Daisy yawned, feigning boredness as the ceremony dragged on. Although she was excited to be sorted, it felt as if she was literally aging, just waiting for the list to reach 'B'. She glanced around, scowling slightly at the over-excited children. They were so over-the-top, they could rival the children at Daisy's foster home. Okay, maybe not.. those kids were pretty crazy. Noticing everyone fawn over the ceiling, the hat, and even just the room, she rolled her eyes disdainfully. These kids were bound to get on her nerves, but she wouldn't show it, that would just be rude.

You may be wondering why Daisy was in such a bad mood, but it was simply because she hadn't flown in so long. She hadn't been allowed to take one of the brooms from home, and she was itching to just get outside and play Quidditch. Tapping her fingers impatienly, she tried not to die of boredom.

Finally, the teacher reading the list of names called hers. Sighing, she stood slowly and gracefully made her way to the stool. Crossing her legs, she willed the hat to think faster, as she sat for what felt like hours with the hideous accessory adorning her head.

"I'm not an accessory - though I do decide your future. Now, two houses suit you equally well, but after that thought I'll have to say SLYTHERIN!"

Taylor walked into the room along with all the other kids that were being sorted. The room was breahtaking. The ceiling wasn't a ceiling and it was huge. The brunette only let the shock settle on her face for a second before walking up to the front with the others. There is a hat. A hat is going to sort us. Taylor waited patiently as all the names were called, then she heard hers.

"Marks, Taylor."

She walked up and sat on the stool, she didn't really seem bothered that there were hndreds of eyes staring at her. She crossed her legs and waited for the hat to talk. To tell her where she would make friends and sleep for the next seven years of her life.

"Your noble attitude and desire for adventure places you in the house of GRYFFINDOR!"

Sydney walked into the hall with all the other children, rolling her eyes as they all gasped. It's not that amazing. She stood, bored, as they called out names. Sydney looked up from her names as her name was called.

"Caine, Sydney."

She strutted up to the stool and flicked her hair as she sat down, no emotion on her face. Do your thing and let me go and sit down already would you? She thought towards the hat, knowing it could hear her.

"Salazaar wasn't nearly as rude as you all. Respect for magic and things of old was deep within him. Perhaps your houses has gone astray? SLYTHERIN!"

Llheione nervously looked at the hundred students in the great hall, she closed her eyes not to see her arrogant cousin and just opened it when someone tap her shoulder, she opened her eyes and saw her kind cousin Alexia. Llheione smiled at her and looked back at the front, the man in black cloak called her for the C's. Nervously, she walked in front and slowly sat at the stool.

The man walked toward her and placed the old rag hat, when it was in her head she thinked of any just to make she's in the right house. Please, Mr. hat. make me the one. Please, don't want to be with my arrogant cousin she thought and closed her eyes and waited for the hat to speak.

"Though it may not be there yet, I can see you doing great things in RAVENCLAW!"

Oscar was feeling rather sick. For one he was standing in the middle of what seemed a gigantic crowd of students and the second was that there was a gigantic crowd around him, of older students. Staring at him, well not him personally but it felt like they were staring at him. He didn't get a chance to look around at the beautiful hall he just stared at his feet. He tugged at his jumper with his hands as the sorting began.

He wondered where River and Leia was. They were his best friends. Probably forgot about me, he thought sadly to himself. He never really had any friends. Partly because he was so quiet but he couldn't help it. It was just how he was. He felt his heart thump wildly in his chest. He was sure everyone in a radius of a metre could hear him. He was next. He knew it.

"Edwards, Oscar"

Oh no, oh no. He thought with a terrified expression. Move your feet! He thought to himself, but he couldn't and wouldn't move. He got a shove in his back from someone behind him and his feet found themselves and walked up to the front of the hall. The walk seemed to be going on for hours. But eventually he arrived. His stomach was twisting in all sorts of shapes and his cheeks reddened as he sat on the stool. Everyone was staring at him.

All of a sudden Oscar got a huge fright, the hat talked! Was he supposed to talk back? He didn't know. Instead he just sat there waiting for the hats desicion. He was hoping for Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff. Leaning more towards Ravenclaw but it didn't matter to him. He just wanted to be off this stand and have all the eyes off him. Please..eh mr. hat don't put me in Slytherin. That was his only request. He thought it a nescessity as before he said that he saw the table which he pressumed to be Slytherin pointing and laughing at him. Please.

"No, no, no! Slytherin is the one house you couldn't possibly belong to! No, you fit most in RAVENCLAW!"

Richard Thunder walked in and waited in line and waited for his name to be called and anxiously waited finnaly it was his turn he slowly shuffled up to the chair sad down and awaited his placement

"I think you'll find your home is in HUFFLEPUFF!"

Scarlette stood nervously in the crowd of students waiting to be sorted. She couldn't see anyone she recognised and she wished someone she knew, like Taylor was next to her now. The girl waited for her name to be called, watching as students were told there house. Eventually she heard a voice call her name.

"Mansen, Scarlette."

She walked up to the front and sat on the stool waiting to find out where she would be going. She closed her eyes so she didn't have to look at the sea of faces that were all looking at her. Gryffindor...Ravenclaw...Hufflepuff....Slytherin She repeated each house name in her head listening to how each one sounded.

"You'll fit nicely in with those of great wisdom... RAVENCLAW!"

Adrienne entered the Great Hall in the long line of students, anxious to be sorted. Her brother, Xander followed a few students behind her. She wasn't twiddling her thumbs or biting her nails in nervousness like the others. NO, she stood poised, confident of herself. That's just how she was. Her sleek dark chocolate hair, just as rich as the color it imitated, was pulled back in a knotted ponytail at the back of her head, pulled away from her feline features and gorgeous emerald eyes, her favorite color and the main color of the house she was just dying to be sorted into. Slytherin.

She wore the robes with disgust, as they were hiding one of her newest creations. A green sweater vest with her family crest embroidered on the breast, over a crisp white button up shirt and a black skirt, with emerald folds sewn in. Green Black and Pink plaid bobby socks hid her long legs to her knees where the skirt ended and on her feet were the school's blah black mary-janes. Yet this lovely green feast for the eyes was shrouded in the itchy black blanket of a robe.

She did however, shuffle her feet a bit in anticipation for running up to the stool when her name was called ahead of Xander's. Eventually after A-O the name "Paine, Adrienne!" was called over the buzzing of new and old students mingling and the girl's chin shot up even higher as she made several long strides to the stool in front of the staff table at the head of the hall.

She took a seat with a beaming white smile to the others looking at her, her adoring fans as she liked to think, and closed her eyes when the hat was placed on her head. It began to whisper in her mind as it went through her thoughts, memories, everything. So, naturally, Adrienne began to talk back to it.

Hello Mr. Hat. I know you're supposed to be able to tell which house we'll be in. So I'm sure you'll be yelling Slytherin soon. This is so wonderful isn't it? Hm Hm hm.... she kicked her legs and waited for the big finale of the Hat's mutterings.

"I know you'd like me to put you in Slytherin but greatness, for you, lies in RAVENCLAW!"

Elliot walked in looking around the large room the group of 11 year old's had entered. Her gaze lingered on the ceiling. It was beautiful, with it's vast blackness twinkling with stars. The little girl shuffled forward listening to names being called. Waiting. Waiting for her own name to be called so she could found out where she would spend the next seven years of her life. She held the little charm bracelet on her right wrist in her left hand. The little rugby ball clicking against the rainbow. She smiled slightly.

Then she heard a voice. It rang out in the near silence of the room. "Thunders, Elliot" It called out. She walked up to the front and sat carefully on the stool. She closed her eyes to avoid the gazes of so many students. Hello Mr Sorting Hat.That is your name isn't it? I know I don't have any choice in where I go but could you possibly not put me in Slytherin? I don't think I'd like it there. Thank you so much. Your a nice hat really even if some people don't seem to like you much...

"No, you're not a Slytherin. You'll do well in HUFFLEPUFF!"

Megan was shaking slightly, she wasn't used to this much fear and nerves. She had to go up in front of all those people and sit on a stool. She would have over hundreds of eyes watching her, they would just sit there, staring at her. The thought made Megan want to run but her legs were jelly. "Vine, Megan."

It took Magan a second to realise that was her name and they were waiting for her. Shakily, she walked up and sat on the stool. I don't want to bother you or tell you how to do your job or anything but could you possibly make a quick decision with me. I don't like all these people looking at me.

"Alright - RAVENCLAW!"

Leslie walked through the double doors with an air of confedence about her she looked around at the older seated students, she looked many in the eyes, she thought to herself " so many people, so many possible friends " she hoped the next seven years would be fun aswell as interesting.

At the front of the hall everyone stopped, sat on the stage was a stool and a tatty hat, unsure of what would be happening now her stomach turned all the confedence of the previous moments seemed to have made a run for it back out those double doors, she was thinking strongly about joining it, " No " she thought stearnly thats not me i have always faced my fears.

The ceremony began, students were called up and the scruffy hat was placed on his or hers head and he would speak, it seemed that it could read the thoughts of the person it was sat upon.

Her name was called finally, she walked what she looked as to be as confedent as before and smiled as the hat was lowered to her head,
" Hello " she thought bravely, she couldnt think of anything else to say, she sat waiting for a responce, she hoped she would be placed into a house where they no how to have fun and they wont be horrible to her, she had enough of that in her previous school.

"Your future lies in GRYFFINDOR!"

Lauren was there in the great hall at last, she was waiting for this moment since she had the letter. She looked around the hall, she saw the four house tables, there was gryffindor, hufflepuff and ravenclaw all smiling up at the new arrivals. Then she noticed slytherin who all looked proud and extremely bored. Some people new each other already and were standing together in the line. But Lauren was standing there alone, she didnt know anybody. She was waiting for her name to be called. Several people have already gone up, looking scared and nervous. Then Suddenly Gem, Lauren. Lauren made her way up to the stool shaking she sat down and the sorting hat was placed on her head, all eyes were on her now and she was very worried.

"Another one for RAVENCLAW!"

Cassie wrung her hands, and her fingers trembled. She didn't know why she was so nervous - it's not like she had to do anything. All she had to do was sit down, let the hat sort her, and then move on.
But after that... she thought to herself.
She blinked any bad thoughts out of her mind, and decided that, no matter what house she got sorted into, she would get on with everyone. It'd be fine.
"Mitchells, Cassie!"
The voice boomed out across the floor, and adrenaline like no other she had ever felt pumped through her veins. The nerves died away, and excitement filled her body. It was better than any race she'd ever ran, any rollercoaster she'd ever sat screaming on. She walked up to the stage, and sat down on the stool.
Scott picked up The Sorting Hat, and placed it on her head. Cassie sat there and waited, nothing being said for a moment or two. She kept her head clear, knowing that some people willed the Sorting Hat to put them in a certain house, but she knew already that it didn't matter what you thought - the hat would put you where you were meant to go. It didn't matter what you wanted.

And then, the huge booming voice coming from above her head filled the hall.

"GRYFFINDOR!"

Zacharie watched as people were sorted, dreading the time when his name would be called. The 'A's were done, then the 'B's and the 'C's and finally the 'D's
"Duquette, Zacharie."
Zacharie walked up to the Sorting Hat, and sat on the stool, trembling. He knew that if he wasn't in Slytherin, he would be a disgrace to the family. "Please, just let me be in Slytherin." he begged the hat.

"Yes, alright, as you like it. SLYTHERIN!"

Jennifer walked into the hall, shaking. She was more than a head shorter than everyone else in the room, but her bright red hair made her stand out from the crowd of black-clad students. "Moore, Jennifer." her name was called out. Before then, Jennifer was sure this was a big joke, but now she wasn't so sure...

She walked up to the stool, and sat down, wishing she could stop trembling. The tiny girl shrank away from the hat, but to no avail. The hat slid down her face, past her nose. Jennifer cursed her shortness. The houses are all the same to me, why do I have to go through with this? she thought, annoyed. It was said that red-heads had hot tempers, and for Jennifer at least, it was true. "Just stick me in Ravenclaw and be done with it." she whispered to the hat.

"I'll stick you in Ravenclaw, alright. But only because it's where you belong. RAVENCLAW!"

Wish skipped into the Great Hall, earning some glares from some of the older students. "Oh my..." she said quietly, looking at everyone. She hadn't known there were that many students who attended HNZ, and the size was unnerving as Wish had only been to a small country school. She was amazed that there were so many wizards in New Zealand, let alone the whole world!

Wish had tried to make her hair hide her burnt face, but it wasn't working too well. She noticed a few people staring at her as she walked past. She saw her sister Avadia shooting her a sympathetic look, the looking away again. Wish smiled slightly, it was good to know that she wouldn't be among complete strangers!

"Price, Naomi." Wish frowned; she didn't like it when people used her full name. Wish was much better. She walked up to the stool and sat down, letting the hat be placed upon her head. One hat was going to determine her future, and that wasn't a pleasing thought. She knew where she wanted to be: Ravenclaw, just like the rest of her family. Would she be the black sheep and be placed in Hufflepuff with Avadia's twin? Either way, it would suit Wish fine. "Ravenclaw would be nice... But if it doesn't suit me..." she murmered.

"You definitely belong to HUFFLEPUFF!"

Bellda watched the other student's get sorted calmly. She didn't mind getting into any house at all but it would be great if she could get in Gryffindor. Bellda smiled as she thought of her younger sister, Yenny. Yenny wanted to get in Gryffindor and that girl was just eight.

"Mervina", Bellda looked up and smiled. It was her turn. She stood up and placed the hat on her head? Which house was she going to be sorted into? Which house...?

"You definitely belong in GRYFFINDOR!"

Tanner entered the great hall all pumped for the day ahead of her. It was the day that people had been talking about for the past months and possibly year. Sorting Day had come in which all the students would walk into that Great Hall and have simple hat place on their head. This would determined where they belonged for the next seven years. Not that Tanner was nervous about the descision. Ravenclaw was her first choice but she would deal with any other house if need be. It wasn't like the few nasty wanna be slytherins that she had met at the meeting that thought every other house but Slyther was crap. In a way Tanner could only hope that they made it into Slytherin, for she doubted that would be the house for her.

The Sorting hat sang it's song and Tanner made sure to clap for it. Who wouldn't? How many talking hats do you know that can actually sing? Treat question really only one. Tanner would be surprised if there were more out there. I bet the sorting hat is one of a kind though She thought deciding to ask someone later on or even look it up. After of coarse she checked out the lawn and lake. That would be where Tanner spent most of her time swimming or playing sports. Sure studies were important but sports would and always did come first. No matter what.

As the H's were called up. Tanner heard her name. Readjusting her baseball cap on her head she walked to the front of the Great hall. drat I have to take off my cap She thought hating to have to do this in front of others. People always looked at her odd when she didn't have the cap on her head. As if she was more girly than need be without the hat. Now that was something Tanner was never girly.

Taking her seat on the stool, Tanner carefully took the hat off her long blonde hair falling gracefully passed her shoulders a few reactions from the front giving a few ohhs. Tanner rolled her eyes at them before closing her eyes with the pressure of the new hat on her head. Ravenclaw would be my prefered house but really I don't have too much of a say. Tanner thought letting out a small laugh. So it's all up to you. Never thought I would put so much pressure on someone like that. I guess you are just used to deciding people's futures though. I mean afterall Tanner went on only to be cut off as the sorting hat concluded his answer which was...........

"That's exactly where you fit in most. RAVENCLAW!"

Jarrod walked into the hall, smugly looked around... It allright he thought. He watched other students be sorted, smirking at students who got into hufflepuff and smiling with approval to see those who got into slytherin. As the names getting called out got into the R's Jarrod had a sudden fear, he knew for a fact he was not nice enough to get into hufflepuff, and didnt care about brains and school work so he couldnt get into Ravenclaw, but the thought had struck him nothing ruled out Griffindor.

Jarrod tried to convince himself that Slytherin was the only choice but he couldnt help but be nervous. "Passfield, Jarrod" No time to be nervous now.

Jarrod walked up to the stool, sat down and put the hat on. He was told it reads thoughts so he decided to mention his will to be in Slytherin. 'I know its either Slytherin or Griffindor, please please please let it be slytherin.' he thought in his head. His thoughts went blank as he awaited the hats decision.

"Yes, you're right, the only choice for you is SLYTHERIN!"

connor walked into the room, he was amazed at the enchanted ceiling. His dad had told him about it. He looked around at all the other students in the line, they all looked scared. Nearly everyone had a friend with them. ill meet a friend later when ive been sorted into a house. He saw all the teachers, they smiled warmingly to all the newcomers. then James Connor. He walked up to the stool + the hat was placed onto his head. All eyes were on him now. He waited nervously for the hats desicion

"Your future lies wrapped within the house of HUFFLEPUFF!"

Alfie walked calmly into the large hall. It was amazing. No wonder his parents wouldn't tell him much about the school, it would spoil the beauty of it all, knowing the secrets of how it was the way it was. He waited eagerly to be sorted.

Eventually, after what seemed a years long wait, the teachers voice spoke out loud and clear. "Martins, Alfie" He walked confidently up to the front and sat on the little stool. As the hat was placed on his head he looked out into the crowd of students. Hello Mr Hat. Alfie sat as patiently as he could for the hats decision, wondering whether his cousin would end up in the same house as him.

"HUFFLEPUFF!"

Jessi entered the hall wishing more than anything he would be in the same house as Taylor. He looked around for her but couldn't see her anywhere. All around him was a sea of unfamiliar faces of nervous eleven year old's. Even though his name was fairly high up the list in the E's it seemed to drag on for hour's.

"Emmeton, Jessi" called a voice which rang out across the whole room, muffling the whispers of hundreds of students. Jessi made his way up to the front and sat down where the hat was placed on his head. He waited in anticipation for the hat's answer, his mind going completely blank.

"RAVENCLAW!"

Alexia waled into the hall with the rest of the students, she had read up on the whole sorting process, so she knew what to expect, even with her prior knowledge the great hall took her breath away, the magicall ceeling seemed to go up forever, suddenly she felt very small, not that she didnt alrady ofcourse again she was the shortest person around, she had hoped that just one person might just be a centmeter shorter than her just for once, but oh well she thought i like being small anyway.

The moving crowd came to a hault at the front of the hall, the sorting hat said it's poem and names began to be called, A hufflepuff, a few ravenclaws, and sytherins followed then a flood of newly sorted gryffindors everyone had found their place, i wonder where i will belong she wondered woth delight.

"Smith, Alexia"

Well theres no turnng back now she decided, she walked upto the stool and sat facing the crowd that watched with anticipation, older students remebering themselfs on the stool stared back at her, accompanied with the terrified faces of those still awaiting sorting, she smiled as the hat was placed on her head,
Hello hat, I've read about you and i know that you will make the right choice, So i will let you get to it she thought knowing that the hat could here her.

"Though you might do well in Hufflepuff, your bravery places you in GRYFFINDOR!"

Selena watched as the others gets sorted, feeling a bit anxious; she started wondering to herself. *what if this is a big mistake, what if...*
Just then a voice called her back to reality. " Znise, Selena!" *oh great...* she thought as she walked to the sorting hat she felt someone’s eye on her.
Looking around, her eyes fixed on the Slytherin table, she saw Blaise and Draco staring at her, giving them a little wave she continued walking. As the sorting hat was placed on her head and as soon as the sorting hat started talking she knew that this is the most frightening moment ever. All eyes are now fixed on her. "please don't put me in Gryffindor, please anything but Gryffindor." Now she is worried, very worried.

"You may not fit there yet - but in the future you'll be a great SLYTHERIN!"

Kyle decided he officially hated his last name as he waited for the few people ahead of him. The damn A at the start meant he would be one of the first to be placed, and he couldn't stand having to sit at a table with strangers and wait to see if any of the people he had met so far would be in his house. Above all, he couldn't bear the thought that he may be separated from Jessy, who was like a sister to him, and that he may end up losing her in the course of years.

And then another thought occurred to him. What if he wasn't even meant to be here? What if it was all some mistake? It would be a million times worse if the hat simply told him to go home, he wasn't magic enough. Everyone else looked like they knew what they were doing here, they knew they belonged. He felt completely left out.

"Alcott, Kyle!" His name was called, and he winced visibly, taking slow, timid steps up to the hat. This was it. His whole future depended on this moment. Normally he would have seen this as an adventure, but right now all he could do was make his legs walk him to the stool and bend to sit down, rather than bolting out the door and trying to find the train again. Nonetheless he made it, the hat resting on his ears and almost covering his eyes entirely, as he waited for it's verdict.

"HUFFLEPUFF!"
