The Stands

Tristan had been eager to see this match. Now that he was friends with Ares, he wanted to be there to support his friend. He was sitting with the other Hufflepuffs and trying tow atch the beginning of the game, but a few loud first years kept distracting him from it. He shot them a glare when they started yelling some girl's name. Really, some of the people here were still so childish. He tried his best to focus on the game and grinned when Ares got the quaffle. He cheered and got up from his seat when the boy scored, he really was talented.

April giggled, she was so happy to see Norton she jumped up and down. "We can be cheering buddies again!" She said happily. "I bet Hufflepuff is going to win and be the best house FOR REAL." She squealed and joined him in cheering for their team. After a while she noticed he was shouting something else though, and she looked over to see Minerva. Norton clearly wanted her to join them but she didn't seem to hear. She inhaled as loud as she could. "MINERVA!" She yelled at her loudest, which was considerable since she tended to be loud by default. She was also tall for her age, so by jumping up and down and waving she figured she was fairly visible. She hoped the other girl would see. The more the merrier.

Minerva gasped, the teams seemed more intent on taking one another out than trying to score! She began to wonder yet again what people saw in this game and lowered her omnioculars a moment to give her eyes a rest from them when she most definitely heard her name called. Glancing down into the lower benches, she saw April jumping up and down and gave her a smile and a wave. If she was there then Norton would be there too. She turned to the Hufflepuff beside her and excused herself as she tried to squeeze past him stepping on his toe by accident.

"Oh cripes, I'm sorry" she bit her lower lip as she made another attempt to get past, she was fairly small and slender after all and could fit into just about any gap there was. Her omnioculars all but got caught between them however and she stopped her moving for a moment, stopping directly in front of him and if it wasn't for her small stature she would surely be blocking his view of the game. Pulling the omnioculars up and over her head she handed them to him as a way of an apology.

"You can give them back to me later ... really am sorry about the toe" she told him before this time making a full on attempt to get through the crowd and down to the lower benches. It took her probably five minutes but it felt like an eternity until finally she was alongside of April with Norton on the other side.

"I heard you calling" she beamed, wanting to smack her face with her hand for stating the obvious, "Hi!" she said to both of them, "what do you think of it so far?"

November was pretty much the lamest Hufflepuff there ever was. She hadn't come out to a single game all year, choosing to just spend her time in the library studying during the previous games. But as this game seemed special to her house she headed down to the pitch and took up position in the back row of one of the stands. The match was just starting so she snuggled up in the cozy blanket she brought down with her to cover her from any breeze that blew into the stands and watched as the teams lined up. The young Hufflepuff had about zero knowledge as to how Quidditch really worked. She hasn't enjoyed flying lessons first year that much and wasn't a sporty person to begin with. It all seemed a little silly to her. But, she gathered that the sport was well loved across the entire wizardry world. She hoped one of her friends who knew something about the sport would find her and explain what was happening, otherwise she would be at a lost and not know where to look.

The Ravenclaw quidditch team had not played very well that year, but that fact didn't ruin Flavio's excitement to watch Hufflepuff play a foreign team that day. He had never seen a quidditch match in person that wasn't between the teams at Hogwarts, so watching school team from a different part of the world facing his school was immensely exciting. Not only that, it was interesting to him. He wondered how different the team's tactics and playing style would be compared to the teams at Hogwarts, or if it was different at all. Though no matter what the opposing team was like, nor the outcome of the game, Flavio was excited for the experience of watching it and could hardly wait for the game to begin as he sat in the stands, smiling wide with hufflepuff colours painted on his face.

Minerva had heard that her house team were playing a foreign team and was awestruck that they were that good, of course they had proved as much in their games that entire year but to be actually playing another school's team must be exciting and nerve wracking for them. She didn't know any of the Hufflepuff team really but she was delighted with the fact that they had won the quidditch cup that year, her first year!

She had still to find the trophy room and view all the cups within but for now she thought she would actually go along to this game and see what a foreign school team were like and if they could hold up against Hufflepuff. She really hoped her house team would win of course and had shown up in the stands sporting as much Hufflepuff merchandise as she could from hat and ear-rings, to socks, scarf and sweater. Maybe next year she would make a badger hat or something when she came to support the team, she definitely had no intention of playing.

She took a seat, having looked first for Norton and April and any one else she might know but the entire school seemed to be out to view this particular match and so finding any one in particular was like finding a wand in a lumber mill. The game play began and within moments Hufflepuff scored, she cheered and applauded like everyone else, nervous for the outcome but of course she need not have been.

Barely an hour had passed and though Beauxbatons did even the scoring, Hufflepuff caught the snitch and the game ended. Surprised by the quickness of the game, Minerva was also delighted. She thought if more games ended so quickly she might actually get used to supporting the team more, then at least her studies wouldn't be terribly interrupted. She left the stands smiling brightly at the teams win and headed back to her dorm, she still had mountains of transfiguration that she wanted to practice and then of course there was the spell she had been taught by Alistair to get back at Vex the school poltergeist - lots of practical work gave her a pleasant change from her books but only some.
