The Stands

Last year, Celia had invested an inordinate amount of time into trying to make sure Slytherin won the cup. She'd spied on the other teams, solicited donations from alumni, invented new practice strategies, and spent hours poring over old Quidditch stories in the Monthly. And then she'd watched all her hard work go down the drain during the first game when Ivelisse failed to do her one job. Well Celia had learned her lesson. She wasn't going to waste her precious time on a goal that was almost entirely dependent on an unreliable seeker with a bad attitude.

Still, old habits died hard, and it would've been stupid not to scout out the other teams during the first match of the year. Celia also knew her own team would be relying on her for intel and strategies, and she did admittedly feel some level of responsibility towards them. So Celia had arrived early to the stands, notebook and quill in hand. With Isaiah gone, she couldn't say she was expecting much from this game, and she'd accordingly worn black — to mourn the death of good Quidditch. But maybe someone would surprise her. Celia cracked open her notebook and started to copy down the lineups as she waited for the game to start.

Emery hated Quidditch and he hated being here, but here he was. His best friend was now seeker on the Gryffindor team, and while Emery pretended not to even have noticed, he was obviously here to support him. Though ideally, Rāwhiti would never know. He demonstratively put a book in front of his face as the game began, peeking over the pages.

Milo hadn't been able to get in on tryouts this year but he was more than ready for the first Quidditch match of the year. He'd gone to as many Woolongong Warriors games as he could convince his parents to take him to but that had nothing on just being able to walk across the grounds and into the stands here. Of course, he doubted anyone would be playing as well as the Warriors did, but it was still exciting as he grabbed his seat.

"Oh wow, that 'Claw player looks like she might puke, look," he said with a laugh to the guy next to him, leaning forward to get a better view of the players as they kicked off before realizing the boy he was talking to had buried his face in a book and wasn't even watching. Why even bother showing up, Milo wondered furiously. "Hell yeah, Gryffindor is on the scoreboard, I think the Claw keeper is still waking up, I don't think she even had a chance to move on that goal," he added, checking the book guy again to see if he was paying attention, distracted momentarily as Ravenclaw managed their own goal. "Man, stupid, he should have aimed for the other hoop, obviously. It was wide open," Milo chided, happy to keep up his match narration to book guy as Gryffindor managed to miss another goal. "C'mon, beaters! You too, pay attention!" He called when their seeker took two hits in a row. Was everyone out there sleeping on their brooms? Milo was sure if he'd been up there he could have seen everything coming from a mile away. @Emery Mettlestone

Veronique was excited to actually have gotten her homework done so she could join her teammates and friends to watch the first quidditch game of the season. She knew that her first game would be difficult, playing against Slytherin, and since many of the people on that team scared her, she wanted to at least get one enjoyable experience in this semester. She took a seat near the back of the stands so she could get a good view of the entire field and kept her eye on the seekers as the game started. It was relatively slow at first, but she clapped for both teams as they scored, not feeling partial to one house or the other.

Emery's book had mainly been a pretense, he did have an anti-Quidditch reputation to uphold. But when a boy started chattering nearby, Emery kind of wished he hadn't bothered to bring one. "Can you shut up?" He finally snapped at the boy. "I don't care about Quidditch." He said, gesturing to his book. He had seen Rāwhiti get hit by a bludger and winced when he got hit again. "Can you go find some friends to talk to instead?" He asked the boy distractedly. He was concerned for his friend, it wasn't looking good. When he got hit for a third time, Emery abruptly got up, snapping his book shut. Without another word to the annoying first year, Emery made his way out of the stands as quickly as he could. He hoped Savannah wouldn't play, because he wouldn't be here to see it, as he knew he had to go to Rāwhiti now.

"But you're missing the game," Milo emphasized, motioning pointedly out towards the pitch. "What are you even doing here then, that's just-" he started, unable to fathom firstly why anyone wouldn't like Quidditch and secondly why they'd bother coming out to a game if they didn't, but he was cut off as the Gryffindor seeker continued taking hits, the last one looking bad enough to really hurt. "Oh come on, is our seeker just sitting there so they can hit him easier? Evasive movements! And where's our beaters?? Defense!! Oh he's hurt-" Milo yelled, slowing when he realized the ref was pausing the game and blinking in confusion as the book guy suddenly left. Maybe he'd annoyed him out of the stands? Good.

The game had barely got back going again, not without the teams trading goals and another hit on the Gryffindor seeker (Milo had a few choice words for the ref about that one, had they even checked to see if Ravenclaw had tampered with these bludgers?) before the Claw seeker put on a sudden burst of speed. Milo was out of his seat as he noticed, hoping someone would stop him before dropping back into his seat with a groan. What a rubbish game, Ravenclaw clearly had just gotten super lucky.

This had to be the stupidest match Celia had ever seen. The chasers on both teams were an absolute disaster, and the beaters weren't much better. She wished she was up in the air, sure that she could have knocked out at least three people by now. Why was it that every team except Slytherin got to play actual, full-length games? Things picked up slightly when Ravenclaw's beaters finally got their sh*t together and managed to send Rāwhiti to the hospital wing. Celia had pretty much written Michael and Monday off, but it was clear that they'd improved since last year. She made a few notes in her notebook, glancing up when Hamish caught the snitch. She paused, considering this outcome. Having Ivelisse face off against an older seeker and two not-terrible beaters wasn't ideal, but at least Celia knew she could knock Hamish out. She'd done it twice before. And if they had to play Gryffindor, well, at least it would be fun. Celia was pretty sure she could wreck half the team before anyone even managed a goal. Shutting her notebook with a decisive thump, Celia decided this was the best possible outcome. She was glad she'd dragged herself out to this match.

There were many shades of blue. The delicate egg shell blue. The mysterious teal, sky blue full of promises. And midnight blue filled with secrets. Years ago she had been told that beaubattons blue would have suited her. But today the blue that mattered was Ravenclaw blue. Sky dressed in the rich blue of the house she was pretty sure she would belong in if she wasn’t in hufflepuff.
She climbed up to the stands and found a seat next to Giulia. you’re in red” she said something between a question and a statement. [do you want to swap gloves or something[/b] she said thinking it would be nice to support both houses if Giulia was supporting Gryffindor. ready to cheer she said as they got ready and the players mounted their brooms.
She cheered as they get into the air. And as gryffindor for the quaffle. And as each te scored. She oohed as the gryffondor seeker got hit out wondering if he was okay. She watched over the edge of the stand as the nurse came to tend to him and then the game was back. She watched and cheered players. Cheering as the small Ravenclaw who couldn’t be more than a second year and looked either ill or terrified scored. It was then that the crowd erupted, even more than was usual for a goal. she started cheering even before she saw who had caught the snitch. Ravenclaw. Blue won. She reached out for geulia jumping up and down with excitement.

Senna hadn't gathered much interest from other students for her club yet, but that didn't particularly matter. She was still keen on watching the season unfold and talking to her friends about it. Sen had made sure to get to the pitch on time and claim a good seat, mostly because Slytherin versus Hufflepuff games were always super interesting. Admittedly, she didn't feel the same excitement she did wen Gryffindor player because she didn't really care who won but she was keen to see what would be going down.

Marley had been interested in what the quidditch games were like at school. As she did flying lessons for a while and she was enjoying her classes, the idea of quidditch had peaked her interest a little. She decided to go to the Hufflepuff vs Slytherin game today to see what it was like. Who knows, maybe she was going to try out next year, but she wanted to see how the game went.

Marley decided to go in yellow attire to support her house. Her hair was in pigtails with yellow bows, as well as streaks of yellow and black on her cheeks. The girl hurriedly made her way to the stands, grateful that she had made it on time and was able to find a seat.

Joshua had been a bit bummed that Gryffindor hadn't made it up there, but he guessed it was okay. He decided to watch the game between Ravenclaw and Slytherin anyway because he enjoyed Quidditch anyway. He wasn't particularly rooting for any certain team, though, but he couldn't wait to see what the turnout of the game was going to be like anyway. Josh was one of the first of many to turn up at the stands, though he didn't see anyone he knew arrive just yet, so he decided to take a seat closer to the front of the stands as he waited for the game to begin.

Marley had only turned up to a game or two this year, but she really liked the idea of quidditch. She thought maybe it wouldn't hurt even to try out next year, but she wasn't particularly sure what position she wanted to try out for just yet. However, she didn't need to think about that right now. Even though her house hadn't made it to the top, she still wanted to see how this game went. When Marley arrived at the stands, she decided to take a seat in one of the middle rows. She looked around the stands to see if there were any familiar faces as she waited for the game to begin.
