The student lounge had been the only place Lilith and Mania had come up with where possibly even a larger group of students, from different houses, could hang out together. They'd only been back to school for a few days now, but Lilith had reached out to Nia as soon as they'd been back to ask for the Gryffindor's assistance in setting up this little surprise party for Felix. Ever since the end of last year when Lilith had let it all come out to Felix and he'd been there to support her, she'd wanted to thank him somehow. It wasn't much but it was his birthday and he deserved to be celebrated even if they were at school.

Lilith had been left to hang all the decorations up with the help of some others that she'd told about the surprise party. The room had a few balloons Lilith had brought from home and there was a banner they'd made for Felix that said HAPPY 16TH BIRTHDAY FELIX! hanging in the back wall of the room. Lili and Mania had even spent the better part of yesterday in the kitchens baking a cake for Felix. Luckily mania was used to painting on things so the decoration had come out quite nice. There were also some other snacks they'd managed to either scavenge from the kitchens or some Lili had brought from home. "Okay, listen they should be here in..." Lilith glanced at the clock on the wall. "Five minutes or so, when they walk in everyone just yell 'Happy Birthday Felix!' Okay?" The prefect said turning to the few people already there. She was hoping that more would show up later on.

Mania had not hesitated a single bit when Lilith had reached out to her to help with this surprise birthday party idea. She'd been very eager to and had worked with the Ravenclaw to make it as perfect as they could. Nia had taken on the part of getting Fifi to the student lounge when the time came, though it had been kind of a gamble to give her such responsibility.

Mania had told Felix she had something to show him in the student lounge and as they'd made their way towards the place she'd been bursting at the seams practically to tell the prefect they'd planned a party and invited all his friends there. She was INCREDIBLY proud of the fact that she hadn't spilled the beans yet. As she pulled the boy by his hand, she was doing her best not to be too giddy with each step. "Okay you open the door and go in first." Mania told Felix, stopping just before the student lounge's door. Lilith best have managed to pull it together with the rest of Fifi's friends because it would suck if it was still halfway done.

Felix was used to his birthday being more or less overlooked. If it wasn't by the start of the new year, or some of his classmates having theirs the same week, it was also the impending anniversary for his mum. Therefore as Nia pulled him through the corridor it was suspiciously obvious there was something going on, although whether it was for his birthday remained to be seen. He wasn't sure whether most people even knew what date it was.

As the fourth year paused in front of the door, Felix was eyeing her up, the excited expression on her face only making him more convinced that something behind this door was going to surprise him. Looking at Nia, it was clear she was holding her tongue, trying not to give the game away. He didn't ask any questions, he didn't want to risk pushing it, knowing she'd probably feel guilty if she told him. "Alright," he gingerly took hold of the door handle, squeezing her fingers with the other and pushed it open.

Jasper was very proud of himself for not accidentally giving away the surprise before Felix's birthday, and also for turning up on time before Felix but after the decorations had already been put up. Felix had massively helped Jasper out with his school books and he was excited to celebrate his birthday with him as a sort of way to say thank you. He nodded along with Lilith's instructions, thinking how cool she was and what a great job she had done with the decorations. Then they waited for Felix to arrive, the door was opening but Jasper kept an eye on Lilith for her queue to start saying happy birthday because he didn't want to go too early and ruin anything.

Eoghan had reluctantly joined during the set up of Felix's birthday party, but only because Lilith asked him to be there. He'd more or less kept to himself, reading at the back of his room while the girls did whatever it was they thought Felix would like, but he supposed his height had come in handy for the higher decorations. He'd given Jasper a nod when he joined them, another fifth year they'd shared classes with but not someone the Ravenclaw had really spoken to before. Eoghan had to suppose it was cute, the way that Lilith was getting so excited about working with Mania. Eoghan knew she'd made up with Felix at the end of the previous year, although he still wasn't convinced yet that Felix actually respected him. Until then, Eoghan was stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Lilith was just putting up the last decoration when she heard noises from the other side of the doors. Turning towards all of the people already in the Lounge, Lili's eyes were wide with excitement. "I think that's them!" The prefect whisper yelled, feeling giddy over the surprise. "Okay, on my count to three." She said and raised her hand with three fingers up. Lowering them one by one, just as the door opened to reveal Felix her last finger went down and the fifth year threw her arms up and yelled. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY FELIXX!" After that she laughed and rushed to give her friend a hug. "Good job Nia!" She told the brunette behind Felix as she gave the Gryffindor a hug.

Honestly Amory had been surprised when Lilith had told him about this whole surprise party thing, though then again maybe he shouldn't have been surprised. It seemed like a thing the Ravenclaw would do. He'd offered his help up in setting it all up gladly and had managed to keep the surprise from his best friend until now. As he watched Lilith for the cue he smiled a little to himself, it was kind of funny. He'd come to the school thinking all he needed to do was prove he was good enough for the school, that he was as worthy of magic as any of his peers. What he'd not even considered wanting was make friends, yet a few weeks in he'd met his Fifi dearest and now he thought it would be strange not to be here with him around. As the door flew open Amory couldn't quite match Lilith's excitement but he too joined in congratulating his best friend. "Happy birthday Fifi!"

Suddenly Mania wished she'd been in the room already with the others, or gone before Felix. For she realized behind him she could not see his face. She didn't get to see his reaction and that sort of made her sad, but as she heard the others yell happy birthday she too said it behind him. "HAPPPYYYY BIRTHDAYYY FIFI!" Before she had the chance to hug him though Lilith beat her to it, it was okay though. Nia would get her chance later.

Turns out that if you have a camera, no matter how many times you try to explain it is in case you see any cool birds, your older sister will beg and plead you to take a few pictures from the surprise birthday party she'd organized. That was exactly why Leo was at the Student Lounge, plus Felix had been super cool and helpful so he wanted to be there to wish him happy birthday. Leo made sure to get a few extra photos from the big surprise moment.

While Felix had been expecting something behind the door given Nia's reactions, he hadn't expected the wall of celebrations from his friends, welcoming him on the other side. For a moment, Felix felt a little dumbstruck, his eyes widening and glistening a little as he realised that everyone in the room was here just for him. Well, except for perhaps Leo, he may have been forced into it.

As Lilith came over to give him a hug, Felix wrapped both his arms around her, squeezing the Ravenclaw tightly. Nia may have been excited to bring him here but he had no doubt that Lilith had something to do with it too. "Oh my god, thank you," he had to look away from the rest of the group for a moment as he released his friend and tried not to cry. He hadn't expected this at all, nor had he expected to feel this way in the circumstances. With Amory and Jasper also wishing him a happy birthday, the fifth year walked further into the room to give them a hug too, grateful that they'd turned up and chosen to be here. "Hey," he smiled widely at them both, knowing that he'd made good choices with those he'd spent his time with.

"This is so cool," he peered around the room at the set up his friends had put together, "is this really just for me?" He was half expecting this to be a joint celebration, that someone else was about to come in after him.

Someone did come in after him, but it wasn't another student with a birthday.

Leena had already been summoned to Felix's party, but had dipped out to get some last minute supplies before the Gryffindors returned. She'd been held up, trying to argue with an elf about why she should be allowed to take utensils out of the school kitchens, and by the time she arrived at the party with a fist full of spoons, the Hufflepuff had missed the entrance. "Happy Birthday," she smiled gingerly at her sister's friend, before laying down the spoons beside the cake that had been made for him. It wasn't decorated to her own tastes, but she supposed as long as he liked it then it was okay.

Mania grinned behind Felix's back as he seemed surprised but in a very good way. As Felix made his way further into the room to hug more of his friends Nia rushed to Lilith, her eyes wide with joy and she was now smiling excitedly to the prefect giving her a high five for the plan that had worked out. "We make a pretty good team!" She told the brunette, glad she'd come to Mania about the plan.

"Yes, it is all for you and so is this." Nia said rushing to the cake and putting a candle on top of it before lighting it on fire with her excellent wand work. "Should weee sing?" Mania asked looking around the room with a grin as she brought the cake towards Felix. He'd better blow the candle out before it burned all the way down and messed up the picture she'd made on the cake.
