It was strangely warm in the castle, maybe it was her thick robes or maybe it was all the candles floating about the hall. Margot was feeling a bit over-heated and uncomfortable, but she wasn't in the mood to whine. She admired all the painting along the walls, and the different embroidery on the other students' robes. Margot gently pulled at the collar of her shirt, straightening her tie. She laced her fingers together, resting her hands against her pleated skirt. Margot looked about, trying to take a look at everybody's faces, maybe overhear a name or two. She was near the front of the group, not overly eager to socialize yet.

After the unsorted students gotead into the Great Hall Professor King introduced herself, and started her welcoming speech. Margot listened intently, knowing she wouldn't the next six years. She looked around at the different students at the four separate tables. The Sorting Hat started to sing and Margot didn't really catch any of the lyrics, she just watched it's mouth move and listened to the voice. Professor King started calling out names, alphabetically. One by one students began to walk towards the stool. "Castle, Margot!" Her head snapped toward the hat upon hearing her name, and Margot walked steadily towards the stool. Margot Nora Castle, you cannot mess this up! she thought sternly to herself. She sat down, and the hat was placed upon her head. "Okay, I don't know what to do up here. I'm sorry! I'm probably taking tons of time." She blushed, and closed her eyes.

"Gryffindor!".

Hilton Tiwari was barely able to get all of her things for this school. She did not think she was allotted the proper amount of galleons, or it was because she bought five times two of everything on her list. This was herself she was talking about. Knowing herself, she would lose her books several times during the year. She also bought a few other things that were not on the list. She bought some pretty jewelry and a couple of books she did not know anything about. She was going to have some difficulty because the books were in English. Her English was a bit broken. It was half her fault and not her fault. She was able to strange things, so everyone thought she was cursed. But, it was ultimately her father's decision to not send her back after leaving India. Now, Hilton was going to be able to learn lots of new things. She was still worried about the magic part. But, she was sure there was going to be some math or something. Right?

"Tiwari, Hilton!"

Hilton was called by the beautiful headmistress. The woman's hair was interesting. Hilton would never do her hair that way. It was too funny! The small girl walked up to the stool, and she sat down. It was also funny to her that she was placing her fate in a hat. A hat. It was like not going to work and hoping the bills somehow get paid. She was trying to be understanding of the wizarding culture. It was just all so ridiculous. She lived her whole life believing she was cursed. Hilton guessed she was somehow supposed to suddenly changed how she felt about herself. It was not going to happen so quickly. The hat needed to give her a house that would have to prove to her she was not a mistake. That was a huge burden to bare. And, it was all up to a hat..

James excitedly walks into the Great Hall, He is very amaze on how beautiful the hogwarts is. He prepared for this moment to happen, he is very excited to be sorted and to start learning magic. He watched as the other first years walked up to the stall, after having their names called, and having the Sorting Hat placed on their head. And it was his turn.

"James Gustin"

He slowly walked up to the sorting hat. He looked at all other students. Staring at him, wondering what house will he be in. He took a deep breath and waited for the sorting hat's verdict. .

The day finally came and Jeon Taejun was psyched. Not. He felt as if he was just being sent away on some vacation in an old castle because his parents finally got tired of him. "Goodbye son. See you in a few months." His eomma had told him earlier upon dropping him off on Hogwarts Express. Taejun gave her a fake smile in return and headed off but on the inside, he presumed that her words really meant "Finally you'll be gone from our lives." only sugarcoated. Taejun readjusted his robe uncomfortably as he waited along with the other unsorted students outside a huge wooden door. Truth be told, he was impressed on how Hogwarts looked even if he was still outside. It was ginormous and looked as if it had a million secrets waiting to be revealed (although for some reasons, he felt that that was actually true.) It was even bigger than their Muggle company back in Daegu. Taejun fought the urge to run away and explore the castle at once. Just when he couldn't take it, a woman with black hair approached them and finally they went inside.

His jet black eyes widen in awe as he set foot inside the Great Hall. Floating candles, long tables and large piles of food everywhere! Taejun immediately got the impression that he would certainly be enjoying this devious vacation. He was so distracted from everything he forgot to stuck out his feet so that a fellow unsorted student would trip, which was a plan his young and bored mind formed a couple of minutes ago. Reaching the end of the isle, the students stopped walking and turned all their attention to the woman in front who Taejun presumed was their principal/headmistress person. She spoke some words that sounded gibberish to the distracted Taejun. He honestly couldn't care less on what the lady was saying. He was sure he'd get the instinct on everything later on. After the woman's speech, an old, ugly hat appeared out of the nowhere (or maybe Taejun just wasn't paying attention) and sang a really icky song. Taejun had to cover his ears but the Hat's old, grampa-ish voice pierced him and he had a feeling it would show up in tonight's set of nightmares.

The sorting finally began when the woman started calling out names. One by one, the children came up in front as the woman lowered the Hat unto their heads. As cool and icky as it might be, Taejun hardly payed attention as he was eyeing all the lovely food set seductively on the long tables surrounding him. He turned his gaze back at the Hat and looked at it in a way like he was sending it telepathic messages to hurry up and sort him so he could eat. And after a few minutes, the woman finally called his name.

"Jeon, Taejun!"

Taejun bit his lip and walked towards the center where the stool waited for him peacefully. He sat and the Hat was lowered onto his head. "Hurry up, old Hat. I'm hungry." He mumbled as he waited for the Hat's verdict..

As soon as Fiona entered the Great Hall, she was torn between marveling at the scene before her or looking indifferent. In entirety, she was used to seeing magic all her life. She grew in the presence of magic, but certainly not in this big of a caliber. Mostly, she had seen magic performed in mundane tasks and such, but not with the decoration of a room this huge. It certainly amazed her to a degree, and seeing as most of the first years around her were in awe at the scene, she decided that it was nice to have freedom within the castle. Besides, there were very little from her family around that would tell her what to do. And so, deciding that a little splurge of energy couldn't hurt anybody, she began idle talk with the others around her about how awesome everything was around her, from the size of the room to the splendid decorations. The group had stopped in front of what seemed to be a podium of sorts and what she assumed to be the sorting hat. She had heard of it from her other family members, and she was pretty much nervous and excited about this. Well, it seemed as if she had to wait awhile, though she didn't mind watching the rest go through with the ceremony.

"Smith, Fiona."

Her name reverberated along the walls of the room and didn't take seconds for her nerves to catch up to her. Sure she was excited, but that didn't help the nerves. What if she got sorted wrong and whatnots? She supposed she would be fine throughout, as long as they don't compare her much to her siblings. She really hated that after all. Taking a deep breath in an attempt to calm herself, she walked up to the stool and the sorting hat. She really didn't know how to go about this whole process as the sorting hat was placed on her head. Was she supposed to say something cause she wasn't really sure if people talked to him. It. Him. Whatever the sorting hat was. Through all her jumbled thoughts, all she could manage to say during the wait was, "Uh. Hi," with a meek smile.

Kaylee Chase has been looking forward to this day. She entered the Great Hall with a big smile on her face as she walks along with her fellow first years.

Later on, her name was finally called for sorting.

"Kaylee Chase!"

Her mind would not process well, and her heart was beating so fast. But she knew everything would be okay. She put on a brave face and sat on the stool as the sorting hat was put on her head. .

Felix looked up into the crowd of people as they walked into the Great Hall. He was finding all of this rather enjoyable. If he was honest, just being in this room was making him excited. He loved people and he was looking forward to all the new friends he could make. A girl tripped beside him and though he reached out to grab her and stop her from falling, he laughed so hard that he nearly dropped her again. Apologising profusely, and maybe a little insincerely, Felix regained his already faulty composure and continued down the line to meet in front of the sorting hat. He was lucky to have asked Finn about it and so he knew that this was a magic hat and that it sorted people. Though admittedly he couldn't be sure of whether or not his brother was playing tricks on him. He certainly hoped not. He would like to think that what Finn said about this hat was true. When it started singing though, Felix couldn't help but to laugh. It was all so utterly ridiculous that he must have been dreaming. Either way, this was all so cool, he wanted to make sure that he didn't miss even a moment of any of it!

"Urie, Felix"

Falon went first and was sorted into her house. Felix couldn't wait for his turn. When his name was called he turned to his siblings and gave them both a huge thumbs up with a grin before snickering the whole way to the stool. The hat looked funny, the students all looked silly listening to a hat and most of all he must have looked like a complete twit, walking up to a stool with a talking hat ready to go in his head and tell him where he was supposed to spend the next seven years of his life. Was he allowed to request a resort? He had no idea, but he certainly hope so. As he sat on the stool, Felix began to laugh quietly trying to hold it in but failing. He could see this was going to be a great start to the year.

Sylvester was very excited to arrive at school at long last. Ever since he received his letter, he had been counting down the days. No one in his family was magical, so it was a great surprise to find out the world was much more magical than he previously believed. A professor ushered him along with the other first years to a set of doors. Beyond the doors he could hear a lot of talking, the other students he presumed. He had no idea what to expect, as no one had told him what happened on the first day there.

Along with the others, he filed into the Great Hall and looked out towards the rest of the students like a deer in headlights. He surely was not expecting being in front of this many people right off the bat. A professor calmed them all down and started talking about the sorting they would be taking part in. It didn't look so bad, he thought. All that seemed they needed to do was sit down and wear a hat. He knew it would be awhile since his last name started with a V, so he took to looking around the hall at the vast ceiling and the staff at the head table.

"Valerio, Sylvester," said the professor who was calling up the students. He jumped a bit as he snapped back into reality and walked up to the stool. Sylvester sat down, facing the student body, and couldn't make a single face out in the crowd. Right now all he could see was a big blur as everyone sat in anticipation to see where he would be sorted. He felt the hat drop onto his head and waited to hear which house he would be spending the next 7 years with. Sylvester hoped that whichever house he got in, he would make his sisters proud..

Calix was in the middle of a variety of students, being confident and all.But she's still a bit nervous of course. She just held her head high and hoped for the best. She spotted someone who is quite familiar to her, actually she know a bunch of students here but this one kinda intrigued her. She slowly approached the girl but then suddenly her name was called. "Triking, Calix."

She gathered her composure and nodded to a few people who was ogling at her. As she step towards the rugged, old Sorting hat, she didn't forgot her courtesy "Good Day Mr. Hat" She then sat on the chair and waited as the hat was put on her head. She cleared let her imagination flow, curious if it will affect the verdict. "Let's get started!" She said out loud.

Florence stood silently in the Great Hall, tugging on the sleeves of her robes. She felt a little uncomfortable with all these people, being in her space. She was as far away from Fiona as she could possibly manage, seeing as her sister had yelled at her just moments before. She would have to steal her clothes, or switch the food on her plate later for that. He stood near the back, as far from others as she could managed without appearing odd, and kept to herself. Her last name started with S, which meant that it would be a while before she was called. There were probably others worse off them her, naturally. She wanted to get this over with quickly, yet she didn't want to be called up. It was all too public for her. Why this couldn't be done in private or something, she would never understand.

Fiona was called, and sorted. When her sister was up there, Florence herself began moving through the crowd, knowing that she would be next. Once at the front, and waving at her newly sorted sister for a moment, she listened for her name. Once called, she climbing the stairs, and sat on the stool. By time the hat was on her head, she was already getting ready to jump off and run to whatever house she was in. Hopefully it would be with her sister. The two fought on occasion, but at least she knew her. "Please, please let's get this done quickly."

There was too much excitement in the air, but there was not an ounce on Vesta Zhefarovich's face. She did not want to be here in the middle of a crowd. She hated being around people, but she could not help it. She needed to get sorted. Then she was going to have to sit with a group of other students. For now, she had to brace herself. She watched as student after student headed up to the podium to be sorted. Before long, it would be her turn. She watched as her brother was sorted into Hufflepuff, and then she heard her name called. Taking a deep breath, she walked up to the podium and sat down. She felt the hat upon her blonde hair, before she held her breath and closed her eyes. She could not face everyone right now. Instead, she imagined she was in her favorite book. Best way to pass the time.

Falon was feeling nervous. She didn't feel nervous very often, and usually loved challenges and adventures, but this was the first time she was away from her mom for more than a week. Falon had her brothers, but they were no where near as comforting as her mother. There were often times she even wished she was an only child, but those were only for a couple of seconds; she really did love her brothers and knew that their pranks and teasing were out of love.
The brunette supposed that anyone who wasn't feeling nervous was very silly. This situation was completely out of their control, they didn't know what House they were going to be placed into, and Falon didn't even know much about the Houses, apart from what her brother said, but apparently, Gryffindor was the be all and end all. But, she knew that Finn would have said that about any House he was placed in. Still, Falon didn't want to be away from her brothers, especially Felix. She held onto his hand as they entered the spectacular Hall, her brain not fully comprehending everything she was seeing. How was this not some prank?!
Her name was called before Felix, so, with a squeeze of his hand, she made her way up to the stool, awaiting the destiny that was going to be chosen for her..

A group of students who have previously attended Hogwarts passed Geoff as he walked into the great hall. He couldn't necessarily tell what year everyone was, but he could tell who was about his age. It was his first time being here, and the size of the place was breathtaking. Geoff's eyes couldn't help but wander as paintings bigger than he told their scene. The hall filled up more and more as the seconds past. Snapping back to reality, Geoff scanned the tables for a place to sit. Being a little embarrsessed from his moment of gawking, he sat quickly at a table filled with green trimmed robes. Of all the tables, he really didn't prefer this one due to the stereotypes that followed. He thought of switching for a moment, but noticed the tables were quickly filling up and thus remained. Besides the few stragglers rushing to find a seat, everyone had finally came. Moments after, the headmaster was standing behind the podium. Alongside being the Sorting Hat. Geoff's eyes were fixated on the hat as the headmaster gave the welcome speech.
Presently, names began to be called. Instead of focusing on the hat, he watched different girls and boys go up to receive their fate. Geoff felt slightly anxious in anticipation for his turn. Although he had no preference for being sorted, he couldn't help but wonder--what was his fate?
Suddenly, "Randon...Geoff." boomed from the Sorting Hat's mouth. Time slowed down increasingly as his eyes met the hat's. It felt like everyone else slowed down as well. Time almost stood still. It was his turn. With time still slowed down, he arose from his table. He made no eye-contact with anybody, however kept his eyes with the hat's. Finally, he made it to the chair where he sat down. Then, as fast as it slowed down, time returned back to tempo. His eyes darted from person to person, his expression did not change.
The hat was placed upon his head and the anticipation swirled Geoff's stomach. What would it be? The house of Godric, Helga, Rowena, or Salazar?.

James had grown up receiving vivid descriptions of the Hogwarts New Zealand castle so as he was led through the entrance hall along with the other first years he felt like he had already been there before. He could barely believe that he was finally walking the halls of the school himself after hearing about it for so long. The sounds of excitement increased as the doors to the Great hall opened and they were led inside to just in front of the staff table. That was when the first years fell silent and one by one their names were read off to sit on a stool and get sorted. James had heard all about the sorting hat from his parents, it had led to him spending his whole life wondering which house he would be sorted into. His mother had been a Gryffindor and his father a Hufflepuff. He honestly didn't have a preference he just really wanted to know where he belonged. The curiosity had eaten at him for years and it wasn't long before it was his turn to find out, "Cade, James," The Professor with the list called out and James stepped up to the stool. He was a little nervous which was unusual for James but it was mostly out of anticipation. It was his moment of truth, he closed his eyes at the hat was placed on his head. James opened his eyes and awaited his judgement..

YES. They've called my name. I finally get to be sorted. I still don't really know what any of it means. What it means to be "Gryffindor" versus "Slytherin" versus "Hufflepuff" versus "Ravenclaw." But I want to. I just want to get on with it so I can go to my house and start learning what it means to be sorted into one house over another. I want to learn about wizardy stuff. Most of all, I want to get through this so I can explore. From the looks of it, this castle is massive, and its grounds are too. I bet they have trap doors and secret hallways behind bookshelves. I can't wait. Man, it takes a lot longer to get up to this stage thingy than you'd think. I sit down on the stool and look out at the crowd before me. Everyone looks so funny wearing their funny robes. The Great Hall looks a lot longer from up here. I wonder how many students there are? I wonder how many are from "muggle" families like me? I look at the banners above each house table. I wonder which house I'm in? What colors will I be sporting for the next 7 years of my life? Or longer, if it's anything like universities in the muggle world. Hopefully not Ravenclaw. I don't think I'd look good in blue and grey. Maybe green and silver. Or red and gold. I look good in red. But yellow and black? They look like a sea of bumble bees. I wonder how the houses came about in the first place? Man I'm hungry. I hope they bring out the food soon..

The castle glimmered in the moonlight as Charlotte sailed across in the wooden boats that led to it. It was getting bigger and bigger and Charlotte knew that this was going to be really fun to explore. Looking down at the water below she wondered what laid beneath. It only added to all the questions in her head. How big really was this castle? What was the sorting going to be like? How big were the dormitories? The questions were never ending.

As they entered the great hall, it was much bigger than expected. Floating candles were above their heads and every student sat at four long tables that indicated their house. They were all watching as the new first years walked up to the front of the room to begin their journey of a lifetime. All this attention felt great.

When the sorting began, Charlotte took a big sigh of relief that they didn't have to do anything spontaneous in front of all these people. All you had to do was sit on a stool as a dusty old hat was placed on your head. It then screamed out your house and you had to go sit with your new housemates. Charlotte's parents had kept the way sorting works as a secret ever since Charlotte was born. Why couldn't they just tell her? It worried Charlotte up until this day.

Just as Charlotte started to get a bit restless, her name was finally called out. She skipped onto the podium and sat on the stool as the professor put the hat on her head. This moment could determine the rest of her life and inside she secretly hoped that she wouldn't get Slytherin..

Jezebel grinned broadly as her name was called. She had spiraled her purple locks into tight curls down her back, and had pinned sunflowers to her head in a halo shape. She could not be more excited about this day. She eagerly hurried to the stool at the head of the room and sat down twiddling her thumbs impatiently as the hat was lowered into her head. She chuckled. Many hats has sat on Jezebel's head, but one that was alive had definitely not. She wondere if it would tickle as the hat lowered on her head. Put me somewhere where I can get along well with others. Shw asked the hat as she looked out over the crowd of students..

May was so very nervous, she didn't know what to do with herself. She scanned the group looking for Charlotte, who she had met while buying school supplies, but May couldn't find her. I can't believe how large the castle is, it's actually a castle! Looking up she smiled at the floating candles, May was in awe of the architecture and the detail of everything. It puts home to shame, even though it's a really nice house. May rolled her sleeves twice, does this look cuter? May was getting a bit restless. Can I send mail? Mum, and Dad will surely want to see this someday! May needed to walk around, her legs were starting to lose any type of feeling. How much longer will it be? I really want to go visit the gardens! When Professor King came out May's nerves came back, she didn't hear a word that came out of the lady's mouth. Suddenly the group walked into the Great Hall.

Standing in a clump May looked around, she loved the ceiling, Can I do that to my bedroom? May bit her lip, she had so many questions. She listened to the hat's song, giggling a bit at the fact that the hat was singing. Slowly, one student at a time went to the front. They would sit on the stool and have the hat placed on their head. May felt like she was going to pass out, her nerves had been building with each sorted student. "Fairfax, May." May held her breath as she heard her name being called. At least I'm going to have a lot of talking time at Christmas dinner, she thought while walking towards the hat. Sitting down she held her hands in her lap, "Can I tell my older sister about this?" she asked, grinning, "because, she isn't magical. Did you know?" May tilted her head to the left..

Imogen was incredibly excited. She was standing with her twin, Lawrence, bobbing up and down on the spot. She felt like the day was taking forever. The blonde had enjoyed the train ride, and the boat ride into the school; it was majestic. And the Hall looked magnificent too, especially with all the candles floating. But the tall girl was anxious to get the sorting done. Imogen knew how it was supposed to go, and she had read up on the Houses, but she didn't mind where she went. It was just the waiting that made her impatient. She was excited to meet her new friends, eat the good food and sleep in what she hoped to be an amazing bed.
It took some time for her and Lawrence's name to be called, and Imo was still bouncing with excitement. It finally came to their turn, and Imogen got to go first. She withheld a squeak when her name was called, and she rushed to the stool quickly. She closed her eyes as the Hat was placed on her head, her heart thumping..

Lawrence stood at the back of the hall with his sister, Imogen. He was so glad that he wasn't doing this alone - and nor would their siblings. They had each other, at least, for now and always. She seemed rather comfortable - excited, even. Lawrence, however, was silent the entire time, unless directly asked a quested by his sister. He would not describe himself as a particularly nervous type, but he found himself captivated by it all. The candles, the ceiling, the students (all of which they towered over), the professors, the hat - it was all beginning to weigh upon him. He was scared, and feeling homesick. It became worse as names were called, slowly trickling down to his own. Would they use the Von? Would he have less time if they chose to just pack them with the K's instead? His large heart slammed against his chest as his sister gallivanted up to the stool that felt like it was making life or death decisions.

With palms now sweaty, his own name rang through his ears and he too, approached the stool. He tucked his hair behind his ears, and tried to remain positive and calm. There was no point in looking as scared as he felt, and it was time to try and take a page out of Imogen's book and have some fun. He tried to discard the metaphorical boulders weighing him down and closed his eyes as the hat was placed on his head..

She'd heard millions of stories about this moment; of walking up to a stool and being "placed", yet Kimmyeon had always doubted each one and thought perhaps they'd been lying. Her family had been split and torn in so many directions that Kimmyeon didn't even know what was expected of her anymore. As long as she was placed in a house that the magical world thought her suitable, she would try to make the best of it.

Her mother had been in Slytherin - Perfect for someone so sly and dishonest. She'd been so wrapped up in her own perfect lifestyle that she hadn't even noticed her family falling apart. Kimmyeon didn't feel like she was a part of her mother, nor her cousin Lykke; An Ex-Slytherin turned Scitorari. Surely anyone destined for Slytherin would turn out for the worst. On the other hand, she thought that her father position in Gryffindor was totally wrong. He'd spent most of his life running from his problems and creating more turmoil as he went. Her cousin Keira's smart brain had gotten her a place in Ravenclaw, and while Kimmyeon considered being around those who's primary objective was to read and write, she couldn't help but wonder if they had any exploration traits among them. Finally there was Hufflepuff, though how could a girl like Kimmyeon be placed in a house so kind and nurturing, when deep down inside she was out to expose everyone around her?

As her name was called, she moved through the crowd and stepped up the stone stairs, turning to face the beady faces of elder students. She didn't know them, and they didn't know her - And that's just how she planned to keep it..

Hemi was awoken from his sleep as the train pulled up at the station. He looked out the window but saw only the outline of a station as it had since turned dark. He quickly started to collect up his things and disembarked the train. It was chaos, students walking in all directions and Hemi had no idea who to follow.

"First Years this way!" Hemi heard echo from the corner of the platform. That was him! He's a first year. He followed the voice and joined a large group of children his age gathered around a teacher. They were escorted to some boats were they were introduced to the magnificent castle which they would be studying in. Hemi couldn't believe his eyes, the magical world amazed him everyday.

Before long the first years, among them Hemi, arrived at a stool, placed on top was a hat. He assumed that they would all be wearing the hat because... well, it was a hat!

One by one they were instructed to step forward and put on the Sorting Hat as Hemi had predicted, and wait for a house to be called. The mob of first years quickly started to deplete and Hemi was one of the few left unsorted.

"Te Rua, Hemi"

This was it. Hemi stepped forward to be sorted!.

Isabelle loved every single thing about New Zealand from the moment she had moved here with her father when she was six years old. Of course back then she had no idea she was a witch, just like her mother. She could've easily been a muggle like her father. But this small, yet crucial piece of information made her feel even closer to her mother like she had never been before. She was very close to her dad, that she knew. But since her mother had passed away Izzy had always tried to imagine what she could have been like. Her dad had said that Anna - her mom - was wonderful and full of mysteries, and Isabelle was curious as any girl who didn't even remember her mother should be. But now, she was here at Hogwarts and it was time to move on, although Isabelle had to admit she was a little scared to do so. Thankfully learning about this magical place would be enough for Izzy - enough of a distraction, that is.

As soon as she saw the Great Hall, Isabelle Marie's eyes widened in wonder. Was that the ceiling? Incredible. Soon afterwards something else caught her eye and she was easily distracted from the ceiling. Now her attention was on the stool in front of the Hall, but not specifically the stool itself. More like the actual thing on the stool - was that a hat? Wait, a hat was going to sort the first years? Isabelle grinned to herself. She couldn't wait to see what house she would get sorted in! She had read - admittedly - about the four Hogwarts houses as well as had a talk about them with her father who described them to her through her mother's eyes. Of course him being a muggle didn't make him actually know how it was like, the sorting, but it was still nice to hear it from someone else. Isabelle Marie barely even noticed all the gazes on her, she was too transfixed on the hat. Especially after it started to talk. It was truly an amazing sight to see. Looking around at the other first years, she saw nervous glances at the Hat and around the Great Hall; however her attention was on another girl who probably had the same expression on her face that Izzy had. A giggle escaped her lips and she quickly covered her mouth with her hand, not wanting to interrupt the sorting hat as names were being called out.

Finally, it was her turn. "Marie, Isabelle!". The young girl walked up to the stool and sat on it, waiting to get sorted into her house. Her eyes were bright and her mind was racing with all sorts of things she would do once school started. Things she needed to get out of the way first. She willed her mind to stop thinking so much, and when it did moments later, smiled brightly at all the pairs of student eyes fixed on her. Her view was met with darkness however when the hat got placed onto her head. Isabelle Marie waited..

Ruben Hayes liked to keep things simple. She disliked anything that would make her exert more energy and more work than necessary so she always kept her activity and words to a minimum. It was better to just watch and observe people from afar, trying to decipher their deepest thoughts and emotions. It had been a game of sorts for her, and honestly it was the most entertaining task that she could find aside from reading. But then again, to her, reading require utmost silence and concentration. As observation may lack the latter. But sadly, tonight was not a night for one as she stood within the Great Hall of her new school for the next seven years. Hogwarts New Zealand.

She really had no intention of going to school. But then of course, her father and stepmother see fit that she does get proper education and seeing as a good number of her siblings and other relatives went to the same school, she had went there too. There was no argument, after all, wherever she went, it would all be the same. Seven years of education. She tried to wrap her head around the idea and tried to at least like it, but she really didn't and so decided to save up her musings for later. After all, it was growing louder and louder thanks to the rather fast pace that students were being sorted that it didn't take long for her name to be called. With a roll of her eyes, she walked briskly past the other students and sat herself quickly on the stool, willing the hat to be placed quickly on her head to get this over with. She didn't really feel like being part of a show right now after all.

"You like to study people, don't you? You'll have an endless number of people to study in...Slytherin!"

Sebastian was extremely nervous walking into the Great Hall. He was the first of his family to go to Hogwarts New Zealand. His parents attended schools in Europe and they honestly had no idea what he would be getting into here in New Zealand. On top of that, he was the oldest of his siblings so he couldn't even look to his siblings to find out what school was like. Aside from the nerves that he felt, he felt a tinge of curiosity and relief. His parents didn't really practice magic around him and his siblings. They always taught them that the best things in life are worked for, and that using magic to get everything isn't always the best way to go about things. He didn't really like this mentality. He thought it was a waste of talent to not use your magic. That's why he was excited to be attending school. He wanted to finally be able to learn to use his gift. That's what he called magic. A gift. A gift not just everyone has or can use.

He pondered where the sorting hat would put him. He looked at the various tables in the hall. He heard the song that the hat sang but he still wasn't convinced that he belonged to one group or another. The older students slightly intimidated him. That's where he wants to be. He wanted to be further along in his education. He wanted to know things too...

Then he looked at his fellow classmates as they would get sorted. He would hear various names. Gryffindor! Slytherin! Ravenclaw! Hufflepuff! Somewhere among these classmates would be his eventual friends. And then he started smiling. Friends. He would finally make friends. This was it. He was finally going to become more social.

That's when he heard his name. The excitement built in him as he walked briskly to the stool. The professor placed the hat on his head and thought deeply.

I can do this. I can do this..
