Rosie had left the defence against the dark arts classroom feeling a little sad, she still had tears in her eyes and was just trying to shove it aside as she made her way to the gardens. She needed to be outside and amongst the flowers and fresh air. She knew that they would learn about plenty of other really terrible and evil things in that class, but she had just felt so awful, it had felt so bad to think about all the people affect by the evil magic. She knew lives had been ruined and knew that some of the evil wizards in the world if things had gone differently for them they might've been good. She found a dry spot to sit in, unsurprised by the fact her sister had followed her. She wiped her eyes and gave a little laugh, "I'm being silly," she said with a shrug. "I just, god, people can just be so cruel to each other,"

Aurora had followed Rosie out of the class, while Aurora had found learning about why they did defence against the dark arts and the evil people who interacted with the dark arts interesting, and terrible. She hoped to never face such things but would study hard to ensure that she was ready to fight if she had to. She knew on the other hand that Rosie was sensitive about matters of harm, she knew that her sister cared deeply about all matter of creatures and plants. She knew that evil wizards doing evil things, causing pain to people would be something that upset her, so she followed her out of the school and to the gardens. Aurora sat down next to her and put her arm around her. "It's okay Rosie, you know you've just gotta pay attention in that class and you'll be able to stand up to those kind of evil people,"

Over the years, Chloë had found that she enjoyed being out in the school's gardens. Sure, she hadn't spend a considerable amount of time there over her years at the school but whenever she did visit the gardens she felt at ease. There was just something about them that calmed her, helped her clear her head. Something she definitely needed this year with all of the responsibilities she had taken up. After wandering around the garden for a little while Chloë was taking a moment to admire some flowers when she noticed a young girl pass by, quickly followed by another. Unable to ignore that the first of the two girls had seemed upset she took a moment to consider before deciding to follow them. "Hi," She greeted with a soft voice as she walked up to them, glad to see one girl already comforting the other. "You girls okay?" She asked carefully, not wanting to meddle in their business but feeling the urge to know if they were alright.

Rosie leaned into her sister's touch and nodded, she knew what her sister was saying was right but it didn't bring her nearly as much comfort as Rosie knew Aurora thought it did. She didn't want to have to fight people, or have to defend herself against such horrible things because she never wanted to be faced with such evil, people should be good. Everyone should be kind to everyone. Was that really so much to ask? Rosie couldn't wrap her mind around the thought process of wanting to kill and harm innocent people. She looked up when another much older voice was asking if they were okay. Rosie looked teary eyed and nodded, "I'm being silly. We're okay," Rosie assured her. She didn't want an older girl, whom she was sure was the head girl, to be worried that something had happened.

Aurora spotted the older girl long before her sister did but nodded in unison with her. Rosie was first to answer, which Aurora knew was right, it had to come from the person who was upset and not the sister of them. "We just had defence against the dark arts, and learned about why it's important to do defence against the dark arts, and the professor talked about evil wizards and Rosie is upset about the way people harm each other," she was very factual in how she described how her sister was feeling. She knew Rosie like she knew herself and knew exactly what had upset her.

Looking at the girls it seemed clear to Chloë that nothing too bad was going on and they could probably handle things themselves. Still, she couldn't help but to be slightly worried about the younger girl being upset, even when she told her she was okay. She was glad the other girl seemed willing to explain what had happened though. If they hadn't she would've had a little difficulty leaving it alone but would have anyways. It wasn't her business after all. Now that she knew what had happened though she decided to sit down across from the girls, shooting them a warm smile. "It's a lot to take in, huh?" She nodded at Rosie. "I remember feeling that way a couple of times during defence against the dark arts over the years. It's hard to learn about some of the awful things people are capable of." Chloë added in a soft voice. She didn't want to scare the girls but if she had already gotten upset during one of the first lessons there likely more of those feelings in store for her during the class. "But then the good thing is that you're being taught how to protect yourself. And even others. To do good things, cancel out the awful things others are sadly capable of."

Rosie wiped at her eyes as Aurora went into more information. She hadn't wanted to bother this older girl with something she knew was relatively trivial. She was quite reassured as the girl sat down and had a warm smile. She nodded along, it wasn't too dissimilar from what Aurora had just said, just with a little more. She got the impression from it that perhaps a lot of things were going to upset her. Perhaps crying after every class wasn't a good thing. "Yeah, you're right. I don't want to end up getting upset after every class...," Rosie said with a little sigh, "I just gotta be extra kind I guess," Rosie decided. She also imagined that she need to work hard to be good at magic and always be doing things that were kind, like growing flowers or being good to animals.

Aurora was glad that the older girl pretty much said as much as she had, in more words and with more experience behind those words. Aurora didn't think it would be helpful for her sister to be upset all of the time at what they were learning but she also knew there may be occasions where it couldn't be helped. "And I'll always protect you," Aurora assured Rosie. Where she knew Rosie would always aim to be kind and to not fight, Aurora would fight and would be unkind if she needed to be. Aurora gave a warm smile to her sister, hoping that would help her feel better. She looked up at the older girl and mouthed a thank you.

Chloë gave a small smile when the girl who had been upset mentioned she didn't want to get upset every lesson. "Exactly." She nodded when the girl mentioned being extra kind, which felt like a good way to balance out the negativity defence against the dark arts could sometimes bring with it. "It's still okay not to feel okay with some of the things discussed in that class though." She added as a little reminder, knowing that if the girl continued on with the class in later years there would be more tough subjects heading her way. Chloë was glad to hear the other girl was supportive as well. She wasn't sure whether they were friends or family, but either way it was good for her to have something like that. "I'm Chloë, what are your names?" She asked in a friendly tone, feeling like it would be useful information to have should she ever catch the young girl upset again.
