Gryffindor, Seeker and the HNZ champion, but I don't mention that one" she said with a wink to the first year. "So have you ever caught a snitch before?"

Hollie listened to Mike's instructions and went over.
"Hey, I'm Hollie Ridley," she said, shyly. She appeared to be the only one interested in Beater.
Mike said:

Hollie nodded. "What, so we have to try and hit the tennis balls in the hoops, and hit them at the chasers?" she queried, waiting for confirmation.

Hollie grabbed a bat and a couple of tennis balls, and mounted her broom. She hovered in the air for a few seconds as she waited for Mike to answer her question.
 
Kiera grinned. "Excellent! Okay what I think we should do first is take a quaffle and practice throwing it back and forth and attempt at goals. The first two times will just be simple pass and repass to the goals. Then it will get tricker!" she said with a wicked gleam. "Yall ready?" she asked as she reached to pick up her streak.
 
Laura smiled at Hilary's wink, still slightly in awe of her.

"So have you ever caught a Snitch before?"

"Well, I have caught an old Snitch," Laura said, shrugging, "It was slower than a normal one. My dad got it off his friend when I said I wanted to learn how to play Quidditch."
 
"To clarify, I want you to stand here, and aim for the Sout Hoops, soon after,when I say I want you to mount your broom, and I will throw up some tennis balls, you have to chase them and hit them before they hit the ground, try and aim for the chasers" Mike asked. "Understand?" Mike asked.
 
Hollie nodded, trying to grasp everything Mike had said.
She lowered herself and dismounted.
"Ok, I think I got it," she said. "Hit tennis balls from here, and then when you say I mount my broom and chase balls, hit them before they touch ground." She nodded again. "Ok then,"

She raised the bat into the correct position, her broom on the floor beside her, and waited for a tennis ball to come her way.

Annamarie nodded enthusiastically to Kiera. she swung her leg over her borrowed Nimbus 2001 and kicked off the ground. She stationed herself across from Kiera and Steph ready to play.
 
"Okay, well that's a start" Hilary said with a smile, "The first snitch I caught was to win our first official game.... so you are doing a little better than I was." She hoped that this would give the first year a little more confidence. "But first off all I want you to do is hover about ten feet above the ground.... I am going to toss some of these practice golf balls to different sides of you and I'd like you to catch them before they reach the ground." Hilary smiled wondering if the girl understood, "Oh and I'll give you a quick pointer before you start, don't be afraid of dives, they are like a seekers bread and butter."
 
Steph nodded at keira and mounted her firebolt.
She kicked off and rose into the air, and hovered about 10 feet in the air, waiting for Keira.
 
Aiden watched eagerly as Kiera, Steph and Annamarie flew towards him and set himself up in front of the middle hoop waiting for something to happen.

Annamarie was about to respond to Kiera when she tossed the quaffle in her direction. Even though she was caught off guard, she acted without hesistation Annamarie dove and flew towards it caught it in her arms. She turned and flew a bit further up the pitch. Whens she felt it was a good dsitance she turned and threw the quaffle to Steph.
 
Hilary glanced around and saw the other students getting into position for their own little games. When she saw that Laura was in position she smiled and through one of the practice golfballs over to the left of Laura.
 
Steph dived up and caught the quaffle, almost dropping it. Steph tucked it under her right arm and flew a little to the left, she stopped satisfied with the distance she threw back to Keira.
