Sam stood staring up towards the ceiling, it was pretty cool, better than he had expected.

He looked over towards the Ravenclaw table, and smiled. That was where his Mother and Father were when they were younger. He hoped that he would be there too.

He glanced round the nervous group of students. He hadn't really talked with any of them, they were all feeling the same. They didn't need to tell each other.

The sorting began, Sam became nervous, what if... started to go round in his head.

One by one names were called and Sam kept his face calm, then came people with the last names begining with 'L'.

"Moore, Sam"

Sam took a deep breathe, like many of the students had. He put head up and step by step became close to the hat, which would almost tell his destiny. The hat placed itself on his head.

whatever house, please make sure it will suit me Sam thought in his head

"RAVENCLAW!"

Aroha blinked at the large room she had found herself standing in. She wasn't scared, just a little unsure of her surroundings. So much stone was unusual for the Maori girl, she had grown up in a tiny cottage, and this castle seemed like something from a fairytale. She waited for her name to be called out, her chocolate brown eyes wide open in excietment. "Marakahi, Aroha" her name was called, and Aroha walked up to the stool to be sorted. Her eyes look at the had, wondering what it is going to do to her. She sat down nervously, and bit her lip. The hat is placed on her head, and she held her breath, waiting for the loud voice to ring out the house she would be in until she was seventeen.
"GRYFFINDOR!"

Maxwell sighed as he walked into the Great Hall, his legs shaking. As he entered the immence hall, he saw two of his sisters looking at him from the Gryffindor and Ravenclaw table. Taylor was grinning widely and waving, acting like her usual idiotic self, while Gabriella smiled briefly, Max smiled half-heartedly back at the twins. The list was read, and people were sorted. Maxwell almost fainted as the booming voice of the man on the platform spoke. He wasn't brave like Taylor, so there was no way he would be in Gryffindor. He wasn't exactly kind and fair, so Hufflepuff was out of the question. "Marino, Maxwell." his name was read out.

Max sighed again, and walked up to the stool and sat down, aware of the eyes of his sisters and every other person in the hall watching him. Don't look at me... He thought angrily, though he wasn't as shy as some people thought. The hat was placed on Maxwell's head, and he smiled sightly. Please, Ravenclaw. I know I would do well there! he thought, a little worried that the hat wouldn't agree with him.

"Yes, RAVENCLAW!"

Fleur looked around the hall waiting for her name to be called. She began to get tired standing around for ages, and her legs grew painful. When she was watching other people being sorted, she wondered how the Sorting Hat sorted each person. Was there some sort of technique or special power within the hat?....Or something like that.

"Midnight, Fleur!" Fleur sighed as she walked towards the chair and slouched down. "Let's just get this over with" she thought as the hat was placed on top of her head. She wasn't very worried about what house she would be put in, though for her, there was only one hopeful candidate out of all the houses....but she could always end up being put in a totally different house.

"RAVENCLAW!"

Vadiken Entered late to the sorting as usual. Although he was not sorted he sat down over at the hufflepuff table. He was a bit emmbaresed that he was late and he saw a few slytherens looking at him and snickering. Vadiken just looked away and continued to watch the others get sorted until it was his turn. That is, if the sorting hat ever got to him.

"HUFFLEPUFF!"

"Hales, Trixie"

At the sound of her name, Trixie's heart skipped a beat. She took a deep breath then proceeded to the middle of the stage where the sorting hat waited. Please please please don't trip, she begged. The last thing she needed was to embarass herself infront of the people who she'd be schooling with for the next 7 years. Trixie sat down on the stool, carefully placed the hat on top her head, and waited..

"RAVENCLAW!"

Charlie was away from his family. That was the only good thing about this experience. He glanced around nervously, a hint of disgust most likely evident on his face. He then up looked at the candles FLOATING in the air. This was all so weird. Who knew his Grandad wasnt lying when he admitted to an affair with a 'witch'. Charlie shook his head still wondering if this was some kind of stretched joke his family was playing on him for some kind of amusement. Well its not exactly funny!! He waited with a group of other people his age, most chattering away about all this random stuff that Charlie had no idea was. What the heck was Quidditch?

"Linus, Charlie." Charlie's head snapped up and he walked up to the stool, with the hat. Charlie STILL didnt understand how or why it was TALKING. It was placed on his head and Charlie tried not to let the confusion show in his face as he waited patiently to see what the thing had to... say?

"SLYTHERIN!"

Josh couldn't believe that the sorting was today. The morning for once he was not dragged out of bed by his sister Emme, instead he got up by himself excited more than ever before. Though he knew very well once the excitement of the sorting ceremony died down, he would hate that he had to get up early every day for classes. That would be at any school. Might as well be at Hogwarts New Zealand.

Entering the Great hall, Josh looked over at the Ravenclaw table. He noticed Emme right away. Even though she had grown this summer he was still taller than her by a little bit. This almost made Josh feel older even though he was a few years younger.

Waiting for the w's to be called was almost torture. Why does my last name have to start with a w He thought to himself as he tapped his foot out of impatience and excitement. Both emotions taking over his body. Finally it was his turn.

Windchester, Josh

Walking up, Josh gave one last look at Emme before taking his seat. Closing his eyes he tried to imagine how this was going to work out. Ravenclaw if I'm smart enough, Gryffindor if I can live up to Becca's expections, Slytherin if I am like that, and Hufflepuff if I can't fit into anything else he thought logically. Any of the houses would be ok, well really they would have to. Gryffindor and Ravenclaw were his two major choices, but really he didnt' have too much say.

Sort me sorting hat. Do what you do best. My future is in your hands Josh thought of coarse even when thinking his tone was not rude or even rushing the hat. He really just wanted to have this moment over with even though for so long he was looking forward to this very thing.

"GRYFFINDOR!"

Lee Min Ha took a deep breath while her group was walking in the great hall, she didn't expect this crowd. The said great hall was huge, and the castle was like her house back in Korea. Lee will not be quite said with this, she's like back home but the different is Lee's brother and parents are not there. Lee Min Ha got off from her thoughts when she heard her name.

She looked up in front and walked slowly, looking at the students who where looking at her. Lee sat at the stool and face the crowded great hall. Then the talking hat was placed on her head, Please, i don't know what's going on. I don't know what to say either, so, Mr. hat i'm counting on you She thought and waited for the hat to speak.

"HUFFLEPUFF!"

lola walked into the hall and waited for her name.

her name was called and she went to sit down on the stool.

the hat was put on her head and she shuddered.
'please, gryffindor!' she thought, squeezing her fists so tight that her nuckles tuned white.

"GRYFFINDOR!"

Tiffany rolled her eyes. Most of the people who got sorted into Slytherin were just weird. She began thinking of the twins, Claire and Petrina. She missed them so much. Tiffany sighed. It sucked having a surname starting with W, she had to wait for so long.

"Wilson, Tiffany".

Tiffany raised an eyebrow. She stood up and walked.

"SLYTHERIN!"

Rowan walked casually into the large hall. He sighed, the whole room was swarming with excited children. He didn't know how to feel. Up until he and his sister had got the letter, magic was just make believe. The two of them had been thrown into a world that they had no clue about. All he had known seemed so far away. He waited with mixed emotions for his name to be called. Even though he wouldn't admit it to anyone he was actually fairly nervous and a little scared. He smirked, Xera would be so annoyed that she didn't get sorted before him. He would apologise later, and then she would be happy again.

"Farrinton-Myles, Rowan"

He was distracted from his trail of thought and made his way up to the front. He felt a little sorry for the person who had read out his name and all the other first years in the room. His name was a bit of a mouthfull.

He sat down on the stool and waited for the hat to be placed on his head. Please, please don't put me in um... is it Slytherin? How ever much I love my sister I really don't want to end up there as that's where she will probably end up. Seven years with no escape from her will be a nightmare. He thought totally unaware that the sorting hat could hear his every thought.

"GRYFFINDOR!"

James walked slowly and tentitavely into the hall hoping that today his luck would come in. He waited patiently for his name to be called. "Tyler , James" the hat called. Amazed that he was doing this James walked up to the stool where he sat, knees weak and arms heavy.
"please not slytherin" he thought , "mother will dis own me if you put me in slytherin".

"HUFFLEPUFF!"

i would approach the new member and ask them what their reason was for sharing the password. if they had a valid reason i would remind them that the house password is confidential and warn them not to do it again. if they didnt have a good reason then i would report it to a prefect or my head of house.

Kaysei hunted around for Sodalight before realizing she wasn't here. She would have to be sorted first. She walked along confidently, hoping she'd make it into a good house. She looked at the other students around her and found they were alot more nervous than her. She smiled at a few near her and waiting next to the stool.
"Kaysei Razor" her name was called. She hated her surname, wondered why she wasn't allowed it changed, but she went and sat on the stool.

She waited now nervously, glancing over to the red table for her sorting.

"GRYFFINDOR!"

Sakura waited patiently in line. Occasionally, she looked at the bracelet on her wrist, then turned her attention to the hat in front, and turned her attention to the Hufflepuff table, where she could pick out Tichondrius onii-chan. He waved enthusiastically to her, and she waved back too. Then her name was called. "Sakura Tsukihime!"

Moving forward, she picked up the hat, dusted the stool gently, sat on the stool and pulled that hat down on her head.

"HUFFLEPUFF!"

Xera entered the hall next to her brother, Rowan. In her eyes he was a pain in her behind but he was her brother and she loved him. The blonde looked up as he was sorted into Gryffindor and one of the long tables erupted in cheers. Again. Xera really didn't know what the fuss was about and, in all honestly, she couldn't care less.

"Farrinton-Myles, Xera"

Xera walked boldly towards the stool, slightly annoyed that Rowan got sorted before her and that the facalty of the school just went around putting random hats on peoples heads. Ew, icky, ew Xera thought as the professor placed the battered hat onto her perfectly placed blonde curls.

"SLYTHERIN!"

Isabelle arrived in the hall with all the other first years and there was a lot of them. As they were ordered to stand in a line Isabelle looked around the great hall it was magnificent. Beautiful Decorations everywhere & the ceiling, wow, it was enchanted.

One by one the students in the line were called out to go & have there turn to be sorted into houses. Isabelle was quite nervous, but excited. she couldnt wait for her turn. soon enough it came: Garnet, Isabelle.

Now Isabelle was really scared all eyes were now on her, she wasnt prepared for this. she made her way nervously up to the stool & the sorting hat was placed on her head, It fell beneath her eyes because she was small. she sat there, took a deep breath & waited for the sorting hat to make its decision.

"RAVENCLAW"

The hall was bigger and brighter than she was used to, this small blonde child. Father hadn't wanted this, but Mother insisted that the child needed to be with people her own age, people who weren't her sisters, people who weren't such pushovers. Because Tania was too powerful for her own good.

Her tall, willowy frame and innocent blue eyes made her look harmless enough, her sweet smile and babyish voice made everyone think she was an angel. But this child was evil. Evil beyond any reasonable means of evil. No one would ever suspect that sweet Tania Rivers was anything more than a innocent child. A waif of a girl, but she was not bad to the core.

Small children ran away when they heard her approach, grown men cowered away from her angelic face. Aunty had taught her well. Uncle had smiled at her charm, and it had meant his death. Oh, Tania was most capable of killing people, but she knew she musn't. Mother knew what she was, knew why people were afraid of the eldest daughter. So Tania was shipped away from the dull grays of the house, her surname changed. No one would ever suspect her.

Mother had thought the school could make her feel compassion, make her a better person. But Tania was stubborn, and she knew she would not be tamed like a common dog. She was much more than that. Nobody could break her, not even Aunty. Aunty had tried to stop her, but it was too late. Tania was a demon of the very worst kind.

The pretty girl smiled sweetly as she stood in line, her white-blonde hair in cute little pigtails, tied with pink ribbon. Her school robes even looked better than the other students. Eyes were on Tania, and she was happy. The Hufflepuff table. Oh what fun would be had by Tania. The Gryffindors too.

She looked perfectly innocent, but inside she was plotting. How to make them afraid of her? Or, should she pretend to be sweet, and bide her time. She could easily do something terrible, then frame someone. Maybe not murder, but something close. Perhaps she could push someone off a cliff? No, that might kill them. Even at eleven she was plotting murder. The Death Eaters would be begging her to join them when she was old enough.

'Rivers, Tania.' She scowled at her fake surname, her pretty face suddenly turning nasty. No, Nia, lull them into a false sense of security. she thought, her smile returning. A girlish giggle came out of her mouth, as she skipped happily up to the platform. She could almost hear the room thinking in unison: a Hufflepuff for sure. She sat upon the stool, and waited. Her future was written out for her at home. Now she could do whatever she pleased. Tania knew perfectly well that she was Slytherin material, and it would have been a crime not to put her there. She sat still, waiting for the hat to make it's decision.

"SLYTHERIN!"

The First Years trooped into the hall. Trixie looked around her, awestruck. The magnificent Hall was more amazing than she could've imagined. As she took her place in the line, she looked around at the older students. Her eyes met those of a dark-haired boy at one of the long tables. He gave her an encouraging smile. Trixie winked back at him, grinning. She looked around at her fellow First Years. A few people met her gaze and she smiled at them, but none smiled back. Most looked extrememly nervous. Some were shaking, others anxiously chewing their nails. But not Trixie. She was relaxed, confident. She knew that, whichever house the Hat placed her in, she was destined for greatness at Hogwarts. She was already a talented witch, she knew that, and couldn't wait to start learning magic. As the first names were called, Trixie's mind started to wander. She looked around at the other First Years, and felt a small rush of excitement as she wondered which of them would be her friends, which her enemies. She then thought of her classses the next day, and the feeling of excitement intensified. She couldn't wait to start learning magic, and putting her skills to the test! Then she was brought back to the hall with a bump as she heard her name called -

"Pompeii, Trixie!"

Despite her relaxed feelings earlier, she now felt a thrill of fear. She took a deep breath to steady herself, then walked forwards out of the line to sit on the small, rickety stool. She placed the hat on her head and waited anxiously for the voice...

This was the moment he had been waiting for, and as he stood amongst the crowd of first years, all waiting to be sorted, Jack fiddled about with his cloak buttons. He was nervous, excited, anxious and worried all at the same time. From what he'd seen of the Castle so far, it was amazing and he couldn't wait to be wandering it's halls. But what if he didn't make any friends?!
Is it even right for a boy to be feeling like this? he asked himself, tugging on his shirt collar.
He didn't have long to answer himself, though, as the headmasters voice echoed around the large hall, "Jack Truffould".
Jack looked around himself, making sure there wasn't any other Jack Truffould's making there way to the front. But as noone moved, he took a step forward and made his way up to the three legged stool. A nervous smile spread across his face as the Sorting Hat was placed on his head. What was going to happen now, what house would he be placed in? His sea blue eyes glittered as he waited.

"HUFFLEPUFF!"

"Revley, Alasdair". Alasdair smiled and made his way up to the three legged stool. This was the moment he had been waiting for, he would finally find out which house he would be spending his years at hogwarts in! As the Sorting Hat was sat upon his head, he felt a wave of excitement rush over him and he stared out at the crowds of sudents before him. Some sitting at there house tables, probably wishing the sorting would hurry up and finish so they could eat, some eagerly awaiting there turn to be sorted.
Twiddling his thumbs, Alasdair bit his lip slightly. There was nothing he could do, now, it was simply a waiting game. His future lay with the ragged old hat on his head!

"GRYFFINDOR!"

Jimmy sat down where he was told and wiated for his name to be called while searching the room for the girl caled Emma-lily but he couldn't see her then he did. he asked the guy next to him "is that Emma-Lily?"
"no that jess the dude said
now jimmy was confused
but before he could say any thing else he heard his name
"Jimmy Maxwell!"

"GRYFFINDOR!"

The Hazari boy walked into the hall. His name was Seungyong, but most called him by his surname. What was he doing here? He didn't belong amongst these people, these freaks. He was a normal boy, he was not a wizard! Though Seungyong Hazari could deny it all he like, the fact still remained: he was a wizard and so was his uncle.

"Hazari, Sengyong." The man called. The eldest Hazari boy walked up to the stool, and sat down. This hat was going to put him into a house. He prayed it wasn't the wrong one.

"GRYFFINDOR!"

Callum entered the Great Hall with ease. He flicked his floppy brown hair out of his eyes and heard the first name being called. After 10 Names had been called, Callum yawned and started whispering to someone next to him. He Wondered why he had ended up here. It was unexpected and sudden, as both his parents died in a freak storm. His hair always got in his eyes. How he wished he had had it cut before he came. He fiddled around with it, trying to hold it up against his forhead. He jumped suddenly because his name was called out.

"Yarn, Callum!". Callum dropped his fringe in surprise. His name had come more quickly than he had expected. He stood up and walked briskly up to the stool. For some reason the whole hall was in tears of laughter. He frowned and then realised his trousers were tucked into his socks. As he tried to pull them out, he tripped clumsily. Callum felt like dying. He had to stay calm. So he just smiled at a girl with blonde Hair and blue eyes. She smiled back comfortingly. How he wished she would be in the same house as him. Callum sat on the stool and the hat was placed on his head. He had an itch but he resisted the temptation. He prayed and prayed he would be in Gryffindor, and hoped the girl would be too. The Sorting hat spoke, and Callum shot off the stool. He was surprised at the smallest of things. Only the girl wasnt in histerics. She just blinked kindly. Callum stumbled back onto the stool, and the sorting hat spoke. For once he wasnt surprised. He was just
Hopeful.
