Scott entered the Great Hall of Hogwarts New Zealand, this was only his second time in the school and it was his first time in the hall. He was astonished at how well it now reflected the hall in Hogwarts Scotland. Inhaling very deeply he sighed then ran his hand through his hair. He wasn't sure what he was getting in to at all, the ministry had simply told him that the former Co-Headmaster had returned to work as an Auror and that somebody would be needed at Hogwarts - at least for the time being - to ease the transition and workload for the acting Headmistress. Scott only knew one thing - two, actually. The first was that he wasn't staying here long at all if he could help it. He did not join the New Zealand Ministry of Magic to help out at a school with a bunch of children. The other thing he knew was that he didn't know anything at all.
Scott made his way to the front of the hall, an uneasy look on his face as he did so, before standing behind the podium and placing the scrolls of parchment he'd been handed only minutes earlier on the podium. He looked out over the empty hall and shook his head solemnly. Why had he agreed to come here at all? This was definitely a bad move on his part, he could feel it already and he'd been at the school but a few hours. Luckily he just called names for now and the hat did most of the work
-----------------------
The Hall was soon full of students and then the Great Hall's doorways started to creak open once more, now a swarm of even younger faces were entering the room, many bearing a look of wonder and astonishment as they nearly stumbled into the hall.
Once all of the first years entered the hall Scott gave Cecily an uneasy sidelong glance, almost asking if he really must go on and hoping somewhere within his being that she'd just stand up and do it herself then let him get back to the Ministry. No such gestures came from Cecily and as such he frowned very visibly before standing and approaching the podium - approaching his death.
"Greetings." He began, feigning a smile for a moment before he caught sight of one student nearly fainting at the sound of his voice echoing in the hall. 'Poor Kid' Scott thought as a real smile plastered his visage, "Welcome back to Hogwarts! I'm Professor Pollard and I will be helping Headmistress Rambolt with the school after Professor King's having returned to the Ministry." Scott began with this greeting, knowing that absolutely nobody but Professor Rambolt even knew who he was. "I'm sure we'll have a splendid year together." Scott lied - he was absolutely sure they would not have any such year, but telling a group of young people that he would abhor their year together would certainly not make it any better. It wasn't that he hated children, or hated Hogwarts, or hated anything at all, really. He just didn't feel that helping out at a school was part of his job description. He hoped that he'd at least make one more friend out of the experience (or possibly more than a friend?), and hopefully doing well here would get him a promotion in the Ministry.
"So let's get sorting over with so we can all begin our feast - shall we?" Scott continued after a few more lines of speech - mostly an outline of school rules and such. "When I call your name simply approach the stage, sit on the stool to my left - your right - and I'll place the hat on your head. When you're sorted please exit the stage and sit with your house." With that Scott withdrew the list of names and started the sorting....

After the Sorting Hat says it's poem, this is what you do (unsorted students):
1. Role Play walking up to the stage and placing the hat on your head. Make sure you include your character's thoughts, fears, etc. You can also RP my character calling your name and placing the hat on your head

2. After you've posted, the Sorting Hat will edit in it's post with a short RP and telling you which house you've been sorted into. This means you DO NOT sort yourself. Somebody will edit your post with your character's house in it! [Note: The Sorting Hat cannot sort you unless you've filled out a Sorting Form (Link)]

3. I will then send you a message with your house passwords and your classroom passwords. Of course, YOUR classes won't start until May 18th 2009, so don't start posting now! :D You will also receive your school supplies list, then you can finally start purchasing your school supplies!

It comes but once, but once each year,
When, I, the sorting hat appear.
I appear to sort the latest batch,
To look within and find a match.
To seek the person who does reside,
Beneath the skin, deep down inside.

Rest assured, I do take care,
To avoid mistakes and always be fair,
Because I know my duty is very great,
The decisions I make affecting fate.
So do not approach with a sense of fear,
Embarrassed when seated upon your rear.
And when I’m placed upon your head,
Your thoughts should not be full of dread.
Approach with confidence, pure and true,
Give me the chance to honour you.

Those who step forth brave with pride,
Likely in Gryffindor they will reside.
Fire and Lion, scarlet and gold,
A house of friends, strong and bold.

Hard working kids who value fair play,
May find that Hufflepuff is where they stay.
The Earth and Badger, yellow and black.
Loyalty and tolerance, keep them on track.

Creativity and intelligence will help some soar,
Above the rest to Ravenclaw’s door.
Air and Eagle, bronze and blue.
The wisdom to make dreams come true.

And finally those, resourceful and cunning,
Ambitious and powerful are in the running.
They’ll join the house of silver and green,
Where water and serpents stage the scene.

Now, one last thing, please take heed,
Here is some advice that you may need.
This school has grown in a short time,
So have mistakes and heinous crime.
A challenge to all present, to look within,
No matter the house I've placed you in.
To do your best and persevere,
To use your strengths and face your fear.

The time has come, no more delay,
I call you forth, come on, let’s play.

Dannii walked into the hall with the other 1st years. She was so nervous, she had no idea what house she would be in calm down Dannii she told her self as she made her way to the front of the hall with all the other 1st years. When her name was called Dannii almost gave out a small cry of fear, but didn't. She was stronger then that. She walked up confidently and placed the hat on her head give me your best shot hat she thought because she knew the hat could hear her.

"You seem to fit in nearly everywhere a little bit, but nowhere overly more than the others. Hmm, I'll put you in HUFFLEPUFF!"

Kaleb made his way down the hall. He glanced over at the Slytherin table, spotting his older brother. Kaleb chose not to wave. He held his head up high, and waited for his turn. The hat would know his heart's desire. To join his brother. The man called his name, and he smirked. Kaleb thought, This is it. He walked up, shouldering a few people, by accident or not, he wasn't sure. He was just anxious to see what house he would get in. He placed the hate upon his head. Kaleb closed his blue-gray eyes. Seconds felt like hours to him. To be honest, he was rather afraid of the crowd, but his pride wouldn't let him show it. He clinched his hands into fists, and awaited for the hat to decide. Just put me in a house, and hurry. Kaleb had no idea how much longer he could wait. Whether it was because of his pride, or his selfishness, he could not tell. Kaleb opened his eyes and glanced down at his robes. He smirked, thinking that he looked rather good in robes. Conceited, this boy was. Along with selfish, only thinking of himself.

"Hmm. You're tough. Two opposites suit you. Slytherin or Hufflepuff? SLYTHERIN!"

Brodie walked into the great hall much more confident then most of the people there stupid mud bloods he thought amused by how scared some were. He made his way to the front of the crowd and watched as the hat did its thing before names got called. Bored he turned his eyes towards the Slytherin table my future house mates he though confidently. Then his eyes shifted towards the Hufflepuff table and landed on a boy and a girl you had better hope they installed padding on the stairs Arisa he thought giving her a dirty look. Once his name was called he walked up and placed the hat on his head, he was a little small for his age and the hat slid past his ears and to his nose stupid hat he thought slightly embarressed, but not so much as to blush.

"Though you fit there a little less than you like to put on, you do belong to SLYTHERIN!"

The albino Parselmouth made her way down the hall. She lost sight of her cousin. She did not care though. She had no emotion upon her face. She watched a few students be sorted, and she awaited patiently for her turn. Vera was back in her habitat, and she wished that she had guidance from the old snake. Her crimson eyes looked around, seeing the symbols of the houses. Her eyes locked on one. The green and silver one with the snake. Salazar Slytherin. Her thin lips curled into a smile, lasting for a fraction of a second. He was like her. A Parselmouth.

Aleyha's ears snapped to attention and she heard her name being called. She forced her way through the crowd. Even if she was small for her age, she wasn't fragile. She wiped some of the dirt off her shoulders from the other students. Mudblood filth. She rolled her eyes. Her blond hair shone brilliantly in the light. She sat down on the stool, and felt the hat upon her head. She shot a look at her brother in the Ravenclaw table. How those two did not get along. Aleyha's eyes glared at her enemies. They should know to not mess with her now. Aleyha dismissed it, and only thought of Salazar Slytherin, the infamous Parselmouth. She did not want to lose her temper here.

"Another SLYTHERIN!"

Kaede walked into the Great Hall. Her heart was buzzing with excitement. This was the day so many students had been talking about. The day she was to be sorted. She hadn't known much about it, but she had learned from the many friends she had made over the past few days. She hoped that they could still be friends, even if they weren't in the same house.

She looked nervously around. Other students were being called up to the Sorting Hat. Her excitement melted into a pool of black liquid that was supposed to be her confidence. Her heart was now beating, not with excitement, but with fear. She felt like the room had grown colder around her. What is going on? Why am I here? Kaede's fear caused her mind to blank out. It was a void of nothingness.

All of a sudden, her name was called. "Okinawa, Kaede." She stepped forward, but disregarded the voice that called her name. She mindlessly sat on the stool and let the hat sit on her head.

"You'll find many friends in HUFFLEPUFF!"

Jessica Rose entered the Great Hall, looking around curiously. She saw a few people she knew, all of them Unsorted students. She was a little nervous, but more curious than anything. Being brought up by muggles, she knew next to nothing about the wizarding world. The small girl stood in the middle of the crowd of excited students who were all waiting to be sorted, and listened for her name. The crowd thinned a little, and her name was called.

"Phoenix, Jessica Rose." Jessica Rose pushed her way through the crowd, and sat down on the stool. Most people thought that 'Rose' was her middle name, but it was part of her first name. The hat was placed on her head, and she shivvered. Please not Slytherin. she thought desperatly. Or Hufflepuff... I'm not too fussed about Ravenclaw, but I would prefer Gryffindor. She had already made up her mind, she wanted to be in Gryffindor badly.

"You'd do well nearly anywhere, but the house that stands out most of all for you is GRYFFINDOR!"

Tyson had been waiting for this moment ever since he and his sister had received their Hogwarts letters, and found out they were wizards. He grinned at his sister, and whispered "Good luck" as it came to her turn. He knew it would be his turn next, and pushed the butterflies out of his stomach. He clapped his sister off the stage, and walked up to the stool on the stage, his hands in his pockets. He didn't feel very nervous, or self-concious about being up on the stage in front of the entire school. All he wanted now, was to find out which house he would be in. Putting the hat on his head, he closed his eyes briefly, as he waited.

"You'll find you fit in best in GRYFFINDOR!"

Lucy stood with the rest of the first year students, waiting for her name to be called. She was scared, to say the least. Irrationally afraid, of course, but the fear was there. I'm behind everyone else, is that going to matter? I don't know anything about magic. Why is there a talking hat? This is so strange. Lucy felt a little lost, so confused. I wish my mum was here, she thought, sadly, as she looked down at her shoes, her brand new black mary-jane shoes, bought especially go to with her Hogwarts uniform. They were still all starched and painful. Lucy had been used to wearing running shoes to school, with her extremely comfortable school uniform. Now she was all dresssed up like a doll in a Hogwarts uniform, with robes and everything. It was a very odd feeling.
"Buckley, Lucinda!"
Lucy looked up - it wasn't often she was used to hearing her full name, although she always introduced herself as Lucinda. She was so used to being Lucy, but she did kind of like the name Lucinda. Lucy was just easier to say. Only a couple of others had gone up, because Lucy was a B, and B was quite high up in the alphabet. She walked forward, quite nervous, to take a seat on the stool, looking at all the curious faces before her before the hat was placed on her head. She sighed, normally before a crowd she'd have a chance to speak for herself. But apparently, this old hat was to be speaking for her. How could a hat talk, anyway? I don't know how this works. I hope this hat knows where I belong.

"Well, it doesn't matter how I talk because this talking hat is deciding your future. Gryffindor or Ravenclaw. You clearly worry too much about logic to be a Gryffindor.... RAVENCLAW!"

Michelle walked with her usual dancing grace into the Great Hall with the rest of the First years. Her eyes sparkled, and she felt on top of the world. The group of new students came to a stop at the bottom of a stage, and Michelle watched as A,B and C were sorted.
"Darby, Michelle" A voice called. A confident smile broke out on her face, and she danced up the stairs, and walked briskly over to the three legged stool that sat in the center of the stage.
Center Stage she thought happily to herself, and sat down, cross legged on the the stool. For the first time that day, she felt a few butterflies fluttering around in her stomach. The words that the hat on her head spoke, would decide her future. Clenching her hands tightly in her lap, she waited for the decision.

"Your intellect and thirst for knowledge place you in RAVENCLAW!"

Jerry walked into the hall with a nervous expression, as he glanced around, he could see loads of people nervous, some like they don't even give a care in the world in which house their going to. 'This is my big day' He thought with excitement, he tried to calm himself down but to no avail. He started to daydream about which house he would be in
'Jerry Welber!'
Jerry looked up, it was the first time he was being addressed by his full name and he wasn't used to it. He walked slowly towards the stool and sat on it, trying to ignore all the stares of the students at the table 'Give it all you've got Mr Hat, I'm ready' He thought, he knew the sorting hat could hear his thoughts

"HUFFLEPUFF!"

Luke walks in with the rest of the students and stands at the front near the tables with a nervous look on his face. He tried not to show his fears but truth was that he was finding it hard to breath. He knew it was getting close to his turn when finally his name was bellowed through the room. Ricarnen slowly walks down the row as he looks to the tables to both sides with a sort of a smile but was still as nervous as he could be.

He gets to where the hat is sitting as he places it on his his blonde hair and then waits as he looks across the room quite frightened. Still he sat through it as he waited for the hat to ponder where to put him. He kept thinking, please Gryffindor or Ravenclaw. But honestly, all he was hoping for was to stay out of Slytherin, he did not fit in there at all.

"Gryffindor or Ravenclaw? Well, it's definitely GRYFFINDOR!"
(Please remember to role play in the past tense - "Luke walked in with the rest of the students and stood in the front..." instead of what you have. ;) )

Carmen walked into the Great Hall with the other students, chatting nervously to Kaleb as she did so. She wasn't usually a person of nervous disposition but the crowd of students that sat at the tables in this huge vast hall was unnerving. They proceeded to the front where the man she presumed was the headmaster stood. Twirling her hair between her fingers, Carmen was finally getting excited again about the prospect of being placed. Once she had dreamed that she would be placed into Gryffindor much to her families disgust. They wanted her in Slytherin and knew that was where her destiny lay.

Sure she was ambitious and was as creative as the next kid in her cunning to fool or get past her parents for things, but Carmen had never seen herself as one of this house. Ever. Her heart beat loudly and faster as each name was called, grinning broadly as Kalebs was. When her own was called she took a deep breath and walked up, smiling at the headmaster as she sat on the high stool. Feeling tiny looking out over the wave of children infront of her. She closed her eyes so as to concentrate, if she wished hard enough if she thought that this was what she wanted and not what the hat wanted, perhaps her will would change the course of things to come.

The hat was placed on her head and it began to mutter, groaning and muttering some more. 'I am a Peregrin of a long line of Peregrine's, grant me one favour and set me apart from all the rest', she willed.

"I wish I could give you what you want - but you fit in most in SLYTHERIN!"

Tabitha bounced in the Great Hall at her twin brother's side, her eyes sparkling. She stared around in wonder at the candles floating in mid air. Now how does that work? she thought to herself. She made a mental note to ask a Proffessor when she started lessons. She gazed up at the roof, which reflected the clear starry sky outside "Wow" she whispered.
Turning her attention to the stage, she watched as their group thinned, and her fellow first years all went and joined their new houses. Her hands were twisted in front her, as the G's were sorted, and the H's came around
"Huntly, Tabitha" She took ina sharp intake of breath, and smiled briefly at Tyson before ascending the stairs to the stage. Biting her lip, she walked over to the little stool, and sat down, placing the hat on her lip. She waited, her hands gripped tightly on the edge of the stool, for the Sorting Hat's decision.

"You'll find your bravery and courage suits the house of GRYFFINDOR!"

Merlina thought they resembled cattle being herded into a shed, the tables of older students watched them fascinated obviously remembering when they were this small. Merlina didn't hang her head or shy away from the stares, she took each one on the chin and walking with her back erect strode to the top of the Hall with the rest of the group. She past the Gryffindor table and smiled at her cousin. Would she be placed in Gryffindor? She didn't mind seriouslyl but thought her talents lay more in Ravenclaw than anywhere else but it was not her decision to make.

As each name was called she wondered why she was not as apprehensive as others were, one kid nearly fainted and she looked on astonished at such a reaction to the headmaster simply talking. Eventually her own was called and proudly she took her place on the stool waiting for the hat to be placed on her head. It felt strange when she felt it sit there moving and muttering quietly trying to decide where to put her.

Not knowing if she should begin to think of a particular house inorder to help the hat with its choice, Merlina knew it was too late to do anything of the sort as the hat began to speak.

"Your cunning and your wisdom suggest you would do well in Ravenclaw or Slytherin. If you want Ravenclaw, though, then that'll be it. RAVENCLAW!"

So this was it, the day he had waited for all summer long. Would he become another Slytherin like his family or would he get a chance to be something different. He wasn't sure what he thought of that idea, he wanted what would be best for him in the long run no matter what his family thought of the hats choice. He grinned at his friend as they walked up through the crowded hall to where the headmaster greeted them and the sorting began. As names were called Kyle ventured to look about him.

The tables went on and on for ages, the amount of students here appeared endless. Soon he would be just another statistic, another face in the crowd and this bothered him. Was this why his father had been such a trouble maker in school so that he wouldn't be a sheep like everyone else? It made sense and Kyle knew then and there that whatever happened he was looking out for numero uno, now if the girls around him would just move so he didn't have to inhale their fragrance or hear them whispering like total fools, he would be fine. His name was called at last and he couldn't help but push his way through the girls infront of him, he'd have to scrub himself later to get their perfume off. Girls were just dense things.

He sat on the stool and wanted to whistle or something to show he wasn't at all bothered by this, wasn't nervous or agitated in anyway. So no-one knew here who a Sparrow was, well that was fine. He'd make sure that by the end of his time here, no one would ever forget him. The hat began to move, ready to make its decision. Kyle inhaled deeply and sitting up straight and proud waited for the outcome.

"Another one that could go two different ways. I'll give you a chance to be different from your family - RAVENCLAW!"

Amphitrite Zchechaf stood at the back of all the first years to be. She knew that unless someone had a Zd to Zz at the begining of their name she would be the last one up, however she was beaming brightly the whole time. She spotted Kaleb go up, then the other boy whose name she couldn't recall follow him shortly. She looked around the crowd for people she might recognize but as she had just gotten here there weren't any that weren't already sorted. James and Judy had been sorted earlier in the S's.

When the Z's finally approached Amphitrite's heart began hammering excitedly. She couldn't wait to get on the stool, have the hat placed on her head, be analyzed and then finally be sorted. Her parents had been banking on Slytherin for everyone in the family, however she didn't want to be in Slytherin, nor did she want to be in Hufflepuff. Hopefully the hat wouldn't think it was because of her prejudice, but that really was just how she was raised. She knew that if she grew up in a normal family she wouldn't have a slight distaste towards mudbloods.

"Zchechaf, Amphitrite."

Trite looked up, her token Zchechaf blue eyes twinkling madly as she walked onto the stage. She did not look down as she skipped up towards the stool. She was confident in herself and knew that being sheepish and shy really got her no where good. She sat down on the stool, and the hat was placed on her head, blocking her eyes from the crowd, it made her feel a bit odd. Hello Mr. Hat, how are you? Do you think maybe I could be placed in Gryffindor like cousin Aiden? she thought to the hat, hoping he would hear that.

"Yes, I think you could be.... GRYFFINDOR!"

Isaac was at the front of the group of students waiting outside the doors of the Great Hall to be Sorted. He knew they all looked like sheep being herded as they walked in, but he held his head high nonetheless, if he was to be a sheep, he'd be a confident sheep at the head of the pack. As the Headmaster gave his speech, Isaac grew impatient, wanting the Sorting to start already and finally it began. Truth be told, Isaac's heart was racing and his palms were sweaty, but he didn't dare show his nervousness while everyone was watching. He scoffed silently and rolled his eyes at the many other males walking confidently up to the stool while thinking, Fools. Clearly he was unaware of the smug look he wore at all times and the manner of which he talked and walked.

"Chambers, Isaac!" the Headmaster called out loudly, Isaac's chest swelled with pride at his name, and also gratefulness that it started with a C so he wouldn't have to die of anticipation. Isaac Dean Chambers IV to be exact, he thought arrogantly, proud of his family line. He glanced around the hall as he strutted up to the stool with a smug look on his face; he doubted anyone knew of the Chambers family, but that made it all the better for him to show them just who they are in time. He was here to show them that being a Chambers was much more important than being a Pureblood.

The hat was placed upon his golden locks of shaggy hair and Isaac waited patiently. His bright blue eyes fell upon the family ring he wore so proudly on his right middle finger and he saw his family crest glistening on it. Please let me be in Slytherin like my grandfather, he thought hopefully. It would be a real letdown to his grandfather if he wasn't placed in his house.

"There's no doubt about you. You belong to SLYTHERIN!"

Leia walked into the Great Hall with the rest of her future classmates, her heart racing so fast she swore her peers around her could hear it. This was it, what they had all been waiting for for many, many months. Finally all the questions of 'What house do you want to be in' would cease, yet that only meant 'What house are you in' would be asked instead, though now at least Leia would have a definite answer and be happy with where ever she ended up in. Leia twirled her dark locks of hair in her fingers as she bit her lip, not really watching the Sorting going on, but instead scanning the many faces of her future classmates in search of her two best friends Oscar Edwards and Emma Meminger. Where were they? Leia had only befriended them two, since she was brought up to not trust people very easily and she couldn't imagine going through school without them two.

Finally her name was called, "Evans, Leia" and her heart skipped a beat as she cautiously edged her way through the crowd and she heard her shiny black flats clacking loudly against the floor, though the sound was only magnified to her since she was so nervous. Leia wore a large, white daisy tucked into her hair behind her right ear but as soon as the hat was placed on her head, it was so large it slipped right over the flower and even covered her eyes, shielding her from all the other eyes peering up at her with interest. She bit her lip as she waited for the Hat's answer. She knew where she thought she best belonged, in Hufflepuff, where she would kick their old stereotypes to the curb and make others see Hufflepuffs more positively; but as she constantly told everyone, it was all up to the hat.

"Yes, your loyalty and kindness place you in HUFFLEPUFF!"

As Emilie walked into the hall she remebered to look up, she gasped. The roof, or the sky, was better than she had read about. She rubbed her stomach in attempt to rid her butterflies. She looked around all the other students who too were gazing up. This was what she had been waiting for, all summer long since she had recieved that envelope. :D

She listened intently to the headmasters speech, and then the Sorting Hat's song. Her name was not first called and one by one people became sorted. Meanwhile looked around taking everything into account to write to her family.

Then her name was called Silverfox, Emilie, she walked onto the stage and watched were she stepped as she didn't want to trip up. She gulped and put the Hat onto her head and confidently looked out into the sea of pupils. "Hello Sorting Hat, its nice to finally meet you" she thought in her head. She could feel her fingers shaking and her forhead sweating. Then the hat opened his mouth... :woot:

"Your personality points me to putting you in one house... HUFFLEPUFF!"

Alexia walked towards the great hall her sister had said. It was wide and full of students, she looked around to saw her sister Lexi. But luck was not with her, the group of unsorted students stop at the front of the staff table and one by one the man with a long parchment each said their name's one by one. This is it, i have to dictate what my mind is saying. Lexi said you have to think of the house you want Alexia thought at the memory when Lexi had her Christmas vacation with them. As it came to the R's, Alexia was the first one to be called, she closed her eyes and immediately open it when the man called her again.

Slowly she walked in front and sat the said stool, her heart was pounding fast in nervousness. The man with the parchment came towards her and placed the hat in her head, Please, i don't want to be like my sister. Its ok, if you put me anywhere, except don't put me into slytherin Alexia desperately thought. When the hat move, she closed her eyes and waiting for the hat's decision.

"Helga would take you. HUFFLEPUFF!"

Clover was walking inside of the great hall, the hall was great but the hall is just the meager of their horses at home. The group walked in silence while she was just looking at her new manicured nails. Clover saw mudbloods and pure bloods around, she saw some students in green coat. She smiled at students their and turned her head at the staff table, Clover was called first by the man in black cloak, she walked in front and sat at the stool. Then the dirty old rag hat was placed at the top of her head.

"This is so gross." She said quietly, You already know where to put me, so you can get off the hell out of my head she thought angrily. Clover waited for a few minutes for the hat to speak.

"Actually, I don't know where to place you yet. You could fit in nicely in Gryffindor. You should stop thinking so highly of yourself, too. Oh, and if you curse at me once more I'll have a mind to throw your sorry behind in Hufflepuff. Don't mess with a hat who holds the next seven years of your life in it. Now, I'll be kind. Slytherin."

Mikaela walked up with the crowd of over excited students, Most of the excitment coming from nerves. But Mikaela was completely calm. she walked up and listened to the begining of the ceremony. Looking up at the roof Mikaela was almost distracted but she looked back at the Sorting hat on the chair.
As Each student went up to the chair she watched the hat get placed on their head and sort them into a house. 'That hat is going to mess up my hair' she thought to herself as she flicked her hair a bit.
Mikaela let out a slight smile as the glimmer of a candle catch her eye. Mikaela had always been a tad bit of a pyro, she liked to light some things on fire just to watch the flames dance.

"Fox, Mikaela"

Mikaela looked up when she heard her name, and up that stairs was the Chair and the hat held firmly in the professor's hand. she looked around for a bit and began to walk up. pace by pace she made her way though the crowd of students, flicking her hair again a bit. It was a Nasty habbit that she had, When she felt people staring at her Mikaela would flick her hair and give them a slight cold shoulder. She heard her shoes make a sound against the ground as she walked up the steps.
Making her way over to the Stool Mikaela Sat down. and waited as the hat was placed on her head. 'Hair' she thought when it was placed on her head. it took her ages to get it right.
she looked over at the crowd of faces watching her and waited for the hat to begin.

"It seems to me you'll fit in well in HUFFLEPUFF!"

Cyril smoothened his robe as he stood in line, waiting for his name to be called out. He held his chin high - This was a day to be dignified, rather than having your head bent low. This was a day to be proud of, this was the day that Cyril would be sorted. Glancing around, Cyril tried to look for any familiar faces in the crowd. Imogen, Emma .. Anyone would do. Despite his calm outlook and straight face, tension was high inside Cyril. Inside was basically a fight between both sides of him, the good and the bad. One side of him wanted him to go to Slytherin, but the other side .. Opposed that. Cyril didn't know which side he wanted to be on, it didn't matter to him, really. Whatever house he was in, Cyril's goal is just to have fun here for the next seven years. The next seven years would be his most important years - His education, his first prolonged seperation from his family .. Letting out a puffed out breath, Cyril shuffled his feet forward a few steps as another person was called.

Looking to the side, Cyril saw the four large House Tables arranged together, a sea of faces both young and matured looking at them from the tables. Raising his head towards the front of the hall, Cyril saw the large table which the Headmistress and other teachers sat at. Some of the teachers were talking animatedly to each other, whereas some were in their own thoughts and some where sitting up straight, indifference on their faces. Running a hand through his hair, Cyril noticed that the line was slowly shortening, it would be his turn soon.

"Relax man .. It won't be hard. It would just take a few seconds .." Cyril reassured himself, while taking a few large breaths. Before he left for Hogwarts, his mother had told him that breathing deep would help, and it truly did. The Hall was what you could said to be stuffy, since so many people were in this room together. Taking more breaths, Cyril took a look at the ceiling and gasped. He was so preoccupied in his own thoughts that he had not even glanced at the ceiling yet. The whole ceiling was transparent, though its outlines were still visible, and candles were located throughout the ceiling.

"Tokarev, Cyril." the man standing right next to the head called out with his magically amplified voice. Moving into a dignified stride, Cyril forced all thoughts of doubt out of his mind, and foccused at the hat. Nodding stiffly at the professor, Cyril pushed himself up the stool easily - His height helped. He felt the hat be placed on his head, old and rough. Despite knowing that the Hat sometimes valued their opinions, Cyril decided that it didn't matter. Fate would decide all there was, and all there would ever be.
