The Stands

Peyton was in a foul mood all week leading up to her brother's first game. The baboon was named beater for the Hufflepuff team and her rage was beyond when she found out about it. She was the sister who will make her brother's life a living hell on earth just because she cares a lot. Although, she'll do the same to her younger sister. To make matters worst, Hunter was on the roster to play and that impressed her a little bit. Who could have thought he'll be playing? Peyton always thought he's an alternate material. She wanted to ditch the game and just study but that would only make things worst between them. So, Peyton drag herself to the Quidditch Pitch and hope Cato would find her from the crowd later. She found a seat at the Gryffindor bleachers and waited for the game to start.

This was to Minerva the most bizarre, scariest and bravest ... possibly stupidest thing she had ever done! She was certain that with a lot of talking herself around and around ... and around she would be able to cope with watching her first ever quidditch game instead of only listening to it on the radio. Crowds had always bothered her but she had been assured from eavesdropping at the table while having her head buried in yet another book, that very few people showed up to watch the first games of the season. It was usually the semi-finals and finals that the crowds came out for.

It was like dipping her foot into freezing cold water, she was frigid with fear as she walked up the long winding stair to the top of the Hufflepuff stands. Sure enough however she was the first person there, this was better than she had hoped for and instantly she moved right down to the very front so she could watch the game closely. She had never been good at flying even on a rubber broom but had always enjoyed watching her father on his and even her brothers on their toy ones.

If she was just more ... more really, then perhaps she could fly, or could make friends, or could talk to someone without going purple or pale or turn her head and stare blindly straight ahead as if frozen by a stupification spell. She had her Hufflepuff jumper on considering how high she was, Spring it may be but it was high altitude and she wasn't ready to catch any bugs this time of year and end up missing out on class! She wore her jeans, silver and gold trainers and a small Hufflepuff flag to wave if she felt brave enough. Minerva just seriously hoped that the stands would not pack up but that the team might have to settle for her supporting them alone.

Clementine had never really been to many Quidditch games, but now that she knew someone who was playing, she suddenly felt the need to go. She wanted to go and support Anthony because he was the Seeker on their House's team. She knew it was an important position and she wanted her House to win naturally. She was dressed in a yellow dress to show off her House pride, but it was rainy and gloomy so she had a yellow raincoat and rainboots on anyway which were much brighter than her pale yellow dress, but at least they were still her House colors. She missed her best friend Teddy but she was happy supporting Anthony now and was glad that they weren't playing against Gryffindor so she wouldn't feel conflicted in showing her support. Though she supposed Hufflepuff would be her bias regardless because that was her house, and Anthony was on the team whereas Teddy was not on his House team. Clementine arrived on the stands and took a seat while she waited for the game to start because she knew she'd be on her feet cheering soon enough.

Norton had heard about quidditch but he wasn't quite sure what it was really about until he went to a game, he wanted to see what it was, so he was in the stands. From what he'd heard it was largely a game played in the air. The young hufflepuff was wearing some things which he thought that would be house prideful. Nortie was excited about it, happy to see it. The boy was stood in amongst the rest of the hufflepuffs, he knew that he should've made a note to invite gilly or something with him, but he hadn't really thought to until now as he stood amongst the crowd of people ready to cheer on the team. Norton was excited by the prospect of seeing the game and was already cheering loudly with the rest as the teams walked out. He was going to enjoy this game.

Xavier wasn't the biggest fan of quidditch because it always made him worry for his brother's safety, but he still always showed up to support him from the stands during games. This game was no exception, and Xavier had arrived to the stands with his face painted in hufflepuff colours and the widest of smiles. He sat down and cheered when he saw Ares walk onto the pitch. He didn't know much about quidditch, but still hoped that Hufflepuff would win and that his brother would help the team to victory.

The very first Quidditch match of the year would be April's own house against Octobers. She was really hoping the Hufflepuffs would win and beat the Ravenclaws completely so she could tease her maybe-sort of-stepsister about it later. Also because April was competitive by nature and would love to be part of the winning house. The only thing she would have loved more was being part of the team out there on the field, all eyes from the stands on her. But unfortunately, first years usually weren't allowed. The Hufflepuff Quidditch team had had enough older players, so she hadn't bothered trying out. She would wow them next year for sure.

She found a place in the stands near a boy she recognized from her own year. She beamed at him, he was unmistakably here to support their team, as he was wearing their colors. "Hi!" April said to him, beaming. "I forgot your name, but I'm pretty sure we're both first years and in Hufflepuff, right?" She laughed as in delight as she looked around. "Isn't this all exciting?"

Alana knew that her team was better, but she figured it was a good idea to go and watch the game anyway. It wouldn't hurt to see the competition. She was friendly with both captains, Felix more so since they were in the same year. Reuben had had a rough go of it last year though, so a small part of her was rooting for his success...in this match.

Watching as Hufflepuff took possession, Alana paid close attention to see how Ravenclaw would react.

Nora was excited to see both of her cousin playing today but turned sour once she found out that Teagan was sitting for the rest of the first game and that Caelan was playing for her. She was going to demand if Liam Adams was the problem but held her tongue at breakfast. Nora could do something about it but didn't as she cared about her cousin. Although, watching Caelan play would be a train wreak. A first year playing for the team? Who does he think he is? Harry Potter?

The Slytherin made her way at the Quidditch Pitch dress in her bluest spring dress. She was of course routing for Ravenclaw. The Maxwell always has. As the game started, she felt guilty toward Teagan. The blonde Ravenclaw sat at the players bleachers like a lost puppy. If I could just use a bit of jinx spell toward the Hufflepuff beater, Nora thought while twirling her wand between her fingers.

Norton's smile grew when he was greeted by someone in his year and house. He smiled at her, nodding at the question, "it's Norton! Whats yours? It is the most exciting!" he asked, since despite them being in the same class and having probably countless in class introductions he hadn't really remembered her name. Norton was watching the game raptly, so enthralled by just the sheer amount of things happening. The boy couldn't believe therefore when the ball went through the hoop and the hufflepuff stands erupted. He jumped up cheering loudly, looking to the girl whom he was standing with, "I've never seen quidditch before now, it's amazing, look at the players, I don't think I could play it, I'm better at Taekwondo, and can't really fly yet given we've only had like one flying class, but it looks INCREDIBLE!" Nortie said rapidly not even really caring if the girl wasn't that interested, Norton's excitement about the day was just bubbling over, it filled his every movement, his every word. He was just inhaling every bit of magic he could see, using it to forget all about everything else. he did wish Gilly was at the game so they could cheer together but he was happy that at least someone had joined him.

It was a new year and after hearing about one of their former Head Boy's death relating to a Quidditch injury, Lennon's fire was fueled so he was ready to protest harder than ever. Perhaps now that one of their own had passed away students would finally care about its dangers. The fourth year made his way up to the stands tiredly, using his wand to float all his posters behind him because there were too many to carry. When he found an empty spot he began to set up his posters, one of which showed Jean Snow's face with a RIP skull imposed over it and it said QUIDDITCH KILLS below it. This was definitely a risky move to do because lots of students might be offended but perhaps this was what he needed to finally get their attention. He was tired of not being taken seriously and death was not something to take lightly. Once the game started, Lennon began passing out pamphlets pointing out the statistics of people likely to die of Quidditch related injuries and gruesome images. Over all the cheering he began to chant, "Down with Quidditch!"

Justin loved a good Quidditch game, and he was nostalgic for the times where e had played the match themself when he had attended the school. He had come to cheer on Ravenclaw, and also keep an eye on the resident Quidditch-hater twins. He didn't have a lot of time to check out the game, however, as he spotted Lennon's latest advertisement, and he immediately summoned the one that had a picture of Jean on the top of it. Luckily Lennon was nearby, and he sighed deeply. His nostrils flaring, he pointed to the exit of the pitch. "My office. NOW." He told him, picking up the rest of his posters as he walked out of the Quidditch Pitch. He sighed deeply, he had been looking forward to seeing his house beat Hufflepuff.

Minerva didn't mind the slight misted rain that fell that morning, she hadn't bothered with a coat as it wasn't really cold, her jumper would keep her as warm as she needed to be. She leaned on the ledge of the stands, watching out over the pitch as the teams came out. The stands had packed up in no time at all and she had braced herself for a squash and a squeeze but thankfully those that did sit beside her didn't over crowd her. She had eyes only for the game, trying to deduce who the players were but as they flew so fast it was very difficult.

The commentator was a relief therefore, as she could hear the names being called when the seeker of her own house was chasing down the snitch. She recognised the names of a few first years and was astounded that they had felt brave enough to try out and that they must have been very good to make the house teams.

Hufflepuff scored and Minerva smiled, gingerly waving her small flag in the air but one of their own had also taken a blow by one of the bludgers. It was watching this that she became distracted by some goings on in the Ravenclaw stands and noticed a boy unraveling what seemed to be a poster. It read Quidditch Kills and Minerva shook her head, well everyone knew there were dangers involved in Quidditch, plenty of players had lost limbs or life over the years but she figured he had a right to protest just as much as others had a right to cheer their team on.

She turned her head back to focus on the game again, watching intently as players flew past in break neck speed. She could feel her heart in her mouth and when the Ravenclaw team scored, Minerva was so wrought with nerves for her own team that she loudly booed the other team. Quickly she clamped a hand over her mouth before then folding her arms and letting her chin rest upon them as she continued to watch the game unfold.

April smiled at Norton, happy to be introduced to him. "I'm April!" She said, watching the game start as she bounced up and down a bit. She was happy to see that Hufflepuff scored first and whooped as loudly as she could. Then she turned to Norton again, her eyes widening when he said he had never seen Quidditch before. "Wow! It must be so fun to see your very first Quidditch game, I'm almost jealous!" She said eagerly. "I love flying, I want to join the team next year." She didn't care if it was unlikely, she wanted it.

She watched the game again, following the quaffle eagerly with her eyes. April winced when the other team scored. She started to boo loudly, giving the other team glares. If Hufflepuff didn't win, she would be very grumpy for the rest of the day.

Professor Kingsley had barely taken note of the the sound of the Knight Twins as they began their usual protest during the quidditch game. It was well within their rights to protest, and she knew why they felt so strongly about such things. Cyndi couldn't say she disagreed, having just been to the memorial of one of her former students, a young man who had attended the school just a few years ago. It was a horrible story, but what was even worse was seeing his face on the poster that Justin had summoned. She wasn't seated far from him, so she'd glanced over as she'd seen him get up with the poster in hand. A sick feeling settled in her stomach as she went to stand up to get rid of the other posters, but Justin seemed to have it under control. The woman settled back into her seat, though she wasn't enjoying the match any longer. Now, she was simply thinking about the tragedy of Jean Snow having lost his life so young, and watching the stands more closely for any other disruptions.

Norton smiled at the girl, April. The boy was smiling brightly at her, "Its nice to meet you!" he told her before tearing his eyes back to the game, he booed heavily when ravenclaw scored but cheered even louder when Hufflepuff managed to score again, "I want to see a profession game so bad after this! But this is amazing!" he told her, and was simply in awe when the girl said that she loved to fly which seemed to imply that she actually knew how to fly, even though they hadn't had many lessons, the boy couldn't help but look at the girl with a small look of awe, "You already know how to fly!" he stated excitedly, "Which of these position would you play? Why didn't you try out this year? I know they say you can't but that ravenclaw keeper is a first year! I'm sure you'd be helping the team!" Nortie smiled at the girl watching the game as Ravenclaw managed to score again. Norton booed even louder than before, he wanted this to be won by hufflepuff so badly! it just had to be, "COME ON HUFFLEPUFF!!" he yelled loudly as they retook possession.

Wand still between her fingers. She watched as the Hufflepuff score not once but twice, getting the lead. Nora could hear her cousin shouting at Caelan and she couldn't agree more. The boy is a newbie and wimpy. Although, she wasn't blaming Caelan for Teagan not playing. Nora already knew who to blame for. When she saw Liam Adams flying around, she stood from her seat but a commotion suddenly made her turned around and a banner that says QUIDDITCH KILLS was on it. "Well, what do you know? They'll see one right now." Nora muttered to herself and turned to face the pitch. She's tired of seeing her cousin frustrated. Nora found her target and raised her wand, and with a precise flick of it, she said the incantation. "Stupefy!" a dash of white streak flew across the field and she immediately hide her wand from inside of her knee high boots.

The professor had found herself watching the stands more than the game, so she spotted the girl at she raised her wand. She was out of her seat, racing to the girl and whipping her own wand out, though it was too late to stop the girl's spell.

Furious didn't even begin to explain the expression on the woman's face as she stopped in front of the girl, her hand out for the girl's wand. It was trembling from her anger. "Get. Up. Now" the woman hissed. Quidditch was dangerous enough, Lennon's posters fresh in her mind to prove that point, and what this girl had just done was beyond unacceptable. "That way. Now" she added, pointing in the direction of the headmistress, ready to frog march her in that direction if she had to.

Hoping no one saw what she did, Nora acted normal and sat back down. Smirking to herself until a Professor blocked her view. Nora's smirked lips changed into something surprised. She was asked to surrender her wand and made her get up. The Slytherin had no choice and narrowed her eyes at the Professor. Nora presented her wand to the Professor and marched out of the Quidditch pitch to the Headmistress' office. It was well worth it. If the boy die, Teagan's better off with someone else witht he same standard as her.

The events happening in the stands that day were somehow more interesting than the quidditch game itself and it was the last thing Jon had expected. First, a ravenclaw boy was lead away by his head of house because he had arrived to protest, flashing offensive propaganda about a previous head boy passing away due to a quidditch injury. Then, a Slytherin girl was being lead away from the stands by Professor Kingsley. Jon was left feeling a mix of surprised and confused at everything that was going on. As he attempted to continue to watch the game he also remained vigilant for any trouble makers, hoping that more drama wouldn't unfold before the game was over.

It was too much to expect Katherine's first Quidditch match in the school to run smoothly. It couldn't simply be a fun, healthy competition between two houses, a day to sit down and enjoy what the school and its students had to offer without any interferences. The game started off easily enough, when surprisingly the first sign of trouble came from the audience on the stands, rather than the players on the pitch itself. A Ravenclaw boy, apparently protesting the match with quite a distasteful poster. The woman didn't have a chance to know the past head boy, but she had read about his fate in the papers. Attempting to use a recent death to ones own benefit was absolutely disgusting. Thankfully, Justin was on the scene before the protestor could cause too much damage, and she trusted he'd serve a fitting punishment.

Turning her attention back to the game once the Ravenclaw had been removed, Katherine continued to watch for barely a minute before a jet of light streaked across her field of view. The Headmistress rose to her feet in an instant. Abusing a recent tragedy was one thing, but attempting to use magic on airborne students was another. She headed quickly in the direction the spell had come from, to be met with Cyndi already bringing the culprit to her attention. A mere first year. What on earth was she thinking? "Thank you, Professor Kingsley. I'll take her from here. Try to enjoy the rest of the match." The ancient runes professor appeared visibly angry. Whether that had any correlation to the recent posters, she didn't ask. "Come, my office. Let's have a little chat." Katherine's tone made it clear that it was going to be far from a small chat as she lead the small girl away from the pitch, away from posing any further danger to its players. The Headmistress had known her position would not be an easy one, but this was getting ridiculous. It was only just over a month into the school year. Someone needed to be made an example of.

Minerva had been watching the state of play, her mind imagining streaks of light forming behind each broom as it made its way across the sky. A spin was done and Minerva's keen mind threw up an equation in her head calculating the velocity and turning point, the wind force and ... then it seemed that some more commotion was occurring in the stands. She turned her head and saw Professor Kingsley and the Professor Alicastell, the headmistress make their way to a dark haired girl. Shaking her head, Minerva wondered at what had happened this time and saw the girls wand being handed over.

Had she tried to cast a spell? Minerva recognised her as a first year because she had seen her sitting on the chair for the sorting, so what sort of spell would she have tried to cast? None would have been very strong unless she'd been practicing unknown to everyone and anyone; what did her book say though ... it was the intent behind the spell which made it all the more powerful. Minerva figured in that moment that what with protestors and castors brandishing wands and posters in the stands, maybe the pitch was the safest place to be instead of the stands.

That was not a pleasant thought and wiping a little misted rain from her cheeks, she stood up and wound her way through the people nearby so she could get to the stairs and make her way down. She would find out how Hufflepuff did when they all got back to the common room but she wasn't going to risk life and limb in the stands to watch the game though.

Clementine was a little worried because she was trying to concentrate on the game with Anthony playing, but her attention kept being drawn back to the stands. At one point she had turned back around to focus on the game just to see Anthony get hit with the bludger again pretty badly. Clementine winced and hoped he was okay. The game was getting good and the crowd even rowdier, so she hoped it would be over soon for his sake. Thankfully, Anthony caught the Snitch soon after and Clementine was so surprised and ecstatic. She jumped up and down in the stands, cheering for her house and for Anthony. She couldn't believe he had done it and she was so proud of him, she couldn't wait to congratulate him when she saw him next.

April smiled brightly in return to Norton's smile at her. "It's nice to meet you too!" She told him. She laughed at his desire to see a professional game, she didn't really agree. "It would be nice to see a professional game, but this way we get to support the house we are a part of! That's more incredible, isn't it?"

His amazement at her knowing how to fly made her grin even more. "I do know how to fly, but I'm not really good yet." His comment about the Ravenclaw keeper made her frown, though. She hadn't known that part. He was now the special first year player, maybe that could have been her instead.

Her brief flare of annoyance left her fairly quickly as she focused on the game again, getting into supporting her team. She shouted along with Norton, waving her arms in the air. When the seeker grabbed the snitch she completely forgot about the Ravenclaw keeper. She was yelling and jumping up and down in her enthusiasm. They had won! She was part of the winning house!

Sofia was planning on look at the Quidditch Game today. Not that she liked Quidditch she actually hated it, but was curious about the outcoming result and secretly she was hoping there would be some cute boys looking and at a Quidditch Game there were a lot of boys so the girl made her way to the Stands. As the game was playing she looked at the different people around her and noticed after a while a boy with some posters and when she tried to look at what it said she was a bit suprised. It saids Quidditch Kills and she couldn't agree more she known and saw it happening with her mother. Gabriel thought about it different but it was the truth. She directly felt some connection with the boy and he was also cute so that was perfect. She hoped to catch his name but as he started to cheer that Quidditch had to be down he had to go with a Professor. '' I AGREE WITH YOU!!'' the blonde shouted in the direction of the boy with the poster and hoped he would catch it. There was really something happening at this game since a young girl thought it would be nice to fire some spells at people. What the hell was going on? What a stupid girl that was, Sofia hated girls so much and this was another stupid action of one. Not very much longer the game was ending and Hufflepuff had won, not that it interested Sofia that much but she wouldn't forget about that boy with the poster. Perhaps she could help him with his campagne.
